Just as good 2nd time
Decided to return to this hotel after a lovely new year break.it just ticks all our boxes,Friendly staff, very nice food and very clean. We asked for a sea view and we got just that. Well situated for beach and shops. The only down side was a poor WiFi signal in our room this time, everywhere else it was good, just one of those glitches! Going back again this New Year, can't really fault it !More
Lovely Hotel in a central location
We've stayed here twice now, once on a lower floor and once on the top floor (lovely views). A couple of minutes walk to the beaches, the clubbing area (although definitely not noisy), the restaurants and convenient for the main road for trips further afield. Clean, tidy hotel with friendly staff and a delicious breakfast buffet. We will be returning.More

We arrived late on Sunday to check in as this is not a all inclusive hotel we had quite a large sum of money with us so we asked for a safe. The first shock being the cost â¬18 a week plus â¬10 deposit, this amounted to â¬46 outlay on the first night of our 14 day holiday. We had planed a budget of â¬50 a day .in our last hotel we had a free safe.Anyway when we got to our room I was pleasantly surprised as we had a fridge in our room but it was not cold you need the room card to be in to obtain the electric to supply it.We went down to the restaurant and grabed some food, and had a drink in the bar a pint of lager cost â¬3.10 not that expensive. We found the food was very good and it was pipping hot in fact some of the ladles and the lids where to hot to handle. We found it was better going to breakfast about 9.30 am as then the sun worshippers where out around the pool. The restaurant has no out side seating so you are stuck inside .Another surprise we had a bottle of bubbly waiting in our room but no note left with it to tell us what it was or what for.The pool area is not very big but if you have come for some peace and quite you can't get a way from Noah doing his step class in the morning and the cheering of team members during other events throughout the day.The evening entertainment starts with a game of bingo, a line then a fullhouse followed by drinks for the days game winners. They have the main entertainment with some very good acts.the evening is then finished off with a bit of line dancing or karaoke.A few days before we where going to leave we did notice a sign up saying that you could book your room till three oclock on your last day for ⬠20 if available so we booked it there and then. You have to go and look on the board to see what time your departure flight is as the Thompson rep does not put a letter under your door to tell you, our flight time was changed so it is best to keep checking. All in all I would say this a very nice hotel and we had pleasant stay.More
Has 4 **** quality for 3*** star price. Excellent
Have stayed in many Hotels in Playa de las Americs & Los Cristianos but the Catalonia Oro Negro beats them all. Free WiFi throughout the hotel. Air conditioning. Multi channel tv. Fridge. Hairdryer. Heated pool. Very quite location. Friendly & helpful staff. Special thanks to Simona in Restaurant who makes sure everything runs smoothly, excellent choice of food. Activities by day, professional shows at night. Kiddies Club & pool and Mini Disco & Bingo prior to main shows. More
