Fantastic hotel, very very clean, food was beautiful with a lot of choice, resort is quiet. Hotel entertainment was good fun, animation staff were fab. No issues except WIFI is hit and miss in the rooms. We upgraded and I would recommend doing this, as on leaving we were allocated a room to shower and it was not as big or as nice as ours and the view wasn't great in this room either. More
Arrived 5th May for a weeks holiday with my husband, check in was a bit slow late evening but other than that could not fault anything .Room was clean and beds were changed regularly, all the staff at the hotel worked hard and were always very pleasant .Very good choice of food in the restaurant and snack bar and drinks were of a good quality. For the price paid I don't think anyone should complain. Well done all at Punta del Ray thank you for a pleasant holiday.More
Lovely hotel, great food/drinks and staff!
We stayed at punta del Rey 4th may 2017 for one week. As a family of three (22 month old baby) the hotel was very accommodating as we arrived very late offering drinks. We rented a fridge for the week at a small cost due to needing it for the baby's drinks etc although drinks were easily accessible all day with water machines dotted about the hotel (very good idea)! The rooms are basic but always clean, towels changed everyday however the bedding isn't, maybe once In the week it was changed which is fine I'm sure if we asked they would have changed it more often. The pool is big enough amd not freezing, dispite other reviews regarding sun beds we never struggled to get a bed even if we went to the pool around 10am we did go out of season though so I can only speak from my experience which was a positive one. The food is outstanding in my opinion one of the best all inclusive hotels I've stayed at food wise such variety and a Italian restaurant on site with a 5 course meal for a small cost. I was surprised that they had proper Diet Coke on tap as lots of hotels I've stayed at do not this was a real perk for me. We don't drink much alcohol but the choice was great cocktails, cava, a range of soft drinks and hot drinks. I can't fault the food and drink at all! The only negative i can say about this hotel is that the pool bar is very loud on an evening and we were situated on the pool side on the first floor so heard word for word what some people said and the music was very loud, I would recommend asking for a higher room and not pool side if you are taking children who go to bed early or go to bed early yourself, having said that the music/loudness never woke my son up or prevented us from getting to sleep. There were a few very loud groups of people but that wasn't the hotels fault and they did deal with a few incidents very well I thought just a shame people have to act like children when having too much alcohol! The entertainment for my little boy was great a little mini disco but we never stayed up too late so couldn't say what the other entertainment was like. Talking to a few people around the pool many come back year after year and for the money it was very very good value! The location isnt very tourist focused but your within 20 minutes of the capital and within 45 minutes of the south (los Christianos) the hotel run trips all over the place, we went to loro parque which was absolutely fantastic!! All in all a lovely hotel and holiday!More
I struggle to understand the five star ratings for this hotel almost as much as I struggle to understand the four stars over the entrance to this hotel. Let's start with the good points the hotel is kept clean and erm that's about it. Be welcomed by the reception staff who look at you as if they stepped in something unpleasant, enjoy the lukewarm repetitive offers in the buffet restaurant and the entertainment which at best lasts for an hour each evening. Throw in the lifeguard hitler who puts your umbrella down at the merest breeze and the fact there is absolutely nothing to do at this "resort" bar walk around taking in the derelict buildings. If you enjoy spending the day getting sozzled by the pool surrounded by the kind of people who's idea of dressing up for dinner is to throw a teeshirt over their shorts this may well be right up your street. If you booked one week I'd feel sorry for you but two and you may well find yourself climbing the walls More
