Colon II Apartments

As well as a prime location, these apartments benefit from a great little café and an à la carte restaurant.

These apartments have an enviable postcode. They’re right in the heart of Playa de las Americas, so you’ve got shops, bars and restaurants at every turn. And a black-sand beach is less than a 5-minute walk away.

The curvy pool is big enough for lengths and has a children’s section attached. Food-wise, you’ve got 3 options – a pool bar, a café and a popular Italian.

excellent accommodation

Just back from these excellent apartments! Stayed there for a fortnight! Only problem was because I'm in a wheelchair the bathroom door wasn't wide enough but I didn't have a disabled room so expected that anyway! We will definitely return here as the staff were great, there was always a Sun bed to be had no matter when you went out! A really good place to be! Was also close to lots of lovely places to eat! Would definitely recommend Michelangelo, Martinis, Pompeii and Bianco! Also the Giddy Goose where you can get potato scones for breakfast! Another great restaurant is La Tasca up past the cinema! It's a good 20min walk but we'll worth it!More

Small and friendly

Just spent a week at these apartments after recommendation from friends. We had a 1 bedroom apartment which for 2 of us was quite spacious. There was no air con only 2 ceiling fans which was ok for November but not sure if they would be adequate high summer as our room had the sun all day! Rooms cleaned and linen/towels changed almost daily. The whole place is spotless and the staff friendly and helpful. Did experience a noisy day by the pool due to repair work being carried out to tiled area near the pool bar. Maintenance and cleanliness do seem to be high a high priority at Colon 11 and is evident throughout the property. Location is good with bars restaurants close-by and good shopping a 10 minute walk. Mamma Rosas onsite restaurant was excellent and the food served at the pool bar also very good! We will return to these apartments if ever back to Las Americas, but I wouldn't recommend for families as there really isn't a lot for young children. Wifi only available at reception area and think management should consider extending to at least the pool area if not to the rooms. I would also recommend that management put a stop to the constant flow of street traders who regularly enter and disturb residents while sitting at pavement cafe/bar at the front of the apartments. Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Colon11- thanks go to all the staff who helped make it so enjoyable and relaxing!More

Lovely stay but some niggles...

Just returned From 11 nts at the colon II. My husband and I took our 6 year old daughter who was probably the youngest and noisiest resident! On arrival at 3.00pm we were told our room wasn't ready! Not a great start with a young child who was hot and just wanted to go swimming. I am also 5 months pregnant so wanted to get comfortable. After a quick phone all by reception they said room 316 was ready and apparently this was one of the preferred rooms. First impressions were good, room very spacious everything spotless and we had 2 balconies. Bit odd you have to pay for tv rental but we did. Our daughter loved the pool and as it is quite a small hotel it was lovely that she was in sight at all times. The toilets by the pool were immaculate and the staff work very hard to keep the apts spotlessly clean. Service by the pool was very good but a bit pricey for a few soft drinks. Reception always polite and on hand if you required anything. The maintenance men were removing tiles by the pool so the noise was annoying! The down sides to the holiday: No air conditioning, the cupboard under the sink really smelt of cigarettes, the water in the shower went hot and cold the whole time we were there, the pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Also as the holiday went on the noise on the road outside seemed to become louder and louder! Mainly from prostitutes bothering any male going past them. I would recommend a room on the other side of the hotel to get some peace. Not entirely sure if we would return, we did have a lovely break but would require all the negatives to be eradicated before we re booked!More

Just back from a week with a friend and felt I had to write a review to say how disappointed we both were with our stay in these apartments. We were in a studio, number 223 on the right hand side as you walk out of reception. Don't get me wrong; the apartments was ok, basic and clean but it was really all the noise around the pool area that made me rate these apartments as average. We had a Sunday afternoon of the loudest washing machine ever and other days of drilling and banging. Complaints by us and other residents seemed to be ignored. Most days we spent out as we just couldn't relax by the pool. Most of the staff were helpful and I think her name is Udina? who worked in the bar was really lovely. Wifi was only available in the reception area and a lot of the time unreliable. Overall we had a great holiday but that wasn't down to staying here. If I ever return to Tenerife I would stay elsewhere.More

Absolutely brilliant!

We've been to these apts 4 times and hope to go this year again. They're clean, comfortable, spacious and disabled friendly which is important for me as I suffer from MS. Everything you could want is close at hand - big choice of restaurants, supermarkets, pubs with nightly entertainment and the Veronicas Centre for the younger lively crowd. Even though it's close at hand there is never any noise carrying to the Colon II. I hire a disability scooter for the fortnight and it means I can get around the resort with no problem. Can't wait to get back and see the lovely friendly staff and laze by the pool in glorious sunshine.More
