AT&T Disappointed

This has to be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in for a long time. The price for self catering in park Santiago 3 is overpriced for the old fashioned, non air conditioned rooms! Upon arrival at 4pm our rooms weren't ready so granted we were given a free complimentary drink, soft drink, coffee or tea or half lager, for our hour and half wait. All the family went, requiring 3 rooms and none of them were available. We then collected our room key, and headed to our room with 3 children aged 9, 6 and 3, including a pram, 2 large holdalls, and 1 large suitcase. Our rooms were up 2 flights of stairs with no lifts. We managed to get to the room to find our so called one bedroom apartment was just a studio, and that was the same for the other 2 rooms, so back down to reception, and were given 3 new 1 bedroom apartments. This one was 5 flights of stairs with no lift access. As it was a high room the roof made the room like a sauna, with no air conditioning but only ceiling fans, which were as much use as a chocolate teapot. All the rooms had ants, no microwave, a kettle that's as old as my nana, if not older, and a decor that even my nana wouldn't even appreciate. We finally got moved again a week into the holiday, with only half a flights of stairs that was manageable with a pram, but because we were near reception you couldn't keep the doors open to cool the rooms down, as it was too noisy. Although the fans were a bit more powerful than the last room they still weren't great. We never had a warm shower, oh and not forgetting the first room the shower didn't work and only trickled ice cold water until 2 days later when they finally decided to fix it! The price of drinks is extortionate until happy hour at 5pm. The pool is saltwater, not enjoyable for the kids. We seen the pool cleaned once in our 11 night stay, the sunbeds stink, the kids club is for Dutch kids only with no entertainment other than water slides to keep your little ones entertained. If you want to have fun and keep the kids entertained with minimal effort do not go to this hotel! Also if you have a pram stipulate you require lift access!! More

Sarahwall81,

Not family friendly - or even couple friendly!

Stayed at Parque Santiago 1 and its ok for location but that's as far as it goes. Lay by the pool mingling with the aged retired wealthy leather handbag British who resent holiday makers but use you to rent their apartments (most have several) but are happy for you to be paying their mortgages! Children aren't allowed beach balls or lilos or to do anything other than swim. No music, no atmosphere and sunbeds, matresses, umbrellas charged for daily. Next time I will go to a complex where FUN is allowed!!More

Lynne M,

Summer holiday

Have just returned from 2 weeks in apartment on Parque Santiago 1. Have to say the surroundings and landscaping are attractive - but everything else not quite the same Staff at the poolside bar/ restaurant very stand offish, unfriendly ( unless your a resident ) - children not allowed beach ball or anything in pool - other site staff same as above , apartment was clean but very very basic, lighting that didn't work, iron that was less than useless, ironing board that must have come from a children's primary school judging by the size of it ( and collapsed all the time ) NO AIR CON - ( in 30c plus temps ) towels changed but the clean ones rock hard and obviously washed but still marked - lastly , want a sun bed and mattress / parasol ? Then it will cost you around 5-6 euros per person per day to use them , so for a family a lot of money for the privilege over 2 weeks . More

No fun at parque Santiago ii

Just returned from a two week stay at ps2 have to say the lack of atmosphere and strict rules at the pool ruined the hoilday for us , no inflatables, no balls , no jumping , no tee shirts allowed in the pool - no entertainment at the pool , the sun beds cost 10euro a day for 2 plus umbrella, they are just thrown at you by the gastapo style pool attendant , would never return to the complex as it is privately owned and the residents determine the rules , it's as if the holiday makers are causing them too much of a disturbance , however to end on a positive if you plan to sit in your apartment for the two weeks they were lovely. NOT FOR FAMILIESMore

Great family holiday

We stayed in Parque Santiago 2 in july and we had room 153 on the ground floor overlooking the pool. The apartment was on 2 floors with spacious living area kitchenette and downstairs toilet and a spacious terrace overlooking the pool with chairs and table. Upstairs there the bathroom and 2 bedrooms with another terrace in the mast bedroom this with 4 loungers. The apartment was privately rented and it had every amenity which was helpful. We have previously stayed in Parque Santiago 1 & 2 before but this particular apartment i would recommend. We was there with friends as well on a family holiday and they stayed in Parque Santiago 3, so some days we used to sit around there pool, the pros for there pool was you didn't have to pay for the loungers but the drinks are well overpriced, however you had to pay for the loungers and parasol in Parque Santiago 2, the loungers were 2.50 euro and 1.50 for parasol but there food and drink were miles cheaper and the food at the pool bar was really tasty. Overall we would choose Parque Santiago 2 pool area as it is much quieter and you don't have to fight for sun loungers and not packed in like sardines as was the case on PS3. The location of PS2 is excellent with plenty of shops, restaurants and other amenities close buy, we would not hesitate to stay here again and will be doing in the near future. thanks for a great holiday.More
