With 2 pools, a lively entertainment scene and a close-to-town setting, the family-run Albatros Apartments fire on all cylinders. The beach is within reach, too - it'll take about 15 minutes to walk there.
This place is in a really handy spot if you like to get out and about on holiday. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the centre of Marmaris, and the beach is roughly the same distance. Better still, if you don’t fancy the walk there’s a local bus that’ll get you there in around five minutes. Closer to the hotel, you’ll find a good choice of shops and restaurants.
The apartments themselves are divided between two blocks - each with a pool. At the main pool, suntrap terraces border the water, plus there's a splash pool for younger guests. Just a few steps away across the road, you’ll find the second, smaller pool, surrounded by orange trees and trailing vines, where the vibe is a lot quieter.
When it comes to food and drink, you’ve got a restaurant-come-bar by the main pool. It’s decked out with wicker chairs and serves drinks, snacks and meals all day long. For breakfast, expect all the usuals like cereals, pastries and fresh fruit. Lunch and dinner bring local specialities, as well as more familiar dishes like Sunday roasts. In the evenings, this place is the focus of the entertainment, too – think quizzes, karaoke and a weekly Turkish night.
As for the apartments, each one comes with one or two bedrooms. They’re all kitted out with understated colours, simple furniture and neat kitchenettes. Balconies, hairdryers and TVs are included, too.
For cocktails, hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice-cream and all day meals. Expect Continental-style breakfasts, local specialities for lunch and dinner - they even do a roast dinner on Sundays. Turkish night has over 30 cold mezze dishes and barbecue food, this is held at the restaurant with entertainment. Music is also played throughout the day and into the evening, from golden oldies to current chart toppers.
1-bedroom apartment sleeps up to 4, with twin beds and 2 sofa-beds in the lounge. Apartment has a kettle and 2 electric rings in the kitchenette, air-conditioning in the bedroom at a charge, TV with limited English channels, daily maid service and a twice weekly towel and linen change.
2-bedroom apartment sleeps up to 5, with a kettle and 2 electric rings in the kitchenette, air-conditioning in the bedroom at a charge, TV with limited English channels, daily maid service and a twice weekly towel and linen change.
Just returned from a week in Marmaris with my 2 teenage kids where we stayed in room 406 at Albatros 2. We arrived at 3am to the friendliest welcome. Our room situated at the rear of the hotel was basic but clean & consisted of 1 bedroom with 2 single beds & a sofa bed made up in the lounge area. My only gripe is you get 1 roll of toilet paper provided then you have to buy your own!!
The pool area was clean with plenty of sunbeds & a small kids splash pool. The water was really cold & did take your breath away!
The food provided by the Albatros in the pool bar/restaurant was delicious & well priced and we ate breakfast & sometimes lunch there each day. There were daily specials each evening which were displayed on boards.
Brian & the staff were always friendly & helpful and really made our stay enjoyable.
The apartments are in a quiet location, 25mins walk to the Marina or hop on the 2 Dolmus round the corner if you dont fancy the walk. Plenty of supermarkets, restaurants, bars, cash machines & excursion offices nearby.
No complaints about this holiday, we cant wait to come back!More

Stayed here last year and am back again this October, self catering. Fairly basic room but perfectly adequate. Loads of hot water if you wanted a shower whatever time of day. Quite a bit of noise in the evenings from another hotel over the back(Cle Resort Hotel) but all quiet by 12ish. Had room on fifth floor facing out to sea and had massive balcony, got morning sun which was great and could watch any thunderstorms coming in during late afternoon. Afternoon sun would have been too much.
From opposite the bazaar downtown you could get a number 2 blue stripe dolmas to a point just round the corner from the apts. This was useful if you had been to TanÅas in the town centre for food shopping. At about 10 minutes walk away, on the coast road there is a Kipa supermarket(part of Tesco) and then a bit further up, a large Migros. Similarly on the back road to Datça there is a large Kipa if you fancy the walk. Either way you won't starve!!
For a day out, try Orange Beach(pink stripe dolmas opposite TansaÅ). Recently renamed Uçurtma or Kite Beach.
Or get the bus to Turunç from the coast road - fabulous views and nice dolmas ride over the mountain top.
The joy of being in Marmaris late in the season is all the fruit and veg in the markets at about 60p/Kg and talking of markets, try MuÄla market on a Thursday. Be brave and get the MuÄla bus from the bus station!! If you are still into T shirts, you can buy those too.
Overall, would certainly return.More

Good budget hotel
Obviously not the Ritz but for what we wanted was more than adequate, great base for a holiday as we did not go to marmaris to spend 24/7 in our hotel so as somewhere to sleep, shower and occasionally eat it more than met our needs. All staff were friendly and helpful as we have found everywhere in marmaris. Having read other reviews before our holiday we were a little worried but we had no problems while here, a great weeks holiday- thank you all at the albatros!More
another great stay
22nd sept to 3rd oct good to be greeted by the same friendly crew .we had a hearty meal even though it was late in the evening nothing to much trouble even down to Vulcan sending our postcards. albatross may not be the Ritz but it provides most of what you want on holiday that is why they get so many return visitors .one couple were first timers and they told us they would return so its not all bad as some of the reviewers portray. This would be our first stop when we return to turkey .thanks guys your doing a great jobMore

friendly budget hotel,
We arrived at the Albatros apartments on September 4th and were welcomed in, ushered to our room, 107 ground floor right next to bar (no view) so first thing the following morning asked if we could change for a higher floor and quieter room, reception could not have been friendlier, room changed straight away, so now in room 203 (large 1bed not too bad) our holiday got underway, we found that the staff (once you got to know them) were great, the food was ok not a bad choice and cooked quite well, as previous reviews have said the hotel desperately needed new bed linen, holes in sheets and stained, most stains I put down to cheap crap towels at the shop at the end of the road, (as I found out by buying a red one and dying myself pink as soon as it got wet), live and learn :-) location not too bad about 25min walk from marina along seafront, all in all apartments not too bad, cheap and cheerful, maids came in regularly flashed a duster around and left, our stay was only marred by other guests 1st week Irish family (who described themselves as shameless on tour) 2nd week large Scottish family swearing, spitting around the pool, shouting and screaming until 5am,
So we ate out and spent most of our time at other places, so if you are lucky enough to avoid the families from hell and are looking for a cheap and cheerful apartment for a week or two, with staff that are very nice (but know they are fighting a losing battle) the albatross is for you,More
