Lovely hotel, wrong time of year..

My partner and I stayed at this hotel from 23rd -30th October (Half term week). We thought the hotel was great, the location is ideal, right on the beach. Our room had a sea view which was definitely worth the extra money. The room was spacious with clean towels everyday. Really couldn't complain about the room. During the first few days we were impressed with the food, it was hot and even though I'm a fussy eater there were a few things each meal time that I would eat. However, as the week went on the hotel started to empty and the quality of the food decreased dramatically. The variety decreased and all the food was just warm, not hot. Many people were complaining and deciding to go out to eat even though they were all-inclusive. Also, I believe if a hotel is all-inclusive, it should be all-inclusive, which this wasn't. There were charges for most cocktails, ice creams and fruit juices. The shops in the hotel packed up and left a few days before we did and the rooms that were vacant had the doors left open which left us feeling almost uneasy at how few people were still in the hotel . The A La Carte restaurants closed without warning halfway through our stay so we were unable to book something we were actually entitled to. I've read reviews on here stating how unhelpful and unfriendly the staff were. However we found them to be extremely helpful and very friendly. The manager didn't speak but I didn't see him very often, only in the restaurant when people were complaining. We were however 'royally' ripped off by our rep 'Bob'. We booked two excursions with him and it was only when speaking to others on the days out that we found out how much they had paid! The street sellers really have the best deals. I would recommend to use the Turkish Baths at the hotel as we went on a day out to another one and it was horrific! The worst part of our holiday! I believe this hotel would be an excellent place to stay when it's busier and there is entertainment and a larger variety of fresh food. Unfortunately for us as everyone stated it was 'end of season' and even the beach (sunbeds and paths) were being packed up around us, it wasn't very welcoming. The transfer to and from the hotel is very annoying as they insist on a 15 min break, even if it's 1am! The transfer itself is less than 2 hours, is the stop really necessary? The 'shop' that they stop at is ridiculously overpriced and you have to pay to use a dirty broken toilet!!More

Well what can i say about this hotel, very disappointing, the variety and standard of food was very poor and the food that was there was like warm, the best food was the soup. Vegetarian option was poor and the only snack meal available from 11.00am until 4.00pm was burger and it was the same everyday no other choice available. Cake in the afternoon was exactly the same everyday. Had to go out for decent meal which is not how it should be on an all inclusive. Variety of cereals was stale cornflakes, muesli or cornflakes and muesli mixed together, one day decided tto have pancake for breakfast, big mistake short curly hair found in it really off putting. Well enough about the food. There was no entertainment apart from one evening when there was turkish students visiting the hotel. Whilst trying to relax on the beach the lifeguard was breaking up sunloungers with hammer making alot of noise also and beach path also being ripped up whilst trying to relax, no chance with all the noise going on, also one day when we needed cushions for the sunloungers we were told they were in the wash as we all complained they eventually managed to find some for us. The Ala Carte was closed with no notice given. Shops shut and emptied at hotel whilst guests were still there. Just felt this hotel should have closed 2 weeks earlier as felt we were in the way and that they just wanted us out of the way. This is not how you should feel especially when you pay a premium because you have to go in school holidays. Had to leave luggage on last day in a room that was not locked and really stunk of cigarettes and to make matters worse my camera has gone missing which was in one of the suitcases, i have emailed the hotel to ask if it is there but have had no reply from them. Very disappointing

We stayed here for half term week, so paid extra to start with, but soon realised that this 'All Inclusive' hotel really ISN'T all inclusive at all! It was advertised as a 4 star. The all inclusive started at 1000, but excluded all fresh fruit juices, ice creams, most cocktails and the only 'snacks' available were a selection of 4 dry cakes/biscuits from 1600-1700 each day. The only staff who smiled in the whole hotel were the young lady waiting tables and the omelette chef in the mornings. We tried to have a laugh with the staff and make conversation each day, but they were very definitely disinterested....unless you were tipping all the time. The whole hotel was being packed up around us...All the cushions had been taken in from the outside rattan furniture and when we asked, we're told that they "were not available now." The beach was cleared of the wooden pathways, the sunbed cushions locked away along with the umbrellas and the staff made us feel like we were in the way...that they had a clearing up job to do and couldn't get on with it as we were in the way. There was no entertainment on at all any evenings or during the day and the music was good if you liked repetitive cover versions of old songs. The food every night was only warm, not hot. One evening, I watched a chef put the back of his hand on a pasta dish and say something to the manager. He then put the back of HIS hand on the food to feel it before the cover was replaced! Although a good selection of buffet at the beginning of the week (still only lukewarm), this soon diminished into lamb casserole, fried liver and chicken wings, all barely warm, towards the end of the week. Definitely not 4 star! The 'a large carte' restaurants closed early in the week before we had a chance to book them, and we weren't the only one side disappointed. On the plus side, the room was lovely, overlooking the beach and kept clean with fresh towels daily. The shower was barely warm most days though, and got colder as the week went on. We asked if we could keep our room until later on the last day and we're advised that it would cost us another £35. This was in spite of only about a dozen people left in the hotel by then. However, another couple on the beach told us of the courtesy room we could use free of charge...The hotel didn't tell us about this. The hotel is perfectly situated in the resort and looked perfect. We definitely won't be returning but looked at others in the area. If you want a great holiday, I suggest the Hotel Aqua, which had happy people in it and was also ideally situated. If you want a great selection of top quality, hot, fresh food served by happy, friendly, chatty staff and a hotel that will treat clients as people rather than a nuisance, then just be warned. ...This hotel isn't for you. You honestly CAN do better!!More

Disappointing Munamar Hotel - Viv & Carol N

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Munamar Hotel returning 30th October 14, the hotels position in Icmeler is stunning and we had a seaview room that was well worth the extra money, the room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom but the hotel although clean is very boringly beige with absolutely no colour anywhere. These are my nice comments, Thomson should not book people into this hotel in the October halfterm as the hotel management and staff really do not want guests to be there. There was barely a smile from any of them, the manager never uttered a word to us and although customers were moaning about the lack of service, no entertainment, pool bars being closed, cold food and poor selection, no ice cream because it had run out, nothing changed. The hotel numbers were low max number of guests around 50 I would say, one night 31 people (including us)ate out because of the awful food (they were all inclusive like us but had to eat out for decent food). Customer relations were very complacent and really not interested in guest complaints I was told, so I didn't bother moaning as it seemed pointless, the reps were getting complaints everyday last week so we didn't want to add to this as the complaining didn't change anything. The hotel was being shut up around us even though some poor soles will still be there until Monday. The A La Carte restaurant shut on the Wednesday (no warning), on the Thursday morning there were no cushions for the sunbeds on the beach, shut away for the winter we were told, we had to insist that the guests were given them and after pressure from about 10 of us, miraculously cushions appeared. We had wooden boardwalks taken up around us and then repaired at he back of the beach, broken sun beds were broken up with a hammer at the back of the beach while we tried to relax, cushions disappeared off of the wicker chairs around the bar. This hotel should not still have Thomson Couples signs all around the hotel, it is certainly not a 4T hotel, people in halfterm week have paid a premium to stay there and the service level received was disgustingly poor - we have to say the worst holiday we have ever booked through Thomsons. Certainly not value for money.More

Excellent stay - Wonderful Staff

I have just returned from a week's stay at this lovely hotel. The rooms are modern and very clean and the public areas are spotless. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. We had a great room (325) with a sea view which is worth paying for. The food is good, although could be warmer. Overall an excellent hotel and would recommend.More
