Local information
A ruined medieval fortress through to have been built by the 14th century Crusader Knights of St John overlooks Fethiye, an old market town and fishing port. The town has retained much of its original charm amd atmosphere. It occupies the site of the ancient Lycian city of Temlessos and some impressive 4th century rock tombs and can be visited. An amphitheatre behind the tourist office is carefully being restored.
