This hotel has got the lot. A trio of pools ticks off rooftop and garden numbers, while the restaurants include a buffet place and an à la carte pool bar. The location aims high, too - it sits in a high-end postcode that comes with a beach.
Sitting in an upmarket corner of Tenerife, the Fanabe Costa Sur Hotel looks out over the sparkling sapphire seas. In fact, you’re just a short stroll down a steep slope from the honey-coloured sands of both Playa Fanabe and Playa del Duque. And there’s a sprinkling of shops, bars and restaurants even closer.
It’s not a big brash resort though. Far from it. Here, you’re at the heart of a restful residential area, where most of the 5 star hotels on the island congregate. From the moment you set eyes on the Fanabe though, you probably won’t want to venture far. Sat in gorgeous green grounds, you’re most definitely in for a treat here. You’ll know you’re onto a good thing as soon as you step into the lobby. Light, luminous and lavish, it’s a chic affair all round. We’re talking glossy marble floors. Oh-so inviting sofas. And floor-to-ceiling glass windows that overlook one of the eye-catching pool areas.
Talking of which, you’re totally spoilt for choice in the swimming stakes. With three pools to choose from, you’ll have to do the rounds before you decide on a favourite. If it’s jaw-dropping views you want, head for the roof terrace where two of the plunge pools live. Or for a truly tropical setting, there's the main pool sitting in the grounds, surrounded by exotic plants and swishing palms. Rather keep active? No problem. Keep up with your exercise routine at the fully equipped gym, which also offers aerobics lessons and massages. Join in the fun and games with the entertainment team. Or choose from an exhaustive list of sports that includes minigolf, tennis and football. However you work up an appetite, when you’re ready to eat the buffet restaurant offers up international favourites, with on-the-spot cooking stations a mainstay. There's also an a la carte lunchtime eatery by the pool, and you can tuck in to sandwiches at the lobby bar.
Full Board buffet meals - time restrictions apply. Late breakfasts 10.00-12.30.
Selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks - time restrictions apply.
Cakes and desserts 15.00-18.00. Sandwiches 21.00-23.00.
For buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with regular theme nights and show-cooking stations. In the summer months the restaurant opens at a later time of 7pm and closes at 10pm. Special dietary requirements can be catered for if you let reception know in advance. Gentlemen are required to wear long trousers and a shirt for dinner.
We stayed here as a couple in September. Check in went well then we went to our room and as it was our honeymoon the hotel left us a bottle of champane and chocolates which we thought was a nice touch. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable, nice flat screen tv and minibar. On the downside Towels are too small and if you have kids can be noisy at the front of the hotel untill 12pm as there are singers who perform there and we could hear it as we were in room 345 at the front.. We thought the hotel in general was very clean however the floor tiles altough clean alot were damaged and that includes the bedroom. Pool and the pool area was nice and the rooftop terrace is great and offers a great view of the area. I'm not sure what people are complaining about sunbed rush as there was lots of free beds although it maybe busyier july/august. The restaurant looked nice and offered lots of variety of food at dinner although breakfasts had the same things everyday. The staff are often freindly just the odd one looked like they didnt want to be there. The animation team for daytime activities are great and try there best special mention to usian bolt lookalike sorry don't know your name if your reading this! its steve by the way. Entertainent at night overall ok. Outside the hotel there's plenty of hills to walk around however we found if you walked up the hill next to burger king it was less steep. As for stuff to do outside the hotel Siam park is amazing went twice! The camel trip was fun special mention to Frankie tour guide he is very funny. mht great laugh. And do the Hardrock Cafe for dinner although its in las americas its well worth 8euros taxi trip or you can walk it down promenade in an hour.More

Just spent 11 nights at Fanabe Costa Sur. Loved every minute, only went bed and breakfast so can't comment on others meals but breakfast great, everything you would expect, omelette, fresh fruit, dinner room large so never felt too busy. The hotel is very clean, our room 182 overlooked the pool and was lovely, large beds, air con, cleaned every day and fresh towels. The pool was large and there's a great roof terrace with plunge pools which is quiet. The hotel was walking distance to all the bars and restaurant and there's plenty to do. Would defiantly return.More
Are all these people whom give negative ratings millionaires
