With 2 pools, a lively entertainment scene and a close-to-town setting, the family-run Albatros Apartments fire on all cylinders. The beach is within reach, too - it'll take about 15 minutes to walk there.
This place is in a really handy spot if you like to get out and about on holiday. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the centre of Marmaris, and the beach is roughly the same distance. Better still, if you don’t fancy the walk there’s a local bus that’ll get you there in around five minutes. Closer to the hotel, you’ll find a good choice of shops and restaurants.
The apartments themselves are divided between two blocks - each with a pool. At the main pool, suntrap terraces border the water, plus there's a splash pool for younger guests. Just a few steps away across the road, you’ll find the second, smaller pool, surrounded by orange trees and trailing vines, where the vibe is a lot quieter.
When it comes to food and drink, you’ve got a restaurant-come-bar by the main pool. It’s decked out with wicker chairs and serves drinks, snacks and meals all day long. For breakfast, expect all the usuals like cereals, pastries and fresh fruit. Lunch and dinner bring local specialities, as well as more familiar dishes like Sunday roasts. In the evenings, this place is the focus of the entertainment, too – think quizzes, karaoke and a weekly Turkish night.
As for the apartments, each one comes with one or two bedrooms. They’re all kitted out with understated colours, simple furniture and neat kitchenettes. Balconies, hairdryers and TVs are included, too.
For cocktails, hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice-cream and all day meals. Expect Continental-style breakfasts, local specialities for lunch and dinner - they even do a roast dinner on Sundays. Turkish night has over 30 cold mezze dishes and barbecue food, this is held at the restaurant with entertainment. Music is also played throughout the day and into the evening, from golden oldies to current chart toppers.
1-bedroom apartment sleeps up to 4, with twin beds and 2 sofa-beds in the lounge. Apartment has a kettle and 2 electric rings in the kitchenette, air-conditioning in the bedroom at a charge, TV with limited English channels, daily maid service and a twice weekly towel and linen change.
2-bedroom apartment sleeps up to 5, with a kettle and 2 electric rings in the kitchenette, air-conditioning in the bedroom at a charge, TV with limited English channels, daily maid service and a twice weekly towel and linen change.
We arrived at the Albatros apartments on September 4th and were welcomed in, ushered to our room, 107 ground floor right next to bar (no view) so first thing the following morning asked if we could change for a higher floor and quieter room, reception could not have been friendlier, room changed straight away, so now in room 203 (large 1bed not too bad) our holiday got underway, we found that the staff (once you got to know them) were great, the food was ok not a bad choice and cooked quite well, as previous reviews have said the hotel desperately needed new bed linen, holes in sheets and stained, most stains I put down to cheap crap towels at the shop at the end of the road, (as I found out by buying a red one and dying myself pink as soon as it got wet), live and learn :-) location not too bad about 25min walk from marina along seafront, all in all apartments not too bad, cheap and cheerful, maids came in regularly flashed a duster around and left, our stay was only marred by other guests 1st week Irish family (who described themselves as shameless on tour) 2nd week large Scottish family swearing, spitting around the pool, shouting and screaming until 5am,
So we ate out and spent most of our time at other places, so if you are lucky enough to avoid the families from hell and are looking for a cheap and cheerful apartment for a week or two, with staff that are very nice (but know they are fighting a losing battle) the albatross is for you,More

Tired and shabby. Would not go again. Staff except fo one in bar unhelpful. Far better to eat out by sea front which was a long walk away. Linen grey and had holes in. Badly needed a coat of paint and tiles finishing off. Water cool in mornings. Noisy at night but some places much worse. Marmaris in general was noisy and a bit Costa Del Sol but that is what some people like. Some interesting shops.More
The most welcoming holiday I have experienced!
