One of the best hotels I have stayed at. The bedrooms are large and spacious and the beda are huge and comfortable. Staff are lovely. We only had breakfast in our package but it was delicious. Would definitely return!More
Average Hotel, definitely more the 3* it was, definitely not 4* as yet
We stayed here for 10 nights in July. We believe that it was a 3* at some point due to the branding on the balcony door and in all honesty this is all it still is. It is very tired and dated in most places, there were marks all up the wall as we walked into the room, furniture is a bit battered and overall the bathrooms and rooms are all in need of some serious modernisation. Saying this, the staff are very friendly, the children are well catered for and the food is plentiful and there was always lots of choice. The restaurant is also dated but there is a nice outdoor section off to the left which made it more enjoyable. The location is very good, with a 10-15min walk to the better beach of Del Duque and the resort is certainly the best one compared to the neighbouring ones. The Animation team work tirelessly and a special shout out goes to Chris and Camilla who really made our son's holiday. He still hasn't stopped chatting about them! I really feel that they have photographed the hotel exceptionally well and it certainly was a disappointment upon our arrival that it didnt live up to our expectations. Maybe we have been spoilt in the past as many others have nothing negative to say about this hotel but if you are expecting 4* luxury then this isn't the place for you. Although it was family friendly in the amount of activities laid on for the children, it certainly isn't if you have very young children and want them to be asleep before 11pm. We had a 1st floor room overlooking the main pool area. In the evening, there was entertainment at the front of the hotel which went on for a few hours, then the mini disco 8:30-9:30 (held in a lower ground disused hotel nightclub which smelt damp and wasn't a pleasant place to spend an evening, knowing how beautiful it was outside!) and then as soon as that finished there was entertainment blaring by the pool from 21:45-11pm, which the majority of the time was just noise and very rowdy. We spent two days at Siam Water park which was incredible, and once inside you can purchase a 2nd day at 50% which has to be used within 15 days. The Tourist Train was exceptionally expensive at 28 euros for a family of four considering all it did was drop as off at Des Americas, we could stay for an hour then had to return on the train. There is an excellent supermarket across the road from the hotel which is very reasonable and we used a lot for lunch supplies! We stayed half board, from what we saw of the AI offering this is something we are glad we didn't pay extra for. We also noticed that unlike some all inclusive hotels we have been too, very few quality alcoholic drinks were included and if you wished to have anything of decent quality you would incur a surcharge. I was also put off paying money for a cocktail when i spotted shelves of barrels containing pre mixed cocktails mixtures!!!! Overall this isn't a classy hotel, its a very good 3* which needs to be improved to warrant its 4* status. Nevertheless, we had a fabulous holiday and the children enjoyed themselves thanks to the Animation Team but if returning to the same resort we would look to stay at the sister hotel Costa Adeje Gran or one by Del Duque beach which in hindsight were probably more the types of hotels we are used too.More
Cant fault hotel its a little tierd in places but its location is excellent and the place was spotless. We mainly used the upstairs area which was a little quieter. Meals were great i never went hungry seemed to be plenty to choose from More
Very basic - Won't be returning
This is our second visiting GF Hotels, last year we stopped in the Costa Adeje Gran and it was beautiful couldn't fault it in the slightest. This year we decided on the Fanabe last minute as the hotel we were meant to be going to had a nearby renovation. Rooms: Very clean and maids are in daily BUT only 1 plug socket! This causes issues if you are wanting to charge your phone/ tablets, use hair dryers etc. A couple we met took an extension lead and I would definitely recommend. Pool: Very small considering the amount of people in the hotel. Pool doesn't open until 9am which is good as this means you don't need to get up in the crack of dawn to reserve sunbeds. Restaurant: Food is Ok. I would say it's more 3* standard, we were all inclusive and only ate lunch twice and ate in the restaurant on an evening twice as when we went in it was the same food type of food as the day before. Very basic. Staff: Miserable. One woman with red curly hair (works at the bar near the main reception) was so rude she slammed a glass so hard on the bar I don't know how it didn't smash. Attitude of 90% of the staff is disgusting would say out of all the staff in the hotel 2 of them where friendly. We will not be returning to this hotel - Its true what they say.... You get what you pay for.More
Good family hotel
The hotel is geared to families. We stayed one week at Fanabe Del Sur to attend a family wedding which was held in another hotel. The hotel staff are exceptional. They approach every task and every person with a smile and professional appearance. I would like to mention Gustav who is a waiter in the front outside bar and also in the restaurant. His pleasant demeanor is great to see and his dancing on the dance floor a sight to remember. A perfect example of how a top class waiter provides a professional service with a smile. Well done! The restaurant was crowded, as was to be expected in school holidays, but the food was exceptional for catering for such numbers. We had taken advantage of the all-inclusive wrist band. It was very worthwhile even though we ate out on several occasions. The rooms were modern and spotlessly clean. The facilities provided suited a family holiday with lots to do for the children. I have no problem recommending this hotel. Remember if you stay during school holidays it will be very busy.More
