If you’re seeking a super friendly hotel with a first-class service, the Serpina will charm the flip-flops off you.
This hotel has a winning location. It’s just a matter of minutes to get to the beach and its seafront restaurants. You’re equally close to shop and bars, and Bar Street itself is 10 minutes’ walk away tops.
The pool is a pretty good size and there’s a separate pool for children alongside it. Plus the bar here offers a shaded spot for lunch. Talking of food, there’s a restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

Well what can I say.. We have been coming to this hotel for many years and it's like a home away from home.... We had another amazing holiday....all the staff as always are so helpful and friendly and really cannot do enough for you..... My kids also absolutely love it in hotel Serpina and all the staff make sure that they are happy all the time .... The hotel is quiet and clean and very relaxing with a lovely pool.... And once you walk outside you have everything you need on your doorstep chemist, supermarket, restaurants, bars & plenty of shopping!. I have travelled to a lot of places and hotels and this hotel wins everytime .... Thanks so much to Engin you as always were brilliant , also thanks to Lucky who made my kids laugh everyday.... Thanks to Ted and all the staff miss ye already and just home 😫..... My only complaint is we did not have longer than 2 weeks and had to come home Aileen Keith Izzie and Charlie X More
A great first visit in Turkey!
Having travelled with a large group (20+ and mainly children) having a hotel that was patient with our antics was much needed. This hotel in Gumbet region is really good. The rooms are sufficent space with 2 singlea if need be and made ammendments for us as we were such a large group. As stated before, their were many kids and the hotel is kids friendly with a great children's pool. Breakfast was a lovely serving with traditional turkish breakfast options given as well intercontinental. We also had the pleasure of having eating dinner inside the restaurant of the hotel which was spectacular again with cuisines from all over the world. The hotel is about 10 mins away from the city centre/ market however there are local shops right across from the hotel.More
Quiet and Peaceful
Lovely quiet hotel.Close to the beach and town, but just away from the noise of the night life. Our room was clean and roomy with a small balcony (not big enough for 2 to sit on) .Fridge but no kettle. The hotel food was really good and Turkish night was very enjoyable. All the staff are very friendly and helpful . We will definitely stay there again.More

After our 4th visit to the serpina we would definately be booking again. Small friendly hotel ran by some of the most respectful people I have had the pleasure to meet in all my years of travelling to Turkey. The staff cannot do enough for you even taking time to entertain the guests with their Turkish night. The hotel is what it is small and friendly with a few bruises showing but with the lack of tourism in turkey this hotel is doing its very best for its guests and the staff take pride in doing so! renovations to the hotel were taking shape whilst we were staying there. Our room had recently been done and it was spotlessly clean and comfortable which was cleaned every day with fresh towels and bed linen we had no sight of the resident cockroach in our room but when you stay in a hot country you expect to come across the odd cockroach creepy crawly from time to time i Dare say visitors to the UK freak if a spider is seen creeping out the plug hole in their bathroom!More
The Good, The Bad and The Holiday
Where do I start with this review? I can't say it was a bad holiday, but we did have a few issues. We have stayed in Gumbet on 4 or 5 occasions and usually stay at Club Pedalisa, but due to this no longer being offered by Thomsons we decided to give the Hotel Serpina a go. When we arrived we were greeted as reception by one of the owners 'TED' who I have to say is one of the nicest and friendly people I have ever met, he checked us in and showed us the way to our room within no more than 5 minutes. When we entered the room we immediately noticed that it was in need of a little TLC (a fresh lick of paint, a bit of fresh grouting in the bathroom and a few other little DIY jobs). We unpacked and put everything in it's place for our 2 week stay and then proceeded down to the bar for 2 nice refreshing bottle of EFES, this is where we were greeted by Engin, the most hard working and friendliest guy in the world, he was the star of the hotel, nothing was ever too much for him, he always had a smile on his face even after doing a 15-16 hour shift at the hotel. The bar is well stocked with plenty of choices, around the bar area there are plenty of comfy chairs and sofas to relax on if you want a break from the sun. They have a pool table of sorts (you have to give it a go as all you can do is laugh), checkers and backgammon boards for you to play, I gave a few lessons to people who were staying at the hotel. The bar area also has a large TV with a good selection