With a good location, 5 swimming pools, and a lively entertainment scene, this place is spot on for families. The apartments are a good size, too. It's also bagged a nice and central spot, so shops, bars, and restaurants are on hand.
These apartments are in a great spot for getting out and about. They’re just a five-minute walk from the nearest shops, restaurants and bars, and ten minutes from the centre of Puerto de Santiago. What’s more, Puerto Santiago or Playa la Arena beach is less than a five-minute drive away, so it’s easy to fit in some time on the sand. If you want to explore the rest of Tenerife, meanwhile, buses run from the centre of town.
Back at the apartments, most of the action takes place around the pools. There are five of them here, including two for little ones. They’re all bordered by palms, loungers and parasols, and a thatched pool bar offers up drinks and snacks throughout the day. You can expect plenty in the way of pool-based games, too, like water polo and aqua aerobics. Elsewhere, there’s darts, boules and archery.
When it comes to mealtimes, ‘choice’ is the watchword. The restaurant has a buffet set up, and in the mornings you can look forward to the likes of cooked breakfasts, pastries with a selection of jams and marmalades. For lunch and dinner, international favourites like pizza and spaghetti bolognaise sit alongside fish and rice dishes.
Lastly, a word on entertainment. This place has two bars, so you’re all set for after-dinner cocktails. If you want to up the pace a little, though, head over to the lounge area – there’s entertainment here most nights, with quizzes, cabaret shows and karaoke all on the agenda.

This hotel is definitely not a 3 star hotel! Judging it, I would say that this hotel is 2 stars. My family and I were booked into this hotel for a week all inclusive and overall we were disappointed. The pools were ok and the staff were friendly enough but there were several things that made our stay hell! All together there was 8 of us therefore we had booked out 3 rooms. Our rooms were cleanish when we arrived but most of the furniture was frayed and torn apart. In my room the floor tiles were cracked and the kitchen worktop was chipped and stained. One of the head boards on the bed had completely been separated from the bed so we had to remove it and put it to one side as it made a terrible noise when we were moving about in the bed at night. Where our apartment was, it was very noisy in the night as we could constantly here people walking back and forth to their rooms. In our other room, the fridge was damaged which resulted in a huge pool of water being left at the bottom, we could not use it. The hair dryer had been snapped off the wall and there were also stained worktops, like in the other room. In another one of our rooms where my auntie, uncle and cousin stayed there was an awful smell of dampness. There were ants crawling everywhere in the bedroom and they would even crawl on their faces in the night. As they stayed on the first floor, their bedroom was located at the back of the apartment which made the room dark and it almost seemed like a cave. The sunbed situation is crazy, if you stay here you will not have any chance of sleeping in as the sunbeds are unchained at 8am and by 8:30am they are all gone and have all been reserved. My dad had to wake up at 7am every morning just to ensure we had our sunbeds. Even when sunbathing, there were drains located around us which gave out an awful smell. The food and snacks were ok but got a bit repetitive. We decided to call the burgers rat burgers as they turned us sick. After staying here for 3 days we decided that we couldn't bare the place any longer and so we paid extra to stay in the Barcelo Santiago which is 2 minutes around the corner from this hotel. The Barcelo only has one more star than this hell hole which is completely insane as the Barcelo was like a different world! It rescued our holiday! More
is what it is.
Just got back from a week all inclusive. Went with fiancée and my 12 year old daughter. The hotel is nice and clean and the staff were friendly enough. The food was as good as any other all inc holiday I've been on. Always hot and never a shortage. Breakfast was probably our favourite meal. The drinks were ok. The beer was fine but the spirits were far to strong and the coke and diet coke were flat and didn't taste like they should. Sprite was nice and water is available everywhere and is nice and cold. The weather was amazing so make sure you have enough sunscreen as you need it! The pools are fab. The subbed situation is stupid. We missed one day as we slept in till 9am and couldn't get sun bed all day even thou people have towels on beds all day but don't use them till gone 4pm! This needs to be sorted by the hotel getting more sun beds!! It's not rocket science.. The town is very small and it's very hilly and quiet. The evening entertainment was pants. We spent most evenings in our balcony playing cards. There is a nice bar in the village called Route 66 which has live music every night, good selection of drinks and is a great night out. We did enjoy our holiday but I wouldn't return there but I would go back to tenerife. More

