Mrs

Just been to hotel club turban april 2015 through thomsons holiday and from start to finish was excellent. No delays, transfer to hotel prompt and efficient. On arrival at hotel cases were sorted for us, we arrived at midnight and food was available for us. We were taken to our rooms via a golf buggy so did not have to struggle with our cases. Beautiful surroundings, lovely hotel and pools and entertainment team were great. Just had 10 full days of sunshine 28-30 degrees. Food good and the italian nite was fantastic. Lots of sunbeds near pool, on the jetty and the beach. Walk into marmaris is about 1hour 15 and walk into ishmaial about an hour, both beautiful places to visit, by taxi 10 mins and in english money about 6 pound. Boat trip to several islands including snorkelling and lunch cost 10 pounds for full day excursion great value for money but not ideal for families with small children. Water sports great value for jet ski hire 30 pounds for 15 mins. All in all cannot wait to go back i would reccommend Hotel club turban to anyone..More

jaynebirkett,

An amazing underrated hotel in Marmaris. We will definitely revisit

We booked the holiday through Thomson (2 Adults + 2 Children). On arrival at the hotel we were told to leave our baggage and grab a bite. This staff were very courteous and the Thomson agent had explained the process to us in the coach. After having dinner the queue had dampened and we filled the forms in got the key to our room and the porter asked us to identify our suitcases and they were moved to our room. Next day Thomson rep "Farah" came and gave us an intro most of which was useless marketing about booking excursions through Thomson. No info about the hotel amenities was given. ( I later found out that there were kids clubs, volleyball, rifle shooting, darts, and load of other activities for free in the hotel) The hotel room was very good with one queen size bed and one single bed. There was slight issue with air conditioning which never got resolved however the weather was not that bad at night and we were out of the room in day time so this was not a deal breaker. But make sure on day one that the ac in your room is functioning or contact guest relations on ground floor next to reception. Where should I start about the food. This hotel does not cut corner when it comes to food. There was bbq/grilled chicken, lamb, beef, turkey, salmon, seabass, various Turkish dishes every lunch time and dinner. They even have a section for people on diet. Turkish food is a bit bland so you will have to spice it up with peppers/chilles which are provided opposite the salad section. Once you have had starters and mains you will be spoilt for dessert. I counted one evening and there were more than 30 different options on dessert bar. There is also ice cream available which the kids loved. We ate out one night and after that appreciated our hotel restaurant much more. The variety and quality of food is amazing. We had a little one and needed milk etc, and the hotel was so courteous they gave us milk and they even have a microwave for parents to use to warm the milk up in the main restaurant which you can use anytime. We found the staff very courteous always smiling and willing to help. As there are Russians, Dutch, French, Turkish and British tourists staying at the resort not all staff are fluent in all languages. So be a bit patient if the staff don't understand you, but they will engage a colleague who will be able to communicate with you. Entertainment: Entertainment was the second best thing at this hotel after food. Mickey and Emir did a great job. This hotel has a dedicated team whose core job is to entertain and ensure the guests have a great time. We went to a Turkish night (paid excursion) and the next day the same dance group was brought in to the hotel to perform at the amphitheatre within the hotel. We were surprised at the effort this hotels puts on for kids and adult entertainment. Kids enjoyed dolly club and we enjoyed the evening entertainment at 9.15 We would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends and would not mind going back there. Few tips about Marmaris: Don't change the currency in UK unless you can get about 4 TL for 1GBP. When you arrive in Marmaris make sure the change office you use doesn't charge you the local tax. Some do and some don't so ensure this and it can cost you about £20 on £200 conversion. Needless to say I learnt the hard way. Excursions : There are too many agents. Haggle the price to 60% of original asking price. Book one excursion at a time and if it is good go back to the same agent to book more. Some excursions will charge you extra for drinks, food, photos, etc. So make sure you clarify this with the agent. Always take their telephone number incase the van is late in picking you up. TO give you an idea we did 4 excursions in the price of 1 from Thomson. So if you play your cards right you will be able to do more with your money.More

Rizwan A,

Beautiful setting

I travelled here during the Easter holidays with my Mum and 12 year old son. I had emailed beforehand requesting a quiet room on a high floor and we were not disappointed. We were upgraded to a family room in the main block on the 4th floor, which worked out even better for us as I didn't have to share a bed. I have some pain issues having fibromyalgia, but slept great every night on the single chair bed. We ate really well with fresh cooked omelettes for breakfast, all sorts of meat, salad or pasta for lunch (down near the beach with a lovely ice cream cone for pud) and were never disappointed at dinner time. Being before May, there were only 2 themed restaurants were available in the main building but can imagine how nice the others are once into the season. Our cleaner was brilliant and nothing too much trouble, We could get wifi in our room and also cartoon network (which my son enjoyed whilst we were getting ready) We could even get it on the beach! They have so many amenities, you can't fail to have a good time and waking up to our sea view and the quietness every day was a blessing. The weather was gorgeous too so we were very lucky and sad to leave.More

Joanne B,

Great hotel

Travelled with my husband for a weeks break to relax and this hotel did not disappoint. Flight with Thomson was good, transfer was also good. From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the hotel and service. We arrived around midnight and was not expecting food etc but we were directed to the dining room were there were lots of choice of things to eat and drink. Our room was no 1857, it was up a steep hill but was a lovely room with a lovely view and very clean. The room was cleaned to a high standard daily. The food was good and lots of choice. The only criticism I could find was the dining room was a bit disorganised eg the bread station was hidden away in a corner of dining room and butter was over the opposite end. Things were so spread out by the time you had your food and sat down to eat the food was almost cold. This wasn't a big problem to us but others were finding the same problems and maybe in high season when the hotel is busy it may be a problem. The grounds were lovely and immaculately clean and in a very good position with its own beach and jetty. Sun beds and parasols were plentiful. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definately return to this hotel but will go same time of year when it's quieter.More
