Globales Tamaimo Tropical Apartments

With a good location, 5 swimming pools, and a lively entertainment scene, this place is spot on for families. The apartments are a good size, too. It's also bagged a nice and central spot, so shops, bars, and restaurants are on hand.

These apartments are in a great spot for getting out and about. They’re just a five-minute walk from the nearest shops, restaurants and bars, and ten minutes from the centre of Puerto de Santiago. What’s more, Puerto Santiago or Playa la Arena beach is less than a five-minute drive away, so it’s easy to fit in some time on the sand. If you want to explore the rest of Tenerife, meanwhile, buses run from the centre of town.

Back at the apartments, most of the action takes place around the pools. There are five of them here, including two for little ones. They’re all bordered by palms, loungers and parasols, and a thatched pool bar offers up drinks and snacks throughout the day. You can expect plenty in the way of pool-based games, too, like water polo and aqua aerobics. Elsewhere, there’s darts, boules and archery.

When it comes to mealtimes, ‘choice’ is the watchword. The restaurant has a buffet set up, and in the mornings you can look forward to the likes of cooked breakfasts, pastries with a selection of jams and marmalades. For lunch and dinner, international favourites like pizza and spaghetti bolognaise sit alongside fish and rice dishes.

Lastly, a word on entertainment. This place has two bars, so you’re all set for after-dinner cocktails. If you want to up the pace a little, though, head over to the lounge area – there’s entertainment here most nights, with quizzes, cabaret shows and karaoke all on the agenda.

Lovely hotel but not for wheelchair users

Safe deposit box 31.50 euros per week + 10 euros deposit Remote control for the television - 10 euros deposit Jacuzzi - 5 euros / 30 minutes Laundry - 5 euros Internet - 1 euro/ 10 minutes WIFI - 30 minutes free per day in reception area Tennis (with reservation ) / Table tennis / French balls - 5 euros deposit Rooms are cleaned daily, except Sundays. Change of sheets: every 4 days, change of towels: every 2 days Check out time at 12 pm but you can do late check out from 20 euros If the hotel is not overbooked. Pools are open 10 am- 6 pm , one of the 5 pools is heated Hotel restaurant is really nice. If you would like to have a balcony where the sun is shining the most time of the day then get a room at section H or section D. We had a room at section G what is an extra loud area (TAKE EARPLUGS with you :-) ). We could not move from there because we needed a disabled friendly apartment. My friend is in a wheelchair , he liked the place but he doesn't recommend to wheelchair users unless you are good at transferring. (e.g.: from a normal bed to a wheelchair) . In the wet room there is an unexpected sunken shower tray what is definitely not for wheelchair users. The apartment got very cold at night but there were blankets in the cupboard and you can always ask for extra ones. The hotel staff is fantastic, they are very friendly. Angela (cleaner lady) is an angel :-) . Supermarkets: HIPERDINO (walking distance) and LIDL Restaurants with a brilliant view: El Timon and San Ramo (next to HIPERDINO)More

Daniel L,

Good but not Wow

This was a last minute booking and we consider ourselves fortunate to have found such a lovely hotel. The location is in a quiet area of town with coach pick up from the foyer for excursions. Local buses run from the top of the steps opposite the hotel but, be prepared to take an oxygen mask with you if you want to climb them! There is a disabled parking bay outside the hotel. Los Gigantes is about a twenty minute walk away giving access to boat trips, jet skis, scuba etc.. Our apartment was spacious, acceptably clean and well furnished. Beds were firm and very comfortable. Our ground floor room overlooked one of the two pool complexes but was still very private. The entire hotel is very clean and well maintained. The towels were changed mid week and additional complimentary toiletries were available from reception. The free wi-fi was reasonably fast, restricted to 30 minutes per device, per day. Food was not always very hot but a microwave in the restaurant was used by guests. The selection is good, catering for all tastes. The drinks were a bit "hit and miss" and only served in plastic cups. The selection was adequate for most people. Staff were very friendly and helpful and quick to sort out any problems. As with any resort, only as noisy as the other guests. A good family/couples hotel which we would be happy to use again.More
