Munamar Beach Hotel

Last year this hotel was 5 star and lived up to its reputation. this year however it has dropped to 3 star, the food was not as good we ate out most days ,even having booked all inclusive. the resort of Icmelar is as lovely as ever but I wouldn't book the hotel again. I believe Thomsons have dropped the htel from their brochure for next year. we found a really nice place to eat, spotless very nice meals at very reasonable prices and a really friendly attitude Amigos, I would recommend this to anybodyMore

Don't listen to the bad reviews! Give it a chance

Ok, so I do agree with many others that this hotel is not the '5 star' you would expect but there are a lot of comments which I find harsh and untrue. I am a very fussy eater and my partner and I could always find things to fill our plates at lunch and dinner (wasn't too keen on the breakfast options) the food was nice, not out of this world but better than some other all inclusives I've been to. It is however, very repetitive and we did eat out a couple of times because we have a few favourite restaurants from previous visits to Icmeler. (Champagne steak house & majestic) the drinks at the bar were good, huge measures and tasted ok, but the bar staff could have been friendlier. All staff in the hotel for that matter could have been a bit more friendly and attentive. A lot of them looked miserable. I would highly recommend the spa in the hotel. It was fantastic and you get treated like royalty. The room was a great size. Was very clean, housekeeping service every day, well lit and fridge in the room stocked with juice and beer. The balcony is very very small and poorly furnished, however this was not an issue for us in particular. Our view was rotten, overlooking the porch of the hotel entrance, couldn't see the pool or mountains or anything but again wasn't too fussed as didn't spend much time there. Good location right on beach front. Entertainment is pretty much non existent which was a big downfall. There were not many English speaking people in the hotel due to recent events in turkey which is such a shame as there are no problems in this side of turkey at all and the local businesses are struggling because of all the bad press scaring people. Majority of the foreign people were rude and ignorant but that's not the hotels fault. All in all we enjoyed our stay and we would stay here again but small improvements would make a huge difference.More

Not 5☆

Arrived at the munamar early hours and checked in to find although we paid extra for a sea view we had a restricted view blocked by a tree. The maid service was poor. The food was edible but that was it, when you could get a table, the bar staff except for a couple of exceptions were miserable, the lobby toilets were disgusting. I could go on but I think I've said enough, we'll never stop there again More

Terrible staff

The staff couldn't have been less interested in serving us throughout our stay. Rarely clean plates and glasses. Room not clean on arrival. Room left open by housekeeping. Dirty pool area and public toilets. Location is fab. Restaurants surrounding are amazing. Beach is beautiful. Just stay somewhere else.More

Maya B,

Stay away from this one folks

This is the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. 1. We were led to believe we would be in the residence which is on beachfront. However when we arrived we were put in one of the other two blocks 15 mins walk away from beach which is difficult with mobility problems. 2. The photos used in the adverts were nearly all for the residence which I consider a bit of a con. 3. Poolside and pool were never cleaned during my stay of two weeks. Often found broken glass etc 4. Food was horrendous, no covers so flies were an issue. Food not kept hot enough always like warm. 5. Staff surly. 6. Restaurant manager appeared to be constantly shouting at staff. 7. At the bar it was common to see a dozen or more ants on the soft drink dispenser. 8. Sunbeds not in good condition many broken. 9. Not enough umbrellas to get shade. 10. Although no jumping or diving allowed in the pool other guests children never challenged about it so swimming wasn't an option. 11. Reception were very unhelpful. All in all I feel we were well and truly conned into booking this hotel. We spent most of our time in a little b@b called richards place and they welcomed us with open arms to use their pool free of charge. We had lots of lovely meals there and the food was beautiful. In other words we would have been really screwed had it not been for the lovely people are Richards PlaceMore
