Globales Tamaimo Tropical Apartments

With a good location, 5 swimming pools, and a lively entertainment scene, this place is spot on for families. The apartments are a good size, too. It's also bagged a nice and central spot, so shops, bars, and restaurants are on hand.

These apartments are in a great spot for getting out and about. They’re just a five-minute walk from the nearest shops, restaurants and bars, and ten minutes from the centre of Puerto de Santiago. What’s more, Puerto Santiago or Playa la Arena beach is less than a five-minute drive away, so it’s easy to fit in some time on the sand. If you want to explore the rest of Tenerife, meanwhile, buses run from the centre of town.

Back at the apartments, most of the action takes place around the pools. There are five of them here, including two for little ones. They’re all bordered by palms, loungers and parasols, and a thatched pool bar offers up drinks and snacks throughout the day. You can expect plenty in the way of pool-based games, too, like water polo and aqua aerobics. Elsewhere, there’s darts, boules and archery.

When it comes to mealtimes, ‘choice’ is the watchword. The restaurant has a buffet set up, and in the mornings you can look forward to the likes of cooked breakfasts, pastries with a selection of jams and marmalades. For lunch and dinner, international favourites like pizza and spaghetti bolognaise sit alongside fish and rice dishes.

Lastly, a word on entertainment. This place has two bars, so you’re all set for after-dinner cocktails. If you want to up the pace a little, though, head over to the lounge area – there’s entertainment here most nights, with quizzes, cabaret shows and karaoke all on the agenda.

Nice hotel

Just returned from a pleasant hoilday here with my son ,his girlfriend and my mother. Had to upgrade as few teeth problems with black of beds, which I did email hotel about but had no reply but sorted swiftly without any problems for a small fee but again worth it. Unfortunately there seems to be no air conditioning in rooms (though reception told me there are in the single rooms) you do have fans can be a little noisy but these need to be on all the time as it's very warm. Rooms are basic but adequate for all your ends nice flat tv (remote 10 euro deposit) few English channels one being true movies which mother enjoyed. Sun beds can be a little tricky to get as most people do (though hotel do state this is not permitted) reserve them. You can get a nice massage by the pool side, there is also a hairdressers within the hotel and a jacuzzi that costs 5 euro for half an hr. Food I can't comment as I was self catering. A must if you are self catering is to try NINOs 2 which is by Route 66 (round corner from hotel) great food sangria and shots and lovely helpful owners. Hotel reception were also very helpful cleaning was every other day no problems there air con in reaction is very refreshing and great internet access which is free but only works in reception. Location good as shops pubs bars round the corner. And beautiful views of the gigantes mountains . All in all this hotel was good, I've seen worse. It's clean tidy and comfortable throughout.More

Enjoyable stay

Forget about the negative reviews as we really enjoyed our stay. Room was very good. Staff at reception were excellent and room cleaning was also excellent. Two pools were good. Usual placing of towels on pool beds, but plenty of beds. We did not go 'all-inclusive', but paid for evening buffet once. Plenty of starters and deserts but main course was very limited. Went to local restaurants instead at more or less the same cost with better food and more pleasant and varied surroundings. Particularly good restaurants: El Timon (beside HiperDino Supermarket, great evening sunset, lovely staff), El Pescador (opposite El Timon, plenty of food, no charge for extra), El Meson(up the steps from the hotel), Los Corales(on way to La Arena, great sea-view) Local bus was great. Can cut the cost by buying a 'Bono' bus ticket in off-license opposite post office.More

was worried after reviews but....

had nothing at all to worry about, we arrived on friday evening around 12.30pm myself husband and our 3 year old daughter we were taken to our room which is lovely and big, overlooking the large pool.. We havent yet had any problem getting a sunbed even later on in the day, although we have witnessed some people reserving them at 10.30pm!!.. Food is fine always something to eat and our little girl eats it fine too.. We paid for our wee girl to go to kids club which is 5 euro per session or 3 for 10 euro and she has loved it also .. Mini disco at night is also fine and our wee girl has made some lovely wee friends.. To anyone who is expecting more please go else where, this is a 3 star hotel and that is exactly what you get .. We would come back here again in a min.. first time to tenerife and we love it... we dont leave until next friday and I am sure we will have many more lovely days around the pool and meeting new people xMore

Don't pay attention to negative reviews, hotel is absolutely fine!

