This hotel has got the lot. A trio of pools ticks off rooftop and garden numbers, while the restaurants include a buffet place and an à la carte pool bar. The location aims high, too - it sits in a high-end postcode that comes with a beach.
Sitting in an upmarket corner of Tenerife, the Fanabe Costa Sur Hotel looks out over the sparkling sapphire seas. In fact, you’re just a short stroll down a steep slope from the honey-coloured sands of both Playa Fanabe and Playa del Duque. And there’s a sprinkling of shops, bars and restaurants even closer.
It’s not a big brash resort though. Far from it. Here, you’re at the heart of a restful residential area, where most of the 5 star hotels on the island congregate. From the moment you set eyes on the Fanabe though, you probably won’t want to venture far. Sat in gorgeous green grounds, you’re most definitely in for a treat here. You’ll know you’re onto a good thing as soon as you step into the lobby. Light, luminous and lavish, it’s a chic affair all round. We’re talking glossy marble floors. Oh-so inviting sofas. And floor-to-ceiling glass windows that overlook one of the eye-catching pool areas.
Talking of which, you’re totally spoilt for choice in the swimming stakes. With three pools to choose from, you’ll have to do the rounds before you decide on a favourite. If it’s jaw-dropping views you want, head for the roof terrace where two of the plunge pools live. Or for a truly tropical setting, there's the main pool sitting in the grounds, surrounded by exotic plants and swishing palms. Rather keep active? No problem. Keep up with your exercise routine at the fully equipped gym, which also offers aerobics lessons and massages. Join in the fun and games with the entertainment team. Or choose from a list of sports that includes minigolf and football. However you work up an appetite, when you’re ready to eat the buffet restaurant offers up international favourites, with on-the-spot cooking stations a mainstay. There's also an à la carte lunchtime eatery by the pool, and you can tuck in to sandwiches at the lobby bar.

Nice hotel if you don't expect it to be ideal
We went on our honeymoon in July '14 for a week.Decided to go for AI because of the special occasion. The first impression of the place was good. The room was very clean.Though instead of double bed we've got 2 singles. When we asked the staff at the reception to sort this out, they gave us a choice either to change our room, which was on the 4th floor, to the one that was on the 1st (with obviously no worthwhile view) or to cover the two beds with a blanket to make the gap less annoying (sounds funny, but that was not a big deal for us). We chose the 2nd option. SERVICES. My biggest issue with this hotel was their additional services.I went to get massage one of the days. The lady didn't really speak English so it was not easy to explain what I wanted (which was the usual back massage). She tried her best but I couldn't relax. It's just those little things, there was a problem with a CD player and then, because of all this misunderstanding, she attempted to do the whole body massage so I had to ask her again just to do my back.Another service that I've tried was manicure which was not professional either. But I'd like to say a big thank you to the cleaning stuff of this hotel - the room and, especially bathroom, were shiny every day! FOOD AND DRINKS. We were really impressed with the variety of meals they served three times a day. They were really TASTY! Though ALL the free cocktails from the AI menu were literally DISGUSTING. Just coloured water with lots of ice. Moreover, bartenders went to the kitchen and always mixed them behind the closed doors. Though the ones that you pay for (around 5-7 EUR) - they would make in front of you. SWIMMING POOL. There were 3 sw. pools: the big one on the ground floor and 2 smaller ones on the roof. We haven't got a chance to use the big one because of the "nice" people who'd put their towels on a sun-bed and go to the bar, etc (though the hotel rules forbid to do that). So if you want to swim in a big sw. pool - get up at 7 a.m. and rush downstairs:) LOCATION. It is great. 5 mins to the beach and a big variety of shops and restaurants. Though it was painful to get into the water (which was quite chilly) 'cause the underwater surface was covered with pretty nasty stones. There is another beach in 15 mins walk. We are really relaxed people so in general we've enjoyed the holiday. The nature of Tenerife is breathtaking: volcanoes, forests, and many worthwhile activities to do and that's what really matters:)More
An enjoyable stay
My wife and I stayed at the Fenabe sur, a 4 star hotel in Tenerife, for a weeks holiday, 10th to 17th. March 2015, we found the hotel to be worthy of its 4star rating. This hotel had a heated swimming pool which we enjoyed. The management was very obliging to our requests. The room was large and well laid out..their was a good attached bathroom. We stayed half board. The food choice and quality was excellent. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.More

A Good Hotel
My husband and myself had 5 days at this hotel in March, after reading the revieiws we had mixed feelings about our stay, however we had a lovely stay and will definitely return. Check in is friendly and efficient. The rooms are fine and very clean. The outside areas are well maintained and we loved the rooftop pool, they had live entertainment -a band and singers around the main pool in the afternoons which we enjoyed. The food was very good, we love fish and there was lots of variety of fish each evening, also lots of show cooking (always a nice touch).Breakfast again very good, omlette station etc, plenty of fruit so again no complaints.Overall we found the hotel very good value for money.More

Good location, good quality hotel
We had a top floor junior suite which was excellent, large well equipped room, king size bed, whirlpool bath, and large private balcony. Room spotlessly clean as was rest of hotel. Buffet breakfast was very good, huge selection and all very tasty and good quality. We were bed and breakfast only, not sure how they woould cope for evening meals as hotel was very busy, you will have to check other reviews. Roof top terrace was very peaceful, no kids and roof top bar made it very relaxing, also free pool towels changed daily. Location close to other good restauraunts and bars, we thouroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this hotel.More

Normally we stay at one of the GF sister hotels further up the road (Costa Adeje Gran) & this holiday proves the saying "You get what you pay for" as there was absolutely no comparison and in hindsight should have paid the £200/300 per person per week more but lesson learnt as they say! The majority of staff could well do with some customer service training as despite our polite approach it was rare to be met with a smile or a thank you and we found this particularly true of the dining room staff - a dining experience I would not wish to repeat! The tables for breakfast were not laid up with cutlery which you had to collect for yourself along with your food & cheap, nasty, paper thin serviettes. Each table was so close to the other there was no room between and a private, quiet conversation was out of the question! Plenty of choice for dinner so we never went hungry but not the best quality particularly the meat selection. We had e-mailed the hotel prior to arriving to ask for a high floor room in a quiet part of the hotel and to their credit we were allocated a room on the top floor undisturbed by the entertainment noise and had peaceful neighbours thankfully. The rooftop sunbathing area was very good as got the sun all day but agree with a previous reviewer that the sunbed mattresses were dirty and have seen better days. The Fanabe is pretty central for everything whether you want a walk round the local area or jump on one of the many local buses just outside the hotel and are reasonably priced. It may well be that we have been thoroughly spoiled over the years by the Adeje Gran`s service and style and for this reason we will not be returning but if you want a basic holiday in a pretty central, clean hotel then this will fit the bill.More
