Fast forward to dinner and Gumusluk's famous fish restaurants come up trumps. Spread along the beachside, its trickle of simple, wooden-chaired eateries serve up the day's catch. Add the sunset and a nightcap at a traditional bar and your day will be complete.
If you can summon up the energy, head for nearby Yalikavak on a Thursday when a lively street market hits town. Or go for the full-on Turkish experience with a day in charismatic Bodrum, exploring its historic sights and shopping at its colourful bazaar.
