For an independent escape in a centre-of-it-all setting, this place is just the ticket.
This family-run hotel is plum in the middle of Playa De Las Americas, so everything’s just a walk away. You’ll find bars and shops in pretty much every direction. In fact, there's a cafe attached to the front of the hotel, which serves tasty cakes and snacks. Plus, you’ll reach a black sandy beach in less than five minutes. And, despite the fact the apartments are in the heart of the action, they’re set back from the road - so it’s surprisingly quiet here.

You can’t miss the main entrance from the street – it’s all sleek black and silver. And the reception area follows suit, with a monochrome palette brightened up by splashes of colour and funky light fittings. The apartments themselves are roomy and bright, with terracotta-tiled floors, cream walls and light-wood furniture. The kitchenette has everything you need for self-catering, plus there’s a balcony or terrace where you can enjoy your meals.

Outside, there’s a curvy saltwater pool with shallow and deep ends – so you can paddle or plunge in. The bar out here sells breakfasts, lunches and snacks, plus there are sandwiches and cakes over in the café. Take a look at the ice-cream selection – there are so many flavours you could be here a while.

When you fancy eating out, this place has an Italian restaurant – Mamma Rosa. It’s really popular with guests, so book a table early. And, when you want to head out a little further, you’re in the right place. There’s a restaurant for every type of cuisine practically on the doorstep, and the bars and clubs of Veronicas are just around the corner.

Your guide to Playa De Las Americas, Tenerife

"Near the southwestern tip of Tenerife is one of the island’s main coastal attractions, the resort of Playa de las Americas. Full of modern restaurants, bars and hotels, it is lively and fun, its large white sandy beach attracting people from all over the island."

Playa de las Americas, 17.5km south of Reina Sofia airport, is a modern playground with an international atmosphere - perfect for families as well as young couples and groups of friends. The beaches are popular, watersports are brilliant and there’s a waterpark - and the buses to it are free! There is an 18 hole golf course with views towards the resort centre and the sea, an ideal location made even more attractive for a round of golf as it is protected from the wind by a nearby mountain range. Next door is the more sophisticated resort of Los Cristianos, while just around the coastline is the beautiful beach of El Médano, famed for its windsurfing.
