Hotel Paradise Park

Pretty panoramas, a choice of attractive pools, and a peaceful spa are some of the best bits at the Hotel Paradise Park.

This hotel is wrapped in huge gardens on top of a small hill, with panoramic views of the town and coast. The popular Playa de las Vistas Beach is a scenic 20-minute walk away. The hotel runs a shuttle bus to save you the legwork, though.

This place flaunts some good-looking facilities. There's a rooftop pool and another carved into rock. The atrium is filled with pretty plants, and rooms are dressed in modern neutral tones. Plus, the whole place is being made over for summer 2015.

Lovely, clean hotel and friendly staff!!

Just returned from Paradise Park Resort after a 2 week stay. On arrival in check in we were told that the rooms we originally booked were not available (2 x premium junior suites) until the day after and they put us in 2 superior double rooms which were ok but not the rooms we wanted, they offered us all inclusive for the rest of the holiday if we kept these 2 rooms, we told them that we wanted the rooms that we originally booked as these were more comfortable and spacious. We eventually got our rooms at 1.30pm the following day and were not disappointed, very spacious, could do with a refurb, but still very nice, we also got a free spa for the inconvenience. Now to the hotel itself, very nice and clean and staff very friendly. There were 2 pools for adults only which was lovely as we had 2 teenagers with us and didn't really want the noise round the family pool. There were also 2 family pools, one on the complex and another just outside the gates across a path which was also very nice and clean, the downside on this pool is that the locals are allowed in on a weekend, they pay for all inclusive for the day and as soon as they go in they go straight to the food and cleared everything!. The pools opened at 9am and people weren't allowed to get sunbeds until this time but it did not stop people from queueing from 8am in the morning to reserve their sunbeds, we found this very amusing as it was like wacky races people running to get their beds!! Men were pushing passed women and nearly knocking them over to get their usual beds, this was quite embarrassing to see. There were plenty of sunbeds on the adults only area as people did not bother to try and reserve these. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis so can only comment on the breakfast. There was quite a big choice of things to have ranging from your full English to pancakes, continental, cereals, toasties, fruit etc, something for everyone, you could also make yourself a bucks fizz if you wanted one! If you are not all inclusive there are one or two restaurants just outside the hotel, the nearest being Taurus, we ate there on a couple of occasions and would highly recommend it, just round the corner from Taurus is Marguys, lovely food and very welcoming owners and staff, my daughter couldn't make her mind up what she wanted for her dinner so she was asked what she liked on her pizza, after telling the waiter they produced her very own pizza!! All in all we had a lovely time but don't think we will be going back.More

Expected so much better!!

We booked this hotel as a last minute break with our two teenage children picking it mainly down to the wonderful reviews on trip adviser. Firstly there are many positives about this hotel and most of the reviews on here I would tend to agree with...clean,friendly,nice pool areas and not to far from the beach, resturants etc....however there are some things that aren't great and it's for this reason I didn't mark it higher than 3 stars. We have stayed in many hotels all over the world from 3 star to 5 star on different room basis ,we decided that we would stay half board in this hotel due to wanting to experience some of the bars / resturants outside the hotel grounds. This is my first negative of the hotel,on being half board you have breakfast and a evening meal but you don't get drinks with your evening meal( we have on other half board holidays) not a problem other than the fact we couldn't even have water!! And wasn't cheap!!The food was good(not great) but lots of choice and always clean. Also to add insult we were charged 50 cents for a cup of ice from around the pool area. The other main negative and again why I marked this hotel down is the crazy system they have for sun beds and pool opening times. We love getting up early on holiday and making the most of the sunshine and lying on the sun beds when we wake up not having to wait and queue for them until gone 9am.The whole idea behind it apparently is to stop sun beds being reserved!!! Well that works!! People are let in one at a time, aloud to pick sun beds by putting towels on them and then going off for breakfast, back to bed, into town etc (not everyone)..bloody joke and I couldn't believe people were queueing for them, the other pool across the road was even later at 10am and was the better of the 2 pools. I would go back to this hotel on a b&b basis and with a true idea of what to expect,it has free bus service to the beach and the sea front which is a must to eat in some fantastic places, our favourite being the chill out bar!More

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Horrible hotel, rude staff, dirty and poor pool facilities. Initially they put us in the old rooms which were dirty, invested with cockroaches and had unusable bathrooms. After complaining we were given a new refurbished room which were ok. High charge for safe key - this should be a free service. This should be advertised as a 2 star hotel.More

