Fanabe Costa Sur Hotel

This hotel has got the lot. A trio of pools ticks off rooftop and garden numbers, while the restaurants include a buffet place and an à la carte pool bar. The location aims high, too - it sits in a high-end postcode that comes with a beach.

Sitting in an upmarket corner of Tenerife, the Fanabe Costa Sur Hotel looks out over the sparkling sapphire seas. In fact, you’re just a short stroll down a steep slope from the honey-coloured sands of both Playa Fanabe and Playa del Duque. And there’s a sprinkling of shops, bars and restaurants even closer.

It’s not a big brash resort though. Far from it. Here, you’re at the heart of a restful residential area, where most of the 5 star hotels on the island congregate. From the moment you set eyes on the Fanabe though, you probably won’t want to venture far. Sat in gorgeous green grounds, you’re most definitely in for a treat here. You’ll know you’re onto a good thing as soon as you step into the lobby. Light, luminous and lavish, it’s a chic affair all round. We’re talking glossy marble floors. Oh-so inviting sofas. And floor-to-ceiling glass windows that overlook one of the eye-catching pool areas.

Talking of which, you’re totally spoilt for choice in the swimming stakes. With three pools to choose from, you’ll have to do the rounds before you decide on a favourite. If it’s jaw-dropping views you want, head for the roof terrace where two of the plunge pools live. Or for a truly tropical setting, there's the main pool sitting in the grounds, surrounded by exotic plants and swishing palms. Rather keep active? No problem. Keep up with your exercise routine at the fully equipped gym, which also offers aerobics lessons and massages. Join in the fun and games with the entertainment team. Or choose from an exhaustive list of sports that includes minigolf, tennis and football. However you work up an appetite, when you’re ready to eat the buffet restaurant offers up international favourites, with on-the-spot cooking stations a mainstay. There's also an a la carte lunchtime eatery by the pool, and you can tuck in to sandwiches at the lobby bar.

a great holiday

Just returned from a great holiday. The hotel is clean and tidy although in areas a little worn. Our room was cleaned every day and towels changed daily. Room are spacious and comfortable. A great choice of food always plenty of choice staff were all friendly and helpful. Roof area is best for sunbathing as only half of poolside gets the sun and chairs are really close together. Beach is 5 mins walk going downhill very steep when walking back aftercare day on beach. I would recommend this hotel and hope to go back soon.More

Fantastic hotel

Ignore the negative reviews on here, this is a fantastic hotel which i would recommend to any good people looking for a quality holiday at a fair price. We e mailed the wonderful Klaudia before arriving asking for a sea view room. She gave us 475 which has fantastic views and gets the sun all afternoon. The balcony has a power socket which is handy and something i haven't see before. Their is a fridge which not all hotels provide and the mirror on one wall almost covers the whole wall. The food is really good and varied, ask for a table either 'outside' or in the 'conservatory' which are both quieter. Men are not allowed into the dining room in the evening in shorts and it's good to see this hotel actually enforces this rule. If you like wearing a football top when you go out in the evening this is not a hotel for you. We never went to the entertainment downstairs or in the reception when it was held inside. When it was on outside it was a lovely place to sit and listen to music with the bar prices being reasonable. It is unusual to have a seated area stretching from the reception outside the front rather than out to the pool area like most hotels. This turns out to be very useful on the last day while waiting on your coach to come. All the staff are very friendly and efficient. If you are reading this because you have booked up to come here then you have made a wise choice.More

lovelly hotel

we stayed at this hotel 4 years ago and it has been updated since. Its beautifully maintained and cleaned the food is well cooked and varied and the staff are very attentive , friendly and the outside waiters/ waitresses especially. they remember what drinks you like and your room number and even though very busy are quick and friendly. the singers performing on the outside sitting area were all very good and the acts performing downstairs in the disco were varied for everyones taste. we especially enjoyed the 3 tenors and "beatles" nights we stayed for 11 nights and wished we had booked for longer. we had a room on the 1st floor overlooking the pool and it was very large and we had the sun all day. the hotel is very central in Adeje for the shops bars and restaurants and you can book trips just across the road ( a bit cheaper than thomsons!) theres also a shop in the complex across the road that has lots of "disney" presents for the kids/ grandkids and the hotel also has 2 good shops that are competative pricewise and also have jewellry stalls in the lobby each day selling lovelly things.More

Nice hotel

It is very friendly family oriented hotel. Plenty to do, 3 pools, main one and 2 pools on the roof for people who are looking for more quiet environment. Food was OK, nothing majorly special but large variety and something for everyone. Hotel is near to main resort, shops, bars and beach. Very nice holiday, nothing to complain about. It is a big hotel and quite busy, good for families but also plenty of privacy for couple or for romantic break.More

lovely hotel

Just back from a week all inclusive.Very good value for money at this 4star hotel.Hotel very clean throughout, the staff work very hard and always friendly. We joined the gfhotels.com before we went and on emailing the hotel to request a quiet room on a high floor,we had a free upgrade to a suite with basket of fruit, chocolates, bottled water and a voucher for 2 drinks.WiFi is free and seemed to work in lots of places around the hotel.I had wifi in the room and roof terrace. ROOM. Our suite(386)was very large with separate bedroom area with wide screen tv,huge bathroom with double sinks, large Jacuzzi bath, only hand held shower fitting,no shower, and 2 bath robes.Sofa bed, table and chairs wide screen tv with some English channels and fridge. DINNING ROOM Large area with conservatory on one side and outdoor area on other.Tables very close together especially the tables for 2.Drink orders are taken when seated at lunch and dinner. You can have glass or bottle of wine which was ok.Good selection at all meals with fresh meat and fish cooked fresh on cooking stations.Lovely selection of desserts,my favorite.Staff very efficient at all times. ENTERTAINMENT This was situated in the seating area outside the front of hotel or in hotel lobby area with bar serving you drinks.Starts from around 7.30pm.Also another area down stairs in the disco, where they held the childrens discos and live shows afterwards. POOL Lovely area with plenty of sun beds, all with comfy padded covers. No reserving beds so no slamming of bedroom doors early in mornings with people rushing out .One side of the pool doesnt really get the sun neither does one side of the hotel, our room had no sun on balcony at all.The bar is good with plenty seating area.A separate room for all inclusive snacks, make your own sandwiches and icecream available throughout the day.Water is served by bottle so handy to take to your room and you can even get a bottle of wine from pool bar to take to your room. ROOF TERRACE This is just lovely, large area with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas.2 plunge pools, showers and separate screened nudist area.Bar serving all drinks.Beautiful views over resort and mountains. RESORT Large resort with plenty shops, bars and restaurants.A walk along promanade which runs for miles, all lined in shops, bars and restaurants and only a short walk down from hotel.A walk to Playas de las Americas takes around 20mins,A market is held next to the hotel on Thursdays and Saturdays.Bus stop and taxi rank outside hotel. Transfer from airport should take around 35mins by coach but we were last drop off with 7 stops so took over an hour.Taxi takes 20mins at cost of around 21euro. I would recommend this hotel in such a good area.More
