Lovely, friendly and clean hotel!

I travelled here last august with my boyfriend and had a wonderful experience would definately recommend the hotel. The area: Olu Deniz is an absolutely beautiful part of Turkey with amazing sea and mountain views and also has its own blue lagoon which is lovely. There is a strip of shops and restaurants, and plenty of water activities/sports to do on the beach so there is plenty to do. The hotel: The hotel is gorgeous, it is very clean and well kept in all areas of the hotel. The hotel is situated in the mountains of Olu deniz which give great views whilst sunbathing! The hotel is only 5/10 mins walk from the shops and the main beach. There are also buses that run to the blue lagoon for FREE right from the hotel which is handy. Overall the hotel has no faults. The Room: Our room was great and very clean. The only thing i would complain about is that it was 2 single beds pushed together which was quite annoying. The toilet was a great size as well as the bedroom and also had a veranda with table and chairs. There was a TV in the room and air con too. The beds were comfortable and we always had a great sleep! The maids were in every day to clean and tidy the rooms and top up toilet roll etc, they were always so lovely! The Staff: There are no faults with the staff at all every one of them from the maids to bar staff, reception and waiters could not do more for you and were always so friendly. There were 2 younger boys usually on the bar who were so lovely and always remembered our names and drinks and always made effort to speak to us :) The entertainment team are alright nothing great Neymar was quite quiet and the other guy was annoying at times. The entertainment: The entertainment wasnt very good and only lasted around an hour, it was usually karaoke or a belly dancer who tried to get all the men to dance. We went out every night to the strip and only stayed in the hotel after dinner for a while for the All Inclusive drinks. The Pool: The pool is a decent size and there are plenty of sun loungers however we quickly learned people were getting up extra early to reserve loungers which is ridiculous, if you did not reserve early in the morning you would not get one which is annoying! We went to the beach half the time so it wasnt as bad and the days we did stay at the pool i found myself having to set alarms to get up early to put towels on our loungers. Also the music around poolside could be better. Much better. The Food and Drink: We were All inclusive as we prefer that, the food was mostly good and we always found something to eat and there was always loads of it and the chefs were great and done specials most nights, it was also perpared very nicely! however it quickly got quite samey over the 10 days. The cooked breakfast goes faster so i would say to go down a bit earlier if you want a cooked breakfast and not olives haha. I did get a dodgy stomach for the last 4 days which i can only think would be down to the food but i am unsure, make sure you take diarrhea tablets with you. The soft drinks were good and you could ask for as many as you liked, the alcoholic drinks and cocktails are verryyyyy strong - i learned the hard way! They do not measure. Excursions: We booked our excursions and day trips through the rep in the hotel, watch out for men on the strip that will try and get you to book with them, i heard for example on turkish spa deals they take you to horrible little spas in the middle of nowhere which is just so dodgey! I would definitely only book through a holiday rep at the hotel (i.e. thomas cook, jet 2 etc). We done the turkish spa which is great and really prepares your skin for the sun (only £10 each) we also went on a market trip with a detour to the turkish delight place and the ghost town - the market is FAB i love to shop and you can haggle with them for great prices on all the fake designer things and anything else! the ghost town was different for us but such a good experience and really interesting! We also done a boat trip that left from Fethiye which was amazing they take you to really beautiful spots in the sea and you get a swim at each area. We also went to the waterpark as we love waterparks but it was a bit of a letdown to be honest but still something to do. The Beach: We didnt go the main beach as we were told by our rep that there are strong currents and a huge drop which could be dangerous, instead we went to the blue lagoon most days which is the BEST part of our whole holiday! There are private beaches which you pay around £10 to get into and get a lounger each and it is sooo worth it as it isnt as busy. The water is so warm and blue and we always hired paddle boats or canoes to go out in which i would recommend! The free shuttle bus from your hotel takes you to and from here and you can even take your lilo's! We honestly had such a good holiday and were even a little surprised at how amazing it was! Oh make suree to take mostly english pounds as the turks prefer this, we took half turkish lira and half english pounds and we were struggling to use the turkish lira by the end of it and even came back for some, also we had quite a lot of scottish notes becuase we are scottish but they dont accept this so make sure its english!More

