Me and a pair of my friends booked ourselves a holiday at this hotel for a week - needless to say, the hotel's location is perfect - it's right next to the beach, and 30mins walk (5min in cab or dolus=local bus) away from bar street, which is the highlight of marmaris for people looking to party. The hotel rooms look good, are cleaned daily and as a whole the hotel has a really modern and fresh feel to it - especially when you stand in the reception area. Staff as a whole was friendly, but we had a minor occurence which overshadowed the service as a whole, which I will come back to later in this review. Quality of the breakfast and dinner was good, though I'll imagine one will get tired of it if staying for more than a week - Breakfast is almost the same every day(with only 1 or 2 dishes changed), but has a big selection of food to choose from. As for dinner - more dishes are rotating daily, especially the hot dishes, however, there is a daily dish which consists of various grilled meat, as a safe option for those that might run into an "unlucky day", where they don't want to eat the other stuff. All in all - food is highly recommended, especially when you take into consideration that we only paid 50pounds each for 7days of food.
Now for the negatives, which there are few of:
The Wifi: Not enough can be said about this - it's astonishing to me, how a hotel which holds such a high standard in about every other area, can be in such deep water when it comes to wifi. The signal is only on the groundlevel, and in some areas on 1st floor (though signal is bad), however, it doesn't stop there. Even in the areas where you get a full signal - it's a slow and inconsistent connection, which is unreliable to say the least. We sat in 2 floor restaurants with 10 x as good wifi as this hotel, and they weren't stellar restaurants, they were standard. If this problem is fixed, then this hotel is EASILY 5 stars, however, it was a constant annoyance that neither me or my friends could surf the net, without it being a hustle.
The other minor negative(which has no influence on the star rating, but serves more as a callout) as to do with the service, one waiter in particular to be specific. One morning, after a night of boozing, we went down to breakfast. One of my friends, who is decent at english, goes down to breakfast on his own, while me and the other friend get outselves ready. When me and the other friend finally get down to the breakfast table, we see 50euro lying on the table and a note with some random turkish name on it. We ask him what's up, and he said the waiter (who'd been very nice to us for the first two days), come and said something, which he could not fully understand. The waiter comes back and says something which sounds like "duty free", but it was pretty rusty english. We cannot really make out what he is saying, and since the name on the note has no meaning to us, we're reaching a languagebarrier. Waiter says "It's okay", picks up the 50euro and the note, and takes off. Ever since that, the waiter refused to wait our table - he didn't come back a single time to talk with us for the last 5 days, turned away when we walked towards him, started random conversations out of nowhere with whatever stood next to him to refuse saying hi, actually walked past our table when finished plates were clearly visible on the table, and I could list many more examples - the guy clearly acted like someone stole his candy. We later found out that he reacted to my friend saying we were going to rhodes, and he wanted him to bring back some turkish brand vodka apparently. I've never encountered such unprofessional service from a waiter before, and I'm actually quite sure he's one of the higher ups in the staff. Fortunately, the rest of the waiters continued to be a nice as they were initially, so this serves as a sole example, rather than an overall impression.More

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks during late July and early August 2015. It is a very nice hotel with wonderful staff however there are some issues that could improve things immensely.
Air conditioning in the hotel lobby was practically non existent despite the fact that it was close to 44'+ outside. This made it unpleasant to sit for long periods of time especially if you were trying to use the snail like wifi which was available in the lobby with the two roof mounted routers located above the lift doors. A water wall was located in the lobby area close to the restaurant but was not operational and would have made a major difference to the area.
We were half board but despite a number of dishes on offer each night after a few nights we found that the food began to taste very much the same in the restaurant. The breakfast was grand and the staff who work there could not have been nicer. The layout of the restaurant in front of the chef cooking the omelettes also posed problems as tureens containing other food was directly in front of him and people had difficulty accessing them. The restaurant had a great fruit selection but a number of people who wanted to take a piece with them i.e. a banana, were stopped and told that nothing was to be removed from the place. One lady, whose husband was a diabetic, was stopped despite explaining why she wanted the banana she had to leave it behind.
A little board on the way in does state no food is to be taken out but it is small and difficult to read.
The pool is very nice. That said if you want a bed you need to be down before 8am as all the beds become reserved with people placing their towels on them That is fair enough but what is a disgrace is that individuals book a bed and disappear for a few hours rather than use them. When a approached the hotel staff were not in the least bit interested. The only redeeming feature to this practise was that the beach always had beds available and the man who worked on it was a gentleman who went out of his way to help and assist you. When I say beach I should say a gravel shore line which was very sore to walk on so buy beach shoes from the MGM Store beside the hotel otherwise you will have very sore feet.
The staff in the pool bar were very nice although it does close early at 12:30am or so most nights. They sell 1 litre bottles of cold drinking water for 5tlr at the bar yet the same bottles can be bought for 1 tlr from the MGM Store which to me seems a bit extortionate. I know they need to make money but a 400% mark up I feel is a bit steep especially if you are downing 2 or 3 bottles each in the heat daily.
The sunbeds are old and in my opinion, as a safety officer, dangerous The canopies are held up on their poles using 6' posidrive screws with the shape pointed ends still in place and the canopies attached to the arms with copper wire (see photos) which I cut myself on. The bases are weighted down with heavy marble off cuts which could cause a nasty injury to toes if they fell off as well.
The raised area for the sun deck is also an accident waiting to happen. With no rail around it and a drop of 3ft into the water surrounding it is only a matter of time before someone misjudges the edge and has an accident.
Having listed all of the above it is still a lovely little hotel with excellent staff who work hard to make your stay very enjoyable. I do get the feeling however that management are cutting costs such as on the AC in the lobby. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are kept in first class order by the cleaners. A little investment would go a long way in turning a great hotel into an even better one!More

Health Spa at Sunrise Hotel
We didn't actually stay at the hotel - used the health spa/gym - which is FANTASTIC!!!
Ali Bilgen and his staff are very professional, and their treatments are WONDERFUL, and all at very reasonable prices. You must at least try the Turkish Bath.More
Just returned from sunrise had a two week stay have been here before and loved it but feel like the standards have dropped over last Couple of years paid extra for a sea view which we got but got half balcony has other half was covered with wooden slates wasn't impressed food wasn't up to much breakfast was ok only think if you asked for fried egg you would get one along with a plate full of oil with it from the miserable chef . Missed the old chef think will be giving this hotel a miss next year. More

Stopped here in June 2014. Was very impressed with the hotel as a whole. Hotel was always clean. We visited the on site Turkish bath which was very relaxing, but not the cheapest. Certainly worth the visit though. We would certainly return if we visited this area of Turkey again.More
