This place is all about the pool. At a massive 60-metres long, it's bigger than an Olympic one. Shaped like a squiggly line, it comes with its own multi-coloured slide at one end. There's a kids' pool here, too, and a poolside bar complete with a lengthy cocktail menu. And because the pool area is so big, there's a massive sunbathing terrace as well. Dotted with tables, parasols and sunbeds, it's just the place to soak up some rays and admire the views of the mountains in the distance.

The hotel itself has recently been refurbished from top to bottom, so not only does it look good, but it's got some state-of-the-art facilities, too. As well as a gym and a plush indoor pool and whirlpool bath, there's a health centre offering saunas, massages and Turkish baths. There's also a hairdresser, jewellery shop and mini market here.

On the food front, you've got two restaurants serving up Turkish and international cuisine, and a trendy coffee bar offering drinks and pastries. Decked out in wooden floors, mahogany furniture and soft spotlights, it looks like it's been plucked straight from Italy.

The bedrooms, meanwhile, also know a thing or two about style. Neutral walls and simple tiled floors feature alongside royal red soft furnishings and dark wooden fittings. All of the rooms have got a balcony or terrace, and a lot of them come with a sea view as well. Each one has air conditioning and a satellite TV with British channels, too.

The location of the Grand Ideal Premium is also worth a mention. It's set on the edge of Marmaris, Turkey's liveliest resort, meaning shops, restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. You're right on the doorstep of an eight-kilometre-long beach, too, which stretches from Marmaris to the nearby town of Icmeler.
