Great couple/family hotel
Me and my boyfriend, and his family, stayed at the Bitacora two years ago... and it was one of the best holidays ever! A brilliant hotel - fabulous staff, great selection of food, fun activities for adults and children, clean spacious rooms and great night entertainment (including a Michael Jackson tribute and Mr & Mrs night). We can't wait to return in June this year just the two of us!More
When we first arrived we were disappointed to be told that our booked sea/pool room was not available for another two days. Staff quickly offered a reduction in price or all inclusive for free. As we were half board anyway and don't hang around the pool during the day preferring the beach then all inclusive was of no benefit. I feel we should have been notified of this before we arrived. However we did move to the correct room after two days. Rooms are quite large and air con effective, spotlessly clean, charge for fridge??ð No kettle in room for a quick cuppað. However the food was superb with dozens of choices for every course. As a fish lover I was in fish heaven, plenty too for the meat eaters and vegetarian options were endless. Staff exceptional and extremely helpful and courteous at all times. Location is ideal with around a ten minute stroll to the beach. Some refurbishment going on i.e. new lift but minimal disruption. Extremely enjoyable stay here and we will definitely return.More

Just returned from a 7 nite stay, had a 8th floor room overlooking pool which was very spacious with a walk-in shower, ideal if like my missus who has mobility issues, had to pay 1 euro a day for fridge,no kettle in room, but take my own, food was good breakfast really good. No problems getting sunbeds, may be different in summer, nite time entertainment not too bad, but looked better for week after we left, some new lifts (2) being installed, had no issues with long queues, but will be better when finished, just looks to be cosmetic works to be done. Would return no problems,More
Great time had by all
We stayed for 11 nights at the start of March with our 2 daughters aged 2.5 years and 10 months and my parents. We rang the hotel to request 2 rooms together in a quiet location before travelling and that is exactly what we were given - pool facing on the first floor, perfect. There are many good things about this hotel : ⢠The rooms were modern and more spacious than similar priced hotels we have stayed at. The air con was very good and was needed as the temperature was in the 30s for several days. ⢠The childrenâs park and soft play area (soft play area available 10-12 and 3-5) were excellent and very quiet at this time of year with an older clientele at the hotel. The evening mini disco from 8.30pm was also good. ⢠The breakfast! Bacon especially was excellent and better than other places we have stayed. ⢠The room was kept immaculately clean. One thing to be aware of is that there is a notice in your room saying that bed linen will only be changed if you leave the notice on the bed before housekeeping visit that day to help the environment. ⢠Free room safe and robes (pool view rooms). ⢠The pool area and grounds. There were always enough sunbeds available. ⢠Staff were friendly. ⢠The hotel is in an excellent location in the resort. There is a supermarket 2 minutes away. ⢠Service in the bars and restaurants. The bar prices were very reasonable and the cocktails we tried were very good. ⢠Carpeted hotel corridors minimised noise from outside the room, and the rooms themselves seemed to be very well insulated as we could not hear our daughters playing loudly in my parentsâ room next door. The reasons we have given 4 star rather than 5 : ⢠The lifts were quite slow and demand for them was high. We usually like staying in a high room but we are glad we were only put on the first floor here. ⢠Men have to wear long trousers for the evening meal which seems to be the standard in Tenerife, but the rule is relaxed at the hotel from June onwards. Whilst we were there, there was a heatwave with locals saying it was as hot as July/August. If the rule is relaxed during the summer presumably due to the heat, I see no reason not to change it all year round as comfort levels and tolerance to heat varies from person to person. As is the norm, this rule only applied to men, which seems unfair as I could wear pretty much anything. ⢠The system of signing for your drinks and meals was extremely convoluted, especially compared to other hotels we have stayed at offering more than one board basis. ⢠There was no kettle in the room which we needed to make up baby bottles so we took our travel kettle. We also needed the fridge for the bottles so we paid the 10 euro deposit and 1 euro per day for this. ⢠Though there were plenty of sunbeds, the lifeguard was inconsistent in applying the rule that âno beds should be reserved before 10am.â On his arrival each morning at around 9:15am, the lifeguard would remove towels from any unoccupied beds, but he did not repeat this. As with any system, some people noted this and played it - once they saw him complete his only sweep they would then put their towels down and they remained unremoved. ⢠There was ongoing work in the lobby area, mainly with the electrics. Though this wasnât too much of an issue, there were always a lot of workmen coming and going from reception and work vans parked up at the entrance. All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely consider this hotel if we were to return to Tenerife in the future.More
Returning customers. Excellent service and friendly staff. The pool side rooms are very large and are kept spotless. The one thing I would like to have is tea making facilities in all rooms. The choice of food is very good for the English pallet.More
