Globales Tamaimo Tropical Apartments

With a good location, 5 swimming pools, and a lively entertainment scene, this place is spot on for families. The apartments are a good size, too. It's also bagged a nice and central spot, so shops, bars, and restaurants are on hand.

These apartments are in a great spot for getting out and about. They’re just a five-minute walk from the nearest shops, restaurants and bars, and ten minutes from the centre of Puerto de Santiago. What’s more, Puerto Santiago or Playa la Arena beach is less than a five-minute drive away, so it’s easy to fit in some time on the sand. If you want to explore the rest of Tenerife, meanwhile, buses run from the centre of town.

Back at the apartments, most of the action takes place around the pools. There are five of them here, including two for little ones. They’re all bordered by palms, loungers and parasols, and a thatched pool bar offers up drinks and snacks throughout the day. You can expect plenty in the way of pool-based games, too, like water polo and aqua aerobics. Elsewhere, there’s darts, boules and archery.

When it comes to mealtimes, ‘choice’ is the watchword. The restaurant has a buffet set up, and in the mornings you can look forward to the likes of cooked breakfasts, pastries with a selection of jams and marmalades. For lunch and dinner, international favourites like pizza and spaghetti bolognaise sit alongside fish and rice dishes.

Lastly, a word on entertainment. This place has two bars, so you’re all set for after-dinner cocktails. If you want to up the pace a little, though, head over to the lounge area – there’s entertainment here most nights, with quizzes, cabaret shows and karaoke all on the agenda.

Great time!

We just been for 2 weeks all inclusive with 2 kids (2 and 4 years old). We had a lovely holiday, the ground floor apartment we had was functional and above all very clean. The 2 girls from Kidsclub were great! The food was not really special (not very hot so use the microwave) but ok. The service in the restaurant and reception was good and friendly. Bar staff around the pool needs to learn to smile...All the pools and especially the kids pool (!!!) are from 7 am in the morning full of non parents that 'reserve' their sunbeds with their towels. And although it was funny to watch the first couple of days you have to do it too otherwise you don't have a sunbed! Absolutely appalling. The reason people 'reserve their sunbeds is because everybody wants a recliner sunbed. Solution: get rid of the other flat ones and replace them for the recliner ones, it is that simple!!! Also, if you put a nice colorful wooden gate around the (little) kids pool, kids can't wonder off (like ours...) keeps parents happy and it keep it free from (smoking) non parents. Easy solution... Overall, we had a great time but the 'pool problems' let the hotel down a little.More

Another good value holiday

This is our second visit here, and one of the problems of people who write negative reviews is that they hav forgotten that they have booked a 3 star hotel in Tenerife, and not a 3 star hotel in the UK. The difference between the two countries is quite significant. If people want a 'Ritz' standard, then they need to look at hotels with a 5 star rating. We had a great time, and knew what to expect from this hotel and the staff. I agree that some things can be irritating when you are on holiday, but that's life I am afraid. The food was fine and we never had any issues, but when they are trying to feed 300 people at the same time, sometimes it can be difficult. Personally, I would have preferred a slightly wider choice of some of the food, but none of us were unable to find something we liked. Sunbeds were a problem, but blame the British who put there towels at midnight. The pool was clean and tidy, as were the rooms. I must admit that the hotel is a bit rough around the edges, but a few minor tweaks could make it far better. Overall we had a good time as did most of the people we spoke to. Do not be put off by some of the negative comments on this site.More

Fantastic Holiday

My wife and I traveled to this lovely hotel on the 12th of October for a late cheap getaway in the sunshine and we were not disappointed with any aspect of our stay, we travel abroad quite often and always try to enjoy wherever we are and this was no exception. The room was a very large 1 bedroom apartment and was of a very good size and was cleaned daily by very pleasant cleaning team, we were staying All-Inclusive however the room was equipped with everything you would need if you were self-catering, we had room 378 and had a nice view over the quiet pool, lifts were no problem but occasionally we would use the stairs if it was meal times etc. The food was of a good standard and there was always plenty of choice, food was replaced on a regular basis and was presented well, we always found at least 3/4 different meats and some fish on offer along with salad and veggies, not sure what else people expect really. The drinks were plentiful and not watered down, as we paid a brilliant rate for our holiday we did go out later most evenings to the local bars, Route 66 was a bit pricey for drinks but they did have some great bands on, we ate out in San Francisco Steak house and the Pescador 2, both were excellent and great value for money. The area of Santiago and Los Gigantes is very pretty and a delight to just sit and chill in. We had a fantastic storm on our final night and as a result the hotel had a few problems with water, the staff seemed to handle it as best they could. So in conclusion we had great holiday met some fantastic people and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, well done to all the staff and thank you for great service. We will definately return soon.More

A pleasant surprise!

I booked this hotel in January through Thomas Cook via a recommendation from the travel agent. On reading the reviews I was actually dreading the holiday. It was my daughters first time abroad and it was only the 2 of us. On the transfer to the hotel(over an hour on the bus) we were the only ones going to the hotel which heightened my anxiety. The reception was bright and airy -good first impression but like all things Canarian was very slow. The ease of finding the room was as explained in other reviews-at first its like a maze but you do get used to it. The room was pretty big and really clean-i had taken anti bac and everything with me just in case. Room service was in every day except Sunday. There were fans in the living area and the bedroom. My opinion was rising at this point. The food was ok. Was fresh but some of it looked unappetising. If you can get past that most of it was fine . There was a children's buffet which my daughter-the fussiest child ever-always found something at.The pool grill was ok-didnt seem so fresh. There is another restaurant but this was fully booked the whole time we were there. The pools were clean but really busy-sunbeds were an issue at times. The pool near the restaurant was usually quieter. The evening entertainment was really good and varied and there were daily daytime activities too. The drinks were readily available. At meal times it was self service. Beer wine sangria soft drinks water and hot drinks were all there. The bar service was speedy but usually only one staff member on at a time. The drinks were in plastic cups-water cooler sized ones. The plastic didn't bother me but they could be bigger. The staff were brilliant-Jennifer deserves a special mention. She was great! Overall the hotel was really good. The disappointing thing mainly is the location. It's ideal if all you want to do us laze around the pool but its ages away on the always late bus to go anywhere. The stairs to the bus Stop-103 of them- looked pretty steep but they were better than the hill. Would I recommend the hotel-yes. Would u go back-possibly not because of where it is! Beautiful area but too far away to travel with young kids!More