We stayed here from 7th - 14th September. We booked through Thompson, all inclusive. Before we left (but after we'd booked and paid for the holiday) we read some, well no not some, LOADS of the negative reviews in here, and it's fair to say we were gutted. We even thought about cancelling the holiday! However I'm so glad we took a chance as we had a brilliant time! We arrived late at the hotel, after the hotels restaurant had closed, but once we arrived in our rom after check in, we found a cold meal (bread, butter, cheese, meat, cream cheese, apples) left in the room which was nice of the hotel. In regards to the room there was nothing wrong with it, the decor is basic and abit out dated but it was pleasant and clean! Towels and extra pillows were provided in the room, we had a balcony, good air con, seperate living room, bathroom and a balcony (and obviously a seperate bedroom). The bedroom had two single beds but we just pushed these together and it was fine! (There were even extra sheets in the wardrobe, not that you'd need them as it was so hot!). The cleaning staff were excellent, the only days we didn't have our rooms cleaned were the days we left the 'Do not disturb' sign on the door all day, beds were changed every time the cleaners came in and towels replaced. Other than that there wasn't much for them to do as I had a tidy up every night/morning anyway. We had absolutely no complaints about the staff, they were all pleasant and very hard working! Especially the resturant staff! They were running about like maniacs all through their shifts! Reception staff were helpful and pleasant and our rep Carlos was very helpful and informative. We hired a car from a rep in the hotel lobby for 3 days and Carlos advised us the best placed to visit, including Mount Teide (the last active volcano in the area) and Loro Parque - both well worth a visit. As others have said, we had no problems getting a place at the pool the days we stayed in the hotel, sun beds were ample, and there was plenty of space. At the weekend, a lot of Spanish holiday makers did indeed turn up, but this was no problem for us. We didn't find them rude or obnoxious, and found that on the days we had early(ish) nights, once in our bedroom we couldn't hear anything from the bars at all. The food in the restaurant was not brilliant, but having said that, I am abit fussy about what I eat abroad (I'm terrified of food poisoning) but there was plenary of stuff I found to eat at each meal that was fine. My partners abit more adventurous and enjoyed several of the stews, sausages, bacon, eggs, chicken etc. The only niggle I had was the heat in the restaurant, it was like a sauna every meal time, and unless you got a precious seat under a fan, it wasn't the best of times. My partner copes better with extreme heat than I do, so he was happy enough, but if you struggle to cope with stifling heat, I'd recommend eating in the resturant later in the evening or if your having breakfast/lunch, try going a little closer to when service will finish so there will be less people, and more lovely fan seats! Overall though we had a lovely time, and we'd reccomend the hotel to others. We're both young (23 & 25) but have outgrown being out partying all night with drunk people trailing past your room vomiting and shouting at all times of the night, so this place was perfect for us. There's some beautiful walks to towns close to Purerto de Santiago and some lovely beaches. This towns the perfect place for a quiet, romantic get away with your other half, and the Tamiamo Tropical hotels a lovely place to call home for however long! More

Poppy1589,

Bad reviews are unjustified

Booked a last minute week here for our honeymoon. Was pleasantly surprised. The room was large, very clean and well equipped. Food was good and lots of choices. 2 large pool areas, one with music a day activities, one very quiet so take your pick. No shortage of sunbeds, but if you want to a particular spot, get up early and stick your towel on it, everyone does it and no one complains. The only downside is the evening entertainment, it is very poor and starts very late. A good base for a relaxing holiday, which was just what we wanted. More
