Too many wasps and too many steps

Having looked at some of the pictures that people have sent in, I think I must of stayed somewhere else, we never got flowers or swans on our beds, our room was very dark and depressing, we only had one shower door for 8 days, just before we came home they came in and put two doors on, we were in room 812 and I have to say our room was not clean, the curtains and net curtains were stained where others had squashed insects or mossies, blankets were dirty and so was the small throw on the bottom of the bed, couldn't sit on balcony as it was so overgrown with vines and plants, might look nice from a distance, but I like to sit on my balcony and not get eaten by mosquitoes, awful room, but it did have a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. We were offered a ground floor room as I use a wheelchair, either 701/702 which was even darker than the room we had, it was like being in a basement, these rooms are not worthy of any stars sorry. Hotel is in a very good position only a 5 min walk from beach and main street, pool area is good with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas, mattresses would be nice for sun not too loud round pool, animation team not pushy. Very loud music in restaurant even at 8am, ridiculous, and wasps and flys everywhere, landing on your food, all over breads, fruits, salads, not very hygienic, some of the waiters were lovely but I'm afraid a few were not very nice, one of them on several occasions came up behind us picked up a knife from the table put it in front of our necks and pretended to cut our throats, he laughed said something in turkish, WOW not what I was expecting and not funny at all, quite scarey really, our friends daughter also came with us for a week, and one or two of the waiters were making lewd gestures about her to other waiters, to make them laugh, which she saw, so he stopped and walked away. I found the food very basic, just chicken and turkey most days, if you went for your evening meal after 8pm and there was show cooking on, it normally ran out before half past 8, so you had to get in early. Couldn't make the steps upto the entertainment, so can't comment, they did have a singer on a few times in the pool bar, which was good as I got to see it, there's steps and ramps all around the complex, but these ramps are very steep and you need to be superman to push a wheelchair up these ramps. All public areas were clean and well looked after, weather was lovely too. As we couldn't get to see the entertainment we used the lobby bar quite a lot, there was a lovely young girl who served us, very pleasant, but the young guy was always outside having a cigarette we had to keep waiting for him, and he never washed his hands before serving us. It's a very noisy complex, people talking late at night, slamming doors, kids screaming after midnight while parents in the bar. This is a family complex and not suitable for anybody with walking difficulties, it's a shame it doesn't say that on the website. Olu deniz is lovely, we just picked the wrong hotel for us.More

Sheer Relaxation!

Just enjoyed a fabulous two weeks from 6-20 October with my wife and two children aged 11 and 8. Checking in was a breeze and we were surprised and delighted to find out we had been upgraded by Omer to a suite( 2 bedrooms!). First impressions were great and the gardens are beautiful and well kept. We were in room 824 which was spacious for the four of us and had 2 balconies. As others have stated the bathrooms are a bit dated but perfectly adequate and due to be upgraded over the winter. First impressions of the restaurant were that it was good and the waiters were all very friendly and hospitable. The food was hot with lots of choice and of a very good standard for all inclusive! We never struggled at all and thoroughly enjoyed every visit to the restaurant and particularly enjoyed the theme nights especially the Turkish night! The deserts are gorgeous and look too good to eat! Breakfast was equally good with a superb choice from pancakes and cereals to fresh fruits, pastries, cheeses and meats. A special mention has to go to Yucel – the omelette boy! Every morning he would greet you with a smile and freshly prepare you delicious omelettes or eggs to order, this in despite of the rudeness he faced from certain guests! He was a true credit to the friendliness this hotel offers. The location of the hotel is spectacular and only truly appreciated as you lie in the sun looking up at the mountain as the para-gliders fly overhead like ballerinas in the sky, mesmerising! The swimming pool is a great size and provided our kids with hours of fun and the men for Water polo in the afternoons with Selcuk and Ali. Once again special praise must go to the animation guys as the two of them worked tirelessly and created a great fun atmosphere around the pool and bar during the days. From darts in the morning to water polo, air rifle shooting and football in the afternoons. Always smiling and chatting to everybody, they just embodied what the hotel was all about! Food is always available and during the afternoons the pancake lady always has a smile whilst dishing up her delicious snacks, then from 3-5 it is time for ice-cream!!!! Drinks from the bars are of a very good standard for all inclusive and some cocktails are available as well as Rum!!! We found the Tuborg beer fine and the wine was perfectly palatable! They had local substitutes for most spirits such as Malibu, Archers etc...All of which my wife thoroughly enjoyed! This hotel is great for families and is only two minutes walk from the Strip and 10 mins to the beach. The private beach club is idyllic and well worth several visits, a little touch of paradise! As a family we thoroughly enjoyed our time here, made friends and had a truly relaxing stay and seemed to be eating all day!!! We cannot praise the staff of this hotel enough as they are what make the hotel so special. We have stayed in different regions of Turkey in much larger resorts but they did not have the customer service of Suncity! We will be back! The McCormacksMore

