Villa Wild Thyme

Like its sister villa, Wild Pistachio, this villa enjoys a wonderful setting, with fields and a temporarily dried out gulley making a natural border within the valley which also shields the villas from the elements and gives tranquillity to the area. It's further back and in a slightly more elevated position so both villas enjoy panoramic views. The owners have built a hideaway cottage for themselves set even further back and are on site if needed. All villas have separate driveways.
The interior of the villa is attractively decorated with handcrafted furniture and squashy sofas. The double bedroom has a whirlpool bath and an en suite bathroom - a relaxing treat after exploring the nearby hills and dales or a day windsurfing or sailing at nearby Bitez beach 12km away; it's the longest stretch of beach this Side of Bodrum with coarse dark sand.
Out front, the pool commands great views of the cacti and wild trees that continue to flourish even when the tiny trickle of the stream that runs through the valley finally dries up each year in the heat of the summer.
As the cool of the evening sets in, it's a great time to relax around the pool and enjoy an evening aperitif, maybe deciding to try an evening out in pretty Gumusluk with its waterfront restaurants famed for the fresh fish, or the more sophisticated delights of Bodrum, its cosmopolitan marina attracting an eclectic crowd.
Alternatively, an evening in with the barbeque sizzling and a cold bottle of wine to enjoy round the pool might prove more tempting.
The haunting Lelegain ruins of Telmissus are nearby, and are well worth a walk up the gently rolling hills; however, there are plenty of tougher walks in this countryside to tempt keen hikers. Yaka village has a small bakers selling fresh bread 15 minutes away.
