Club Candan

These popular apartments come with a big lagoon pool and a waterside restaurant. The beach is just down the road, too.

This place has a big lagoon pool that comes complete with a waterslide. On the dining front, there’s a poolside restaurant that hosts a Turkish night every week – expect barbecues and belly dancing.

It’s in a peaceful spot just a 10-minute walk from the middle of Marmaris. And the marina’s even closer. It’s also about a 10-minute stroll to the sand-and-shingle beach.

Not impressed!

I stayed here for ten nights from the 4th August with my parents and my sister. I will start by saying i usually stay 5* all inclusive so this is very different from what I like but we just wanted a base for exploring. It was very hot when we went 45 degrees most days! Far too hot to go out wandering to often. Couldnt walk barefoot anywhere so flipflops a must. We took the short walk past restaurants down to the "beach" it was nothing short of awful. Sand far too hot to walk on and it was rough anyway, looked like crumbled concrete. Im a beach operson so was very disappointed. Villa Dreams and Summer rain were both within 5 minutes and served amazing food in big portions with great service! Each time the four of us ate and had juice or tea with meals we spent around 100TL (approx £29!!!). Another absolutely stunning place to eat out at was Panorama. It hard to describe where it is but basically if you follow the beach round to the maring and look up to the left above the other overpriced restaurants you will see the glowing sign. This place only seats about 25 people and is quite a climb up narrow steps to get to but once youre up there the views are second to none! So the hotel itself... a man named Hassan behind reception was unbeliveably rude to me! As previously mentioned by other sunbeds around the pool are being taken in the middle of the night as early as 1am! People were sleeping on them in the dark to keep them despite there being a sign in reception advising towels will be removed before 8am and after having been left for an hour! When i asked when people started leaving them so I might have a chance to get one the following day he threw his arms in the air sighed and said he wont deal with it speak to holiday rep! Working for Thomson myself I know full well she couldnt of helped as its hotel descretion! PIG! The entertainment and bar staff though were as amazing as everyone says. Im not a fan of lively tacky entertainment and was a bit dubious of this but this was quite amusing to watch and you werent pestered to join in. The cleaners could do with putting in far more effort. Slinging a dry cloth over sunbeds and tables isnt getting the job done. Sunbeds were the main issue with this place. You have to get up at 4am to get one.. then the chances are it will be broken and you willl have to move tables and parasols to get into it anyway as they are all ontop of one another! I done a fair few excursions as well. Feel free to message me for more in depth info but I done Dalayan check out on our last day as we had night flight.. 100% recommend this the area is stunning and you get a lot included boat trip on a river, dalayan beach is stunning (saw a turtle!!), lunch, mud baths and thermal pools! Ephesus was soo interesting would do this again as well! It was really hot and involves quite a bit of walking on uneven surfaces but it was beautiful. Pammukale was amazing too! I prefered this one. Be warned though the surface of the pools was ridiculously slipperly as were the paths around them due to the calcium people were falling over everywhere! There was plenty more to do here though, the views are amazing and there is also a museum in the grounds too which has a small cover charge to get in. It is made up of many small buildings and unfortunately we didnt have long enough to get round them all. We also done a boat trip to Turunc which were werent told to take swimwear for. We had more time on the boat and in the water than actually at Turunc market which was beautiful when you got there and the ice cream was lovely! Finally dalaman airport is a joke be prepared for a long hot wait! All in all this hotel is OK, location is good, beach is apalling, food out was wonderful but I wouldnt return to Marmaris anytime soon there are much nicer places to see!More

Excellent holiday

Returned on 4th September after two week stay. Never been to Turkey before so was a bit worried, but it surpassed our expectations. Hotel was lovely and kept very clean, staff are lovely and entertainment team, Cookie, Ozzy and Honey are just brilliant. There is no microwave in the apartments which we have had in other self catering apartments, but overall enough to cook a meal. There isn't enough storage for clothes but again we never find there is, however, the rep did arrange for an additional wardrobe to be delivered which was great. Food is nice here though not as cheap as you can get it from other places. Queen Vic was very good value and although cheap the food was lovely. Its a short walk from these apartments. Go to the Harbour/Marina and recommend Cafe Roma, Three Palms Restaurant and 'O' Yes for evening meals. On the beach try the Viking Beach for a fantastic breakfast and Bono's for an evening meal was just superb! Sunbeds were a bit of an issue but this was sorted out (near the end of our holiday) but again this is something you kind of expect on holidays! All in all a fantastic time for me, my husband and our two girls 6 & 8, we hope to visit again next year.More

Just returned from club candan had lovely time .2adults one teenager and a twenty five year old. Stayed in two bedroom apartment on fourth floor, kept clean every day only new towels twice a week but maids very helpful.reception staff very friendly and helpful.aircon in bed rooms very good .weather very hot only sat in shade couldn't understand the made rush to burn in sun everyday we still managed a decent tan even not sitting in sun.our youngest daughter managed to get a nasty burn on her leg the second day of the holiday and the hotel paramedic was fantastic looking after her and regularly changing dressing and making sure no infection appeared.I can't fault any of the staff they were all very friendly and caring as I walk with a stick and my husband has a heart condition.Orlando helped me to and from the pool making sure I didn't fall on slippery floor.honey cookie and Ozzy the entertainment staff checked on us every day and made our stay enjoyable and had us in husband Paul and Ozzy the entertainer invented a new language of whistles.the restaurant staff were fantastic especially Jan and Ozzy who enjoyed many a conversation and they made sure our requests were met.the owner was there every day making sure things were up to scratch and was very friendly.would definitely go back this is a very good self catering hotel clean friendly staff very close to all amenities easy walking distance .hotel restaurant very good value large portions ,there are other places to eat close but several people told me that on one day food good the next not .we didn't try any other eateries as we always had good food at the hotel .BBQ night very worth while and good value .More

Excellent stay

Just returned from a week at Club Candan. Travelled with my partner. Excellent accommodation and location, about a half hour walk and you're at the marina area. Apartments were large and very clean. Free air con in the bedrooms which is unusual as normally places try to charge you extra. Pool is lovely but very busy and most people got up early to put towels on beds. Restaurant/snack bar provided a great variety and not too pricey. Excellent selection of breakfast if staying bed and breakfast. The staff work very hard and were happy to help. Only downside for us was the entertainment team. A lot of positive reviews on here but we just didn't get it! Are they for children or adults as they didn't seem very accommodating to children?! I think people would've have had just as good a stay without them. Overall an excellent base, clean, friendly and reasonably priced. Quite noisy at times and very family oriented so if you're looking for a quiet couple holiday maybe look elsewhere. More
