A nice value for money hotel in an amazingly beautiful country
We had a lovely stay in this hotel for a week at the end of August into September.
It was our first time visiting Turkey and we under-estimated how beautiful Turkey was going to be. We went as part of a Thompson's holiday package and our rep Sam was great.
Club Aida was a great value option and its in a great location with easy to access buses that run outside the hotel. They lead to the Marina which has amazing restaurants and also the Grand Bazzar for great shopping.
You can also walk a few minutes from the hotel to a small supermarket to fill up on supplies for your room which are more competitively priced than the hotel shop. This is also adjacent to a great restaurant which had great food, great service, great ambiance at a good price!
A quick over view of other services the hotel offers:
Turkish bath - A huge highlight of the trip, staff were great and having the spa to ourselves was a great plus point. Like the rest of the hotel its so clean, we had a fantastic experience for all the family. From my 74 year old Dad to my 4 year old son who they gave a chocolate covered bath followed by the soapy bubble bath.
Tattoo parlor - The Tattooist was great, my husband got the boys names done for a fraction of what we pay in the UK.
Hairdressers - My husband and Dad got hair cuts and shaves which were again very inexpensive. The guys down there are great, very friendly and you can get appointments too.
Manicure and Pedicure - I have to be honest, both experiences here were average. They need to invest in nail bars or at least somewhere you can lean other than her lap. The pedicure was a soak in a tub of warm water - just to manage expectation for anyone considering this. I had shellac nails done and the varnish came off after a day so I went back for a touch-up which was fine with them.
Kids club - this was also great as Leah was English. They did various fun activities including a PJ party. You had to pay for that party but all other activities my boys did were free. It was a great way to keep them out of the sun on occasion.
Games room - not great. Lots of machines not working or that swallowed the tokens etc.
Pool side entertainment - good fun, great energy from those guys. I would say if you don't like noise then you cannot avoid that here.
Pool's - The main pool is big enough, there were always sun beds and the pool was never crowded. The kids pool was great especially the slides which I think the adults loved as much as the kids
Evening entertainment - started too late for our boys, our little one was shattered by the time it got going. It was just OK in my opinion but its because I can only compare it to the better options I have experienced. The one bit I did think was great was early evening they do a bouncy castle for the little ones which was a welcomed treat.
Food - some meals were great, others just OK. Breakfast is VERY fillingif you go full English. I would recommend buying the full board package for 4 days if you are there for a week as you can then sample other locations in the area or the Marina which has amazing food. The restaurant service varied if I'm honest. The Turkish night can't be missed!!! Another great highlight. Huge selection and just a fabulous night all round, that was held on a Wednesday. There is a separate waffle station and ice cream area with amazing chocolate cake. We were frequent visitors there throughout the day.
Other services - You do not carry cash which is great, you load all your money onto a card which is how you pay for any goods in the hotel and this was great in terms of giving it to the boys too and managing our spend. You do have to pay for Air conditioning, which was necessary! You also have to pay for a better TV selection, which we did as the boys enjoyed having cartoons on in the rare occasions we were in our room.
Other than those extras we had to pay for we had no iron which I personally thought was poor! I did want to iron some of the linen I bought or the crumpled T-shirts for when we went out for dinner/excursions. The managers excuse was poor and I know for many people swimsuits is all they wear but even to have one down in reception would have been fine rather than charging to press a small child's shirt.
Also blackout curtains would have been great as the sun rises so early it would have helped our boys lay-in a bit more - but that's no big deal.
We booked our tours through our rep and were not disappointed. I would definitely come back to Maramis. I'm not sure I'd pick Aida as I would try somewhere else. I did like the location which was also good for clubbing (hence paying for an apartment for our parents to come along) That said we had a lovely stay and two apartments for that cost with that much space was well worth it to see such a beautiful country.
Best thing about the hotel is the spacious room and how clean everywhere is!!!! You won't be disappointed if you book here whatever your expectation.More
Believe the reviews, believe the hype!
My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Club Aida - we were there for 10 nights at the start of July.
Very clean and tidy. Easy check in, helpful staff.
Split into a bedroom, a living area and a bathroom. All were always cleaned to a high standard and they were very spacious. Everything that you would need for a self catering holiday was accounted for - dishes, cutlery, glasses, kettle etc. The bed was really comfy and there were plenty sockets in both the bedroom and the living area. The air conditioning was only in the bedroom, not in the living area - unfortunately this was not free and you had to pay for this on arrival. We had a room facing the back of the hotel so it was free from getting pounded by the warm sun through the day.
Again, this was clean and there are staff working very hard through out the day providing refreshments. It did at times feel crammed but it wasn't a major issue. We never once struggled getting a lounger but we were down reasonably early each day. The entertainment was fairly decent - I found myself playing water polo every day and there were daily bingo games too which was good fun. Dodo and the team worked really hard through out the day and they deserve credit for keeping people happy.
Flexi dine was absolutely brilliant, breakfast and a three course dinner for a fairly decent price - very competitive with what was available on the street and at other restaurants. The food was really good - we never once went hungry and we were more than often stuffed after dinner each night! The club card acts like a top up card which you use to pay for drinks and any extras. Basically, you top it up at reception and it is a great way to keep control of what you are spending.
LOVED IT! Regi is an absolute star and he and his team are really worth visiting. I had 2 shaves, one at the start of the holiday and one at the end. This was an awesome experience - there are flames, thread, and a massage! My wife would get a wash and a blow dry for a 5er and it was great value.
We visited the spa as soon as we arrived for a Hammam. We both really enjoyed it and it got our skin in shape for the rays! You are well looked after, you are given cold bottled water and apple tea. Since we visited the spa early on, we were left alone by the man with the clipboard, who seemed to annoy a few folk - not us though as we went of our own backs.
We loved the staff! All of them work so incredibly hard and they are a credit to Club Aida.
Sam was an absolute star. Always available and very friendly. You don't often see reps on your holidays but Sam was constantly on the go, talking and helping people.
We loved our stay at the Club Aida and we will be back.More
