It’s close to the beach and centre of town, but with its extensive gardens, the Hotel Catalonia Las Vegas feels nicely tucked away.
You’ve got mountains in one direction and the ocean in the other, so the views at this place are pretty impressive. A rocky beach and the Lago Martiánez pool complex are just over the road, while the old town is five minutes’ walk away.
Palm trees and tropical blooms sprawl throughout the hotel’s grounds, and into the glasshouse-like lobby. Bedrooms come with pine-wood floors and fixtures, and furnishings in complementary shades of navy.

Mostly Great hotel
Hotel room was lovely very clean bathroom a bit outdated but acceptable. Food was lovely although the staff would benefit from being more welcoming and happy in dinning room. Pool area kept spotless but very dated lifeguard was lovely helping everyone great getting the kids floats, he is a credit to the hotel. The hotel has no courtesy room when you have a late flight so not ideal. In general good value for money hotel is perfectly situated with lovely sea views.More
hotel is in an amazing location right next to the beach and the restaurants. the hotel itself was fantastic, always clean and decor was lovely. plenty to do in and around the hotel and staff were very helpful and friendly. would definitely recommend especially as price is so cheap for a hotel that deserves more than 4 stars.More
Just returned from our stay at the Catalonia Las Vegas. We have stayed in this hotel several times but this is our first visit for almost three years. The bar staff at the pool bar and in the hotel are wonderful, so friendly and helpful. The food was not what we experienced on previous visits, there was nowhere near as much variety and when the trays were empty they seemed to be slow replacing them. Our room on the 11th floor was fantastic, fabulous view over the lido and seafront. It was immaculate when we arrived and cleaned daily to an exceptionally high standard. My negative points are the younger of the two lifeguards was totally inconsistent with his rules ( I agree that people should only be allowed to leave their sunbeds unoccupied for 30 minutes before having their towels removed) but he made a real fuss one day when we were going for lunch - which only took us about 20 minutes at the longest - and would not allow us to leave our towels there, but a on the same day others were gone for up to 2 hours and this happened every day we were by the pool! If there are rules everyone should be treated the same totally inconsistent and quite rude! My other issue was we tried to book a room as we had a late flight, we approached the staff several times about this and were told check tomorrow each time, there was no room available at all and neither was there a curtesy room for anyone with late flights to use. I think that this needs to be looked at by the hotel as we all pay large amounts of money to stay here and this is something that is needed. Despite the two problems I have raised we had a great holiday here and will stay here again in the future.More

Nice hotel well located
We have just spent a week here for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel is very well located and faces the sea.We had a superior room with a sea view which I would recommend room 912.It doesn't get the sun which keeps the room nice and cool.We had a fridge, air conditioning, safe, dressing gowns and slippers in the room.I felt from reading reviews before I booked this hotel you need to book a superior room to get all these extras free. The breakfast was included in our package and it was lovely so much choice every day to suit everyone's taste buds.We ate in the restaurant 3 evenings also as we found the local restaurants poor quality and the quality in the hotel v high.Lots of previous reviewers complained about the rules at the pool.i have to agree, one particular lifeguard really is out to make everyone's experience unpleasant with all his rules, tidying up constantly and making sure the kids did not have fun!!!It didn't bother me as I wasn't traveling with kids this time. The only complaint I have is that as part of our superior room we had late check out (subject to availability of course)and I asked about it when we arrived and throughout the week to be told check back.Eventually I found out yesterday we were not getting it.I explained it's a shame as today is our 25th Wedding Anniversary and we fly at 8pm but I might as well have been taking to the wall!!No special allowances were made. Also no courtesy room is supplied by the hotel or shower even though they have baggage room and you can use the pool all day but that's not much use if you can't have a shower. So hence I am sitting in the lobby of the hotel writing this review!!More
Perfect position on the seafront!
Just waiting for bus to pick us up for the return to the airport so thought I would kill some time writing my review. Free wifi throughout the hotel. Our second visit to Puerto De La Cruz, but our first staying in Catalonia Las Vegas. As per the title of my review, this hotel is in a perfect position, next to Lido, and plenty of shops and restaurants. Train for Loro Parque right outside. Rooms adequate, we were in a family room for 4, each bed was larger than a UK single bed and the room had plenty of storage. We were in room 312, which was on the third floor, with a lovely large balcony and sea view over the promenade and lido. A bit of noise from the bar next door but this went quiet at 12am. Food in the restaurant was lovely, plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner. Drinks prices very reasonable, bottle of wine for 7/8 euros. Pool area was fine, although if you had to sit in the grass there was not anywhere to put a sun umbrella, so had to move under the trees if you needed shade. Lifeguard likes to remove towels after 30 minutes if there is no one sat on the lounger, and this would be fine if he treated everyone the same, and gave a bit of leeway when the pool was not busy. Had a lovely stay, it's just a shame that we could not enjoy our last day fully, as we had to leave our room at 12 but not being pickedup until 7pm. We asked twice if we could pay for a late check out room, as mentioned on the board at reception. Both times we were told that the hotel is fully booked, and they have no rooms available, not even a courtesy room. Not helped that the toilet in reception is locked unless you have a room key to swipe, and ours had to be handed in when we checked out?! Even more annoying was that I checked on both booking.com and the hotels own website and could easily have booked a room for tonight, so the hotel is clearly not full as we were told. Disappointing end to an otherwise great holiday. More
