Pre Xmas Break

Our first visit to this hotel and we were very impressed. It is in a great location very flat area and well placed to walk to most places of interest. The reception area is lovely as was our room which was spacious on the 5th floor over looking the pool with a great outlook. We had a special occasion while we were there and the hotel sent us a bottle of cava and chocolates to the room which was lovely. The food was excellent throughout. We stayed in several nights and really enjoyed nearly all of the entertainment. The clientele were mainly British and elderly which we fitted in with nicely. There were some things we weren't so impressed with. Our balcony faced the Hard Rock Café and whilst some distance away the music from it could be heard all evening on the balcony even well past midnight. The room itself was ok with the door shut so the music did not affect us indoors but the air conditioning was noisy so we had to sleep most nights with the door open. The cleaning was not very good at times several days things were not replaced in the room and the standard was poor. The most disappointing side to the hotel is the pool area. We found it unattractive, regimented with mainly fixed rows of sun shades. Overall despite my criticisms it is a lovely hotel and the plusses far outway the minuses and we had a lovely holiday.More

5th Floor Cleaning Issues

Travelled to Tenerife with Thomson, both flights on time and no problems, also private taxi to the hotel was good.Booking in was efficient and we received a room on the 5th floor. We were pleased with our room initially as it was large, had a nice spacious balcony that had sea views.Beds were comfortable, had a large TV with English channels (BBC& ITV),also a fridge which costs a euro per day.Had problems with lack of cleaning our room after two days,( floor never getting swept, no dusting bath and sink not getting cleaned properly,we decided this was not acceptable and complained to receptionist who noted our gripes and a cleaner was sent up to re-clean.After a few days the cleaning did not Improve so we complained again(by the way this is the first time we have complained about cleaning in a hotel since we started going abroad 16 years ago) any way this time the supervisor was involved and she totally agreed with my wife that things were not right,so the room got a good clean this time and was cleaned to our satis faction the last two days of our holiday. Also had an issue with maid not changing our bed linen we were told by reception it gets changed every 3 days but after staying there 8 days it was changed once, yet again we had to complain and it was changed the next day.we felt this had put a bit of a dampner on our holiday. Now for the positives- the food was very good with a good choice, the heated pool was great and we had no problems getting a sun bed everday, can't comment on the entertainment at night as we went out round the corner to the strip of bars which had music in them which would suit most peoples taste(rock in the Bulls Head,The Soul suite, and a couple of Irish bars).Apart from the cleaning issues this is a good hotel and would come back.More

Cant fault it

My husband and I are young 52 and 60 year olds. Most of the patrons in this hotel are average age 74+ but don't let that put you off coz we met some lovely people there. Everything is spotless, maids come in every day, the room we had 341 was ok for the two of us. it was situated on 3 rd floor and from outside was nearest to the path that leads to the bars and beach. Supermarket across the path from hotel, with bars only a brief walk away and the beach less than 5 minutes. The food was varied and bountiful. Rooms had tv in room with BBC1, BBC News, a few English film channels and best of all ITV so we didn't miss 'Im a celebrity'. Just a couple of negatives, I found the bathroom a bit overcrowded with having a bidet in it so a bit of manoeuvring when getting out of the shower. Also the hairdryer not like the ones u use at home(oblong head on it like old fashioned phone) glad I took my own. We took a small kettle and hired the fridge for 1 euro a day. everywhere is super clean and flat with polished tiled pavements.Las Americas was fab will go again.More

Great hotel / 2nd visit

Excellent location, for sandy beaches, long level walks, shops, cafés,bars and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff, who cannot do enough to make your stay worthwhile. Good food. Lots of choices. Good entertainment nightly. We don't need to go elsewhere for food or drink, we are happy to enjoy it all at the Vulcano. Looking forward to our next visit, hopefully soon. The entrance is a delight to relax in, with the rain forest effect.More
