Albatros Apartments

Loading

With 2 pools, a lively entertainment scene and a close-to-town setting, the family-run Albatros Apartments fire on all cylinders. The beach is within reach, too - it'll take about 15 minutes to walk there.

This place is in a really handy spot if you like to get out and about on holiday. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the centre of Marmaris, and the beach is roughly the same distance. Better still, if you don’t fancy the walk there’s a local bus that’ll get you there in around five minutes. Closer to the hotel, you’ll find a good choice of shops and restaurants.

The apartments themselves are divided between two blocks - each with a pool. At the main pool, suntrap terraces border the water, plus there's a splash pool for younger guests. Just a few steps away across the road, you’ll find the second, smaller pool, surrounded by orange trees and trailing vines, where the vibe is a lot quieter.

When it comes to food and drink, you’ve got a restaurant-come-bar by the main pool. It’s decked out with wicker chairs and serves drinks, snacks and meals all day long. For breakfast, expect all the usuals like cereals, pastries and fresh fruit. Lunch and dinner bring local specialities, as well as more familiar dishes like Sunday roasts. In the evenings, this place is the focus of the entertainment, too – think quizzes, karaoke and a weekly Turkish night.

As for the apartments, each one comes with one or two bedrooms. They’re all kitted out with understated colours, simple furniture and neat kitchenettes. Balconies, hairdryers and TVs are included, too.

Basic but friendly

Just returned from two weeks for six of us including 2 kids 5 and 8, had a lovely time rooms are basic but spacious and very clean our maid was excellent and even washed up for us !! Air conditioning was a must although expensive it was brilliant, shame it was only in the bedroom though. The staff were very welcoming even though we didn't stay in the apartments much. If you want to do any trips visit James or josef around the corner at James travel shop they can't do enough for you! I highly recommend the jeep safari and turtle beach. More

Goodison7,

Great Holiday, made very welcome by all the staff

Admit after reading some reviews on here was very worried about what we were going to, these soon disappeared on entering room. We were in the main block in room 506 on the top floor. Found room to be clean, and the bed linen was also very clean. Rooms are basic, with two bed settees but for a three star place perfectly good. When we walked into the bar for the first time, we was greeted by all the staff, and made to feel at home, this continued for the 2 weeks we were there, they could not do enough for us, and built up a good rapport with all of them, and allowed for great banter during our stay. When daughter was unwell Ali got me a lift to the nearest pharmacy, we asked if they had a beer, which they did not have 'EFES Dark' but next day they got a case delivered for us. Consider them all to be friends now. John's Zombie impression will stay with me for a long time. Rooms were cleaned daily and linen and towels changed every couple of days, no complaints there. Food at hotel also very good. Thompson rep Dan was also very helpful and answered any questions. Cannot understand some of the previous negative comments about this hotel, think some people are looking for 5 star standards at 3 star money, this place offers good clean budget accommodation with a genuine family feel. When we left the staff were waving us good bye. Like anywhere if you treat people like you like to be treated then they will return it, you can have a great holiday here.More

Reasonable Budget Accommodation

We stayed in a 2-Bed apartment in this hotel from 7-22 August 2014. All the 2 Bed apartments are situated in the block across a minor road from the block which contained the reception area. The accommodation is a basic 3 star (acceptable for the price paid), so I would suggest that anyone expecting 5 star facilities needs to look elsewhere, Although a little dated, the accommodation is reasonably clean with reasonable facilities.A negative aspect of the accommodation is the lack of a lift in the second block across from the reception area, and negotiating the half spiral staircase can be a little treacherous. We found the hotel manager and staff to be very obliging and quick to respond to any problems that we had during our stay. The cleaning staff did an ok job, but were not particularly thorough - when moving the beds there was quite a lot of dust and debris. The furniture is a bit tired and dated and it there is a lack of wardrobe space. Was interested to read another review about the change of towels and bedding daily - unfortunately this was not our experience as we as found they weren't changed regularly and the bedding only a couple of times during our 2 week stay. Each apartment block has it's own pool. The busiest pool is the one near the bar area, and the sunbed arrangement makes it a little cramped by the pool and if in the first row expect to be splashed. Finding a sunbed was never much of a problem even after 9am in the morning. The pool area can be a little slippery later in the day, so you need to take care, especially as there is limited space to walk. We didnt use the second pool but it did seem quieter and there was a little more space. The bar staff are a really friendly bunch, though the Bar Manager could be a little overly-persistent at times in selling you drinks or food. The meals at the apartments were generally ok, if a little pricier than you could get from other restaurants nearby - but I have to big-up the Sunday Roast, which was excellent. The bar area does run a room tab system, but we found that the bills got more and more expensive as we went through the first week, and were hard to control or check as they were not itemised - so we paid for each bar round and food bill as we ordered it. The evening entertainment is on a 1 week cycle - so if staying for 2 weeks you will have already seen the acts. One or 2 were okay, but most were very amateur. The Turkish Night was ok - but we weren't over keen on the foods as contained lots of mayonnaise. The apartments are situated about 10 minutes from the beach and took as about 30 minutes to walk to the harbour area (that was a slow stroll though). A lovely walk in the evening when a bit cooler. The harbour area has been regenerated and looks great. Would we stay again ... possibly. I wouldn't rush back, but then again we like staying at different places. We would recommend then on ... yes, if you are looking for budget accommodation to use as a base. We had a brilliant holiday and met some really nice peopleMore
