The Hotel Montebello puts you in a great spot for exploring Olu Deniz. Back at base, you’ve got pools, waterslides, and a helping of bars.
This hotel is in a great location if you like getting out and about. It’s 10 minutes’ walk from the bars and restaurants in Olu Deniz, as well as the sand-and-shingle beach. Hisaronu, meanwhile, is a 5-minute taxi ride away.
Inside, everything’s modern and up to date. Bedrooms are stylish, with splashes of teal brightening up neutral colour schemes. The rest of the place is bright and airy, while recessed LED lighting changes the mood after dark.
The pool is surrounded by a large sun terrace with plenty of sunbeds and parasols, overlooked by the mountains the serene and tranquil pool will give you the chance to catch up on some well-deserved relaxation.
We visited this hotel from the 11th August for 2 weeks. We got there very late but the reception staff was very polite and took the cases to the room.
Our room was on the top floor with a sea view so very good!
Beds made every day towels changed and decorations on bed several times made it special.
Air con worked and very good although it leaked a couple of times once reported they fixed it straight away.
Shower and other facilities in the room no problem - my partner particularly loved the shower!
Sunbeds - you could get one at any point in the day some people were up early as I, the pool attendants would supply more chairs if necessary.
Food- very good always something edible and hot. Waiter service for drinks at lunch and evening meal.
The staff work very hard to keep the area clean and plates were taken when you finished.
Some food we didn't eat as we went for meals though, breakfast time there was a chef who would cook you am egg or an omlette etc.
Bar- drinks were good and local beer was efes it was strong so I didn't have ant but my partner would sometimes have a shandy, I had mixed cocktails mostly and local brands.
Bar staff are great and work hard keeping you refreshed, sometimes working long hours but always smiling and good service.
Pool- two pools and a slides area opening at curtains times. Main pool nice, was busy most of the time but you could still swim and dip without interruption.
Pool activities were water polo and aerobics which was entertaining.
Entertainment - Arun made sure we were entertained every day and music was good to listen to at various times of the day. Night time there would be a show or dance act and quite good actually, Arun asked me to take part in miss montebello but I went out that evening so don't know what happens!
Spa man- asked if you wanted to use the spa and facilities we didn't use so can't comment.
Fred-(photo man) had photos done all ok and good photos we bought a few.
This is more of a family environment if you want my opinion but there was a few couples there and groups. We still enjoyed the experience never the less.
Olu deniz had changed somewhat since last time I was there but still lovely and I did visit this hotel some years back when it was a B and B I didn't know at the time of booking but regonised it even though it had major renovations etc.
Meals out- cawa cawa, help bar, buzz bar, magic garden, Joseph's ate places we visited and also antique bar but wasn't keen on that much, but still ok. Best steak - magic garden and cawa, best view buzz bar.
Hisoranu - lively resort lots of bars and restaurants. We had a meal at shanghai and was excellent, drinks at the bar underneath talk of the town are bogof for 13 lira bargain. Dolmus was 3 lira.
Beach- very busy from what I remembered but still good and glad to see the bean bags back on the beach! It was cooler at the beach so went a few times as the weather was so hot during our stay if was a bit if relief and change from round the pool.
Our holiday was relaxing and felt refreshed during our stay, the hotel itself is in my opinion is deserving 4 star .
A holiday is what you make it basically and we made it our own.
Tips - buy towels here very good, cheap and large for 15 lira
Turkish shave- just ask for the shave as they do extras and charge so be careful, although its still cheap.
Scales - lots of young people ask to weigh you I never saw this in olu deniz before only in icemeler previous years but I did give a few lira, not too much hassle apart from feeling guilty when we didn't spare any change.
I would book trips through the companies with best deals and paragliding and boat trips are a must. I believe the bubble aqua park was good as relayed back from another guest and the water park.
As we traveled as a couple I can't comment on the children's side of things but there are lots of things for them to be entertained.
