Colon II Apartments

As well as a prime location, these apartments benefit from a great little café and an à la carte restaurant.

These apartments have an enviable postcode. They’re right in the heart of Playa de las Americas, so you’ve got shops, bars and restaurants at every turn. And a black-sand beach is less than a 5-minute walk away.

The curvy pool is big enough for lengths and has a children’s section attached. Food-wise, you’ve got 3 options – a pool bar, a café and a popular Italian.

Very good budget accommodation

Just returned from a cheap Thompsons "Late deal".Flight, transfer and accommodation were all A1,what we have come to expect from Thomsons.Studio was cramped but adequate, beds ok,kitchen not very well equipped.Cleaners were very good,5 times a week with towel and linen changes mid-week.Interior of accommodation consists of small gardens, well maintained and very attractive.Safe and TV had to be paid for,I wouldn`t bother with TV,very few decent channels.Very good cafe in foyer, reception very, very helpful. All in all much better than the average Las Americas S/C accommodation.More

Lovely relaxing stay

Stayed at Colon II apartments for the first time from 1st to 8th December 2014 and would definitely consider staying here again. We had requested an apartment on the 3rd or 4th floor by email prior to our visit but were told on arrival that this was not received. We were disappointed at first when we were given room 102 (ground floor apartment, over the on-site pub which was closed). However, the apartment itself was immaculately clean and well kept. Kitchen equipment was very sparse though, with knives not sharpened, bottle opener not working etc etc. The beds were not very comfortable but overall the apartment was very clean and tidy. The cleaning staff on this site seem to work very hard and take a lot of pride in the environment. We sat by the pool most mornings which was very pleasant and peaceful as there was no music or children. We had dinner one night at Mamma Rossa restauraunt on site and it was beautiful food and very attentive service from the waiting staff. I could particularly recommend the Lobster ravioli which was delicious. The only down side of the week's stay was unfortunately we went to the 'meet and greet' by Thomsons and signed up for the Sound of the Musicals, Showtime dinner and show which WAS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL AND A COMPLETE RIP OFF (102 euros for 2). The food was inedible, lukewarm and tasteless and the wine was truly horrible. The show itself is very amateurish and is held in what can only be described as a bit of a barn! We left at the intermission by taxi and came back to the hotel to dine out. We have contacted Thomsons and basically they are not interested in dealing with genuine complaints. Whatever you do, don't waste your money on this show!! This is the last time we will ever go to any organised nights out by Thomsons.More

Good apartments

Been coming here for a few years now & have always used these apartments. They are in a central location, ideal for The Patch & about 10 minutes walk from either the Safaris centre or Veronicas (if you like that sort of thing!). Now about the apartments. We found the beds to be fine, yes the kitchen area is basic but as we ate out all the time it wasn't a problem. They weren't what I would call shabby. I didn't find the place particularly noisy in the morning & I'm a late riser! Would we go back? Of course .More

Just the job

2nd -9th December 2014 Award winning Thompsons Hotel I noted 2014 Location-right on the main strip which we found ideal as 100m from beaches,30m from 2 English bars small shop and pharmacy and docs!!. Yes some noise from the street at night but it didn't disturb us you would get this anywhere you went, we felt it was very acceptable. For people with mobility issues there are ramps, I did not investigate motor scooter access but there are a lot around and all the people we spoke to (they had rented them) said their hotels provided parking/charging for them so I assume this would be the same here too? May be contact the hotel directly to confirm? Street outside was very well designed and clean. Tenerife is very well designed and maintained I was very pleasantly surprised. Colon 11 has some tables in the street open to the public and residents they always had people there -the food/drinks were a fair price . This place is immaculate as others have said, we had the sheets changed in the week and 5 days of cleaning, i tried to find justification in other reviews for non cleanliness but could not, it was excellent. I agree with others the beds were hard! Pool was unheated and cool to say the only winge, Went to the sea often it was very warm-better than I thought. Others have moaned about having to pay for a safe and TV this seems to be becoming industry standard unless you pay the premium prices, we didn't bother, you can't get into the site without going through reception-24hr and they clock everyone! Never felt there was any security issues. Felt very sorry for the obligatory life guard who does the most boring job you could imagine-state law says to have one apparently. Staff were excellent we had absolutely NO problems at all, very friendly, and helped us out. Cash point is right next to the hotel-a mere 2 feet away from the front door!! Wi fi was in the reception area only and free-2 pay as you comps there too, everyone had i pads I saw. I would like the option of this in my room please. All ages were there, i had to laugh at some very senior couples -late 60's + polling in at 4am the worse for wear and wondered where they had been? We had such a great time we have booked-MAY 2015More

Had to pay for use of tv (not mentioned on Thomson website) and the safe. Deposit was also taken. The receptionist was not very willing to release the deposit for the safe on check out on 9 December 2014. When I insisted she made out she made a mistake, without an apology. Small swimming pool which looks much bigger than it is on the photos by use of lens. Wifi only available in the reception area. Uncomfortable beds, Room not cleaned everyday. Very parsimonious with cutlery - could have done with a couple of wine glasses. On the plus side a reasonable location.More
