Colon Guanahani Hotel

This grand hotel gives you 2 huge pools and a setting just 5 minutes’ walk from the beach.

This place has a grand, colonial feel. It’s edged by tropical gardens, at the centre of which lie 2 huge pools. And it’s less than a 5-minute walk from a sandy bay and the smart shops and restaurants in Playa Fanabé.

Breakfast and dinner are covered in the buffet restaurant, while lunch comes courtesy of the pool bar. Both have large terraces so you can eat outside. The massage menu in the spa is well worth a look, too.

A holiday par excellence

Just returned from two weeks of bliss and tranquility. We booked half board and were not disappointed. We had an excellent room close to all of the hotel amenities. With two main pools heated to body temperature you could not go wrong. The hotel is ideally situated for walks and the shops and is kept immaculately clean. The hotel is only rated 4 star but my wife and I rated it higher at at least 5 star. Perfect Hotel.

we had the pleasure of staying here the last week of October. It was our third visit and there will be many more to follow. The hotel is immaculate and the staff are the friendliest and happiest you'll find. We were on half board and the food was excellent and varied. We are returning in April and can't wait.More

Perfect hotel for couples...

My husband and I stayed here in October for a week to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is beautiful, carefully designed to make the most of every area. The hotel was busy with various nationalities however it always felt quite intimate, and quite rightly I can understand why so many return year after year. Check in was smooth with a drink presented whilst a bags were taken to our room. We upgraded to a pool view superior room which was worth the extra cost. The room was perfect for our needs and the bathroom very luxurious. All the pools (two on the ground floor and one jacuzzi on the roof) were very nice and warm. Roof terrace very quiet and peaceful but downside is there are no drinks available. The hotel is spotlessly clean. We went half board and found all the food to be of a high standard. The breakfast and dinner was buffet with an option to order a main meal to be served to the table. I found this a little strange and would have preferred either buffet or fully waitered but nevertheless enjoyed all the food. On half board the evening meal could be changed to lunch if you preferred with notice to reception beforehand. We often ate lunch at the pool bar and have to say had some of the best hotel food I've ever eaten here. Everything from paella to salads was perfect. Evening entertainment varied throughout the week with acrobats, flamenco, many singers and best of all a mariachi band (fantastic, wish we had seen more). All the staff were very helpful and courteous, but a special mention to Damaris who was always happy to see us. The location of the hotel was great, with easy access to the beach and shops. The hotel is only too happy to arrange tours also. My husband had lived on Tenerife previously for sixteen years so knows the island well and commented on how impressed he was with the hotel (a huge compliment in itself). We would and already have recommended this hotel to others.More

Lovely hotel

This is a lovely small child free hotel. The food is lovely the show cooking means the food is freshly cooked not sitting in hot trays. Pool is warm and quiet with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. The staff are lovely friendly and helpful a credit to the hotel. And for the first time ever we were asked personally by a member of staff before we left the hotel if we had enjoyed our stay and any comments we had good or bad. Will definitely be backMore
