If you like getting out and about on holiday, the adults-only Colon Guanahani Hotel is perfect. The property is less than a five-minute walk from a sandy, crescent-shaped bay, and the smart shops and restaurants in Playa Fanabé.
The hotel itself is really smart. It’s made up of tall, colonial-style buildings that are painted in a rich terracotta colour, and come with grand-looking windows with floor-to-ceiling glass panels. The whole complex is edged by tropical gardens and glossy palm trees, and, at the centre of it all, there are two huge saltwater swimming pools.
Another big talking point is the hotel’s spa. It’s a tranquil space that features a sauna and a string of massage cabins, and you can book in for anti-stress packages if you really want to unwind.
When it comes to dining, there’s an à la carte restaurant serving up tasty around-the-world favourites. It’s got a large outdoor terrace, too, so you can enjoy your meals in the fresh air.

I have seen in a post written by the management that the hotel will be closed in May, June and July. We have already booked a room in this period (July) and we were wondering how should we proceed in this case. We have already paid a part of the money and we are scared to lose our honeymoon.. Can you please let us know as soon as possible if the hotel will be closed and what shall we do in this case? Thank you in advance "GM_Adrian_Hoteles, Director General at Colon Guanahani - Adrian Hoteles, responded to this review, 3 weeks ago Thank you very much for your kind comment about your stay with us. We are glad to know that you enjoyed your second visit with us. Yes, we can confirm that we will close the hotel in May, June and July to refurbish the rooms. You did not see any children, as the hotel is an only adult hotel since November 2013. To change lunch with dinner is a good option if you don't like eating dinner too much of if you prefer to eat out some nights. One just has to contact reception for it. We hope to see you again in the future and assure you our best services at all times. Kind regards, the Management. "More

Another wonderful holiday
My wife and I have recently returned from our third trip to this hotel and the number of returning guests says it all. The standards set by this hotel remain as high as ever with the setting, especially the pool area, being extremely relaxing-no problems in getting a sunbed at any time of day. The staff, especially those in the dining room, could not be more friendly and helpful and the hotel is kept spotlessly clean. If you are looking for a smaller hotel than some of those in the resort I would fully recommend that you try the Colon Guanahani.More

Brilliant holiday once again
We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. Our last visit was January/February 2014. We spent 3 weeks and had a most relaxing break. The standard of this hotel is very high. The friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness of all areas of the hotel, and of course the food is excellent. It is now an adult only hotel, which appeals to us. The location of the hotel also suits us, as you can walk into La Caleta, Los Cristianos or catch the local bus from outside the hotel and explore the island. Thank you once again staff for a most enjoyable holiday and we will see you in November. Ken & MairMore

First Visit to the hotel.
My Wife and I stayed at this hotel in January this year we were looking for a winter break in the sun. This hotel has a quiet relaxed atmosphere which suited us well. The hotel staff were very helpful and efficient. We were able to get the room we requested overlooking the pool. The room was clean and a reasonable size with bath and walk in shower which was particularly important. The restaurant provided good food with plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner. The entertainment was restricted to singing or musical acts which we enjoyed. This was not well patronised indicative perhaps of the age of the clientele and that the hotel is restricted to adults only. There was plenty of space around the pools. We can see why many people pay return visits and we propose to come back next winter. atronised indicative perhaps of the age of the clientele whilst we were thereMore

Brillliant small hotel
This is our second year and the thing we noticed is how many people like us returned from last year. Its so friendly, the service is excellent, food very good, rooms clean and of reasonable size. All toiletries, bathrobes, slippers included in package as are pool towels which you can change daily. Choice at breakfast and dinner is excellent and the midday snacks are filling and competitively priced. British TV channels in every room. The only downside if you want a lively evening in the hotel. No one tends to watch the entertainment put on every evening -don't know why some good singing and music acts! There are bars etc within about 100m so you do have to go out. Don't think you can blame the hotel for this.More
