Blue Bay Platinum

This contemporary hotel lines up a city-centre location, a private patch of Marmaris Beach, and great pool and dining scenes.

The Blue Bay Platinum is set in the centre of Marmaris, with shops and bars on the doorstep. The harbour and old town are a few minutes’ drive away, and you’ve got a private section of next-door Marmaris Beach.

The hotel’s not long had a full makeover, so everything’s really contemporary – especially the bedrooms, with their blonde-wood furniture, beach-scene wall murals and aqua accents.

Great food, clean but some downsides

Food was fantastic, lots of choice and the rooms were very clean. Staff were polite and helpful. Beds were not very comfortable for me personally. The spa staff were too pushy with spa treatment sales and the entertainment were very irritating. Good location with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Would return if I came back to marmaris.More

Great Hotel and Ideal location to explore Marmaris and surrounding area

Just returned from fantastic two week stay at this lovely light modern hotel which was very busy throughout our stay. Weather very hot with temperatures in high 40's and low 50's. Reception staff extremely welcoming on arrival and continued to be friendly polite and helpful during our stay. All members of staff should be commended for their politeness and warm welcome to the guests. Room clean bright and comfortable with large walk in shower unit situated next to door. Large Lobby area which had some unusual features and colourful lighting. Barmen in Lobby Bar soon knew what drinks we had and would make sure to have refills available when needed. Dining room staff ensured tables clean and set for use even when busy period. Pool areas were busy from early morning until late evening. No beds can be reserved. Someone is employed within the hotel to ensure no towels are left on beds before 8.00 a.m. Should this be the case towels are removed immediately and placed neatly near pool side for visitors to retrieve when they eventually resurface. There are notices in the lifts and around the complex to make everyone aware of this rule and yet we witnessed people leaving towels out from as early as 6.40 a.m on some days only for these to be collected and removed so that beds were not reserved unnecessarily . This was quite acceptable to the majority of holidaymakers but some guests did take exception to their possessions being removed even when shown the rules and regulations sheet. One person proceeded to throw every towel off the table where they had been neatly placed as they were so annoyed that someone had the audacity to touch their towel which had been left out about an hour earlier! I would add that as an early riser we did not have a problem finding beds however for anyone not up early there may be a issue attempting to get a subbed near/next to pools. Cleaning was constant in public areas and staff always tried to ensure empty glasses or plates were cleared away from walk areas. Entertainment Team extremely energetic - lively and loud - working long hours encouraging people to take part in the many varied activities available. Music was on from about 10.00 a.m every day and the team also went out every evening with any guest who wished to go clubbing locally. Noise levels high throughout the daytime. Farrah the Thomson Rep worked really long hours with her busiest days being Monday (when she never stopped all day) and Thursday. Hardworking helpful and friendly always she tries to ensure everyone has a fabulous time during their stay . Easy to access Harbour, Promenade, many many shoos and buses to go to Icmeler which is fabulous and has lovely safe area to swim in the sea directly from beautiful sandy beach. Great Vanilla Patisserie open from 11.30 until 6.00 every day for coffee and cake. Two negatives during this holiday. 1) No dress code seemed to be in place during our stay and we found this quite odd considering how highly we and others rated this hotel. We ate quite late of an evening (8.30 -9.00) and yet on some occasions people entered the dining hall in inappropriate clothing appearing at times to have came straight from the beach or Gym. This was mentioned to hotel staff and we understand that the member of staff responsible for ensuring smart casual dress code was implemented at evening meal time had recently left but they would ensure it was looked at and steps would be taken to rectify 2) Beach area for hotel use was accessed over an undeveloped area of land that brought you to section of promenade. Beach next to promenade was staffed by people wearing Cuba T-shirts which is a Al A Carte restaurant within Blue Bay Platinum Hotel. Situated about five minutes walk away at rear of hotel the area reserved for guests was not in an ideal place and beds are very limited. Much easier to pay 4TL and travel on local bus to Icmeler, where many beds are available the beach is lovely and sea safe to swim in. Lots to do within the vicinity and great base to explore further. Definitely hoping to return and would recommend to othersMore

Nice Hotel but some negatives

I have just been for two night, on arrival the reception staff were very polite and we were given a free upgrade which was great. The room was lovely, however the bed was extremely hard so I didn't sleep well. Food was ok, plenty to choose from. Location of hotel was good, walking distance to most things. The negatives: - WIFI doesn't work in the room, you need to go to the reception area to use. - When we arrived at lunch time, we sat down with a drink and within 20 mins we were a approached by the spa guy to try and sell us a spa treatment then followed by another guy trying to sell a meal at the attached restaurant. (please give guests chance to settle in!!!). - We found the main pool like a 18-30 holiday with the entertainment team. We ended up having to go around the quiet pool every day. (I would like to add here the girl at quiet pool bar was lovely and very polite). When you pay good money for a 4-5 star hotel, you expect to use all 3 pools not hide away around the corner pool get away from all the loud music. So in a nutshell, if you are youngest couple/family who love to party, loud music and games this is the hotel for you. If you are wanting a quiet luxury, sophisticated, romantic holiday I wouldn't recommend this hotel.More
