The Hotel Dionysia has a great location and a relaxed pool scene. But it's the rooftop bar that steals the spotlight...
Hotel Dionysia is really well located. It’s a little way outside of Kalkan, so it’s nice and peaceful, but you can still walk to the beach and the town centre in less than 10 minutes. Better yet, the property is flanked by greenery, so there’s an air of privacy about the place.
In the centre of the grounds you’ll find a swimming pool, which is set in a sundeck that’s studded with loungers. The whole area is framed by cobbled stone walls draped in bougainvillea, so things feel pretty secluded. There’s also a bar shaded by olive trees, which churns out drinks and snacks by the poolside. You can look forward to regular barbecue nights around the pool, too, with music and dancing on the agenda.
When all’s said and done, though, the big draw here is the Moonlight Bar. It comes complete with a rooftop terrace that looks out over the marina and the sea, so it’s perfect for sunset cocktails.

Kalkan is the prettiest of the small resorts along the south coast and has been built along the Side of a mountain with many of its simple cottages beautifully restored and redeveloped as small shops and restaurants. Kalkan was originally a fishing village but its harbour now houses glamorous yachts alongside the fishing boats. The town is still relatively uncommercialised, its pretty cobbled streets offering bazaar-type shops, inviting restaurants and a varied nightlife for the more discerning visitor. It's also an excellent base for exploring the surrounding coast.
