Cava on arrival, always a good start.
We first visited in March 2016 and booked a return trip straightaway for March 2017. Since our last visit there was a new outside bar and stage but the best improvement was the new sunbeds. They were super comfy so much in fact my friend didn't leave them for 10 days! However, we did have a few issues getting good sunbeds as there was 6 of us. Normally an early morning dash. The rooms are a good size with a nice balcony and a large bathroom. You get a big bottle of water everyday. Room comes with a hairdryer and fridge. There is a number of pools and bars. There is a good selection of food with themed nights. I am a fussy eater and found something to eat every night even if it was just pizza. My favourite night was the outdoor BBQ or the Barvarian night. The staff are all really friendly and make you feel special even with full hotel. David in the bar and Elie in the animation team were especially good at this. The animation team were really engaging but not pushy. I am glad that aqua gym is now on every day as I really enjoy it. There was free wifi in the hotel and I personally had really good coverage. Located near the beach, supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Everything you need in Costa Adeje. The clientle were a little younger this year so we didn't stand out as much! Really want to go back soon!!!More
Super Holiday at Hovima
We recently returned from a 2 week holiday at the Hovima Costa Adeje and what a super time we had. The hotel is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Our room was very comfortable and overlooked the pool area. The restaurant had a very good choice of food and the local alcohol was ok. The Gourmet restaurant was very nice but we preferred the choice in the buffet restaurant. The staff at the Hotel were very friendly and reception was very efficient. We really liked the area as there are plenty of walks available; the walk to La Caleta was great and the fishing village itself really lovely. We were lucky that the weather was hot and sunny. The only slight downside in the Hotel was that if you wanted a sunbed round the pool the towels had to go out very early! All in all a superb hotel and resort, we will definitely be returning.More

we visited the hotel for 10 days from the 7th to 17th of march 2017. we were there as two couples. first the positives nice hotel, wonderful staff across the board they were all very very friendly and helpful. the food is delicious and varied you can always find something you like. the english type toasters are a bonus. the snack bar by the pool is also very good. coffee machines are excellent having hot drinks all day if you want it. the hotel is in a good position. entertainment is excellent and the resident boys and girls are lovely. Negatives are few but first our room was poor (340) compared to our friends 325, it was at the very back of the hotel wihich we didnt mind but it is smaller all round with a smaller bed and only one reading light above the bed. the room is tired and needs upgrading the wall light worn and dirty and the blanket in the wardrobe had black marks all over it. the size wouldnt have been a problem to us as we spend little time in there but does need a general refurb. As been said before the sunbeds get booked at dawn. not a problem if you claim it by say 11.00am but to not claim it until the afternoon is unfair as there doesnt seem enough sunbeds for everyone. safes are 3 euros a day plus 10euros returnable deposit which is a bit steep. overall we had a good holiday and would return.More

Booking Hovima maybe think twice.
The Hovima hotel situated very close to all Adeje has to offer could only be described as a large 4* crammed into a plot that lacks external space around its pools and sun terraces and whilst both inside and out are kept spotlessly clean many areas including the main restaurant, and evening bar struggle to accommodate guests at busy times. Sunbed grabbing at the Hovima is with out doubt amongst the worst we have ever experienced, the fabric covered, metal framed loungers with adjustable backs are very comfy but to ensure you get one you will need to be up by 6-7am and the management do nothing too discourage this, an upgrade to gold may help but where ever you are around the pool sides you will be well packed in with space being such a premium. We found the al a carte restaurant very good with a somewhat limited menu the fish evening was excellent and food very good but the main buffet restaurant inside gets very noisy, but there is an alfresco alternative for all meals available the food however can vary. Breakfast time and in my opinion the bacon and sausage was of very poor quality with cereals not much better, my wife requested an omelette one morning which was so under cooked could have quite easily been poured of the plate. The breakfast buffet only has one main toaster which was almost useless and also an additional 3, domestic 2 slice toasters so along with limited hot food stations queuing was inevitable. Lunch time and evening buffet was a little better with some food being very nice but things like chicken drum sticks found to be only half cooked and still red and in the most only warm if not cold. Wine is served with lunch and evening meals but sad to say in my opinion also of poor quality, and described by one fellow guest as total crap! We had booked a superior room with pool view and located on the 4 floor we found it to be very comfortable and the hotel provided mattress toppers for our somewhat hard beds but the biggest problem with the room was the shower it flooded the bathroom and beyond every time it was used but extra towels where provided to mop up after use. The all inclusive drinks are also in my opinion poor quality but measures very generous Alternatively you may wish to upgrade to gold band at 10 euro a day each for less generous measures or just nip over the road from the main entrance to the super market and buy all the international brands at around 12-15 euro a litre for that quite evening drink on your balcony. We found the entertainment team with out doubt the most friendly of the hotel staff, with some exceptions as most staff just did not seem to want to engage or had no time to talk to guests and we never saw any senior management walking round asking if all was ok. So the Hovima is not somewhere I could really recommend and would have wish to return but for someone thinking of booking 2017-2018 just a couple of tips all the pool side rooms face and are very close to the Iberostar (Toriscas PLaya) hotel, this hotel the Iberostar will close at the end of march 2017 for over 12months and have a 30million euro refit its being ripped apart along with its grounds etc so anyone booking pool view rooms at the Hovima will be looking out on a building site and there are also extensive drainage works being carried out opposite the Hovima entrance which is not expected to complete till 2018 so in my opinion should be checked out and given consideration.More

Excellent adult only hotel
We were greeted with a cold glass of champagne on arrival and new from the start that we were in for a great holiday. Rooms are cleaned everyday and bathroom restocked daily with shower gel and shampoo etc...on arrival back to our room everyday the maid had made some amazing towel art on our bed :-) unfortunately we cannot remember her name :-( she was great and always had a smile and an hello Meals are great from breakfast ,lunch and evening meal there is a great variety,so you will never go hungry. The beach is within 10 minute walk from hotel and on an evening there are plenty of restaurant and bars to explore which have nightly entertainment on for those who want to explore from the hotel grounds. There are daily activities around the pool which are organised by the entertainment staff who are great, they will ask you if you want to participate and if you say no thank you, they smile and say maybe tomorrow. We met some great people at this resort, and hope to meet you all again. As this is an adults only hotel and a lot of the people are in there 50s/60s,everybody is laid back,no hustle or bustle. Me and the wife are in our 40s we had a fantastic time and have booked to go back again in October :-) Kim & Andy :-)More
