"First visit to Turkey"
Just returned from 2 weeks at Elvin. The hotel is cheap and cheerful but runs very efficiently, because of all the hard working and friendly staff, from Mo on the front desk to Jack the most amazing hard working lovely chap. The cleaners were superb, we had clean sheets & towels often. Kitchen minimum equipment, but depends what you want to use it for. Take mugs as they only supply very small coffee cups. The hotel is dated but clean (although is a fairly new block, which we did not see but heard it was great). Good family hotel, the staff are fab with the children. Nice clean pool, sufficient sunbeds. Food and drink reasonable price and enjoyable. Hotel entertainment was ok mainly made up of staff and guest, at times was funny (depending on how many BOGOF cocktails!) after 2 weeks the music drove us mad, same day and night. Was noisy at night, although stopped around midnight. This is our view and again depends on what you like and are looking for. Be prepared to pay extra for air con, safe and TV. Which does add up over 2 weeks. We didn't bother with any of it. We slept with patio door open, felt safe and it was adequate. Air con is noisy. Go to Uncle Johns to book your trips half the price of Thompson, speaks good English and good prices (ask Mo on front desk). Fair walk to the beach, especially on a hot day, but buses are regular and cheap 2L about 50p to go anywhere. Local beaches are not great a little like a dusty road and stoney, with big bolders in the water, take jellies. Trips on boats are lovely and help with the heat! The ferry boat is takes you to Turnc or Icemeler for 15L one way, cheap criuse for an hour with lovely views. Fab trip to Daylan, saw the Turtles, but please don't eat the blue crab they offer, this is the Turtles main food source and we are eating it. The WORST part was the hassle from the Turkish shop keepers/ restaurants, wanting to sell you their tat, if you stop to look at the menu,(which you never get to read!) they are on you, it was uncomfortable and unpleasant, one couple got trapped in a shop for an hour! So you do have to be rude, hard because its not our way or our custom. Keep clear of the small back streets.More
Firstly, We had a fantastic time at Club Evin, but i can't understand how people rave on about it so much? We have been to Marmaris 3 times now and have been to 2 nicer hotels. Then went to Club Evin. We wanted Cheap and Cheerful... and thats what club evin is, Cheap and cheerful. Yes it is very well run (like every other hotel in Marm) the staff work endlessly (Like every other hotel in Marm) its spotlessly clean (Like every other Hotel in Marm) the pool was spotlessly clean (Like every other hotel in Marm) PLUS... The reason why you dont have to 'reserve a sunlounger' is because the hotel isn't full. I sound horrible, but my point is, this is a very average hotel, but the staff are very nice the grounds are very nice. The rooms are in desperate need of a revamp. At the moment the rooms are of an Average blackpool hotel, kind of standard. Made better by the phenomenal job the cleaners do. The beds are also shockingly uncomfortable (But this is just an opinion) I also didnt like the fact that Air Con was extra, a TV was extra (And the TV is a 1990s TV Video combo) and safety deposit box is extra. To Summarise: If you want cheap and cheerful then Club Evin is perfect for this. If you want comfort and a bit of luxury spend the extra £300 and go to one of the nicer hotels in Marmaris. This is a Honest review from a couple that didn't have a bad time at Club Evin by any means, but there is no way we can give this hotel 5 stars when we have been to other places for not much more money that where twice as good. Fantastic, friendly hotel!
Just returned from a week at Club Evin, cannot rate this place enough, absolutely fantastic staff, amazing food, great location and exceptionally clean. Staff cannot do enough to make you welcome. Will definitely be looking to book a stay next year.More
Just returned yesterday from this fantastic family run hotel. We arrived at 6.30am and were greated at the reception with a very warm welcome. We were booked in in no time at all and escorted to our room (2012). This was not a room really but a very spacious 2 bedroomed apartment, this by far is he most space we have ever had. Ot was very clean and well presented. Lots of storage for our belongings and a nice kitchen dining/living area. Not that we used it except for making a brew. From minute one all the staff made us feel like we were long lost family returning back home. They all were absolutely amazing. From dawn to the wee hours they constantly delivered the highest and most personal level of service I have ever received.Nothing and I really do mean nothing was to much trouble. The pool area was spotlessly clean and you never needed to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed. The on site restaurant and bar (Revolution),served a wide range of food and drinks and offered themed nights as well. All at very reasonable prices. We ate lunch here everyday and we were not disappointed. Mo,TJ,Ozzy,Alex and Ally were absolutely fantastic. TJ is the funniest most energetic person I have had the pleasure to meet. It was shame we had to leave. For our family it was that personal touch which really did make all the difference. We weren't just another guest in and endless line.Thankyou for making this a truly wonderful holiday. We will be back.More
Amazing staff and atmosphere - we will be back
This is our first stay at Club Evin and it has been so good we are booking next year again - dont think we will stay anywhere else in Marmaris from now on - might have a 3 star rating but its definitely 5 star from us for the staff, atmosphere, food, accommodation and pool. We loved every minute of our stay. Pedro, TG, Zak and the rest of the guys have been great and always go that extra mile to ensure everyone has a great time, they have certainly made our 2 weeks here the best holiday we have had. Isobel, Dot and Mo are lovely - really friendly and helped with anything if and when we have needed it. Club Evin is the best place I have had a holiday. Our apartment was spotless and comfortable and the ladies who clean it keep it that way throughout our stay. We were in a one bed room apartment - plenty room and seats etc so could easily have accommodated more than just the two of us. It was basic but had everything you need for a holiday base. Air con is definitely needed and the security safes are more secure than other places I've stayed (we had a key and reception had one but the safe could only be opened using both keys - not an issue as reception is covered 24/7) - like every other hotel I've stayed in there is an additional charge for both - not a problem with that at all, we expected there to be. I can highly recommend the Club Evin Spa - we have been for a few treatments and the girls have been great - definitely have a Turkish bath and also get a massage from them if nothing else. We have eaten in a few different places during our stay but always come back to Evin as the food and service is excellent. Turkish night is a must. Well done to this family run hotel for creating a friendly, fun but relaxed place to kick back and enjoy Marmaris.More
