Great holiday, already organising a return.

Our second visit to Oludeniz within 6months. Some of our family accompanied us this time. First time at the Montebello and already discussing a return. The hotel is spotlessly clean with the cleaning staff constantly working away. The rooms were everything required for our stay ,clean , comfortable with a fridge and excellent shower. Only one remark regarding the room . Take care when moving your chair close to the edge of the balcony as the way the surround is built its very easy for the chair leg to slip down the gap . It happened to us, no one was hurt but got a scare. On reading some of the previous reviews I find it hard to believe we visited the same hotel. Six of us including some very fussy eaters had a great selection at meal times enough variety to be fully satisfied. A lot of the selection was Turkish based which wasn't surprising but worth a try as many of the dishes were superb. The waiters were always busy either serving drinks at the tables or quickly removing any empty plates. The all inclusive drinks stopped at 11pm . I've noticed a few people complaining about this but it specified this in the hotel descriptions so they knew what to expect. At the poolside towels were being put down early although we never once had a problem at any time of the day finding a sunbed The evening entertainment led by the athletic Harun was good and varied . The guy's a gem always very friendly and helpful .The entertainment may not have been to everybody's taste but didn't stop the area where it was held always being full. Fred the photographer is a must visit for amazing photos and he is also extremely friendly and helpful. The bar staff worked away tirelessly pouring drinks and keeping the bar area spotless. Some of the staff were always laughing and joking and others more reserved but then again everybody's different. One thing about the hotel staff , they were always courteous , polite and willing to assist. We nearly missed the opportunity of staying at this hotel based on some of the moans on TA but after trying it realise it's better to take some of the views with a pinch of salt Overall we had an extremely relaxing and satisfying holiday at the Montebello Resort which I will be happy to recommend to anybody and will definitely return. My friend and I arrived late and were checked in without any problems (it's about 1hr 15m transfer from the airport). Our room was just fine for the amount of time we spent in it - plenty of wardrobe space and it was cleaned daily. Fresh towels and toiletries were plentiful and our cleaner (well we think she was ours) was very friendly. The food - please ignore all the comments from people who clearly don't understand that Turkey is a Muslim country so you're not going to get your 'full English'. Try to appreciate the food they have and enjoy it - I never had a problem eating in the hotel. The lunchtime and evening soups were lovely - there was so much choice of salads and meats. The Turkish bread was stunning - the 6lb I've put on indicates that there was plenty of choice! :-) We did eat out a few times to break it up as AI does get a bit samey - it's also a good opportunity to try other places and see what they have to offer. The pool area was lovely and clean - plenty of sun loungers (and you didn't have to get up at stupid o'clock to reserve them). Even later on in the day, there were still loungers to be had - this is probably as it's late on in the season. They are packed very close together which means you'll be almost lying on the person next to you, but such is life - it honestly wasn't a problem. Most of the staff were amazing - especially the bar staff and Hakan the massage guy. We befriended them instantly and had a great laugh. The reception staff were ok, but a small problem with my beach towel being taken from the room took a whole day to fix and the two people on reception didn't seem overly concerned in trying to get it back. No major problem as it was a cloudy day so I didn't need it to have a few G&T's (watch the measures they poor - very strong!). :-) I had a great holiday - the location of this hotel is amazing (a 5/10 min walk takes you to the beach and the strip were you'll find loads of bars and restaurants). I would recommend Help Bar or Buzz Bar if you want to sit with a beer and watch the paragliders land over your head. Oh and try to visit the Blue Lagoon - totally breathtaking. If I'm lucky enough to have the opportunity to go back to Olu Deniz then this hotel will win hands down. Loved it.More

Two Happy Guests

This was our second stay at the Montebello Resort and despite my partner having an unfortunate accident we still enjoyed our holiday. We arrived on the 18th September two weeks later than last year and following a couple of days of storms and heavy rain we thought we might regret that decision. Luckily the weather for the rest of the fortnight was fantastic. Our last day 2nd October was very sunny and a lovely 32 degrees Before reviewing the hotel Patricia and I would love to thank the mystery first aider who held on to her fractured wrist for a considerable length of time before the ambulance arrived. He was very responsible, calm, calming and new exactly what was required. Unfortunately we never saw him again to convey our appreciation. Back to the review - the Montebello's biggest asset is its staff. From the cleaners and gardeners to the manager everyone was very helpful and friendly. Food is good but won't suit the steak pie and chips brigade. Bhari one of the restaurant waiters seemed to latch on to us from the start and our drinks were always on the table before we sat down. The pool bar staff at first did not seem quite as friendly but as you got to know them their characters came out, Some guests thought Erhan was unfriendly but his humour was so dry some guests took him too seriously. He reminded me of Laurel and Hardy (both of them). Both the day and night reception staff were helpful and always on the ball. The pool area is very pleasant but the sunbeds are a bit too close together and surfaces can be a tad slippery. Rooms and public areas were clean and well maintained. Following Pats accident the hotels stunning guest liaison manager and the hotel manager could not have been more helpful. Their time and care during and after her hospital stay was very much appreciated.More
