Colon II Apartments

As well as a prime location, these apartments benefit from a great little café and an à la carte restaurant.

These apartments have an enviable postcode. They’re right in the heart of Playa de las Americas, so you’ve got shops, bars and restaurants at every turn. And a black-sand beach is less than a 5-minute walk away.

The curvy pool is big enough for lengths and has a children’s section attached. Food-wise, you’ve got 3 options – a pool bar, a café and a popular Italian.

Another amazing visit!

Our second visit to Colon II and it didn't disappoint. Arrived fairly late but check in was again very quick and within 15 minutes we were in our room. (401). An amazing view of Playa De Las Americas from our balcony. Room was cleaned and towels changed regularly. The staff were amazing, friendly, efficient and always with a smile. Food from the pool bar was always good. Location of Colon II is brilliant, so handy for all the bars and restaurants. To the staff of both the pool bar and the front bar I have to extend special thanks, so nice to us during our visit and also to our kids always having fun with them. A couple of free drinks on our last night was a lovely thing to do. My advice to anyone looking for a place to stay in Las Americas would be stay here. You'll not be disappointed.More

Colon II Apartments

Stayed for 1 week as a couple with my partner (she recommended the place as had been before with her girl friends) and was pleasantly surprised. Large apartment comfy chairs, one bedroom, separate kitchen, bathroom with bath and overhanging shower and good size balcony. Two large fans which were sufficient to keep place cool, fridge, clean cutlery and crockery, 2 hob cooking rings, and microwave with grill function, T.V which picks up a dozen or so English channels if you pay for a viewing card (10 euros) Location very good, Beach 200 yards down the road, loads of eateries, bars, supermercados, entertainment all within walking distance though we did get a taxi back from a late night a few miles away and very reasonable. Also 24 hour shop across road for water, bread milk etc. Electronic safe in each room, Maid in most days, and all staff we dealt with very friendly. If I were to be super critical WIFI is not available in your room but down at reception, The shower can run hot/cold depending if someone else in the buildings put on a tap! and the age old problem of people running down at 0900 with towels to reserve the sun beds. I watched from my balcony as 3 members of a group took 16 beds to themselves, not to mention umbrellas, tables and ashtrays. All they never done was raise a flag to declare the land theirs! comical to watch them scuttling around but sad people. Nevertheless would return and will do one day.More

Clean, excellent location, quiet, nice pool area, strict pool rules,

I travelled here with 2 small children (4,6) their grandparents and my partner This is a quiet property, set back from the road in attractive grounds which are well maintained. The apartments are very well kept and spotlessly clean. We had a one bedroomed apartment, which is cooled by two ceiling fans. The reception staff, cleaners and on site staff are very friendly. There is a small slide for children. The pool area is very clean, and I was concerned that my children would find the saltwater pool yucky but it did not seem bad. the rooms are cleaned almost every day. There is a relaxing feel to the apartments with no music or activities. One of the two lifeguards I saw can be over zealous. He asked for my children not to jump in often (they were in the shallow end under supervision with no one else in that end), and from chatting to previous guests they had similar issues around their children being told not to play ball, jump in etc. whilst I appreciate the need for a relaxing pool environment for others un disturbed by little ones being overly noisy or thoughtless towards others, this was not the case. This is not the most family friendly apartment if you want a lively holiday and is more suited I think to couples, but to be fair their was a mix of young and old who all seemed to be getting along fine. No lilos or anything fun and inflatable allowed. I did have some issues with my cooker, as the hob did not heat water sufficiently after an hour it still wasn't boiling, yet when I went to my mothers apartment next door it boiled straight away. The bathroom shower has good pressure but it intermittently can go between hot and cold - which can make showering kids frustrating. I ordered a spaghetti bolognese (7euro) and pizza (5) from the snack bar, and they were fine. We did not eat at mama Rosas but took tripadvisor advice and went to la Rosas over the road for the 9euro 50 set menu which was nice (kids menu 4 euros 90) The beds are a little hard, however the camp bed provided for the children was soft. We did not have trouble sleeping as so worn out from the day. I do think the apartments would benefit from air conditioning, the fans work ok but in the warmer summer months the rooms can get warm. My partner reported hearing some noise in the early hours from some of the younger guest, but nothing major and I heard nothing. During the high season there can be a dash for sunbeds in the morning. People generally stroll down at 9am and leave their towels on the sunbeds, and there were days I didn't get one until late afternoon. when chatting to the lifeguard he did tell me if I still wanted one after thirty minutes he would remove some towels from people who were not there, and I did see some hotel staff removing some that were placed on a sunbed at 8. The TV costs 10 euros, and aired bbc 1, 2, ITV,2, cbeebies and More 4, occasionally channel 5 - it did not receive channel 4, 5 or film 4 (as stated). I had a lovely holiday here and I loved how relaxing it was even with small children, but I was always conscious of their behaviour around the pool as opposed to me letting them enjoy themselves a little more freely.More

colon 2 apartments

We arrived on the 7/7/15 .On checking in it was found Thompson had not added our names on the list of new arrivals . In minutes this was sorted by the highly efficient Reception staff and allocated room 301 to us. After reading some of the comments on here we did not expect too much! However we were pleasantly surprised our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and with a well equipped kitchen. We found staff to be very helpful and courteous. Our view from the room was on the front of the building overlooking the street and we could see the sea. Again after reading previous comments about this room we were fearful of being disturbed by noise from the street this was not the case and some nights slept with the patio doors open and was not disturbed. The ceiling fan kept us cool and was not noisy, bedding was changed halfway into our week and the towels were changed almost daily . One day we wanted to spend the afternoon by the pool we found all the sunbeds taken and although a large number had towels on them no one turned up to use them, we spoke to the pool attendant who went and got two sunbeds for us to use. We are well travelled and could not fault this place so please take no notice of negative comments that are on this page.More
