Pleasant but bit tired

We stayed here for a week recently and it was a bit of a mixed bag. The hotel's exterior is plain and all concrete yet in a lovely area. Reception is fine and the staff were pleasant and efficient. Although we know you may not always get what you request, we certainly didn't get a quiet room with sea views. On the plus side the beds were comfortable with great pillows, the room was spotlessly clean and the towels and bedding changed regularly. However, our room was above the kitchens and a service road. We were woken up every morning around 6am by either delivery vans, refuse collection or cleaning. We stayed B and B and the food was well presented and generally OK. if a bit samey. The pool area was good and there was a lot to do for children, even though the main group was the retired. The hotel also had a sun roof which was fantastic with bar and toilets but lacked enough parasols. We would probably stay there again but not in room 261.More

PhiljLichfield,

good location, very clean and great breakfasts !

Lots of plus points for this hotel group, Last year we went to the Isabel, sister hotel over the road. This hotel we stopped for 16 nights over xmas 2015. we found the staff to be helpful and polite. The maids cleaned daily to a high standard . Theres a smal lfridge in the room if you want to get drinks from the supermarket over the road to keep them chilled in your room. we went BNB, the breakfasts were great, so much choice for all nationallitys, and all you could eat. we didn't use the main pool as it was shaded except for one side in the day and a bit crowded n load by the bar area, we used the newer smaller one at the back . it was cold but much nicer , better sun beds and a lot quieter. .. Hotels in a good location about 10 mins from the seafront, down hill, where the beer was only 1-2 euro a pint and lots of places to eat a 3 course for 9-10 euro. we used these a few times and found them to be exc.value for money...you don't need to be half board or all inc, as outside the hotel is good value. the hotel is more suited to couples or familys with older childeren who can have a sep room. nice and big for 2 but not suitable for a family over 3 persons, we did have a family room .We preferred the Isabel rooms as you had a sep lounge and kitchenette here you only get a room which my hubby found a pain as he likes to get up very early to read or watch tv which was fine at Isabel hotel as you have that sep bedroom... we will return for xmas2016 but at the other sister hotel Costa Adeje Grand. the downside to this hotel was the disco/show bar where the entertainment wasn't a patch on Hotel Isabel, especially if you have 4-12 yr old kids and it had a strange smell down there too.. ask for a sunny balcony on a high floor to avoid noise and being chilly on the balcony as one side doesn't get any sun at all.. I asked to be moved , which they did after 3 days.... we would return to this hotel as a couple not a family More

Fanabe Costa sur

Brilliant weeks stay early December 2015, cannot fault the hotel in any way, from the cleanliness to the food, only stayed bed and breakfast but the choice was amazing, bit of a hill from the beach front but nothing to strenuous, nice walk of an evening, rooftop terrace is very peaceful, plus a bar up there for a beer in the afternoon, all in all a brilliant hotel, would definitely stay there again More

gane,

Moved here for our second week in August 2015 after an awful first week somewhere else - Beautiful

After our disastrous first week at Tamaimo Tropical at Los Gigantes we were able to negotiate to be moved ( at our expense - thank you Thomas Cook !) to this hotel. What a difference to where we had been staying. The hotel is beautifully done out the rooms are clean and modern with Hot water ( See other review !) There are plenty of sun bathing areas and always enough beds. Food is excellent and plentiful. Entertainment staff were fun and great with the children - plenty going on if you wanted it. Lovely roof top bar and terrace for escaping the kids. Great location with lots of bars and restaurants and walking distance to sandy beaches. Entertainment a bit cheesy and they could improve on this a bit. This saved our holiday and we would definately stay here again.More

Kittyontheroad,

Lovely hotel, beautiful resirt

Positives first: large room with two sofas and balcony. Large single beds approx 4 foot wide each! TV with a few UK channels. Small fridge. His and hers sinks, shower over bath, hairdryer, plenty of towels, toilet and bidet. Very well cleaned daily. Small safe costs €1.80 per day plus a returnable deposit. Pool towels provided free for a €10 deposit each and can be changed daily. Nice restaurant with large selection at breakfast buffet. Did not try the lunch and dinner. The roof terrace is quiet as children wouldn't go there as nothing to do but sunbathe. Small bar available on the roof terrace. Nudist section tastefully shielded. Negatives: No car park as advertised -well there's 9 parking spaces! Parking is on the road outside but difficult to find a space. There is a free public car park behind the hotel but cars need to be moved Wednesday evening for the market on Thursday and again Friday evening for the market on Saturday. Only one electric point available in room unless you unplug TV or fridge or use one in the bathroom. Deposits required in cash for towels and safe so you don't get them back until last day when you're going home so too late to spend the cash! Breakfast buffet use machines for drinks. Hot drinks are OK but would advise you use the fresh juice from the jugs rather than the machines. General: walk down to beach where there is a lovely promenade and lots of restaurants of all different prices. Atlantico is one of the best. On the lower beach level there are cafes offering 3 course meals for less than €10. If you want to sit on the beach, many of the hirers are charging €30-€50 for sun beds, parasols and food and drink but you can find hire for 2 sun beds and parasol for €15 all day. There is a shopping plaza with many shops over 3 levels only 10 minutes walk away. This resort appears to be geared towards the more mature couples. However, there are water sports available on the beach and a children's play area in the sea. It would be suitable for young couples who are not bothered about going to nightclubs. Be aware that if you hire a car from the airport, some will charge you for a full tank of petrol and then tell you to return it empty. I doubt you will use a full tank of petrol if you are there for 7 days. Beware of being "upgraded" to a bigger car so therefore a bigger tank of petrol. Beware of English guys giving scratch cards especially outside the market where they say they are from the tourist board and wear a plausible identification tag. Your first scratch card will not be successful but your second will reveal three Suns and their star prize and they will then want to whisk you away in a taxi for a two hour presentation and it will be a mission to actually claim your prize. Remember, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!" Would certainly return to this hotel and the beautiful well kept resort.More
