Our Home In Turkey
First of all I must apologise for the lateness of this review. For some reason (age I think) I thought that I had reviewed our last holiday (September) at the Club Evin. I was wrong and on checking my records I have just realised my error. This may have been my mind trying to make me forget that whilst there I had been very ill. We had only been at the hotel a few hours when Jean went down with cystitis I soon followed with a very bad urine infection. Jean self treated successfully with a potion she got from the local chemist. However, being a man, I just got worse. After a couple of days of suffering, Mr. Mehmet the hotel owner, phoned a doctor. The doctor sent a car for me and made his diagnosis. The prescription he gave me did the trick, but it took a total of twelve days for me to be able to sit comfortably by the pool. I was not in hospital but the treatment that I had from the owner, management and staff of the Club Evin was easily equal to that which I would have received had I been in one! This enforced incarceration did have one positive side effect. We ate more meals at the hotel than we would have done had we been able to go out and about. Light meals at first it is true. Omelettes, poached and scrambled eggs were all eaten with gusto. Everything delicious to a hungry invalid. Soon I moved on to rice dishes and steaks. The food, I am sure, was a great aid to my recovery. The only downside was the two week course of anti biotic tablets that stopped me having any alcoholic beverages. Luckily we were booked in for three weeks so I did get out for a few days and a few drinks at the end of our holiday. In the end it was due to the wonderful people of the Club Evin that ad any sort of holiday at all. Peter & Jean. :o)More
Typical Turkish Hotel
Visited in August with my Girlfriend and our mates. I must admit I did expect a little bit more from this hotel going by the reviews on here, that is not to say it was a bad hotel and I did enjoy my stay, the good points were the staff were very helpful and friendly, they constantly keep a smile which must be hard doing the same entertainment over and over again. The cleaner were also really good and kept the rooms and the general hotel fairly clean which has not always been the case in a lot of hotels in Turkey. The hotel did have a lot of entertainment on each night but was lacking a little through the day, the same songs were played over and over and there was not any poolside entertainment which I think on a 2 week holiday is needed. The pool itself is fairly small but that is pretty obvious before booking and does get the sun throughout the day so again no complaints on that front, it is fairly close to the main stretch in Marmaris and you can find it pretty easy by following the sewage pits. The food I only tied through the day but this was fairly nice and the mains also looked nice, the best part of the entertainment was the Turkish Night which was a good laugh and they had some pretty good acts as well which was impressive. Overall I enjoyed my stay without it being spectacular but for couples this is an ideal venue to go away and get a break from, they also have a pretty cheap option to upgrade to half board when in the hotel so I would suggest doing self catering and if you decide you want to eat in the hotel when staying upgrading at that point and online before the trip.More

Thomson used to take up most of the summer capability in the Evan so in season we were often forced elsewhere. However as in common with all big companies they arbitrarily drop their take up to suit themselves. We always make a point of stopping in, if only for a drink, a meal or the entertainment. Great value and staff if you can get yourselves booked in. Through Thomson or privately.More
definatly home from home
we are in our 70s but still mobile as we had a lovely room on the 2nd floor, very clean and clean towels were plentiful, the staff were first class from ,tj, ozzie jack, murat and the owners mermet and ali, nothing was too much trouble. the food was of good quality but could do with it being hotter by time it gets to your table. a special mention about isobelle who is a gem even the smallest complaint she acts to rectify zzit, now DOTwho runs the entertainment in the evenings a good laugh, some good quizzes and caberet acts, now not forgetting PAM in reception, amind of information ,in all a well run hotel great staff and a great holiday, have booked for 2017More
A little jem
We spent a week there in September and what a lovely clean little hotel it is, every one is so friendly and helpful, from the owner to the lady who does the rooms. By their own admission the hotel is not disabled friendly with no lift and lots of steps so anyone that has mobility problems this is not for you also it is about a 15min walk to get to shops or bars but a local bus will take you to the centre for about 50p.The hotel charges extra for a/c.tv.and safe and Turkey is eone of those countrys where you have to put used toilet paper in a bin instead of flushing it down the loo.We went self catering but took the hotels half board offer as it was a lot cheaper than the travel agent at home offered, the food is EXCELLENT and you could eat steak every night if you want and on our last day the owner give my wife a big bag of Turkish Delight to eat on the plane. A big thanks again to all who helped us enjoy our holiday. More