I arrived at Albatros apartments on September 11th and arrived in the middle of the night. Me and my friend jack were welcomed with open arms from the moment we stepped off of the transfer coach. The security guy carried each of our cases up to our room, with a friendly approach and made us feel at ease instantly. Our room was in immaculate condition, with a selection of clean towels and bedding. We were told about safes being available in reception straight away and that they are monitored by a member of staff at all times. We had a very powerful shower with clean toilet facilities and also access to aircon, a telly and a hairdryer. The next day we went down to the pool and were welcomed by all bar staff who were some of the nicest people we have met! Brian, Ali and Albertos ensure that you have everything you need at all times, and spend quality time interacted with us plus other guests to make you feel part of the family :) They allow you to put things into a tab in which you may pay at the end of the day to stop you having to carry cash around the pool which was fab! The pool was immaculate with a wide range of facilities such as pool, computer games, music and even an outside on site barber!! All of the kitchen team were absolutely lovely and even offered me some turkish tea :D! The food was delicious with a wide range of options of English and Turkish foods. The milkshakes are spot on so id advice you try one :) The ladies in reception were friendly and chatty and always happy to help aswell as the cleaners! Cleaner came knocking regularly to clean out room and change our bedding which we were very happy with. The main doors on each apartment are very secure fitted with safe lock systems, which was great as we never had to worry when we left our room. Turkish night was a highlight for me as the buffet is beautiful. The wide range entertainment is perfect for families and people of all ages including toddlers and babies. There is a lovely baby pool and PLENTY of umbrellas for shade for the little ones, and the bar staff are always at your feet should you require any assistance. The apartments are located VERY close to the main strip of shops and sea front and about 20 mins walk from the harbour, which was lovely as we had the option to walk into town each day! There are also a couple of shops just outside of the hotel so you can grab things really quickly when you need :)! Brian was always making sure we new about what the special dish of the day was and what entertainment was taking place that evening, which was great as we didn't have to ask atall and he has a great sense of humour!!! (Thanks Brian!) excursions were really easy to book as there was a couple of booking lads based down the road, or you can book with your rep who was at the apartment each day. It was a pleasure staying at the albatros apartments and meeting zaynar (the dog) and I will definatly be going back next year! If you book a big hotel that's all inclusive and costs a fortune you will be just another number, if you book with albatros you are welcomed as an individual they will know your name and everything about you within one day (haha) and treated as family at a great price! You will not regret it :) thank you guys see you next year! Daisy xxMore

Nice budget hotel
We arrived quite late at the hotel with my wife and two children and check in was smooth. We had a room in the main hotel on the 4th floor. Our room was clean and basic. We ate breakfast at the hotel each day and the food was well cooked to a decent standard. The hotel staff are friendly and hard working. The only issue we had was down to some noisey youths and families around the pool area. They were very fond of swearing and not very considerate to other hotel guests. However, you can get this in any hotel. We ate out each night mostly at the Ibiza bar. We enjoyed the British bar for evening drinks and to watch the various bar staff songs and dancing. We enjoyed some afternoons around the cafes situated around Marmaris marina, which is brilliant. We used the Dolmas bus number 2 to travel to and from the hotel. All in all a good weeks holiday.More
I second that.....
Just got back from the Albatros Apartments and my group all agree that this was our first and last visit. Our room was substandard even for a budget holiday; I have paid less and got much more in the past. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, but then again, I didn't complain to them as I didn't see the point, as you can't make a silk purse from a pigâs ear, so to speak. On speaking to other guests and seeing guests checking in and checking straight out again during our week long stay, it was clear that the standard was the same throughout the hotel, just in varying degrees. The food was on the whole good, especially the BBQ night. Although close to local restaurants, it's quite a walk from the beach and very close to the local Mosque, so expect an early morning call at 4:30 am each day as the holy man and the cockerels do battle to be heard. Having said that, these sounds became strangely hypnotic and soothing compared to the noise of the other guests coming home early hours shouting their mouths off, banging doors and scraping furniture across the floor! We were also party to the âPooh-Gate Scandalâ as it fondly became known, but fortunately we occupied the other pool, so were not directly involved, thank goodness. I could write the equivalent of War and Peace in graphic detail, but I will let the photos do the talking.... 'Nuff said!More
