Great Location and Setting

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this hotel and my complaints are the same as other British holidaymakers. Bar service poor with short measures with no waiter service provided therefore you have to form/join a queue to get served, but if you as Russian you are able to jump the queue and get table service.....they demand service. Even whilst trying to enjoy the feeble amount of alcohol served we were plagued every few minutes with bar waiters pushing for cocktail sales. The evening entertainment was poor and felt embarrassed when holiday makers we walking out during the performnces...no problem getting a seat. No activities throughout the day unless you were Russian with 30mins of aqua aerobics in the pool by a Russian rep. At 7.00 every night the queue to enter the restaurant was unbelievable, I've never seen anything like it in my life, (stampede) don't know why as the food was poor quality, boring and hot food was often cold. maybe they thought it was hotter and more appetising at 7.00 rather than 8.00, no difference. The hotel displays a 5 star rating with Thomson a 4 star rating, suggest an urgent review. I did register my complaints to Thomson rep on duty at hotel and bar manager but made little impact. The area and location of the hotel are perfect, shame about hotel management are unable to address complaints to make our holiday stress free.More

disappointed

let me start by saying that my husband & I have been returning to this hotel for four years.but sadly this year will be the last. we found the quality & measures of drinks below standard. the beer was undrinkable, the bar staff didn't have a clue . all they were interested was in selling cocktails. they also sell drinks to the public beach, so those of us that had already paid for our holiday took second place to be served at the bar in the day.the selection of food in the restaurant is very limited. the table cloths are not changed as they should be, on a positive not the room was kept clean with fresh towels everyday.most of the staff are really friendly , as we were recongised as returned guests, taner the hairdresser is excellent as is the barber.bulent was also very friendly even tho we didn't have a spa. there were a lot of Russians at this hotel & it seemed to us that everything was geared towards them.the entertainment is on a weekly basis so if your staying for two weeks there is no variation.to finish the location is perfect , we spoke to a number of returning guests they are saying the same thing the hotel has gone down hill in four years,More

Great holiday

Just had another great holiday at the Munamar. Rooms are spacious, food good, everywhere is spotless. Bulent advised us to have a Turkish bath and massage so glad we did it as Puna and Seniha were excellent felt so relaxed after. Lovely setting beach directly in front and the pool area is very good. All in all an excellent hotel well done to managers and staff.More

great location

just spent a week at the Munamar, which is definately NOT 5 star. . I will start with the bad points. .Shower in room was not cleaned on a daily basis, nor were the shampoo, etc, replenished,If you didn,t go to the restaurant when it first opened you were stuck for choice as they never replenished the trays and there was certainly enough staff to do this. The main bar was a disaster, everyone complaining at the tiny amounts, which lead to a long queue. (if you were Russian or Turkish) you did not queue and we even saw Turkish people not having to get off their stools.Good points bed was great but duvet too small. Having their own beach meant that there were plenty of sunbeds. and the Gazebo,s were great .Both barmen in the restaurant and pool bar were 1st class. Location again was 1st class near bus routes and Icmeler centre.. Rooms were large.and kept very clean.Would I go to Icmeler, yes. would I stay at the Munamar Hotel , sorry it has to be a no.More

Stunning sea views

We recently returned from the Munamar beach HOTEL, I point this out because there are 4 Munamars, we got dropped off from the airport at the wrong one at about 2am after a 2 hour bus journey and had to find our own way to the right one with all our luggage. The hotel itself is nice, very clean and the staff are mostly very friendly. The location is fantastic, right on the beach and the view from our room (409) is amazing. It really could be a wonderful place BUT.... The entertainment was mostly pretty bad with the exception of a group one night who were quite good. The food was average and on a few occasions it was stone cold and unless you like eggs for breakfast there was not much choice of hot food in the mornings. As its only a small hotel, the pool isn't very big and there is no real shallow part if you're a poor swimmer. Although there is a small pool about a foot deep just to sit in to cool down. As mentioned by other reviewers the drinks service was awful with very short measures served by very young staff who couldn't remember what you had ordered. even though we ordered only 2 drinks they often got it wrong after asking twice what it was we asked for. There were plenty of waiters but no waiter service as such, all they did was remove your glasses and plates - very quickly I might add, sometimes before you had put down your glass or cutlery. Overall there is potential for this to be a great hotel but I think it would benefit from more experienced bar staff and waiters and a bit of training. At the moment I would give it a 3 star but like I said, the potential is there. I would go back to Icmeler but not to this hotel.More
