Alla Turca Villas

in Dalyan , Turkey - Dalaman

Thursday arrivals
Newly built, the Alla Turca Villas are modern holiday homes in one of Turkey’s most historical areas.
The Alla Turca Villas put some of Turkey’s best bits on your doorstep. For starters, you can reach the enormous Iztuzu beach in 20 minutes by car. Alternatively, a 25-minute journey will take you to the ancient ruins of Caunos village, the local mud baths and the world-famous rock tombs.

Back at your villa the pool scene steals the limelight. A spacious rectangular swimming pool is overlooked by a sun terrace, which is elevated like a stage. There are plenty of sunloungers and parasols, and the whole scene is circled by a band of thick grass.

The properties were only built in 2010, so they're really smart and modern. Inside, wooden floors, feature fireplaces and contemporary furnishings give them a sense of style. Air-conditioning comes as standard, so you can keep cool as temperatures rise. And the living rooms' media set-up puts entertainment at your fingertips – thanks to a flatscreen TV and satellite channels.

When it comes to mealtimes, the kitchens are well equipped for cooking and are kitted out with extras like a dishwasher. You can take your pick of where to dine, too. The villas are dotted with different tables, so you can have a change of scene from night to night.

Finally, when you stay here, you’ll have free reign of the Alla Turca Hotel next door. This place has rave reviews on TripAdvisor, with special praise going to the mountain views, the friendly service and the restaurant’s tasty baklava selection.

Your guide to Dalyan, Turkey - Dalaman

“For a taste of traditional Turkey, this small authentic town is just the place.”

Snaking its way along the broad delta of the Dalyan River near Turkey’s south-west coast is the tranquil town of Dalyan. Wrapped in pine-clad hills and a patchwork of meadows spread over mountains, it’s got the looks Side of things all sewn up. Little wonder then, it’s an environmentally-protected area and a great place to spot wildlife. Head for the sweeping five kilometre-long sandbar beach of Iztuzu – it’s one of the last remaining nesting grounds of the endangered loggerhead turtle. Dalyan itself has grown-up from a tiny fishing village to a small town, but you still won’t find it firmly on the tourist map. Little boutiques selling leather goods, jewellery and clothes line the streets, while Saturday sees the market in full swing. And there are plenty of traditional Turkish eateries here, too. Share a meze platter with dishes like fried aubergine in yoghurt, or indulge in seafood specialities like blue crab or sea bass. Add a handful of Turkish nights where traditional dancing and music are the order of the day, and Dalyan does nothing but impress. As for history, this place is shrouded in the stuff. The ancient city of Caunos, one of the country’s top archaeological sites, is just a short boat-ride across the river, and the eerie 3000 BC Lycian rock tombs loom down from the cliffs above.
