Albatros Apartments

Loading

With 2 pools, a lively entertainment scene and a close-to-town setting, the family-run Albatros Apartments fire on all cylinders. The beach is within reach, too - it'll take about 15 minutes to walk there.

This place is in a really handy spot if you like to get out and about on holiday. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the centre of Marmaris, and the beach is roughly the same distance. Better still, if you don’t fancy the walk there’s a local bus that’ll get you there in around five minutes. Closer to the hotel, you’ll find a good choice of shops and restaurants.

The apartments themselves are divided between two blocks - each with a pool. At the main pool, suntrap terraces border the water, plus there's a splash pool for younger guests. Just a few steps away across the road, you’ll find the second, smaller pool, surrounded by orange trees and trailing vines, where the vibe is a lot quieter.

When it comes to food and drink, you’ve got a restaurant-come-bar by the main pool. It’s decked out with wicker chairs and serves drinks, snacks and meals all day long. For breakfast, expect all the usuals like cereals, pastries and fresh fruit. Lunch and dinner bring local specialities, as well as more familiar dishes like Sunday roasts. In the evenings, this place is the focus of the entertainment, too – think quizzes, karaoke and a weekly Turkish night.

As for the apartments, each one comes with one or two bedrooms. They’re all kitted out with understated colours, simple furniture and neat kitchenettes. Balconies, hairdryers and TVs are included, too.

Great holiday

Just got back from 2 weeks at this hotel which we found to be great. The hotel is basic but nice and clean. The shower and bathroom was nice and clean towels and linnen every other day. The staff are the best I have had the pleasure of meeting in many visits to turkey. Bryan, volkan, ebo and miserable Ali lol... we're fantastic and friendly and made the holiday. The food cooked by salou and smiley is fresh and very good value for money. The hotel puts on set deals each night like steak chicken and fish and chips etc. The lamb shank Sunday dinner is a must !!. The pool area is kept clean and and the staff are always on hand to take drink and food orders. I only have 1 gripe and that's the self catering facilities in the rooms, no toaster and the cooking hob could be better. But that's it a great holiday had by my family. The hotel is about a 25 min walk from the beach but the local dolmus will run to about 1 block away near the ibiza bar which also does very nice food, super Mario will offer great family discounts. Trips. For a lazy boat trip please check out the poyraz kaptan in the harbour we had a fantastic day on this boat and captain jack was brilliant. Beautiful bays and swim stops, no banging music just a chilled out day on the water. Bliss. Jack can also arrange other excursions for you at very cheap prices I saved a bundle of money with this guy. Scuba diving We used the nautilus diving school and had the best day ever. They are 100% focused on the safety of the diver and gave clear and precise instructions during the briefing prior to diving ( English lady is a lead diver ). They also provide a pictures and video service at the cost of 80lira per 4 divers approx £22 I did my homework before I went on holiday and the nautilus diving school came up trumps. Hope this review has helped. Cheers Simon and family More

An experience

I have to start this by stating that everyone involved from the staff side at the Albatros was very friendly and eager to help. Out apartment was clean but basic and the location was within a reasonable stroll of the main seafront and the views out over Marmaris Bay. On the first day there, as I lounged by the pool close to the bar area I wondered what the incessant low buzzing noise was. It was then that I noticed that the mobile tattoo artist had set up his stall and was busy inking in a rather large rose tattoo on the front right thigh of a young lady from the North of England. The artist arrived every day and there was no shortage of customers for his talent (sic). Indeed, I seriously wondered whether any of them had actually bothered to look at the quality of his work. I only realised that the aforementioned rose was a rose after I overheard its recipient confirming to her mother what it was as she bled and limped away from the chair. Around the pool various different people with varying different levels of Terret's syndrome engaged in loud banter with each other. By and large they were all great. I am not sure however that I would visit the Albatross again - at least not at tattoo convention time anyway (NB - I have nothing against tattoos - I do, however, draw the line at badly drawn tattoos - I could have done better than some of them with a large crayon)More

Basic family run hotel

Just returned from 2 weeks for 7 of us, had a great time, weather was fantastic. We had 2 apartments between us. The apartment consisted of a living area/kitchen with 2 bed settees with very basic cooking facilities, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and a bathroom. Wardrobe space was very inadequate for the amount of people in one apartment. It looked very clean on arrival but with closer inspection we found sheets had holes and towels had stains on them. You have to supply your own toilet roll and pay extra for air conditioning. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, but Bryan was constantly pestering you to buy drinks. BEWARE of him he adds things to your tab especially on Turkish night. I would advise to pay as you go. The reception staff were lovely, including mum and dad. Mum sits knitting most of the time. There is only free wifi in the bar, but you can get it on the balcony above reception not above the 3rd floor. Though this is a self catering hotel you are not allowed to bring your own food or drink to poolside, you have to purchase from the bar. The biggest downfall was on the 2nd night my daughter and her friend (both aged 20) ventured out on thier own, on thier return they were talking to the security man Mustafa. He then followed them to thier room and grabbed my daughter and forced his tongue into her mouth, I reported the matter to reception and Dan the Rep. There a few friendly restaurants around the hotel where you can buy food cheaper than the hotel. Full English breakfast will set you back just a pound. 3.50tl. In the hotel this will cost you 3 pound. 9.90tl.More

lovely family hotel

we moved ourselves to here because our hotel was substandard. they gave us a room. spotless, ground floor, cleaned every day, staff were amazing and friendly , especially the lady on reception and dreya the cleaning lady, i was not well and she really looked after me.food was very good breakfast was amazing, pool cleaned regular, they were not pushy and always had a smile, would really recommend and we will be returning there.basic but worth a visit, we have been in a few appartments in marmaris and this one would be right up there,More

Would never recommend

The front desk can't barely speak English When you sit down at the table in the bar you have to ask them to get served when they should come over and offer drinks and menus They only change bedding and towels every 3 days and they have Staines on and holes in and also they smell rancid! And don't clean the room too good The rooms are very basic and you have to pay £30 a week for air con and provide you own toilet roll which we weren't informed about before hand On the plus side there is a couple of members that are all right But it depends on how low your standards are as to whether you can stay there Some ppl are happy with it and say it's somewhere to get your head down but I'd rather not!!