Fantastic holiday and hard working staff and management

Dear Omer, Thanks for a great holiday; we were there 12th August to 26th August. A family of 5; me, my husband and our three children, two aged 14 and the youngest nearly 8 enjoyed two weeks at your hotel and we all loved it. Thanks to our travel agent, Prestbury Travel who requested for us to be put together, we were upgraded to a family suite which was fantastically spacious, thank you! One of the shelf drawers under the mirror in the master bedroom was tilting and needed fixing; I got introduced to the manager, Omer, by our holiday rep Zoe and mentioned this to him and it was fixed within a couple of hours. Zoe was great, always there if needed. Omer is very connected to the guests, constantly walking around working hard to improve things, often with an ear piece in talking on the phone regarding work, (not listening to music like some other person suggested!) There were enough sun beds each day to accommodate the busy August - they did purchase more sunbeds whilst we were there. The food was very good with breakfast until 10.30 which my children missed most days because they were having a lie in after late nights but you never went hungry as every day, except Sunday, the pancake lady was in the snack bar from around 11.30/12 with the most delicious sweet or savoury pancakes until 4pm - they are amazing!! The snack bar served basic food, usually burgers, chips and one other main choice with delicious salad (as always). The main restaurant served the usual delicious food, plenty of choice for anyone's taste; the waiters work very hard clearing your table quickly. The bar staff are very good and the lady in the reception knew what I liked to drink, so she used to say "white wine, red wine, Turkish Baylis"?! The entertainment team is brilliant. Thank you to you all! Ali always had my name down for the darts at 11 o'clock because he knew I would be up for it - I ended up in the pool 3 times! The price you pay for being a good darts thrower!!! Thanks Ali, Salcuk and Anil for making it such fun! My eldest son loved the remark from Anil about the tsunami when I had to dive into the pool! The water polo was just brilliant, I decided to take position as goalkeeper, a wise decision, as the boys like to score the goals, but they didn't get too many passed me!!!! My children loved to watch water polo and they still impersonate Anil saying, "shoot, I know the goalkeeper!" (It wasn't me by the way!). Lastly, Tweetypie is such a great guy and a fantastic photographer - thank you Tweety for lots of great family photos! We also went for the Turkish bath massage with Tweety and his team and it was absolutely great and worth every penny, we had fun, the children enjoyed their massage and I had the best massage ever, thank you. Thanks for a great holiday; we hope to return. Olu Deniz is stunning, beautiful surrounding mountains with all the paragliders in full view from the pool area - one of the largest (if not the largest) out door pools in Olu Deniz. Don't bring much Turkish Lira, exchange rate is very good here and most market stalls/shops prefer sterling and you possibly get more for your sterling. Best wishes, IngunMore

