With a good location, a pick of swimming pools, and a lively entertainment scene, the Globales Tamaimo Tropical Hotel is spot on for families.
These apartments are in a great spot for getting out and about. They’re just a 10-minute walk from the centre of Puerto de Santiago, and a small beach is even closer by.
Studios and apartments are simple and bright – think tiled floors, pine-wood furniture, and blue-and-white fabrics. They all come with a balcony, and a kitchenette for when it’s time to cook up something to eat.

3 outdoor pools
Set at the heart of the resort, surrounded by a wide sunbathing terrace, is the main pool. The pool bar snack bar is nearby, so you can enjoy the full day just lazing in the sun. There are two other pools to pick from, one is a little quieter, and one comes heated in winter.
International buffet restaurant*
The restaurant has a choice of either a buffet continental, or full English breakfast. International cuisine is served up for lunch, plus there's show cooking and weekly theme nights, too.
Morrocoyo Italian restaurant*
There is an Italian speciality buffet restaurant open for dinner from Thursday to Sunday serving a range of traditional local, and Italian pasta and pizza specialities. A reservation is required. Just so you know, if the hotel's occupancy is low, the restaurant may only open three nights a week.

Good for family trip
The rooms are medium size and not luxurious, the pool was large with enough Sun beds. the WiFi service is only at the reception with low speed internet. They have a good programs for the kids and it was fine for a family with kids and low budget.More
What a turnaround!
I stayed at the Tamaimo Tropical with my partner and 3 children (twins aged 8 and 1 year old) on the 3rd Feb - 10th Feb. After reading reviews we were VERY apprehensive about our stay, but tried to go in with an open mind. When we entered the lobby area we were pleased, clean, spacious and staff were very helpful. It cost us â¬41 for the safety deposit box â¬10 of which was a deposit so you get this back when you leave. The man on reception was very friendly and efficient and gave clear directions to our room. On entering our room, we wanted to cry! It was awful! Plug sockets hanging off the wall, cupboard doors hanging off, a rip in the side of the travel cot which was big enough for my little one to crawl through! Awful! On top of that there was only a shower when I had requested a bath for my 1 year old and there was 6 coat hangers and 3 drawers for 5 people! We decided we wouldn't let it ruin the holiday though and got ready for the evening meal. We slept well considering we had to have our baby in between us due to cot issues. When we woke up the next morning we were greeted by a stampede of cockroaches! Gross! Never in my life have I complained to anyone about anything before and by no means are we 'snobs' we always stay in 3* hotels but I decided to go and have a grumble to the Thomas cook rep. She made a list of everything and told us she would get someone in to swap the cot and to put the plugs back into the walls. An hour later she came to see us and told us they were moving us to a different room. The room we were moved to was amazing! We had a pool view (quiet pool) it had a bath, more drawers, a bigger wardrobe and was so clean and fresh! I didn't expect to be moved but I am so grateful that we were! The staff and hotel really impressed us! In the day we went to the main pool around the baby pool, it was fab! Entertainment most of the day, BBQ area and pool bar was brilliant! Maria (I think that was her name) in the mini club did everything she could with the kids and did so well to get all the kids of different nationalities mixing and playing together! Our 8 year olds learnt how to say hello in 4 different languages! The pools are very cold but once you're in they are fine! There is a quiet pool but we didn't go around that one with having 3 kids! Our room over looked the quiet pool, which in the day was fine - at night the mini disco and entertainment was by our room but once balcony door (and bathroom door oddly) were closed it was fine! Sun beds aren't really an issue there are plenty to go around! Some did reserve but it's more reserving the area than the beds! (We did this on 3 days to be near the baby pool). Food was ok! My 1 year old lived off pasta and chips with fruit for pudding! I found the food lovely and always found something I enjoyed however my partner who is a fussy eater did struggle on 3 days! However he just filled up at the BBQ bar in the day! People were moaning about WIFI however it wasn't an issue for us as we go on holiday to relax not sit on electronics! We never used the wifi so can't comment on speed etc. Check out was quick and easy and lisa the Thomas cook rep was again fab! After our first day we said it had put us off coming back to Tenerife not just the hotel (we normally go to the Balearics in summer) however the staff were amazing and after being moved our minds were changed and we would definitely return here! Nice week at Tamaimo Tropical
We stayed at the Tamaimo Tropical for a week and overall it is a really nice. Whilst very clean and friendly, the overall up keep of the resort needs a lick of paint and general up date. Also whilst the cleaners are very good and friendly. You might experience early morning wake-ups, as they start sweeping and chatting (they work from 7AM). The resort is predominantly French and we found some of the holiday makers were not so considerate of other people. But overall OK.More
3rd floor on sunny side overlooking the quieter of the two larger pools. Navigating the hotel complex can be a bit challenging but worth the effort. Quite a spacious one bed apartment with good balcony. Very clean throughout with good room service. Paid for WIFI premium but very weak in apartment and had to use balcony to get decent connection. Overall we came home very pleased with the hotel and would certainly consider a revisit.some street disturbance during small hours such as binmen and @ 3.15 am regular passing of female giggling voices which I asssumed were late workers going home. Offer of all inclusive by reception when we arrived was too good to refuse. Overall the food was very good. Reception staff apart from one encounter, were very helpful and cheerful. Could only get BBC World News and Eurosport. Another guest said they were getting BBC1 and ITV and that would have been very welcome for our 10 day stay. Overall a well run hotel - well done.More
