Away from the beach you can explore the maze of old back streets, trying out the local cuisine as you go in traditional bars and restaurants. Alternatively you can view the town from the Ottoman fortress before heading to the harbour to watch life float by. Discovering Turkey outside Marmaris is a real pleasure. A boat ride is a must with a huge amount of islands and large stretches of quiet coastline to be found. The awe-inspiring Graeco-Roman ruins at Ephesus are well worth the journey time. You may not have time to do everything, but you'll certainly want to come back for more.

When we arrived in Marmaris the hotel we had originally booked was full therefore we were moved to the Nergis Select. We could not have asked for a better hotel. It is lovely inside and very clean. We had a double room which was a very good size. ... more on this review
