The Spring Hotel Bitacora is a family favourite thanks to its A-star location and pool scene. Plus, it’s only minutes away from the shops, bars and restaurants of Playa de las Americas.
The Spring Hotel Bitacora’s main selling point is its location – the hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the beach and only a bit further from central Playa de las Americas.
Families have it made at this hotel. A new adventure playground opened its doors in 2013, and there are two pools and a buffet restaurant.

Came back a few days ago from the Bitacora went as a family 6 adults and 2 children 8 and 6. The Hotel is lovely all areas of the Hotel are clean and tidy, we had 3 rooms next to one another which is what I requested, lovely big rooms with comfortable beds and accommodated us 3 adults without feeling on top of one another. I hired a mobility scooter from reception as I have mobility problems and it arrived 30 minutes later that is what I call service. The children went to the kids club nearly everyday and thoroughly enjoyed themselves it was very well run. The food was lovely and plenty of choice could not fault it, the only problem we found was finding a table when the room was full. A couple of gripes, why have a wrist band to say AI if you have to show your door card when entering the dining room, it did cause queues and I didn't see the need for it, also you have to show your door card when wanting a drink at the pool bar why? The evening entertainment was good and enjoyed the acts another gripe you could only order drinks from the waiter going around the tables you were not allowed at the bar but the probable was not enough waiters taking orders when it was busy. My daughter waited nearly an hour to get a waiters attention to order her drinks. Have been to many AI hotels in Europe and this is the first time we have show our door key for everything although we all had wrist bands on don't see the point of having them. All in all a very good holiday and would definitely recommend this Hotel and would go back there again.More

Our fifth time in Tenerife and third at a Spring Hotel first at Bitacora. Location great. Close to shops, beach and excursion pick up point. Staff helpful and welcoming, arrived just before our room was ready, offered facility of Bar and luggage room, but didn't need as room was done. Had a superior room which was large, bathroom fittings looked a bit elderly, bath rusty round plug hole, however all was clean and functioning. Shower nice and hot. Dining room/ restaurant fine. Hand cleansing facilities available, shame more didn't use them. Food very good, and a great variety at every meal time. Even steaks cooked how we liked them, and as for the fruit kebabs and chocolate fountain!!!!!!mmmmmm Couple of moans, the usual saga of the beach towels / sun beds, and it wasn't even high season! To be fair we did see a member of staff collect up 10 beach towels, so they are trying! The other problem for us was noise, and had we been staying longer we'd probably have asked for a move. Our room was very close to the entertainment which went on til 12mn. We were both exhausted and were wanting to go to bed about 10.30 but noise too intrusive. One night I used ear plugs. Thereafter we stayed up til the entertainment finished. Spoke to other guests and apparently the higher floors didn't have a problem with noise. Was lovely having the pool view.More

First class hotel
Just returned from a very enjoyable twelve day break in this hotel. This is a first class hotel. The rooms are very spacious and I did pay that little extra for a pool view which was worth it. The food was first class and I am so fussy. It was great being able to go to the sister hotel, Volcano and the Aruna Grand for dinner one evening which was also first class. The situation of the Bitacora is excellent as we were able to walk along the sea front every morning and visit many of the good bars just mi Utes away (don't forget the Hole in the Wall , best Irish bar ever) One only complaint and this was my fault, if you don't want too many children around don't book on a mid term break as at the end of our stay a lot of families were there but sure I have plenty of other weeks to book for the future. Excellent hotelMore

Really good hotel
Just returned from our first visit to Las Americas. Hotel Bitacora was highly recommended to us and met all our expectations. Stayed all inclusive and the food was one of the best we've experienced. Different choice each mealtime. The staff were all helpful, cheerful and pleasant - nothing was too much trouble. Location excellent - only 3-4 minutes walk to main shopping areas and beach. The weather let us down being cloudy and overcast for most of the week but that was unusual. Normally lots of sunshine. Only disappointment was having to pay for room safe - only 2euros a day but normally free in other all inclusive hotels we have stayed in. Highly recommend to everyone and suggest you ask for a room on 5th floor upwards - great views over the town/sea. Will definitely return.More

very nice hotel
My wife and I, our Son, Daughter in law and Granddaughter spent 6 nights at the Bitacora should have been 7 but the hotel had over booked our rooms,so stayed 1 night in the Volcano, we had booked a half board package ,the hotel to compensate for the error upgraded us all to all inclusive which was great .now for the rest the hotel was very clean and towels change every day bed linen seemed to be every other day only one complaint with our room 214 was the bathroom it is in need of some tlc .the food was very good ,a good choice of meats every day even had boiled potatoes, very unusual .the staff are very pleasant and helpful so much so we are thinking of going back there next February for a week .only one other complaint, the pools are very cold, I think the heating system needs to be looked into .they have a great play area for kids you can only get in by using your room key so it feels very safe for little ones . over all a great hotel .weather wise we have been to Tenerife nine times and it was the first time we have had poor weather no rain but cloudy with a cool wind . .More
