Great hotel in vast surroundings.

We booked this hotel due to its location. Near enough to Marmaris centre if we wanted to visit but far enough out to avoid the neon & hustle & bustle. The hotel is located towards the end of the island & situated in a vast & beautiful forrest. Don't be fooled by the drive to the hotel, upon arriving I was struck by how grande it was. Marble floors & well a decorated reception. We booked & paid extra for a superior room. Our room was situated in the main building, floor 3 & near to all the immunities. The room was light & well decorated with 2 wardrobes & plenty of hangers. Storage down side - only 3 small draws. Bathroom had both a bath / shower & a walk in shower. English TV channels are limited the TV is well appointed. Our accommodation had 2 TV's. 1 in the main bed room & one in the adjoining bedroom / lounge. We traveled as a couple so used this as a lounge area instead of a 2nd bed room. For the ladies it's also worth noting the the hairdryer provided was great. Powerful & modern. It dried my hair no problem & I have very long hair. Pools are nice & there are plenty on sun beds. We swam in the pools a lot but most days found us down on the beach on one of the jettys provided for sun bathing. Bliss full & quieter than the main pool. There is an adults only pool which was a bit quiet for us & a relax pool which would have been great if not for its shady location. Not good for the ray catcher. Still a nice pool & worth a look. We dined in 4 of the 5 al a carte restaurants. The Chinese, Turkish & Steak house were amazing. There is a £8 supplement pp for the steak restaurant but it's well worth it. One of the best steaks I've ever had. The Italian was by far the worst. Service & food quality did not match the experience of the others. We are lunch every day down in the snack bar near to lemon cafe. Great food, good choice & a lot quieter than the main buffet restaurant. We are in here once, never again. I'd describe it as "feeding time at the zoo". It's massive, tables aren't cheated quick enough & my experience of certain nationalities pushing & being rude ensured we only ate in here once. There is another snack bar down on the beach, food here was terrible. Dry burger buns & brown lettuce. I'd stick to the main snack bar near the lemon cafe. Now, the lemon cafe. Wow! Delicious cakes & ice creams. It can get busy so go before lunch or later in the day. We don't have children but it's worth noting for those that do, the night time entertainment & kids activities are amazing. Staff are friendly, although the reception staff need a kick up the back side. They don't seem to know what they are doing on check in. We didn't feel obliged to tip anyone, we did however tip in the al a carte restaurants. They have a secure box as you walk in them all where you post the money as you walk out. No one but yourself will know how much you tip so there is no pressure. Now for the areas I feel they could improve. The maid service is terrible. 3 days she didn't leave us toilet roll & most days our towers had holes or rips in them. Not what you'd expect from a 5* hotel. You also have no idea what time she'll come. 3 days we got back to the room between 5 & 5.30 & she still hadn't been. We either sat on the balcony whilst she came in the tidy or we just asked for clean towels. My only other gripe is that you only get 1 room key. Additional keys have to be paid for. Finishing on a good note, we had no problem with wifi. You are given a code upon check in & as we were situated in the main building overlooking the adult only pool, we had no problem connecting in our room which was nice. Another good point is the hotel location. It's near enough to amenities, shops & restaurants (nearest a 2 min walk) but not right in the thick of it. If you are not fully mobile, I wouldn't recommend this hotel just because of its sheer size. Enjoy your holiday! More

Excellent Hotel

We had requested a centrally located room due to my having mobility problems but on checking in found we had been allocated one of the bungalows on the steep hillside. However, we spoke to our rep and customer relations and they were able to get us moved into the adult only block the next day. It did take a full 24 hrs but was well worth the wait as we had an adult only bar, restaurant and pool also, The Turkish and Steak a la carte restaurants were extremely good and the buffet restaurants had an excellent choice of foods so you will never go hungry.More

1 week stay was brilliant

I booked this hotel for me and my two daughters who are 9 and 10. We arrived and was impressed with our welcome. We were offered sandwiches and a nice little buggy ride to our room. Staff were all friendly and helped us get to know the layout of the hotel. The cakes/waffles/icecream were plentyfull!. Its a massive hotel. Food was brilliant. Our only complaint was no English sausage or bacon for breakfast. We had a fantastic meal in the Italian with a lovely view. We also enjoyed the Chinese. My girls loved the swimming pool and no problems with getting a sunbed. If you have an issue speak to the towel man and he will get you what you need. Plenty of shade in the kids pools so no issues. The sea and sunbeds are great. The Italian is open in the afternoon so we went down to the beach and had food and drink all afternoon. The beach belongs to the hotel. Security staff are brilliant. A shout out to "james Bond" who always made us feel welcome. We also had formal pictures done by the hotel photographer, brilliant quality and price. We did go to marmaris on a trip and did the Turkish bath. We enjoyed both. We defiantly would like to return one day. Could not find fault with the hotel and the services it does provide. Well worth the 5 star rating.More
