Blue Bay Platinum

This contemporary hotel lines up a city-centre location, a private patch of Marmaris Beach, and great pool and dining scenes.

The Blue Bay Platinum is set in the centre of Marmaris, with shops and bars on the doorstep. The harbour and old town are a few minutes’ drive away, and you’ve got a private section of next-door Marmaris Beach.

The hotel’s not long had a full makeover, so everything’s really contemporary – especially the bedrooms, with their blonde-wood furniture, beach-scene wall murals and aqua accents.

A wonderful stay at a great hotel

We have just returned from a great relaxing holiday at this wonderful hotel, which we thoroughly enjoyed from the very warm welcome on our arrival to the personal goodbyes on our departure! The rooms were lovely and kept immaculately clean. We loved the rainforest showers and found the little blue light very useful at night time. All the staff from the waiting and reception staff to the Entertainment team were most welcoming and attentive. We enjoyed the variety of food very much and although the snack bar wasn't up and running till after we left we visited the patisserie on most days and couldn't really have eaten any more. We really enjoyed the wraps we had on our final lunchtime, which were a good sign of things to come later in the season. We walked into Marmaris on most days along the promenade as the youngest member of our family loved the play areas on the way. The fountains are really beautiful and we also visited the old town, the Marina and the castle. We used the local taxis to come back which were really good value for money. We also made use of the spa pool on most days as because it was early in the season the outdoor pools were not very warm! There are plenty of areas to sit outside and the poll area near the front of the hotel is an hidden gem! We also loved the seated areas near the Sea side bar. Many thanks to Michelle our holiday rep and Nicola and the hotel Guest services for all their help and attention.More

A wonderful holiday

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Blue Bay Platinum Hotel and all I can say is WOW! We travelled as a family of four consisting of me, my husband and two daughters aged 8 and 11. On arrival we found the hotel receptionist very helpful indeed. We were shown straight to our two-bedroom family room (3104) which was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The view from our balcony was not great at all, but we would go on to spend very little time in our room, so it proved not to be a problem. There was also very little sun on our room, which sometimes left it a little cool, but this could be advantageous in the summer months. It was however quieter than some of the rooms that overlooked the pools, which suited us fine, and we would definitely stay in the same block of rooms again. The cleaners work very hard and will make up your room as often as you require, replacing bedding, towels and bottled water. There was never a day where we could fault the food, and there was always something available for everyone; even my daughter who can be a really fussy eater. I also suffer from a gluten and dairy intolerance, but again, I never had a problem finding something suitable. The food ranged from traditional Turkish to good old British foods such as fish and chips. It was very well presented, well stocked and replenished constantly. Just like the cleaners and everyone else working for the hotel, the waiters (especially Mustafa!) and chefs work so hard and nothing is ever too much trouble. The outdoor snack bar was not open initially when we first arrived, but opened up during the second week of our stay. Fully equipped with brand new cooking facilities, the hotel began providing delicious, fresh snacks at the poolside between 11am and 6pm. There is an on-site patisserie that has available a wide variety of tasty treats. We couldn't believe that so few people used this inclusive facility, and we would definitely recommend it. With regards the all-inclusive drinks, it was the usual locally sourced beer, spirits and wines, with cocktails made on request. Sometimes the newer bar staff didn't understand our order but allowed us to point out what we wanted and even made a cocktail for us by letting us tell them what we wanted in it. There are help yourself water, juice and hot drink dispensers all around the site and you can serve yourself soft (fizzy) drinks at the snack bar until 11.30pm. Alcohol can also be ordered at meal times in the restaurant. We have to stress how friendly and welcoming ALL the entertainment staff were. They always had time for a chat and never pestered us to take part in the games programme, always taking no for an answer the first time, on the few occasions where we didn’t want to get involved. They would often sit with guests at meal times which the children loved. We did hear someone complaining about this but also heard the same people complaining about other trivial stuff – say no more! A special mention for Dodo (the lead entertainer) and ‘Fatty’ who were fantastic; the others were just as great, but unfortunately there are too many to list! We also took advantage of the indoor pool which was amazing!! I have never been in such a warm, relaxing pool. As a family, we also made use of the spa facilities, with my husband and I having a private Turkish Bath and the children a ‘Chocolate Massage’. We all really enjoyed this and would recommend it. Kasim was great and showed us around before our treatment. The spa area was immaculately clean and again the staff very friendly. It is a little more expensive than what you would pay off site but as a couple or family you have private use of the sauna, steam room and Turkish Bath, so it was well worth the money. Out of the hotel we travelled by bus to the Castle and Marina area of Marmaris. There is a bus stop to the front of the hotel, you will need to catch the bus with a ‘turquoise stripe’ and pay the driver 2 TL per person once on board. The price is the same no matter how long the journey. A word of warning, the castle is closed on Mondays which we found out after a long hot walk. We then returned a few days later by bus, the entrance fee is 8TL for adults and children were free. The view from the castle top is amazing but there are a few steep steps to walk up to the castle and again once inside. There are plenty of shops and bars around the Marina area and although we didn’t eat there, they all looked clean. We also took a ‘orange stripe’ bus to Icmeler which is also 2TL each. There is a taxi boat to Icmeler too at 12.50 TL pp, but we didn’t use this as it was a little windy and cool out at sea during our April stay. Although we didn’t spend much time on the beach, we did do a lot of walking along the sea front. This is a lovely flat walk and took around 30 mins to walk with children to the Marina. The promenade is lined with café and bars which at the time of our stay were just preparing to open. However, the few that were already open tried their best to get us to sit down and to eat or drink. A polite no thank you always did the trick and they left us to carry on our way. Shops sell everything you could wish for at very reasonable prices which can be brought down in price by a little haggling. We would definitely return to this hotel and although we stayed a little earlier than the true holiday season, we had great weather and a fantastic stay. Thank you Blue Bay!More

