We visited this hotel May 14th-21st for the first time. Initial impressions were good, easy check in and the room was large, balcony looking out at the pool and mountains in the distance. Bathroom was also large, clean and had a bath and shower.
We intended to use the roof top terrace all week but it was excellent around the pool and as a result we spent most days there.
We stayed All-Inclusive and have to say we thought the food was excellent, loads of choice and live cooking stations as well. There is a range of nationalities staying in the hotel and to cater for everyone is clearly a challenge they excel at.
Praise must also go to the staff who seem to work very long hours but everyone was hard working and I couldn't fault any of them. Rooms were cleaned daily, animation team worked very hard morning till late evening and the bar and waitress staff were all very efficient.
As an added surprise it was my wife's birthday and a bottle of champagne was left in a bucket of ice when we returned to our room which was a lovely touch.
My wife and I really can't understand the negativity of some reviews on here but the best endorsement we can give is that we will be returning to the hotel next year.More
Enjoyable family holiday
I have recently returned from a weeks stay in the hotel fañabe Costa sur, and overall am pleased with the quality of the holiday for myself, husband and young children. We were greeted with a warm welcome on reception and had only a short wait until our room was ready. The restaurant generally catered for a variety of needs with a good quality of food, however I would not recommend staying all inclusive for more than 1 week as the food is rather repetitive, as I have found is the case with most hotel food! The swimming pool has a great atmosphere, is lovely and warm which is always a bonus, and although I didn't spend much time up there myself due to my children's needs, I hear the rooftop terrace is excellent. With regards to the entertainment, my children spent several afternoons in the mini club which was very welcoming, they particularly liked Gemma (who was also from England) who they met towards the end of the holiday. She always had a big smile and really boosted my sons confidence! We didn't really see much of the evening entertainment due to the children being tired by 7pm, but the one live musician we did see was a little depressing for our holiday spirit. There are many bars and restaurants in the area itself and the beach is a 5 minute walk away (which does involve a hill). Overall a good holiday and would probably return.More

we've been to this hotel twice. Hotel was very clean and the rooftop pool area was very quite. There is a train outside the hotel that will take a tour of cost adeje and las Americas - we went at night and got soaked by sprinklers on the grass! I would not recommend this hotel for someone with mobility difficulties who wants to go out the hotel and explore surrounding areas due a VERY steep hill. All in all this is a great hotel and would recommend to othersMore
We have just spent another week at the fanabe sur. Yes it was another great week ,the levels of service were still. As good as our last visit ( October 14 ) we singled out Veira then and we do it again for his great interaction with the guests , there are many other members of staff who are still there as well .
We asked for a high room with a sea view , we got 429 which has both ,it also overlooks the public car park which doubles up as the market site on Thursday and Saturday . The balcony catches the evening sun and you can sit out until after 8 pm which is handy as the pool and roof terrace close at 6 pm .
The food is still very good ,with the show cooking and vegetarian making a great combination .
The cleanliness is excellent.
The wifi is still not great ,however it it much improved since the last visit. Also there has been the addition of two pools suitable for children and an improved play area along with additional sun loungers .
We still recommend this hotel and look forward to our next visit .More
