We stayed for 10 nights all inclusive. The room was clean and spacious, but the walls are paper thin and we could hear peopleâs conversations next door whilst we were in the room. If the neighbours put their TV on it was impossible to get to sleep at night. The door to the adjoining room was damaged, and it was obvious that someone had broken into the room at some point. We did not expect to have an adjoining room and as the door was in such bad condition we were disappointed. Luckily there was a safe in the room that we used for valuables, but this did cost extra. The food was good, plentiful and there were always vegetarian options. There were 7 different themed nights which then repeated at the end of the week. Snacks are provided between meals, so you never get hungry. Aqua aerobics in the morning was good fun, however the afternoon entertainment was a game of giant connect-four or darts, which is pretty pathetic. The evening entertainment was very bad. One evening we left the performance as the act involved a live bird that seemed reluctant to partake in the show but was forced to by being shaken. I was disgusted at what I saw and I implore the hotel to remove this act. Animals are not props. There is a late night disco that the hotel holds once the evening entertainment has finished. Personally it was not for me, but there is a dance floor and they played loud cheesy pop music if you wanted to dance. It was just too tacky for my liking. The pool tables in the hotel were either out of order, or missing the white ball, so you could not play. The tennis courts are located across the road and there is a small charge for hiring the rackets and balls. The courts are not in great condition, but we enjoyed a game. Considering the size of the hotel there was not adequate room around the pool to accommodate the guests. However, there is a separate sunbathing area outside of the hotel three streets away. This area has a self-serve bar and is much quieter than the main pool area, but there are no toilets and it's quite an annoying walk back and forward to the hotel every time you need to go. The hotel is located in a remote residential area. There is a convenience store and a supermarket which are both close by. You can walk along the sea front which is pretty. Other than that, there is really nowhere to go unless you get a bus to another resort. Overall the hotel was disappointing and although there were a few aspects that we enjoyed, I would definitely not return and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone else.More
Had a brilliant time
The hotel was lovely and clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Room was on the third floor very large bed. Food nice and there is a snack bar during the daytime as well as the restaurant. The hotel offers good entertainment each night as well as some daytime activies which are fun. The resort is very quiet but there is a couple of lovely walks one to Candelaria a nice quaint town. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel which goes to Santa Cruz and various destinations.More
GREAT HOLIDAY FOR THE PRICE
i stayed at the punta del ray in February and had a great time the hotel is clean and tidy with very helpful staff there was always something to eat in the restaurant which was a bonus as im a bit picky we paid an extra 6 euros each to eat in the Italian restaurant and to be honest the food just wasn't worth the extra payment. the night entertainment was pretty good with one compare who was brilliant with the kids and got the crowd going. the room was kept clean and tidy by our maid with fresh towels whenever we wanted them. the hotel is quite a walk from the shops and bars take a trip to los christianos market if you like to buy the holiday gifts and have a walk along the beach. i think the only thing i can complain about is the pool side area as there wasn't much room and all the beds were crammed together for the money i paid for the holiday i cannot complain as i had a great time with my familyMore
The hotel is in need of a total refurbishment. The staff are excellent and so friendly and helpful. To get a balcony with sun you need to pay for the upgrade although often these rooms are smaller. The food and entertainment vary although there is a good choice in both. The sun beds round the pool are reserved early in the morning and although notices says belongings will be removed if not occupied we never saw this happen.More
Birthday surprise holiday
We travelled to Catalonia Punta del Rey on January 31st 2017 just myself and my wife we arrived approx 2.30 pm and the temperature was 23 degrees I was quite surprised to be seeing how full it was. The hotel is first class check in very quick need to have all passports out our room was on the 9th floor looking out over the pool sea and mountains really nice view. Food was definitely first class good breakfast good choice for lunch then the evening meal was again even better proper restaurant quality food. The entertainment during the day was fun and especially on the evening was even better good choice. The rooms were cleaned daily on the 01st Feb it was my wife's 50th birthday the hotel sent a plate of fruit a bottle of prossecco up to the room for her. A couple of times during our 5 day stay we had a walk along the prom which was really nice. Each day the weather was getting hotter but definitely a nice 5 day break would defo recommend this hotel to anyone.More
