High points at the Be Live Experience Playa la Arena include a garden setting, a first-rate pool scene, and close proximity to a volcanic beach.
Leafy, well-maintained gardens dominate the grounds of this hotel. It only takes a few minutes to walk down a path towards a black-sand beach. The centre of Playa de la Arena is a 15-minute walk away.
The décor here is really impressive. The huge, high-ceilinged lobby is draped in hanging vines and has a sweeping main staircase. Classic rooms, meanwhile, are styled in tones of terracotta and oak.

After reading a few reviews, I was expecting a bad place to stay, but it wasn't so, couldn't fault anything with the hotel at all, staff friendly, great choice in food, and hot, even had an English night, roast beef and it was lovely, if anything the pool wasn't big enough for the size of the hotel, but as the beech isn't far away, it was no problem for us . Would recommend this place and it's adults only which was fab .More

Wonderful 4 night break with friends
On reading other reviews staff seem to come in for some criticism so I wanted to set the record straight. We found reception, bar staff, waiting staff and cleaners to be immensely friendly .... maybe it's the manner in which we are with them?! Same can be said of taxi drivers, people we met in local bars and in Los Gigantes - not one difficult person. It's a massive hotel but we didn't have to queue for anything which we found astounding. Afraid you get the idiot holidaymakers who put towels over lots of sunbeds and then hardly use them which is pretty annoying but there are always plenty of sunbeds so it wasn't a major issue. As others have said, the rooms are lovely, everything is spotless, the food was wonderful although we ate out too just to add to the experience. There are small 'sales' displays each day, clothes and jewellery etc which were really lovely and not expensive, worth looking out for. Also we really enjoyed the entertainment on the piano bar, class acts ... particularly the saxophonist. The one thing to enhance is the wifi which is just dreadful, we didn't go on holiday to be glued to our phones anyway but it is a minor irritation. We enjoyed it so much we're looking to visit again next year.More

lovely hotel, just needs a few tweaks.
Positive: Nice hotel, nice sized rooms - our domestic kept the rooms so clean. Even found a pillow case to fit my weird shaped pillow i brought from home. We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. There is a shop with magazines and papers and other bits and bobs - not too expensive. The food in the restaurant is good. We did find something to eat every lunch and dinner time. Breakfast is the best the omelettes are fabulous, Fernando and Ramon are your guys for that. We always found some sun-loungers, However if you want to be right by the pool - you will need to get the towel on the lounger early. We were happy to be further away, so didn't worry. The are 3 pools nice, clean and not too cold. They have pool side entertainment and games. Not our thing but others enjoyed it and i did enjoy the song they play every day around 12:30. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the beach. Its black sand - which i thought might be weird, but it was fine. Good sized beach, there is a lifeguard and you must swim within the amber flags. There are a few shops around which sell the normal bits and bobs. We Hired a car - worth it. Visited many different places. There are some beautiful parts of Tenerife (however playa la america's is not one of them!) We booked a sea view room, which meant we were on the far side of the hotel, good for us and we had the evening sun on our balcony. Negative: The hotel entertainment staff are mainly French and really only want to deal with the French - they are not interested in any one else. The elderly french like to push in when queuing for drinks, take your chair the moment to stand up and don't like it when you pull them up on it. There is a sports bar at the hotel, which opened twice in the two weeks we were there, even when sport was on, especially the France - England match! Sometimes the food would be a bit samey - this is only a small grip. One of our room neighbors liked to get drunk and abuse his wife. Complained and called reception, as we felt security needed to go in. No-one did. So had to say something our selves. Sound can travel, can hear people running and shouting in the halls and the entertainment in the piano bar. The beds were hard, took me a while to get used too and they move when you turn over and if you want a double bed - you get two singles pushed together and made as two singles - sheets tucked in tight, no getting close!!!! The evening entertainment would change. One night we thought we would be watching dancing, as that was what it said the day before and we wanted to see that. Then was changed to magic show - no thanks. Never really knew what was going to be on, couldn't rely on their information board. Cocktails watered down. Over all - This hotel is worth going to. Clean, spacious and good location. Would recommend and we would go back in a heartbeat. It just needs a few tweaks.More
Amazing resort and hotel, very friendly and helpful staff and plenty to do!
We arrived at the hotel on the 8th of June 2017. Two adults. Check in was quick and easy and the receptionist was lovely and gave us all the information needed. Safe is 3 euros a day which I thought should have been free but not sure if it is normal to have to pay so maybe its just me! Our hotel room was very very clean and spacious and they are very nicely updated. Cleaners come every day to make your bed and clean the room and always do an excellent job. Every day we saw someone cleaning the floor in the main lobby and reception and polishing it; the staff were even getting in the little water feature inside to clean all the debris out of that every day! Cleanliness of this hotel is a definite 10/10, no problems with our room or anything the whole stay. There are plenty of activities in the day and a lot of variety of evening shows which are run by the animation team who are excellent! They seemed to be great with the kids and we made great friends with them. We joined in with archery and rifle shooting and it was excellent; a good laugh. The pools are a very good size; it does say when you arrive not to reserve sunbeds with your towels but we did every morning as did many others and there was no problem so go do it! The food is the only reason why I gave my stay a 4 not a 5. There is not much range, although what we did eat was very good quality I think they should have more range than 5 or 6 different dishes a night and the same thing every night for the kids; literally. Although, they do a different theme every night which was good to change it up a bit and they always cooked you fresh pasta whilst you wait and you can chose the sauce and watch them cook it, with also a fresh joint of meat or usually fish which you can watch them cook also. If you are going all inclusive the snack pool bar is by far the best food. We wished it was that food all the time! The drinks were very nice and a good variety at the pool snack bar available; although they make them very strong in the evening! The staff were amazing; we didn't even need to ask for our drinks as one waiter 'Laura' came straight to our table most every night after remember what drinks we had at dinner! Couldn't have asked for any better! Overall this is the best hotel I have stayed at, the staff are excellent especially the animation team, the activities are very fun and you will never get bored! There is a small village within 3 minutes walk as well as the beach, lovely location and couldn't have asked for any better!More
Lack of service
We are currently still on holiday at this hotel with son & daughter in law plus two children ages 6 months & 3 years. At least 50% of the bar staff are rude and unhappy. The cocktails have little or no alcohol in. If you want decent coffe you have to pay 1 euro for it, but staff not happy making it. The food although there is always something to eat it lacks imagination, also 3 year old sick of eating burger & hotdogs, the chicken and fish nuggets are vile !! No kids club for under 4's only mini disco every night with same songs. Just booked a spa at sister hotel at top of road only to be told we had to come back in 2 hits as family time and our hotel should have told us, when we got back to hotel they couldn't care less!! After spending £4,600 on this hotel we are so disappointed. Will never come back or recommend this hotel!!! More