What else can I say other than enjoy you holiday and make sure you join the Facebook groups as they are quite informative when wanting to know about deals or ask questions about the resort.
I thing though I didn't like was the chairs around the pool bar as they irritated my skin the design of them in conjunction with wet skin, hot weather etc made my skin come out in an itchy rash but hey it was minor anyway I just got some cream from chemist.
Enjoy your stay if you do venture here, it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and met some nice people, Dena and Huey, Owen and Ashling and also Shona and family. If you want to keep your self to yourself aswell then this is for you.
Honesty and professionalism - forgotten wrist watch.
Stayed at this lovely hotel in July, food and amenities excellent. Left my wrist watch in the room safe when I checked out, realised when I got to Dalaman airport. I rang them and they already had found my watch, which had been handed in by the chambermaid, wow! Hotel packaged up my watch very carefully and posted it to another hotel in Turkey (where a friend was visiting in the near future) at no charge to myself. Just brilliant service from this hotel, honest and professional. Cannot recommend highly enough. It's a beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings.More

A true and accurate reflection of our stay
We stayed for 2 weeks at this hotel from 3 August along with another family of 4. Room was lovely, in block 3. Immaculately clean. Only criticism was the light, only 4 spot lights that were too dim after 8 pm to see to get ready. Easy walking distance
to the strip, 5/10 mins. Free bus to the lagoon.
Food was plentiful with every salad imaginable available. 4 hot dishes along with veg, chips and rice if needed and the chef cooked something every night. The bread was amazing. More fresh fish would have been nice. We ate out most nights in our second week, not because the food was bad but because we like to try different places and it was so cheap to eat and drink out it made a nice change. Staff were very quick to remove food once breakfast/dinner ended, and you sometimes felt rushed especially if you like a late breakfast and/or evening meal.
Drinks were plentiful, beer nice and cold and vodka tonic was strong. Ask for a small one if you prefer it weaker. Tonic was Schweppes and cola was real coke.
Pool was lovely, again immaculate. Only criticism was having your belongings moved out of the way and being asked to move off the sun beds so the area could be cleaned for the evening events. This happened to us at 5:45. The pool doesn't shut until 7pm ! As for sun beds, if you wanted one at the front then be up at 5.30am to get one. We had young boys so it was necessary for us to keep an eye on them. So, embarrassing as it was, that is what we did. One family had reserved 7 beds on the front row on one particular day and didn't arrive at the pool until after 1.30pm, they had been shopping to Hisaronu ! Disgusting behaviour.
Pool with slides was great fun and open just long enough 11-12 morning and 3-5 in afternoon.
Ice cream only served from 3.30-4.00pm was delicious, the usual suspects at the front of the queue at 3.25pm. Would have preferred small tubs throughout the day to avoid the rush!
Pool entertainment was fine if that's what you like. Entertainment we saw at night was good especially the acrobatic dancers and contortionist.
All staff worked extremely hard and for long hours throughout the day. We didn't see any inappropriate behaviour as some have mentioned. Spa was lovely. We all had treatments and my husband had several shaves. Photographer Fred was lovely and very good at his job.
Booked some trips with Focus (bottom of the strip, turn right. We hired our own boat for the day including skipper and lovely food and also did the jeep safari which was a great fun day out.
Would we go again ? Definitely. More

Nice hotel in a very hot Turkey
Stayed at the Montebello for one week and the hotel is well located just a short walk from the main strip. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean and the rooms were a good size and well air conditioned which was essential during our stay as temperatures were mid 40's.
The food was varied and whilst I could always find something to eat not everyone in our party could. It was difficult to get seats at the bar at night and despite a sign stating that towels should not be left on sunbeds before 9am it was impossible to get a sunbed and not a German in sight. There has been a lot of talk in previous reviews about staff but I have to say that I found all the staff friendly and helpful however my daughter who is 21 had to fight off significant attention from time to time but nothing sleazy. Overall a good stay in a great hotel.More