Stayed here 4/9/14 for 14 nights we were a party of 4 ,having been on holiday every year abroad for 40 years we all found this hotel ace, staff ,meals rooms, all inclusive 5star the dining room staff were great nothing was to much for them bar staff worked there butts off keeping u well watered (as for the selection of drinks ) this hotel gave u a lot co paired to some we've stayed in ,the pool staff were great especially sam , he run the show night entertainment was great as was the shows abba, three tenors etc , I must conclude on the maids whom kept our rooms great work girls 10/10 here all in all the manager of this hotel should be a proud man how he runs this hotel ,as for all whom run it down ,you must have very expensive tastes in you're life and you must have a king/queen style way of life ,not an everyday working life, would diff go back , read a lot about wifi this was one thing that did let it down but we go on holiday to get away from thisMore
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel
Staff lovely and friendly, very helpful, hotel is spotlessly clean, can't praise cleaning staff enough. Was nice to have 4 English channels on TV. Location great though a bit of a hill on the way back to hotel from beach and main strip. Some lovely bars and restaurants, Harriet's tea rooms are fantastic with lovely home made meals and cakes and staff are so nice and friendly. The only downside was the room we had was 439 above the front of the hotel where the entertainment was on every night till 12 o'clock, very loud and the sound of traffic was very noisy most of the day from early morning. The roof top plunge pool and sunbathing area were wonderful, so peaceful and relaxing with fantastic views of the sea and mountains. We stayed bed and breakfast so can't really comment on food. Plenty of food available for breakfast. We would stay here again if we could get a poolside room. Don't understand the terrible reviews I have read on here, feel they are very unfair. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Fanabe costa sur.More

I have just returned from a two week holiday in the Fanabe Costa Sur Hotel,Costa Adele,Tenerife between 04/09/2014 and 18/09/2014 .I was with my wife and two friends who we have spent many holidays with over the last 15 years, having been to Tenerife previously but never to the Fanabe Costa Sur. We decided to try all inclusive and after reading various reviews we decided to try the Fanabe, there were the usual few negative reviews, however the good reviews out weighed the negative so we booked up and decided to see for ourselves and I am very glad that we did.
The hotel is first class, spotless being cleaned continuously by the very hard working staff who keep the rooms in tip top condition. The rooms were on the first floor and provided an outlook over the large swimming pool area. Our room had a very large double bed, large ward robe with plenty room for clothing, numerous drawers and a flat screen television with BBC,ITV,CH4,SKY news etc. There was a hair dryer provided within the bathroom that contained a bidet,2,wash basins a bath and shower all of which were again kept immaculate by the maids with towels changed daily. There was a fridge and a safe, the safe was a mere 25 Euros for the 2 week period with a refund of 10 Euros on check out !
The food available in the dining area was for a hotel of this capacity excellent, the choices available at breakfast, lunch, and evening meal times were absolutely superb. The food was simply first class and as stated the variety was amazing with something for everyone at anytime. There was also a selection of salad, hot dogs and hamburgers available at the pool side bar throughout the afternoons,oh and cakes and ice cream should you happen to feel peckish !
I had read comments about the food not being good and being served by staff who appeared grumpy, this certainly was NEVER the case with us,at ALL times the food was of a high standard and the staff were truly excellent and a credit to the hotel, special mention to Maria who was a joy and a pure asset to the hotel.
Entertainment again was excellent, the team lead by Sam provided games and entertainment for any age group ranging from kids to adult and Sam once again was a credit to the hotel and an asset, his humor and energy was to be admired.
Last but not least evening entertainment, again Sam and the team were largely involved arranging shows with various artists who performed in the hotel between about 2145hrs and 2245hs,the 3 tenors are not to be missed.
The highlight for myself and my party was the outside entertainments, this was ongoing every evening from about 1900hrs until 2330hrs at the front of the hotel. This entertainment consisted of background music performed by 4 different artists on various nights, however one in particular stood head and shoulders above anything i have heard and I have to make special mention of Justo.
Justo plays acoustic guitar and sings, however this man can really play the guitar and treated the large crowd whenever he performed to everything from classical music to Dire Straits ,Pink Floyd,Eric Clapton etc etc he was accompanied on a couple of occasions by the energetic Sam on air drums, which was hilarious !
I think by my review any reader will realise that we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fanabe Costa Sur,we will definately return at some point, even if it is just to hear Justo treat his captive audience !
Thank you to all staff at the Fanabe Costa Sur for making our holiday one of the best ever and to anyone reading this review do not hesitate to book this hotel you will have no regrets.More