Good value

This was the first time we booked AI anywhere other than the Caribbean and we were apprehensive about what to expect. We decided on booking this hotel as the price difference between the hotel we stayed at previously in Olu on a B&B basis was only about £100 pp cheaper and we were happy to pay this extra even if only for drinks around the pool during the day as we know on site shops are always expensive. Also as we know the resort & we were looking forward to eating out at a few of the lovely restaurants so we took extra money to cater for this. We needn't have worried. The food was lovely, fresh and plentiful. My husband is very fussy when it comes to food but we found something every lunch and evening to eat. There was also a chef cooking a specialty dish daily. We travelled with another couple who also managed to eat well. There was always plenty to eat at breakfasts but the boiled eggs were hit & miss due to the bain maries they are kept warm in but there was always something to eat. Needless to say we didn't feel the need or want to eat out. The waiters were always polite and attentive without going over the top. The tables were quickly cleared away and we never once went for lunch or dinner and had to wait for a table. The drinks were okay but would have liked a couple of extra spirits avaliable on the AI such as a rum but we knew this when booking so this isn't a complaint. I know a lot of people will compare this resort to other AI but I can honestly say it is excellent value for money compared to the prices paid for AI which are 24hrs and include premium brand drinks. One word of advice beware of the cocktails they are lethally stronger than here as measures are not used - I found out the hard way. The pool is a good size and kept clean. Yes the sun loungers are close together but there are plentiful & you can move them to wherever you want. The only down side of the pool is the entertainment team and music choice, which was very inappropriate at numerous times considering the wide range of ages around the pool. If I had a young child I would have made a formal complaint to management but I just stuck my headphones on to drown out the offensive music that was playing. And no, I'm not an old fuddy duddy - I love an eclectic mix of music from Guns n Roses to Rhianna but I believe there is a time & place for everything. The rooms are a good size and ours was kept clean and well stocked by our maid. The only downside was not enough drawers for clothes. The wardrobe was a grand size with plenty of hangers and a safe. The only thing that we think could be added would be a kettle & drink facilities but you can pick a kettle up for next to nothing from the numerous supermarkets on the strip. We used the spa facilities whilst there for a Turkish bath treatment which was excellent & well worth £10. WORD OF WARNING there is a sales rep from the spa who wanders around the pool with hard sell tactics. As we had attended our welcome meeting we knew we could get our treatment through Thomas Cook for only £9 but the rep said if interested the spa rep would do you a good deal. We decided to speak to him but he tried selling packages which although were good value were more than what we wanted spend on the first day of our holiday. We went down into the spa the following morning & told the staff at the reception we just wanted the basic package and they happily booked us in. Whilst waiting for our treatment to begin the sales rep came in showing some other guests around the facilities. When he saw us he came charging over asking what we were doing. When we told him he said that such a basic treatment didn't exist and that we would have to book and pay for the more expensive packages. He was very rude and pushy but we stood our ground and said if that was the case we would just have our money refunded and go elsewhere. With this threat he stalked off back to the the other guests to carry on with them. Although this was quite stressful the treatment more than made up for it. The masseurs were very professional and very good at what they do and we were completely destressed in next to no time at all. We even had a complimentary bottle of water at the end of treatment in addition to the Turkish tea beforehand. We tipped the massuers as I would rather give it to those that deserve it than it being split by the spa. We mentioned the spa rep sales technique to the Thomas Cook rep as she had recommended him in the first place but she wasn't the least bit interested & said that it was up to us if we wanted to book with him ! It's such a shame that this type of sales is going on as we spoke to several couples who went to other spas in the resort duevto the pushy rep. We did plenty of trips but didn't book any through TC as their prices are so much more expensive. We did the jeep safari, day leisure cruise, night cruise & Dalaman for just over £100 per couple. We had a fantastic time on all of the excursions and have got wonderful memories from these days out. We had a brilliant holiday & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. Okay, its not a 5 star resort but its not 5 star prices but it is still exceptional value & would happily return.More
