Even Basil Fawlty would be ashamed
The hotel is run like a prison with areas being locked off and sealed after 11pm. The staff hurd you like cattle from area to areas ultimately wanting everyone to be in bed. This is enforced by lights being turned off. Whilst the beds are comfy the AC is not sufficient and yet again more control measures. To have the temperature altered the staff have to come with remote. If you request a room change you have to vacate your room by 11am and wait till 2pm for your new room. The dinning room constantly stinks of fish which travels through the hotel and into your clothes. The only saving grace for this hotel is the shop next door and Mc D's up the road. The staff need some serious training around customer service. The lady in glasses is the rudest person there and the assistant manager walks away when your complaining. More
A relaxing stay
A quiet location, relaxing and perfect. The entertainment was good and kept you busy. The staff worked very hard. Locally you can catch a bus into local towns if you wanted a trip out. These were cheap and easy to use. Thank you for a lovely stay.More
Punta Del Ray.
Stayed at Punta Del Ray for 10 nights, 2 adults. Where to start? Firstly, anyone travelling in the near future, any negative reviews are people being very picky. The hotel itself is situated in Candelaria, nothing in the immediate area, a small shop, a supermarket, and a McDonalds. The hotel is very clean, a little dated, but does that effect your stay like some people say? No. Breakfast served from 7-10, breakfast was a little poor, however from 10:30am, help yourselfs to toasties in the pool bar, followed by burgers, hotdogs, pasta, chips & salad. Soft drinks on self service, bonus not waiting in cues, Amstel served self serviced from 10:30-6 located at the pool bar too, watch out for the spirits, overly sized doubles, bonus! Dinner was very impressive, different themes every night, partner being veggie, never went hungry either, very impressed. There's a couple picks, the sun bed race is true, however, plenty of space to sunbath even if you don't get a bed, have only used the beds ones and come back very brown & wasn't getting up at 7am everyday to do this. Overall, if was offered the chance to come to Punta Del Ray for the same price, we would definitely come again. More
Tui "all inclusive" stay
Terrible place to stay! All inclusive stops at 11pm and if you want any drinks they are 4-6 € per drink. You also get 'base spirits' and if you want the better stuff that isn't detergent you then need to pay €10 a DAY to become V.I.P on an "all inclusive" holiday They have a "club" down stairs is always empty and closes at 2am and the location of the hotel means there is literally nothing for you to do afterwards! Food in the buffet is not up to health and safety standards! Bugs/flies everywhere and food doesn't get refreshed or even kept at a suitable temperature level! The "hostess" Carmen Ross is the rudest person I've ever met and I have no idea how she has a job. She was never polite and didn't smile once for the whole two weeks I was trapped at this hotel... went to dinner before my group and asked for a table of six as my friends were just behind me to which I was told that I'm alone and can't have a table for six, when I tried to explain I had people coming she started to say rude things about me in Spanish to the people around her under the assumption that I didn't understand what she was saying and when questioned about it walked away from me leaving me with no information Pool is small and you can never get a sun bed! The pool is never cleaned I have watched as they wash all the dirt and junk from around the pool into it at night time which is apparent when using goggles in the pool you can see the clumps of hair, plastic cups and other garbage that's been swept in there Tui are kind enough to have you picked up at 8pm but the hotel demands you check out by 12pm an have your all inclusive band removed meaning you have 8 hours to kill! Asked to extend the room and they tell you to come back the next but will not actually help you! Ordered a new room so we could have some place to put our luggage and a room to shower in and was told that we would be put in the same room we were already in, when asked why we can't just extend the room they said they would need it for someone else when they were done meaning we could pay to rent a room for the whole day and when we check out the next Tui person would then get the room as it would be cleaned between the time we leave and they arrive! TL:DR! Stay on the other side of the island and not at Catalonia! The only positive was the wifi made me not blow my brains out More
