The Sun Apartments are set on the outskirts of Marmaris, just a 5-minute drive from the town centre’s sandy beach, restaurants and nightlife. That’s not to say it’s overly loud here, though – surrounding gardens keep the atmosphere nice and peaceful.

The daytime focus is around the pool area, where there’s a separate space for little ones to swim, and a poolside bar that serves hot snacks alongside views of the area’s distant green hills. For proper meals, there’s the hotel restaurant, which dishes up local and international favourites. There’s also a weekly Turkish barbecue with kebabs and traditional dancing.

This hotel gets a lot of repeat guests, and many of them comment on the brilliant entertainment. The staff go all out to show everyone a good time, with karaoke nights, magic shows and fancy dress competitions laid on each week.

With a stunning setting in a natural bay surrounded by wooded mountains, Marmaris is one of the largest and best-developed of Turkey's resorts, located 100km from Dalaman airport, on the southwest coast. The wide, palm-lined seafront promenade follows the line of Uzan Yali Beach - a long, narrow strip of dark volcanic sand overlooked by a jostling collection of bars, cafés and restaurants. A good range of motorised watersports are available within designated safety areas. Marmaris' Old Quarter is a maze of narrow streets packed with old houses, tiny traditional bars and the colourful shops and stalls of the bazaar, and leads to Netsel Marina where sophisticated restaurants overlook elegant yachts. Marmaris boasts more than one thousand restaurants - catering from traditional Turkish cuisine to fast food! Bar Street and the main promenade offer great bars and clubs for late-night partying and dancing. Icmeler is poised on Turkey’s southwest Mediterranean coast, about eight kilometres from the bazaars and marina of larger Marmaris.
