Great stay (shame about the wifi)
The room is spacious and clean and the balcony overlooks the pool. The pool itself is lovely although beware, people line up at 9am to rush to their favourite sunbeds and put their towels on. They then disappear for 4 hours. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is great for all parts of Las Americas. Our one gripe is the wifi. It's only available in reception. We use wifi a lot on holiday and like many people want it round the pool and on the balcony of our room. We would happily have paid extra for this. Come on Colon 2 get it sorted please!More
No major complaints
Have just returned and couldn't really fault these apartments, they are spotlessly clean as is the pool area. We didn't use the pool bar so can't really comment though saw other people using it and it appeared to be busy. We found the ceiling fan adequate but if you were there July / august, then may struggle with the heat in your room, also a full length mirror would be beneficial. Before we went, we e-mailed asking for a pool facing sunny room, which we were given and it was lovely. All the staff were friendly and helpful, wifi wasn't the greatest, better connecting at nearby pubs, get a better reception, overall would go back if visiting Tenerife again.More
A Good Place to Stay
We stayed at the Colon 2 for two weeks in May 2017. Just note that arriving by bus transfer as we did, you are dropped a few hundred metres from the door as no set down area in front of the place. Nobody greets you at the bus stop so it can be confusing for a minute or two on where to go. The apartment itself was basic but had all the necessary bits and pieces. The key to this place is the cleanliness. The Apartment was serviced pratically everyday and towels were changed everyday. We didn't stay by the pool any day so can't comment on poolside bar/restaurant, but from a distance they looked good and offered good value. The location of the Colin 2 could not be better, minutes walk from the night life of the Veronica strip to the sea facing restaurants and bars. Walk a little longer and you end on a long shopping street in what we called the Parque Santiago section of the resort (just head for Parque Santiago 3 and you'll be in the heart of it. Reception staff consisted of two females and a male during our stay. The two ladies were professional but distant, the male was a lot more approachable. I'd recommend this complex for families, the way the whole place is kept clean and the rooms are serviced is a credit to the them. Check out is 12 noon, but we were on a late flight. The Rep notice board advises that you can retain your room for a €40 charge, but unfortunatly they could not facillitate that for us. However they do provide 2 complimentary freshen up rooms with shower and toilet (and towels!!!) so it worked out fine. Overall, very happy with our stay.More

More pros than cons!
We visited as a group of 4 girls sharing a 2 bed apartment. Pros: Food and drinks were very good. The staff in the cafe and pool bar we're lovely and very friendly. The pool area is nice and comfortable. Generally the outside areas and facilities are very good and clean. The cleaners came in everyday which was great. Cons: the beds are like sleeping on a concrete slab terribly uncomfortable. One of the bedrooms was cramped and very stuffy and dark with little storage. The 1st bedroom was lovely and airy such a shame they were so different. The balcony was very small for a 2 bed apartment. The bathroom was ok but could do with some storage and the water went from hot to cold all the time. There is essentially no Wi-Fi. The only area that had it was the cafe out the front but only if you were lucky! Overall we did enjoy our stay but I wouldn't return because I didn't sleep for a week because of the beds and the heat in the room. If the Wi-Fi and beds were sorted this place would be a lot better. It would be nice to have aircon in the rooms too or at least fans that work properly.More