Sat here on our balcony due to fly home tonight from an absolutely brilliant holiday that my 17 year old has declared his best ever!. This is a lovely hotel, the apartment is amazing, so spacious, and our balcony overlooks the smaller pool, which in our opinion is the nicest of the two. On arrival we upgraded to all inclusive, and we have loved it. The food is hot, lots of choice, usually a meat dish, fish, pasta dish, rice, salads, all good quality. However if you are looking for pie and chips, curry, kebabs or shepherds pie, which we weren't, then I suggest you self cater as this is a Spanish hotel which cooks international food, my two teenage boys filled their plates every night, willing to try anything and they ate at lunch too. At the bigger pool in the day is a grill bar serving burgers, chips, hotdogs, the food here is great. All inclusive drinks are very generous measures! Again lots of choice, yes they are served in plastic glasses but this is a necessity when people are round a pool and I didn't have to worry about my boys dropping glasses. Entertainment is ok, our boys were too old for the kiddies disco etc but we watched singers and a dance show, they made some friends and often found a table and played cards. it feels very safe here and we were able to let them walk to the supermarket by themselves. There are table tennis and pool tables to keep them occupied too. We have not seen a single cockroach here. We spotted some lizards round the complex and in the streets surrounding, they are cute. Puerto Santiago is beautiful, very hilly, the walk along the front to La Arena is breathtaking. Try the dolphin watching trips from Los Gigantes. It feels like a more authentic Tenerife than the south with it's big resorts, the view of the Los gigantes cliffs is awe inspiring. We have found staff here to be busy but friendly, always happy to help, when my DVD of the dolphin trip didn't show up in reception from a local boat company, the guy in reception phoned them for me and got it sorted even though it's nothing to do with the hotel. A member of staff greets you in the restaurant, shows you to your table, if you say hello and thank you it goes a long way. Sun bed situation is amusing and entertaining and some mornings we watched people sit out from 7.30 to grab a bed, and we still found four later in the morning! I think parasols are grabbed even earlier! To sum up, this is a Spanish hotel in Tenerife in the Canary Islands which has nice food, plentiful drinks, views of the island that are stunning, situated in a quiet but picturesque area. If you want blackpool with sun, egg and chips and real ales this isn't the place for you. incidentally we didn't hear noise in the night, the music was until about 12 but you could still hear music from local bars but it didn't bother us. Yes there were children running about but not causing harm just enjoying themselves, this is a family hotel. A word of warning for families the beach isn't suitable for children and was actually taped off whilst we were here. We met some lovely people have great memories, I don't want to go home. This holiday really has been Tamaimo Terrific! I would return here again no problem.More

An excellent holiday!!
I went to this hotel for a week with my husband and we had an amazing time. Our room was a good size, cleaned every day and more than adequate for what we needed. We were all inclusive and found the food was always good. There was always a good choice of food to cater for all needs and tastes and in our opinion it always tasted lovely. The staff were always friendly and helpful whenever it was needed. There was a really good range of drinks included in the all inclusive, always gave you the choice of something different. Yes, you had to get up early to get a sunbed but this is no different from any holiday we have been on. A great holiday- we would definitely go back.More
Nothing wrong with this hotel except sun bed situation.
We have just returned from 2 weeks All Inclusive, I was all geared up for complaining after reading all the reviews on here, However there was nothing I needed to complain about! The only issue really was the race for the sun beds in a morning and waiting for the beds to be unlocked, if you didn't go out at 8am to get a bed then you wouldn't get one simple as! Good Points : No problem with the food, always fresh refilling whatever is empty, it is always hot and lots of choice, I ate lots of fresh salad and pasta, admittedly there were a few times when I questioned what it was but no problems at all, we are a family of 4 and all found plenty to eat. You are in a different country so expect the food to be different just like it is everywhere else you go. The rooms were very clean, I even took my own Flash wipes with me to give it the once over when I first arrived but found no dirt on the cloth after wiping which I was pleased about, I don't normally do things like that but after reading the reviews before going I thought I'd better be on the safe side, The staff were always smiling and happy to help, a smile and hello goes a long way. The Kids had a great time, there were lots of children in the hotel and very family friendly they made lots of friends and spent most of the time in the pool, this appeared always to be clean, no issues with the pool. Entertainment in an evening was ok, could be better but nothing major to complain about. Some nights we went out of the hotel to a bar called Route 66 or the court yard it made a change from stopping in the hotel and kids loved it, especially the karaoke in the courtyard !!!! We spent most of our second week away from the hotel, we walked to Los Gigantes a few times and hired a boat, we also went on a Catermaran in Las Americas saw Whales and Dolphins this was ace and definately worth a visit, on one of the days we went to Aqua Land, this was instead of Siam Park as my girls too small for some of the slides. Overall we had fantastic weather, met some fabulous friends and had lots of laughs , isn't that what holidays are about. Go and see for yourself Hotel Tamaimo and ignore all the ridiculous reviews they make me laugh!More
