It’s the location that sets this place apart – expect incredible views and easy access to the centre of Olu Deniz.

Nestled into greenery on the Olu Deniz peninsula, the Flamingo Hotel offers up great views of the Turkish countryside. It also puts you within easy reach of all the action – it’s just a 20-minute walk from Olu Deniz Beach and the town centre.

Rooms here are laid out in modern cream blocks, surrounded by trees and bougainvillea. At the centre of the grounds you’ll find two swimming pools; both are bordered by loungers and parasols. There’s a turtle-shaped number for little ones to splash around in, as well, and a couple of poolside bars mean refreshments are taken care of.

On the dining front, the restaurant serves up Turkish buffet spreads in the mornings as well as, at a charge, freshly made omelettes and pancakes. Evenings, meanwhile, sees different types of meat and fish on offer. There are regular Turkish nights laid on, too, with kebabs and belly dancing on the agenda.

At Olu Deniz a long stretch of sand and shingle curves around the bay leading to a secluded lagoon with turquoise waters. For the more adventurous, take to the clear blue skies in a microlight available from Olu Deniz. Headsets add to the thrill, allowing landmarks and ground features to be pointed out as you fly an exhilarating 2000ft over Olu Deniz, the Ghost Town or Fethiye. In terms of nightlife, evenings revolve around softly-lit restaurants and cosy bars. You’ll find a couple of nightclubs, too. If you want a livelier night out, Hisaronu, an inland resort nestling in the pine clad mountains above Olu Deniz, is only four kilometres away and easily reached by local dolmus.
