Pensioners Paradise

Just spent a week in Spring Vulcano and returned 14th July. Great location for access to all resort facilities & bars.My husband & I are in our forties with a 16 yr old daughter. Lovely impressive hotel comfortable & very clean rooms. Food was fabulous you have a great section at the buffet breakfast & dinner & the waitress staff are very efficient & friendly cleaning away your plates promptly & serving drinks. Many reviews state lots of pensioners & we had read the brochure which states peaceful & tranquil. So being as we like older people we thought we wouldn't mind. Being as we took this holiday before the summer school holidays began we didn't see hardly any children or teenagers & the pools were very quiet. No lilos allowed in the pools even though the larger pool was virtually empty most of the time. So much so we longed to see some activities & got quite excited when they did water polo or the aerobics. The elder population are most definatly well catered for and I have never seen so many mobility scooters parked outside the hotel & indoors!! For younger children I would not recommend as I don't feel they would be entertained enough and evening entertainment is artists & an organist that is more appealing to pensioners hence they return regularly to this hotel. The hotel has a certain market that it is more appealing to but it still makes for a great holiday just be prepared what to expect.More

Very good

Just back from 2 great weeks at this hotel. Position of the hotel excellent near all the local bars and restaurants. Restaurant staff friendly a good selection of food available suitable for most taste - ok so some days you do have a strange selection of food on your plate but a good variety overall. Housekeeping very friendly always smiling and doing a good job. Reception very helpful and always ready to sort out any problems. Seemed to be all age groups with some children. My only complaint (although not a complaint as such) would be that more umbrellas are needed around the pool area - no shade during the afternoon. Overall a very good hoiday would recommend. Wifi free in public areas although not always a very good reception.More

Top quality enjoyable stay

Great hotel, great food, spotlessly clean, great location in a up and coming friendly modern resort. We have stayed as a family in their sister hotel over the road many times, (The Bitacora) but much prefer the slightly quieter and less rowdy clientele here. Even our 2 teenage kids are of the same thought. Hope to come back again soon. More

Fabulous hotel, wonderful time.

Got back this morning from ten days at the Vulcano with my 20 year old and 18 year old sons. We had a great time. Obviously, the nearer you get to the summer season the younger the clientele becomes. As most reviews point out before this the hotel caters for the young at heart but slightly older generation. The staff are the nicest and friendliest I have experienced over the world. The quality and quantity of the buffet breakfasts and dinners was excellent. Our room was large enough for the three of us, although a little dated, but that didn't matter as it was kept absolutely spotless. We were on the sixth floor which gives you a great view of the pool area and sea (premium room was booked). A lot of residents were niggled over the rule of not being able to bag your sun beds before breakfast with towels. The hotel clearly states not to put your towels on the sun beds unless you sit on them otherwise the towels and anything else would be cleared away, and of course true to their word they were and those of us that kept to that rule always found a suitable place to sit after breakfast. Some people moan in their reviews about the lines of beds under the lines of canopies. I have to say we did not find this a problem, to the contrary it meant we were in the shade and could pull out our beds in to the sun if we so wanted. I perhaps would not book this hotel if I was a young family with toddlers up to about 10, but anything over that age in the summer would be no problem. So go and enjoy....More

I would go back

If your looking for a relaxing holiday and you like to chill beside the pool without getting all the noise from younger kids/teens then this is the hotel to pick. Am not that old the avg age was about 65+ but I really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere this hotel had. The staff were friendly the food was plenty and enjoyable the entertainment was mixed some great some not. Location of hotel excellent. The standard rooms are good enough I wouldn't pay the extra just to look at a pool. I would definitely go back . If i can give one tip it is go out the hotel turn left and walk to the beach front about 10 min easy walk, go between 8pm and 9pm to see fantastic sunset I done this most nightsMore