Great 10 days holiday at Suncity for Moira and Stan

Went to Sun City on the 14th October, all inclusive, booked up 4 weeks before hand. Previously tried to book certain hotels in Tenerife but all full up, thank god as would have missed our time at Sun City. Been to Olu Deniz 3 years ago and stayed at Turquoise hotel up the street but no way near as good as Sun City. We looked at all the comments on trip advisor which looked excellent, loved Omar’s comments on some of the moaners. We emailed Omar if we could have a refurbished room on the top floor and on arriving had room 833 which was just as we asked, only thing going up 3 flights of stairs each time especially as my wife had a knee replacement at the beginning of the year but she said its good exercise for it. Very efficient booking in, took a safe which compared to some places was quite cheap. Room really good, balcony small but ok, not much view but how long do you stay in your room, walk in large shower which was perfect, had 2 towel displays designed on the bed over the 10 days by the maid which were unreal. Telly good with lots of English channels for times when you are getting ready, plenty cupboard/drawer space. Only problem is could do with a couple of extra sockets but if you come prepared with multi sockets not a problem. Grounds are beautiful with all different trees and flowers, but which is why at times there are wasps about. 3 pools, one adults, (quiet pool) tried it for 2 days then decided to go to the main pool which also has a small children’s pool. Great pool with a great atmosphere. Never a problem with finding sun beds even though the hotel was busy for this time of year which we didn’t expect. There is a massive variety and choice of food whether it be breakfast/dinner or evening meal, I am the fussiest eater ever and I still had plenty to choose from. The omelette guy was exceptional, with both fried eggs and omelettes, never did get to know his name but talked to him every morning, he particularly liked my South African shirt. Bar staff really good and drinks were strong, go out into the street and the drinks were not as strong as the hotel, my wife is the barometer for that with her brandy as she can easily gauge the strength of each drink. Probably could do with more cocktails on the list but plenty of choice for the shorts and the beer was good. Never any waiting to get served. Hotel is excellent location to the main street with all the bars and restaurants just 5 minutes away. Has its own beach in the blue lagoon with its own free shuttle, the beach is really nice but you do have to pay for any food/drink there but again not a problem, wasps there as well but it must be the time of year. Large beach again just 5 mins walk away, you will see plenty of para gliders there. Did not see many of the night time shows, singer on several times at the bar area though was brilliant. Animation team Sel and Ali were excellent, (little and large as I called them), Omar you do not want to let these guys go as they are make the day and night, once I got to know them you don’t realise how good they are, I joined in the water polo, darts shooting etc and these guys always had us laughing, my nickname on the darts was sniper stan, we also had sniper Jim on the rifle shooting who hardly ever missed. I also seemed to get my fair share of raki when playing darts but its just like Pernod so not a problem. Met some great couples there, Lil and Trevor, the wasp eater from Liverpool , Tony and Jenny, hope your move goes ok, and everyone we got to know, the atmosphere there was excellent. Omar, we saw you walking round all the time getting involved and I know you act on a lot of the constructive comments that are passed onto you so here is one. There are 2 trees between the bar area and the childrens football/play area, you might want to think about stretching a net across to stop the ball coming across in the bar area and knocking the glasses over, a small thing but if the glasses shatter then they may injure people. Well a great 10 days at the Sun City for myself and my wife, this hotel is suitable for all ages, would recommend anyone who is going to Olu Deniz to stay at this hotel, I know we will be back.More

We stayed for a week from 11th Oct. Check in was one of the easiest we've had with the man on reception offering us a very welcome drink after a 6 hour delay from Gatwick. The location is great, at the foot of the mountains and minutes walk to the main strip. The pool was a little cool, but we took the free shuttle bus to the private beach the rest of the week. Couldn't ask for more. The sunbeds and parasols are free, there is a restaurant and toilet facilities. Such a peaceful relaxing place to spend the day. The water is lovely and clear and we enjoyed the swimming and fish watching. There are also pedalo's for hire. Enjoyed watching the paragliders from the beach, so much so I may even do it myself. Not sure what the adult pool was like as we had no need to try it. The food was lovely, I missed my omelette for breakfast when I got home. So much choice for desserts. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Seems like a good entertainment team if you wish to join in. We were happy just doing our own thing. Have one of Tweety's Turkish bath's, so relaxing. He will find you by the pool. All in all a fabulous holiday. My partner and I have been on a lot of holiday's, always enjoyed them but have never felt the need to go back. Not this one. Sun City we will be back next year.More
