Vera Aegean Dream Resort

Expect sea views from the pools, bars and restaurants at this beachfront hotel.

Sea views come as standard here, and they look particularly good when the sun sets over the hotel’s private stretch of beach. The town centre, with its bustling marina, is about 15 minutes’ walk away.

There are 4 pools including a lively activity number. On the food front, there’s a buffet restaurant and 4 à la cartes. The hotel also has a good quota of bars – one comes with a particularly impressive sea view.

Good stuff...

Hi, while many people complain about this hotel, I have nothing bad to say to be honest. When you go on vacation you have to let go and enjoy and I definitely have enjoyed myself with my wife. Food was good, staff was good. The purpose of my trip was to relax and I have definitely done that. Thank you Vera... Big shoutout to the Guest Relations Manager... We miss you bro !More

"NOW AEGEAN BAD DREAM"

This was our 7th and Final visit to the Aegean Dream. Having always had a fantastic time at this hotel we were bitterly disappointed on our September 2014 visit. We stayed in select (which is no longer anything different). The select restaurant is no longer open for served breakfast or lunch, albeit the doors were open and you were invited to carry your own food from the snack bar if you wished to eat in there ( which would make the food even colder). The fabulous sunset bar as was! is no longer open, allegedly due to high winds however out of 11 nights it was windy for about 4. Again we were told that we could take our own drinks up 4 flights of stairs in the dark if we wished to sit in the sunset bar. The sunset bar area itself hadn't been cleaned for weeks and had dirty glasses and full ashtrays left lying about. The select bar closed 45 minutes early most days and was constantly running out of ice, tonic water and spirits. Although the staff in select bar were friendly and pleasant they wouldn't replenish the ice or drinks and just stated more ice tomorrow. On another occasion when there was no glasses in the select bar a guest was offered his beer in a small paper coffee cup. The food in the main restaurant was repetitive and left uncovered and was barely warm most days.On one occasion two of the staff had a fight in the restaurant and had to be separated and dragged apart. The tables in the restaurant weren't cleaned properly and plates and cups were chipped. A La carte restaurants are a joke apart from the Turkish restaurant which is now only open on a Monday. You have to order your food for each restaurant in advance ie if you book into all 4 restaurants you have to decide 4 days prior what you think you may want to eat that night. The Italian restaurant had no atmosphere, candles or music etc and all you could hear was the loud television coming from the pool bar. Your room number was written on the rear of a folded piece of A4 paper and left on the table so that the waiters knew where to seat you. When the paper was unfolded it had a list of all hotel guests and room numbers printed on it, Breach of security? or just cut backs? There are no longer any water sports as in previous years but they are still advertised. The waiters were scruffy apart from one day when there was a visit from senior management and waiters appeared in clean shoes and shirts and were wearing bow ties. The reception bar staff and starlight bar staff were however good and attentive. The list goes on and on and I'm not going to. On a positive note the view is still fantastic and the restaurants in Town are good. Never again and what a shame. What happened to this once beautiful hotel?More

Nothing 5 star at this hotel

We stayed here for 6 nights in October 2014 and were so disappointed at the service and standards at the hotel. There is nothing 5 star here and at best, it is 3 star. On arrival, we had no hot water, one sheet cover for two of us, the sliding door to bathroom was off itd hinges and the fridge was warm! And this was in a select room! Hot drinks were available in paper cups and the waiter service was dire.t Tables were unlaid and dirty and no drinks were offered. This was our third holiday in Turkey and the worst so fsr. Avoid this hotel at all costs.More

dursan,

Don't book here if you want a 5star experience!

Booked here expecting 5star facilities and more importantly 5star service. Facilities were 3star at best and service was except for our room maid and 1 waiter very poor. We arrived early morning lukewarm welcome and taken to a double room with no view despite having paid extra for a sea view and requested a twin room. To be fair room changed quickly but view still limited. No welcome drink or food offered given a sandwich after asking if any food available. Windy weather for a few days resulted in most quests eating in the dining room-this led to a lack of tables no maitre d to take quests to a table, slow clearing of tables and when you did find a table the table cloths were dirty .Dining here was not a pleasurable experience definitely not a 5star experience, no dress code-do not expect to see men in vests and t shirts at dinner, paper napkins and no drinks service meaning that we had to queue for the drinks. The food was lukewarm and repetitive. The snack bar food was basic and again lukewarm having sat in urns for several hours. Being all inclusive high tea was provided this consisted of ice cream only available once a day and for the first few days sponge cake however the cake did not reappear.after the first few days. Both snack bar and high tea disposable cutlery and plates-definitely not 5star.Could write a book about this hotel and indeed left a 2 page letter for the management, disappointed as this could be a great hotel due to its location. Having expressed my dissatisfaction to the customer relations manager he clearly stated that as the hotel provides 5star facilities it does not need to provide 5star service!!! Avoid this hotel if you expect both! More

Aegean Nightmare Resort

Ah the Aegean Dream how unlucky, I believe it was Dream before the Vera was added, this is the worst HoteI, (I'm struggling with Hotel, it's more like a 1 star Hostel) I have ever been unfortunate enough to stay in; and the Reviews on Tripadvisor were so very misleading, I really wonder who these people are and where they were staying! We arrived after 10.00 pm, to a buffet.....bread which was obviously very attractive and tasty to the local fly community who we're having a right old party on it, a tureen of "soup" it resembled vomit but to be fair I won't call it that as it's unfair on vomit! The chef pointed to "macaroni and cheese" really? That 's nice, the rest of the Bain Marie was empty I had a clear view of the filthy, slimy water it contained...honestly it reminded me of the Nile, we sat with our water gazing intently at the dirty tablecloth before retiring to bed, oh the bliss? Our sea view, I was so glad we paid the extra .....the view from the tiny balcony was breathtaking 2 palm trees, grass, we could see a snippet of sea in the distance at the side, apparently if you can see any sea it's a "sea view" not like the picture on the Jet2 website, I ask myself can things get any worse? Oh Yes! now it's nearly 1.00 am we have no sheet, no problem, a phone call to Reception soon sorts it out, we can now sleep on a bed the size of a trampoline with a single sized sheet between us :) very efficient are things looking up? We missed breakfast, tired out with all the excitement...lunch buffet we were starving, we quickly found seats and a dirty, stained tablecloth, dirty cutlery, it was very busy, impressive buffet, quickly we filled our plates with lukewarm, cold food, avoiding the local fly population who were even enjoying the drinks, in the end I found a lonely orange hiding under his mouldy friends....lunch consisted of 1 orange, nothing else was edible. Ice cream was served in the afternoon if you want to stand in a long queue before being served by a stoney faced woman wearing overalls akin to the condition of the tablecloths but much much worse, those overalls would need more than the recommended 40o! I could go on and on but will save you the misery...it took us 2 days to get moved .....thank you to Sue from Jet 2 we were on the verge of paying a fortune to fly home......if you are considering the Vera Aegean Nightmare.....advice is DON'T DO IT....never never never ever I'd rather chew my own leg off, which I came very close to ?...try the Bodrum Voyage now that is 4 star.....More
