This grand hotel gives you 2 huge pools and a setting just 5 minutes’ walk from the beach.
This place has a grand, colonial feel. It’s edged by tropical gardens, at the centre of which lie 2 huge pools. And it’s less than a 5-minute walk from a sandy bay and the smart shops and restaurants in Playa Fanabé.
Breakfast and dinner are covered in the buffet restaurant, while lunch comes courtesy of the pool bar. Both have large terraces so you can eat outside. The massage menu in the spa is well worth a look, too.
Just returned from another holiday in this wonderful, child free hotel. Small, quiet and definitely friendly. Recently fully re-furbished with superb facilities. Rooms are excellent. Food delicious, varied and plentiful. Staff informative and attentive. Five stars from a four star hotel.More

October holiday in this excellent, stylish hotel
This was my first solo holiday outside the uk for 19 years. This hotel was recommended by my independent travel agent. A truly excellent, excellent hotel all round, for the price. The staff were so friendly on my arrival, and continued so during my 10 night stay. Immaculately clean room and hotel, peaceful quiet days by the pool, enjoying evening meals under the moon and stars accompanied by first class musical entertainment and a warm Spanish breeze. The various personalities of the warm and very friendly restaurant staff was an entertainment in itself.
All my enquires re: the resort were calmly and helpfully answered, and nothing seemed any trouble for any staff member. The guests, mainly non-English couples, all seemed to enjoy their time there, and some were repeat visitors.
Yes, I will long remember my most enjoyable time at the hotel colon guanahani, and intend to stay there again sometime in the future.

Look forward to going back
After extensive browsing and reading reviews of many of the hotels in that area this hotel seemed to be a good choice and after spending a week there it defiantly made the grade.
The visit to the hotel that week was for a special birthday and the hotel not only made the week
A wonderful stay but the day in question very special at no extra cost with champagne, chocolates and a small card to the room.
This is the third visit to this area this year and this hotel has exceeded expectations and we can't wait to return.More
Pre arrival service - all queries were responded to promptly.
Check in - fast and efficient with welcome drink too.
Room - nice and modern, lovely large balcony with our own loungers. Entrance to room faces road but was quiet once internal door was closed. Balcony faced pool. Shower was fabulous, quite rare to have power showers in the Med, made washing my long hair a pleasure rather than a chore. Safe automatically included, as is wifi.
Breakfast - great choice, extensive too. Staff friendly and always greeted with friendly morning.
Entertainment - we went to the seafront each evening for dinner and cocktails, so didn't actually stay for the hotel entertainment. However, I do know they alternate it each evening.
Pools - rooftop pool fabulous, our first choice as great sea view and for people watching. Lovely and quiet. Plenty if sunbeds, never had to rush out to reserve one. Main pool was nice, but no view.
Location - 2 mins walk to seafront and numerous bars and restaurants.
Staff - all polite and friendly, always an "hola" whenever one walked past.
Guests - mainly aged 60 plus. We were one of the youngest (late 30s) guests, however, it was great as it meant entertainment stopped at 11pm and a peaceful night's sleep was possible.
Summary - highly recommend, if you want quality accommodation, especially if you are older as most clients are and intend to stay at the hotel a lit eg full board. We are unlikely to return, but only because we ventured out to the seafront a lot, and the Colon G became an expensive base just to lay our heads.More