Maria M,

A great relaxing holiday

We arrived quite late at the hotel and our first impression of the Blue Bay was that it looked stunning. There were a load of us booking in at the same time which meant that there was a lot of queuing but drinks were brought out whilst we waited. We eventually booked in and were taken to our room (2404), this again did not disappoint as the room looked exactly as it did on the website. It was spacious and modern, with a fridge, kettle, tea, coffee and bottled water. It had a reasonable sized balcony which overlooked the pool. The room was spotlessly clean and the maid service at the hotel was fantastic. The room was cleaned daily (my wife is a bit of a clean freak but even she was impressed by the standard of the cleaning). The food at the hotel was amazing, both the selection available and the quality. The chefs are at the food stations preparing more food as it ran out. The staff in the food hall were excellent, there were always a large number in attendance clearing up after you and always happy to help. I have never eaten so much and so well as I did at the Blue Bay. Around the pool there was never a shortage of sun loungers, I know we went early in the season (April) but there were still lots. The pool area like the rest of the hotel was spotlessly clean, there always seemed to be someone clearing up or cleaning. I would like to say a big thank you to the entertainment team, especially DoDo, Joseph and Fatty. My wife and I are getting on a bit so do not go in for the pool games, but all the entertainment team were very friendly and we had some good chats. I have to single out Fatty (Fatih), he was as mad as a box of frogs and always made both me and my wife laugh. There were two bars at the hotel, although you could get drinks with your meals, the main one by the hotel reception always seemed a bit crowded, so we preferred to go to the Sea Side bar. Again I would like to thank the manager Huseyin and his staff. They were all very friendly and ready with a top up. On the whole I would recommend this hotel to anyone, it is very modern and clean, the food and drink is fantastic, but its best point is its staff, they are all friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them.More

Very nice and modern

Nice and modern hotel for any kind of trip. Cosy rooms, tasty food. Very comfortable location not far away from the city center and about 100 meters from the beach. If you are looking for entertainment - opposite the hotel there is a travel agency office - stuff there are very kind and guys speak Russian, English, Dutch and Polish languages. Prices are very tasty ;) Hotel is the perfect combination of modern style and comfort. More
