Nice hotel and very clean!!
A very nice, clean hotel. It was a 30 minute transfer from the hotel (we booked with on the beach). The staff are very polite and helpful. We had room 608 and it had a pool view, the room was very spacious and their was two bottles of water and toiletries which was a nice touch. Lots of wardrobe space, air conditioning and a fan in every room. My sister and her partner stayed in room 128 and that was also very nice. The rooms included a safety deposit box which was €37 including a €10 deposit which you get back on your last day. We went bed and breakfast and it was lovely! You have your full English, meats and cheeses, fresh bread, fruits, yoghurts, cereals, churros, donuts, freshly made omelettes and pancakes made by lovely staff. Breakfast is €6 Lunch is €9 Dinner €12 All you can eat buffet. The hotel has a pool and the gym is free!!! The pool has a shallow end which was about 1 metre and the deep end 3 metres. The gym has a exercise bike, treadmill, cross trainer, weights, pull up bench and more. They also have a television and water available to make your workout more enjoyable. There was entrainment through out the day and evening music that begins at 21:00 and is over at 24:00. The hotel is a nice distance away from the strip (10 minute walk) which is pretty standard, lots of bars with cheap alcohol and a lot of reps tryingvery hard to get you into a certain bar for little money. The other end of Playas Las Americas were we enjoyed was what we would call the family end. That was a 15 minute walk and had a lot of restaurants and a nice beach were it was €12 for 2 subbed and an umbrella. This end had the Hard Rock Cafe which has lovely food and cocktails. There are local shops and also pharmacy a few doors down from the hotel. A very nice hotel and I hope this helps your choice.More

A double room isn't big enough for three
We had a week's stay, half-board at the Oro Negro. We'd booked a double room for three with an extra bed through Skytours, however when we checked into the room it was way too small for three beds. We wouldn't normally complain but the third bed was pushed up against the wardrobe making the wardrobe and safe inaccessible. We had to pay extra to switch to a family room, which was much better but not the cleanest. The hotel seems to be going through a refurb and they hadn't reached our room on the 10th floor. It was quite dirty (walls, lampshades, etc) and the bathroom needed re-doing as it has black mold around the bath and the shower wasn't very powerful. Aside from the room however the restaurant was nice (it's true what some people say - Contada's omlette's are legendary) and the staff were lovely. All of the bar and restaurant staff went out of their way for guests and remembered you. The pool was nice and there were always sunbeds. The night entertainment wasn't up to much but it's near to lots of bars (the hill isn't too steep) and the Whisky Jar nearby is fab. All in all this was a nice hotel aside from the room.More
room was not kept really clean, room over looked pool so the entertainment could be loud at times ,asked to be moved and was told not possible, staff in the bar tried to short change me a few times ,could be rude when we stopped tipping, food was poor some evening so we ate out few times.More
