It was overall a great holiday for the adults and children. The hotel is a short walk from two sandy beaches with watersports, restraunts and bars. The hotel was clean, staff were mostly freindly (some of the waiters and waitresses could do with a smile) and our family room was a little tired in places, but nothing that would really stand out. I must say that the Air Con was great and definately required overnight. The main pool (where my son wanted to be all day if he could) is deeper than I first expected and the liner is a bit rippled on the bottom and steps (which could do with being addressed). The food was varied and to a good standard with plenty of choice with fresh fruit, salads and pastries along with the meals, all buffet style.
If the minor points were addressed I would have rated the hotel as excellent!More

Reading the reviews I wonder if people stayed in the same hotel as us, I guess people have different standards!
The hotel is in a good central location with easy access to the beach and shops.
The rooms are a good size for 4 we never felt cramped, the beds where made every day but the room was not cleaned well at any point during our stay. There was thick dust and a hair ball under the bed that was there on arrival and was still there 11 days later. The bath was cleaned once.
The beds are very comfortable and the TV had a good selection
Pool was lovely and cool and we never had an issue with sunbeds. Top tip go for the ones beside the lifeguard you get sun all day (if it shines)
The food was really poor worse than most school canteen. Breakfast was the best but don't go before 8:30 you can't get pancakes, or after 9:30 they are clearing up.
Avoid the grill station or at least observe before trying they use the same utensils for cooked and raw.
Drinks this was the most frustrating part of the whole holiday, they have a waiter service in the restaurant and bars don't expect them to work at any speed if you are all inclusive.
Drinks are good when they arrive but very small.
We often felt like second class citizens
Beach beside the hotel is not safe for swimming very strong current and lots of hidden rocks, we heard of several people being injured.
Kids club is fab my daughter (8) loved it.
Trip to mount taide is good the half day one gets you back at 6pm
Best bit of the holiday was Saim park it is very highly recommended.
If you want good wifi sit down where the bookcase is at the bottom floor opposite the hairdressers.
There is an issue with the Stars allocated this is at the best a 3 star.
Staff (not animation) are all miserable and you know you are an inconvenience to them!More

Excellent family holiday
We stayed at the hotel for 8 days two adults and two children. We requested a pool view room by mail directly with the hotel and that's what we got. Staff where all friendly and worked long hours and very hard in the heat. All seemed to speak reasonable English, The meals had plenty of variety and did not respect them selves often. The food was very good, the only negative comment I would make is what ever grilled meat the did never seemed to work, tough and over cooked, but the grilled fish was excellent.fresh salad where available at all meals. Midday snacks by the pool was always available and good. Bar staff where friendly and very efficient. Room was cleaned and fresh towels every day. Pool was clean, always busy, but we found no problem getting a subbed at anytime of day. When checked nag out you can extend your room for a â¬40 charge if the next visitors are not arriving early. All in all a good stay. More
We have just returned from our stay 10th to 20th August. 2 adults 2 children (14 and 9).
We loved this hotel! The rooms were spotlessly clean, no bits on your feet as you walked on the floor and air conditioning.
The food was very tasty, never have we been abroad and had food so hot it burned your mouth. My little boy is fussy but always found something to eat. There was so much to choose from I would recommennd wandering round everything first to see what is on offer as it is fairly well spread out. Pancakes and omelettes for breakfast.
All the staff work so hard and were very friendly.
We went and sat by the two new pools the sun beds were clearly new too. We never struggled to get a sun bed and thats a first. The sun beds had lovely thick cushions on and there were tables for you to use and plenty of umbrellas.
I would recommend buying your Siam Park tickets from the lovely lady in the reception area. We bought the vip passes at 99euro each. Amazing day out.
We would all love to go back to this hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay Fanabe.More

Second visit almost as perfect as the first!
This was our second visit. I'd emailed in advance asking for a pool facing room on an upper floor. We were given room 468 which was perfect. The balcony had a great view of the mountains inland, and it got the sun until about 11am (early August).
The building itself does look a little dated now - there's no getting away from that, and it's clearly not an easy one for the owners to solve overnight! Don't let that facade put you off though - it's what's inside that matters!
The room was spotless and was cleaned every day. It was a double room with two single beds and a single sofa bed. The TV's appear to have been replaced since we first visited, and there are plenty of channels for all ages.
We were all-inclusive, and the choice of drinks at the bar was great, from coffees and hot chocolates, through local and premium beers, spirits and cocktails. I stuck to the bottles of Dorada ...
Food in the restaurant for breakfast was very similar every day, which was fine - there was a great fry-up, cereals, yogurts, toast, cakes, cheese and meats.
Lunches and evening meals were also great. There was plenty of variety over our week there, and we were never bored of what was on offer. The meats were cooked beautifully - in particular the lamb, pork and beef. They were 'melt-in-the-mouth' tender!
One thing I did notice about the evenings was that they've severely dropped the 'please wear long trousers' rule in the restaurant. In 2013 they were turning people away. I had to lend a stranger a pair of trousers one night, that's how strict it was. This year, however, it was 'anything goes'. I'm not sure how I felt about that - I kind of liked it being a bit smarted at night, and I kept up the tradition of wearing long trousers!
We didn't really use the pool area, although we noticed that the rush for sunbeds each day was less frantic that in 2013. There were about 10 people queueing each day for their cherished prime positions, but even by 10am there were still plenty of beds left.
The hotel is a bit of a (pleasant) walk up from the beach front. I say pleasant ... in 32 degree heat I was certainly 'glowing' by the time I reached the hotel after a slow walk back! There's a few shops and a couple of cash machines very close to the hotel - including a 'Hiper Dino' supermarket across the road, for bargain night-time snacks for the room!
There was usually some sort of entertainment outside the front of the hotel each night - a lovely place to sit with a drink as the temperature cools a little.
We won't hesitate to re-book at this hotel in the future, although in September we're trying one of the other hotels in the GF Hoteles chain - the Isabel across the road. Just for a bit of a change, no other reason.More