of satellite TV channels. The pool are is large with plenty of sun loungers, parasols and a couple of hammocks, the pool is large and very clean and again a welcome break from the sun. the one thing it did lack around the pool were any bins to put your rubbish or empty ashtrays in. The communal toilets near to the pool area are very clean, but I still find it strange that people pay them a visit in NO FLIP FLOPS!!! The restaurant (which is only for breakfasts) offers a normal Turkish Breakfast consisting of all the things that I do not eat, but I knew this would be the case when we booked, but I will say that They will make you other things for breakfast (eg. scrambled eggs, fried eggs or pancakes) if you ask. There is a coffee machine, orange juice dispenser and toaster. They can also cook you a full English breakfast for 15 lira (around £3) which is good or you can simply stroll a couple of minutes down the road for a breakfast for 10 lira. There are 3 supermarkets within a very close distance to the hotel, the closest being immediately over the road, the walk to the beach takes no longer than 5 minutes where you are greeted with wonderful views of the bay and plenty of bars and restaurants. Now for the few issues I had. I have stayed in Gumbet many times before and have never had the following problems. On our second night at the hotel upon returning to our room, we were greeted in the bathroom by a cockroach (3-4 inches in length), all i will say is that it was fast but me and my girlfriend were faster!!!! I eventually managed to get rid of it but then when I returned to the bathroom there was another coming out of the overflow just under the taps on the sink, I quickly threw some water into the overflow and packed it with toilet paper to prevent any more getting out. The next morning (after day 1 of no sleep) I told the management who were so apologetic and gave us the key to the room next door, we hand carried all of our belongings into our new room and again upon returning to the room that night we had another visit from a large cockroach which scurried under a gap at the bottom of the wall, tired and annoyed i went to reception and they gave us the key for a third room to sleep in for that night (day 2 of no sleep). The next day we were given the keys to a fourth room at the other side of the hotel, which meant packing our belongings back into the case to move and then unpack again. We were told that no cockroaches had ever been seen in the rooms over on this side of the hotel, but we encountered a small one in our bathroom that same night (day 3 of little sleep). I have to admit that the staff did everything they could and were so apologetic and they called the exterminators in to spray everywhere. So after 4 days at the hotel and 4 room moves and roughly 4-5 hours sleep (in total!!), checking the room every evening upon returning became the first task but we did not see anything else. We complained to the Thomsons Rep who came to see us one afternoon and took a full statement, I explained that I had chosen that hotel due to location and ease of access to the restaurants that we liked and the strip. He offered to move us to a hotel which according to google maps was 42 minutes’ walk away from where we were and gave us a second choice of a hotel on Bar Street (where all the noisy pubs and clubs are, which we rejected both offers. Now I don't know about you guys but when we go on holiday we like to do things at our own pace, and we choose to get up when we want in the morning, and as we were not interested in going for breakfast and tired from the lack of sleep over the first four nights, the allocated times for the rep to visit the hotel (9:00-9:30am) to discuss any issues that Thomsons customers may have was not acceptable. We did however make sure we were up early on Saturday 10th June and Monday 12th June to see the rep who did not turn up, even though his timetable for the hotel said he would be there (which I have a photograph of!!! Terrible service from a holiday provider. Now we move to the hotel refurbishments, I fully understand that hotels have to do refurbishments, but doing them during the days while sunbathing and all you can hear is an electric drills and hammering kind of puts you on a bit of a downer when you have paid all that money. The icing on the cake for us was when one of the workmen was bringing wheel barrows full of rubble (tiles, cement, shower bases) round the pool and round to the rear of the hotel while we were sunbathing, and then one day the brought all new showers and a big trolley from the back of the hotel and round the pool to the rooms, and guests were having to move off the sun loungers and move them out of the way so that they could pass. This could have all been done in the evening when no-body was relaxing around the pool. I have all of this on video and photographs of the cockroaches and I am currently in the process of making a major complaint to Thomsons. Finally I would say that I would visit this hotel again as the staff and management were all so nice, but hopefully they will have finished refurbishing.More