Jason3000,

A bit of a let down

If you look at my previous reviews and I am an honest reviewer who makes people aware of the positives and negatives of the resorts we've stopped in, so here you go. The Room Positives - The room we stopped in was number 269 which was a 2 floor duplex. It was very spacious, kept very clean, towels and bedding changed every day. Negative - the air con was set on 26 and stank, which we reported but nothing was done. We kept it off for the rest of holiday as you can't me too careful. There was a really bad storm the second night and the plastic window in the kids room was flapping and leaked in all over one of the beds. This was reported and a maintenance man did come and pushed the window in and out a couple of times and then we never saw him again. So I had to stop the window from flapping by putting pieces of card and magazines in the gaps. The room was in the annex part of the hotel overlooking the bigger pool and the car park and bins and let me tell you the bins stank and the smell even travelled to our room. Food & drink Positives - we thought the food was generally very good with something for us all but we are not fussy eaters and will try anything. The drinks selection was too be expected at an AI and the bottled beer on a night was better than the Amstel on pump. Negatives - the pool side bar in the bigger pool was poorly replenished when it was full of locals on a weekend. Swimming Pools Do not be fooled by the photos in the brochures, these are not big pools. The small one in the main part saw people queuing at 8 onwards even though it didn't open while 9. All the beds gone by 9.05. The other pool was bigger and the pool area had a lot of beds. This opens at 10 but again people queue from 9.15 onwards but if you're not fussed where you sit, I would rock up at 10 and get one. There was a Benidorm style incident on one of the days with an unidentified floater in the pool which meant it was then shut for 4 hours. But this is not the hotels fault and showed that they take this seriously. Overall Cleanliness Our first week there was pretty spotless even though there was not enough of them to get the pool areas ready after the storm which meant a delay in opening the pools. The second week there seemed to be more drinks and food spillages on walkways and general areas but I think this coincided with a noticeable change in some of the clientele. Courtesy Room We've only just calmed down about this one. We asked to pay for a room at 7.50 on the morning to told the hotel was full and none available, fair enough. So we booked a courtesy room 559. It was not for for farm animals. There were no towels provided, previously users had dumped towels, it had not been cleaned in between and stank of urine. The shower was crap and we only got a shorter time to get ready thanks to the inconsiderate users before hand. This was reported they were apologetic and said it would be rectified for the next users. Entertainment Again standard for these hotels the Eagles tribute were very good. The yazidi bar where the shows were on is small and red hot. They only have two bar staff on so get ready for queuing, I have never known only two staff on anywhere else I have stopped. Staff Very pleasant and friendly. Overall we have still enjoyed our holiday, as its what you make of it, we will return to Tenerife but not this hotel. People who do return must have not experienced better hotels.More

Treated differently because we were younger

We booked this holiday on December 27th for the 14th of August for 1 week half board in a twin room situated in the new renovated building which were advertised to us when we booked so we were under the assumption that we had booked a great holiday package. On arrival we checked in and were tired after a long journey, we were greeted by a man who helped us with our cases which was the only good thing I can say about this hotel, We got to our so called twin room/studio This room was not advertised online anywhere and there were no pictures of the room to be seen. The reason why there were no pictures was because the room was outdated and run down, many areas of the room were deemed to require TLC and maintenance, these rooms should not of been in use in fact. The rooms were of an older hotel to which paradise park had previously bought. When you book this hotel online it states that the whole hotel had been renovated but clearly this room hadn't. The shower room was horrific with gangrene in the tiles which clearly indicated the lack of cleaning, there was droppings behind the door for 5 days which showed that there was a lack of cleaning done and this was eventually cleaned only because I had brushed this out to a more viewable area. The shower head itself fell and hit me while I was in the shower this was due to an incorrect fitment on the shower that caused the shower to fall off the clip when you turned it off this issue was however fixed quite promptly but circumstances would have been different if there were a child under the shower. The actual living area of the rooms were dusty in many areas, under the beds had never been cleaned, however based on information from other guests that we had met who had been staying in the new renovated building, cleaning standards were completely different in fact they had praised cleaning standards in that area which indicated that guests who stayed in the older building were being treated differently to guests staying in the renovated building. We didn't complain about the room on this occasion because we shouldn't of had to complain in the first place we should of been allocated the rooms that we had been advertised and booked originally, we were clearly mis-sold by thomsons an issue and complaint that has already been raised. This wasn't the highlight of stay however that is yet to come. The food at the hotel was average but not the best but that was expected and food was edible and not the worst I had encountered. The main pool opened at 9 am and you have to join the queue of conger in order to get a sun bed there. The lazy river pool opened at 10 am and the queue there was also rather large. The pool and jacuzzis on the roof were excellent but did require much more cleaning than what was carried out and this area opened at 9 am until 7 pm however food closes on the roof at 5 and drink is also closed at 5.30 on the roof but yet the roof is open until 7 pm which is a clear way of reducing all inclusive drinks and food. All inclusive drink only runs until 11 pm, after that time you have to pay for all drinks including water. not all food orders are free however such as pizza and other things come at a cost even for all inclusive guests and all inclusive guests are only entitled to local spirits and beer and soft drinks. The highlight that has actually made me want to give this review such a bad rating was mainly down to the service and the way the hotel is run. There were many limitations to guests that are not expected at other all inclusive hotels especially stopping free drinks after 11 pm. On our last day we checked out at 12 pm and were allowed to use one of the rooms at 6 pm to have a shower which I found quite good as this isn't normally offered for free, our transfer bus was at 8.25 so we had planned to go have dinner however on this last day we had got dressed and ready. We got to the entrance to have dinner like we normally do, advised the staff member our room number, we were then told that dinner wasn't included and we would have to pay, but yet we had paid for 7 nights and had only ate 6 of those nights because we only arrived at 10.30 pm the previous Friday so we wouldn't of ate that days because we wasn't there until that time, I then had to go back upstairs and speak to the receptionist because I knew we were entitled to this meal. We had to complain and speak to the manager to explain that we had only ate 6 of the nights and that we should be entitled to last night meal. We were extremely shocked that this problem occurred and have never ever experienced anything like this from a so called 4 star hotel. We eventually managed to get two tickets giving us the ability to have food that we had paid for but after this we thought that the issue shouldn't of occurred and that we were being treated differently because we were young, the hotel tried get more money out of us, we also spoke to another older couple who were travelling on the same flight as us and they hadn't experienced that problem at dinner, we also advised another young couple who also were on the same flight that they were also entitled to food and hey had to go to reception also just to get tickets for their meal but yet the older couple didn't have to do this. This final experience was the highlight of the holiday and we can't believe that this issue wasn't considered before it occurred, we wouldn't of been at the hotel at that time of we had already had 7 meals Disappointment is an understatement for this hotel, extremely let down by this and will not been returning I wouldn't rate this 4 star but it seems that the hotel takes advantage that they have been rated 4 star, perhaps their accommodation should be re rated!!!!!!!! Please see photos of the room we stayed in More
