Globales Tamaimo Tropical Apartments

With a good location, 5 swimming pools, and a lively entertainment scene, this place is spot on for families. The apartments are a good size, too. It's also bagged a nice and central spot, so shops, bars, and restaurants are on hand.

These apartments are in a great spot for getting out and about. They’re just a five-minute walk from the nearest shops, restaurants and bars, and ten minutes from the centre of Puerto de Santiago. What’s more, Puerto Santiago or Playa la Arena beach is less than a five-minute drive away, so it’s easy to fit in some time on the sand. If you want to explore the rest of Tenerife, meanwhile, buses run from the centre of town.

Back at the apartments, most of the action takes place around the pools. There are five of them here, including two for little ones. They’re all bordered by palms, loungers and parasols, and a thatched pool bar offers up drinks and snacks throughout the day. You can expect plenty in the way of pool-based games, too, like water polo and aqua aerobics. Elsewhere, there’s darts, boules and archery.

When it comes to mealtimes, ‘choice’ is the watchword. The restaurant has a buffet set up, and in the mornings you can look forward to the likes of cooked breakfasts, pastries with a selection of jams and marmalades. For lunch and dinner, international favourites like pizza and spaghetti bolognaise sit alongside fish and rice dishes.

Lastly, a word on entertainment. This place has two bars, so you’re all set for after-dinner cocktails. If you want to up the pace a little, though, head over to the lounge area – there’s entertainment here most nights, with quizzes, cabaret shows and karaoke all on the agenda.

value for money

Just arrived back home after 2 weeks at this hotel, and would definitely stay here again. The food, accommodation, were all first class and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was very clean and the reception staff could"nt do enough to make your stay a happy one. Anyone who has any complaints about this hotel must be very very difficult to please. The only down side to this hotel is the 118 steps opposite that have to be climbed to get to the shops etc. and the other downside is if you go with Thomson the rep in the hotel is as much use as a chocolate fire guard.other than that its a brilliant place to go .More

VERY rude staff, not wanting to help whatsoever with any matters. Staff seemed grumpy and reluctant to communicate as if we were an inconvenience. Wine was shocking, like watered down vinegar, food was no better, although the 'al a carte' Italian buffet was a little better but not a stretch. Wifi was paid for for the week to have in our room, yet had little or no connection in the room, waste of money!!! Would not recommend this hotel, and certainly will NOT be returning. Rooms were very untidy and unclean, the tables in the room were sticky and had not been cleaned for god knows how long, sheets stained, mirrors were dirty from last guest, toilet was unclean and the air con/heating did not work. The only good quality this hotel has is its location, we spent the majority of the holiday out of the hotel and paid for meals out rather than eat the all inclusive meals provided. Very dissatisfied and unhappy about how much was paid to stay in such a horrid place. Would not recommend.More

what are they talking about?.

Just got back from tamaimo hotel, don't know what some reviews are on about, we found the food very good and plenty to choose from ,both the Spanish and English staff were friendly and help full,we always got a sun bed every morning, our apartment was on the ground floor, looking out over the pool, our place was kept very clean,as was the rest of the hotel, for a 3 star ,l thought we got more than we paid for,and that wasn't much either,we would stay there again, for sure, don't know what some people expect.More

Good value hotel

Just returned from a 10 day stay at this hotel, this is the second time I have stayed hear, the last time was 3 years ago. ( February 2011 ) We all have our own opinions depending on our expectations I always read reviews of hotels I intend to say in and have come to the conclusion that 1…. This is a 3* hotel but everyone has a different expectation on what they expect from a 3* hotel 2…. Your luck on the room you get and its location in the hotel. 3…. How much you have paid for your stay 4…. The time of the year you go, and how busy the hotel is. Conclusion 1 ….the hotel looks in resalable condition, the pool and pool area was kept clean each day, including clearing up all the empty and unfinished drink cups just left sitting around, during my stay they even repainted the pool area, they also tried hard to keep the barbeque area clear of pigeons, but in my opinion if people had been bothered to put there rubbish and uneaten food in the bins provided and not left them on the tables this would not have been a problem in the first place. The surrounding paths and walkways looked like they had been washed down each morning. Conclusion 2…. There are two main arrears to this hotel, the first which I would consider to be the nosier part, consisting of a pool bar with music playing, main pool and kids pool, with accommodation blocks A,B,C and D. and a quitter area which also had a pool bar ( no music playing ), main pool with accommodation blocks E,F,G and H, although part of block H does have the disco underneath it. The first time I stayed I had block H, I didn’t hear the disco so must have been up the other end of the block, nice room, but basic, this time I was in block C a bit nosier during the day due to the music from the pool bar, but not really that loud, the room looked like it had been recently updated with a good overall look and a very nice bathroom with a very large shower. My room was kept clean, with towels and bedding changed, except Sundays. Conclusion 3….my first stay I was room only, I only ate at the hotel once for dinned and breakfast and I found the food to be ok, this time I booked really late and got a good deal and for some unknown reason I found it cheaper to book a 1 bed apartment all inclusive than a 1 bed apartment room only. The food had a good variation and for me was better on some days then others, but I managed to find something to fill me up and only ate out at a near by restaurant on 3 occasions, this was really just for a change of atmosphere and I think its important to support the local businesses. Conclusion 4….The first time I stayed hear I arrived only to find the queue for booking in was out the door and half way down the street, it was an hour later before I got to my room. This time I walked straight up to the reception desk and was in my room in 5 minuets. I didn’t find any problems getting a sunbed or finding a table in the restaurant. The hotel is situated in a quiet area with a few shops and restaurants close by, as other reviewers have mentioned you either have a steep hill or 108 steps to get to the bus stop to take you out and about, so if you are less mobile then a taxi would be your only alterative. Unless you stay in a hotel very close to the coast your going to have problems with hills or steps, remember Tenerife is a volcano, so your either going up or down.More
