Family holiday

We visited this hotel in the assumption that it was a 5 star hotel and 17 and over occupants!! How wrong we were. We were given the wrong room on arrival, my 17 year old daughter was expected to sleep on a chair bed!! Until we complained.. Then given a proper room.. The food!! What can I say other than boring, bland and recycled!! What they gave us for dinner we had for tea in a different sauce!! I was very disappointed I the food, we decide to eat out most days as we couldn't bare eating in there. Staff, some were very helpful and happy especially fatih who worked at the pool bar, he was great. Even though the only food that is available at the pool bar was lamb burger with salad and either croquet potatoes or onion rings!!! That was it.and they were horrible to be fair. The alcohol was flat week and tasteless well the only beer you could get, the spirits were ok but the coke or Sprite you had with it was flat.. No ice creams or lollies you had to pay for those 😟 The room service was poor they only changed the sheets and towels once a week!! I was ill and took the bedding off and put it outside the door, gone supervisor cans to question why I had done this!! I had slept in them for 4 days!! The 4th day I had been sick on them.. Is it that much to ask!! For what was supposed to be a 5 star hotel.. The age of children allowed at this hotel has changed!! We were told only 17 and above allowed, there were 13 year old a there and we were told by staff that the hotel had lowered the age to 12!! Thompsons didn't tell us that 🤔 In all my first time experience of turkey was that the place itself is fantastic, the people are very nice and friendly food outside the hotel is very good and reasonably priced. But I will never go back to the munamar hotel because it's service is terrible and definitely NOT a 5 star hotel, more like a 3 star. So glad I got a fantastic sun tan or it would of been a complete disaster. Thanks Sharon More

Sharon W,

No where near a 5*

If you like poor food, poor tasting drink, a evening bar that is packed to the rafters with people who I don't believe can all be staying at our hotel and that said bar smelling all day like a poor town bin that needs a good clean. With also poorly trained, arrogant and sometimes very rude staff who seem to be I believe a little too young and inexperienced at the job. Finally if you appreciated the monotonous and constant tripe of Turkish music around the pool day in day out surrounded by Russians taking embarrassing photos of posing and PDAs... THEN THIS IS THE HOTEl FOR YOU!!! However the hotel rooms and hotel itself are fine and up to good standard. The rooms are a good size with decent air con. The town of icmeler itself is a lovely place with great people, restaurants and bars. I would come to icmeler again but maybe not at such a hot time, and if I was going to stay at this hotel I would but definitely not all inclusive as my partner and I have eaten out practically every night as the food is 100x better.More

Michael R,

Third time unlucky

Bad points: Food was luke warm, uncovered and repetitive. There was no fresh bread for breakfast on the first few days. Bottles of water were already opened, warm, and part used on the tables. 5 courses of bland a-la-carte Italian food were served to us within 40 minutes. (Impossible to enjoy at that speed). We were served chips that were still part-frozen in the middle, at the pool bar. Lots of children appeared for one of the weekends in May even though it purports to be an adult only hotel and we booked an adult only hotel specifically. Staff failed to quieten a full on party in the suite next to our room resulting in us having to move in the middle of the night, while my husband was recovering from a hospital visit. By loud, I mean they were playing music with their door open and using the whole corridor. No entertainment until the end of our second week making it totally boring. On previous visits to this hotel, we've had musicians, quizzes and even an attempt at a karaoke. Good points: Nice view from room. Reception staff helped us to swap to this room. Reception staff acted quickly when my husband became ill. A nurse and doctor arrived within minutes. My three stars are extremely generous and based mostly on the view and proximity to the beach. The hotel itself is ideally located. The rooms are pleasant too. Conclusion: If you are looking for a 4/5 star hotel, this isn't it. It has a more 3 star feel to it and lacks finishing touches and attention to detail. This was our third time and the food wasn't up to much on this occasion so we won't be booking again. We also generally book adults only and, as we'd never know if there were going to be families with lots of young children, this has put us off too. We did address all our issues with the Thomson rep and the hotel at the time. We did also try, on a few occasions, to speak with the management/owners of the hotel but were unable to ever catch them around. This was once a fab hotel. I've left two excellent reviews in the past but the changes in quality were so drastic, I couldn't not mention them on this occasion. It has pained me to write this review which is why I've only just completed it after staying in May. I hope they take everything constructively and raise the Munamar Beach to the standards that previous guests have become accustomed to.More

Lovely hotel

Great position. Staff are great. Ok food is a bit of a hit and miss but you can always find something you like. Please don't be put off by some strange reviews!! Room was spotless and cleaned every other day. We had a jumior suite and the air conditioning was fab. The lads in the bar were amazing as was the reception. We arrived at 4 am we were escorted to our room and shown how everthing worked. We were also given a very welcome lunch box with cold meats fruit and cheese which was a very nice touch. Lots of Russians who do appear a bit rude to staff. Would we come back? Most certainly. Maybe later in the year when it's a bit cooler!!!!More

Not my kind of holiday hotel

Read reviews, Was moved from munamar residence hotel to here due to lack of clients so they informed us. food not good at all, great if you live on rabbit food, plenty of green leaves,s o much tasteless food and repetitive, given bottles of water already opened that have been used buy other tables in restaurant ,had Italian a la carte, disgusting, could not eat, plus asked for no nuts due to allergies and was given dessert with nuts! say no more. room ok fridge in room not cleaned still had old piece of fruit in back of it, ,had 2 bottles of water in only no soft drinks as brochure says, though all-inclusive, balcony so small can hardly move with tiny drop down wooden table attached to wall and chair each side no room to sit ,air conditioner on balcony wall takes large space and is hot , so impossible to sit out side if wanted, given view of car park though, asked for side sea view, . trying to get a table in restaurant is a nightmare, so eating out a lot as can't bare to eat their food at times on many days eating out ,staff fighting a losing battle .pool side snacks ,every day burgers and salad same ,only once was enough .afternoon cake and biscuits inedible for us,Icmeler beautiful though being pestered by shop and restaurant staff in the streets more than ever and so hands on touching to your person all the time in the restaurant s and shops.way over the top! , non stop! , Not many people on holiday in the country though have seen no trouble myself. Spa in hotel polite and caring. 18 year old grandaughter eating plum in restaurant found maggot crawling around in it ,no wonder when half the food ,cheeses jams butter etc are not covered and have flies all over them desserts same nearly every day No ice cream all 2 weeks stay..had to ask cleaner's to change sheets as after week not changed, bar staff Work hard and most are very polite ,also can say same for restaurant staff . would I go back to the hotel NO ,! Might say 5* outside hotel lobby not even 3*More
