Colon Guanahani Hotel

This grand hotel gives you three pools and a setting just 5-minutes’ walk from the beach.

This place was given a makeover in 2014. It has a grand, colonial feel and is edged by tropical gardens, at the centre of which lie two huge pools. And it’s less than a 5-minute walk from a sandy bay and the smart shops and restaurants in Playa Fanabé.

Breakfast and dinner are covered in the buffet restaurant, while lunch comes courtesy of the pool bar. Both have large terraces so you can eat outside. The massage menu in the spa is well worth a look, too.

Booked this as a surprise for my partner. From the moment we stepped in the hotel it was a great experience. Reception staff were fantastic and a lovely cold glass of prosecco was much appreciated. I had booked a standard room but was upgraded to a superior. The room was fantastic clean, bright and modern. The bathroom was very good with an excellent shower and loads of space and toiletries. As we were getting ready Togo to the pool a waiter turned up with a basket of fruit and a very good bottle of Cava. I explained we had not ordered it but was told it was on the house. (People often say I look like David Beckham) We then went up to the rooftop pool which is surrounded by loungers and lovely Moroccan style furniture. It really is very nice. An attentive waiter brought us a couple of Cana's (small beers) not bad for €2.50 each in a hotel of this standard. The pool area is spotless and very vey cool. Then back to our lovely too to get changed via a little sleep on our rather splendid terrace. Towels are provided for the pool and sunbathing. The hotel is wonderful, the staff professional and the breakfast most agreeable. For £106 for one night with breakfast at a place as nice as this I will go back for sure.More

Perfect and peaceful !

This was our first time in Tenerife and we certainly picked the right hotel, located in the lovely area of Costa Adeje which had come to us recommended. The hotel had lovely rooms quiet and facing away from the road junction it sits on. The pool area was immaculate and very comfortable to be around particularly as this is an adults only hotel. The pool restaurant also served a good choice of meals /snacks for lunchtime, as well as opening some evenings as a speciality restaurant. We went on bed and breakfast option as we wanted to get out and about in the evenings and the breakfasts had plenty of choice including cava ! The staff were approachable and friendly and there was always something going on in the evenings - singers, musicianship, flamenco dancers etc All in all a great holiday in a great hotel in a great area. We will be back !More

Another Great Stay

Recently back from our second stay at the fantastic Colon Guanahani. We were there for 10 nights and really enjoyed every minute. This time we had a superior room which was great, had everything you need and really well decorated. The choice at breakfast was very varied and tasty. Its an adults only hotel, very quite and relaxing during the day on really comfy sunbeds, found no problem at all getting a lounger. Great sunbathing area's and good heated pools. If you want a lively hotel, then it's probably not for you. We only stayed B&B as there are plenty of good restaurants and bars in the area . Finally a big mention and thank you to all the fantastic staff , who are really friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome during your stay. Would consider this hotel our number 1 choice in Costa AdejeMore

Wow - amazing stay at the Colon Guanahani

This was our second stay, the first one being a few years back, prior to its recent refurb. We had a fab stay then and an even better stay this time. The Reception staff were fantastic, extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly, which was really good as we arrived later than planned. The room was gorgeous, very clean, modern and spacious and there was a basket of fruit and a lovely bottle of fizz waiting for us - very nice. The bathroom was very good, we were initially disappointed when there wasn't a bath but we needn't have been because the shower was amazing, big and spacious, with the added benefit of a seat -once in, you didn't want to come out. There was lots of space for toiletries. The rooftop pool is a must and perfect for the more serious sunbather - plenty extra comfortable sunbeds, with Moroccon style rocking chairs around the pool and the pool area is spotless and very very cool. Everyone is provided with two towels for the pool and sunbathing, on of which is fitted so it stays put on your bed. We stayed on a B&B basis, and breakfast out on the terrace was the perfect way to start the day. The menu was good - with lots of choice. It was my hubby's birthday whilst we were there and again, they left another bottle of bubbly and a card - lovely surprise. The hotel is wonderful, the staff are so friendly and you always get service with a smile. We would definitely recommend it and we can't wait to go back :)More

Well, it's been said many times and it's true..........

We had great hopes for this hotel and it delivered! From check in to check out, our stay was a complete pleasure. On arrival to a very busy Reception, we were dealt with immediately and although our room wasn’t yet ready, we were offered some lovely chilled Cava while waiting. The staff are extremely professional but also very friendly and you really feel they want you to have a good experience. Our room was on the 4th floor with a lovely view over the pool area and the sea beyond. It was spotless and very well serviced throughout our stay. We stayed B&B and enjoyed breakfast every day – the choice suits all tastes and is so vast, we looked forward to it every day – excellently served by the very pleasant restaurant staff at all times, all food, juices etc. were replenished promptly, their attention to detail was excellent. Next time, we may book half board as the evening menus looked great. We also enjoyed several lunches in the poolside bar. Location wise, the hotel is in a great place, only a short walk away from the “strip” but totally tranquil and a real oasis in the buzz of a busy area. Being adults only was a plus for us and we really appreciated the calmness around during the day, to such an extent that our ventures out were far and few between. I’m already thinking about a return to this great hotel, which is no surprise as most guests have been several times before – always a good sign. Also, we really appreciated the efforts by the pool staff to remove towels from "kept" sunbeds. Most hotels advertise that they don't tolerate it, but almost all ignore the bad manners of people who choose the "best beds" and then leave them empty most of the congratulations to Guanahani in tackling this head on but in a courteous and polite way. So, thank you to all the staff at Hotel Colon Guanahani, we had the best time staying at your very special hotel and we look forward to a return visit . Keep doing what you are doing…’s working :-)More
