This secluded hotel offers rolling hillside views and a private walled garden with a pool.
Villa Amie may look quintessentially Mediterranean, with white walls and a terracotta-tiled roof, but it’s actually a modern building. For example, it has a contemporary, open-plan layout, yet it retains a traditional feel thanks to beamed ceilings and tiled floors. The bedrooms are simply dressed with neutral palettes and wrought-iron bedsteads. Both have en suite bathrooms with walk-in showers.

The property is set in its own high-walled garden, which is planted with olive trees typical of the area, and looks out on a mountain backdrop. There’s a covered terrace furnished with tables and chairs. From the terrace, steps lead down into a private pool.

In terms of location, the villa is tucked away in the countryside surrounding Bitez village, on a dusty private road with a handful of other villas. The area is well-known for its citrus orchards, and there are numerous hiking trails through mandarin and lemon groves – many start from Bitez harbour, on the left hand curve of the bay. From there, you can take a traditional wooden gulet boat trip and explore the unspoilt coastline.
