The Spring Hotel Vulcano has bagged itself a great spot on Tenerife’s south coast. For starters, the beach is less than five minutes' walk away. A great selection of the shops, bars and restaurants of Playa de las Americas are just a five minute walk from the doorstep. That said, it’s anything but noisy here - this modern hotel is tucked well away from the action.
The hotel itself is pretty impressive. It's spacious, smart and the friendly atmosphere is evident from the moment you check in. As for the bedrooms, they’re modern, light and airy – from the sink-into armchairs to the terracotta and cream colour scheme. It’s real home-from-home stuff.
In the lobby, they’ve brought the outdoors indoors. A massive atrium fills the marble-floored space with light. Plants, trees and fountains give a garden feel. And the wicker furniture wouldn’t look out of place in a conservatory. It’s like being in a big botanical garden.
But it’s the pool area that deserves special mention at this hotel. There are two rectangular swimming pools vying for your attention here. They’re sunk into a sizeable sun terrace and come complete with an island of palm trees and a dinky waterfall. Plus there’s a poolside bar where you can order a fruity cocktail to cool off.

We stayed at the hotel for a week in March and were given a room on the ground floor with a terrace with table chairs and brolly and two sunbeds. The hotel entrance was impressive with lots of plants, trees and secluded seating areas. The food was exceptional with plenty of choice especially desserts which we have not experienced in other hotels. The staff in general were friendly, efficient and helpful. Pool area and bar were spotlessly clean. The location of the hotel was convenient for beach, shops, bars and restaurants. Fabulous hotel, can't wait to go back.More

My husband and I stayed here for 10 nights, we returned home last night, lovely hotel and food was great with plenty of choice, the best bit was how quiet and peaceful it was, no screaming kids!! haha. it does however cater for the more senior age group, if your happy with listening to the organ and piano and like to waltz etc then its perfect. the entertainment was okay but as we are in our 40s and 50s we tended to go out in the evening. Plenty of bars and entertainment literally around the corner, great location, friendly staff. You don't need to carry money while staying in the hotel as all your drinks etc are put onto a card and you ;pay your bill at the end of your stay. The safe, fridge and if you want one a kettle are all available to hire at a charge, If you like to go for an evening meal for a change then I would highly recommend the Love India Restaurant which backs on the hotel. All in all a lovely hotel, would definitely go back.More

Lindy 124 "great hotel"
My husband and I stayed in the volcano for the 1st time for 11 days in March and had a lovely time. Entrance to the hotel was beautiful . Was checked in in no time at all and found the staff very helpful in every way. The pool area was spotless and great to see guests weren't allowed to put their towels down before 9am.Also staff at pool area were very pleasant and quick to take your order. The restraunt food was a delight always well presented and the chiefs came out now and again to make sure all was well stocked up. Could not fault it and the staff worked really hard and always had a smile even when it was really busy .we had a superior room facing the pool which ment we got the sun from about 2 till 5.30 .the room was well maintained by the maids well done .Really enjoyed our stay and will be back in nov this year .well done to the management and their team.More

A hotel for over 60's !
We stayed at the spring hotel Vulcano for 1 week during April. We booked through Travel Republic who had overbooked the hotel and 2 days before wanted us to stay for part of our holiday in one hotel and the other part here. After emailing the hotel direct they kindly sorted it out for us. Travel Republic told us it regularly happens. We arrived at the hotel in the lovely entrance and were greeted at reception with a quick check in. We had a pool view level 3 room which was pleasant and had lovely views. The hotel room is basic and you have to pay for use of the fridge/ safe and tea and coffee making facilities , which for the cost it would be worth them adding it on to the price. The hairdryer in the bathroom was useless so don't rely on it. Rooms were cleaned very well with friendly staff always saying hello. The pools is are lovely l, one is heated and the other not and it's refreshing to see them adhere to the rule of not reserving sun beds. The entertainment in the evening is tailored towards the old people dancing and not to tastes of younger people. The hotel definitely caters for the older generation which is fine but maybe it should advertise this more. During the day the staff put on a variety of activities again towards their target audience. The breakfast was lovely but food in the evening was repetitive and sometimes you could not get a table on arrival. With the quality of restaurants in the area would be worth considering bed and breakfast. The hotel is in a great location with shops and restaurants a short walk. Overall our stay was pleasant but felt totally out of place amongst the mobility scooters. A great hotel for the older generation not so good for the younger! More
