First time at the spring bitacora hotel, super hotel, fantastic food, very clean, brilliant location, staff are all very friendly & helpful, we stayed in the room 820 pool view, well it's a view to die for, only downside was the air-con, as it was in the 80+ it was very hard to sleep at night, apart from that we will definitely be going back, thanks for a great family holiday ððððMore
stayed at bitacora for 2weeks early Oct. e.mailed in advance requesting lower ground floor because of mobility problems .could not have chosen a better room.grond floor, great walk in shower, very good, plenty of hot water.rooms clened every day, maids lovely and helpful.requested new hair dryer as the one we had was broken, sorted,no problem.food excellent, plenty of choice, waiting on staff excellent.nothing to much trouble for staff, phoned and arranged mobility scooters for us..which can be charged for free in foyer.entertanment was a bit of a let down, but the animation team were excellent and worked very hard and put on some excellent shows.thanks to Pinky,Carlos,Katy,Yaya,Alba,Benji, and Javi.It was nice to meet Monica,I think she was the assistnt manager. She went around every day checking everything.A charming lady.Only drawback was people putting towels out at early hours of morning ,6AM.this should be addressed.this hotel is in a very good location, near to everything, would definately recommend.
For people using mobilty scooters be aware of putting handbags in basket.a person on a pushbike tried to snanch mine ,which was covered with a towel.luckly i managed to push him off his bike and and he did not get it.lesson learned, but i was a bit shaken up afterwards.More

Family Holiday -Good Value
Hi, I travelled to the Bitacora in early October with my husband and 6 year old son, this is our second visit to this hotel, 5th to Tenerife. We stayed in a pool view room on the second floor, the rooms are big for a hotel and nicely decorated. We were provided with pool towels, minibar/fridge and a safe included in the room rate which I thought was excellent value as I have had to pay extra for this service in other hotels We were All Inclusive and I thought the food was very good, lots of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the staff are all very nice also. The entertainment team work very hard and you can get as involved as you wish, the magician was the best act at night my son thought he was amazing. The location is excellent close to shops, beach etc... We are not big drinkers but I can see ordering drinks at night would be hard when busy as there are not a lot of waiters when the hotel is full. The children's playground is also excellent this is a new addition to the hotel since our previous stay. The mini golf is also worth a visit we were there every night, reasonable price too.
The only negative is as mentioned by others the reserving of loungers, we travelled at peak time with it being the school October week and beds were reserved from 6ish (in the dark!) which is ridiculous I may point out this was mostly by older adults with no children and then they would be left empty for hours, getting up at 7.30 am to get a sunbed ( not once did I get any by the swimming pool )is not my idea of a holiday but I was forced to as my son really enjoys being by the pool rather than the beach. I would ask the management to enforce a strict policy on this issue and lift towels from beds not used for a certain length of time and/ or not allowing to reserve until after a certain time. The sun wasn't out until about 0930 at the earliest anyway.
We did have a good time and we will be back hopefully the whole sunbed issue will be different, thanks to all at the Bitacora for a lovely holiday.More
1st night spoilt the experience
Upon arrival at the airport we were told by Thomas Cook that the hotel had overbooked and that we would have to stay at the Best Tenerife over the road. This is disappointing and should not happen. Whilst the hotel try and rectify this by offering upgrades. This should never happen in the 1st place. I was celebrating my 50th birthday and this spoilt the holiday. You have a wasted day checking out of one hotel, then waiting for a room in the hotel you are supposed to be in anyway. I did email the Director of the hotel upon return, but they just seem to accept that these things happen. Well they shouldn't. I have stayed in over 20 hotels in Europe and this has never happened to me, but there were five other parties double booked the same night, they were all on the coach with us.
I have still based my score fairly on the experience we had on holiday. It would have been a 5 if not for the first night.
Overall I thought that the hotel offered good value for money. The room was nice and spacious and very clean indeed. Cleans towels every day and maid service. The food was good in the restaurant plenty of choice and variation. Was always served warm. The drinks were all premium brand and the service at the bars was good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault this aspect at all, so well done to all of them. Also the beds were extremely comfortable.
I agree about the sunbeds, remove any towels before 9am, some people are going out in the dark. The hotel needs to address and the over booking of rooms.
I would like to go back, however I don't have the confidence that they won't overbook the rooms.More

Animation make this hotel
Just arrived back from staying at the Bitacora hotel. Will give my honest opinion
: rooms are really nice they are large rooms with a flat screen TV,wood flooring which is more hygienic,Comfortable beds. My only complaint was a lose tap on the sink and a deposit for the key to the fridge which is empty! Pool area: Tiles around pool are really slippery a few children fell over. Also says heated pool it wasn't heated. Again a fight for sunbed so we had to do the same and put towels out at 6.30am. We had an ok spot so didn't feel to over crowded! Animation team:make this hotel they work so hard day/night.Carlos,JaJa,Catty and benji are my favourite. I did join in in water gym cocktail game etc think it makes your holiday. Location: is good close to everything including the beach although rocky. Food: was ok some days better than others. The children always found something I personally enjoyed the food. I did find bugs in coffee machine and someone had poohed in the pool which had to be closed for several hrs but was over night and afternoon so didn't cause much disruption. Pizza at the snack bar was delicious. We were AI would definitely do this again as it saves so much money. my only gripe is passing your room key every time you order a drink even though you have a band. Over all I did enjoy this holiday it wasn't the best and wasn't the worst. Would I go back to this hotel?? If the price was a bargain yes I wouldMore
