If you like getting out and about on holiday, the adults-only Colon Guanahani Hotel is perfect. The property is less than a five-minute walk from a sandy, crescent-shaped bay, and the smart shops and restaurants in Playa Fanabé.
The hotel itself is really smart. It’s made up of tall, colonial-style buildings that are painted in a rich terracotta colour, and come with grand-looking windows with floor-to-ceiling glass panels. The whole complex is edged by tropical gardens and glossy palm trees, and, at the centre of it all, there are two huge saltwater swimming pools.
Another big talking point is the hotel’s spa. It’s a tranquil space that features a sauna and a string of massage cabins, and you can book in for anti-stress packages if you really want to unwind.
When it comes to dining, there’s an à la carte restaurant serving up tasty around-the-world favourites. It’s got a large outdoor terrace, too, so you can enjoy your meals in the fresh air.

This was our first visit to this hotel. We have spent many holidays in the Canary Islands and this is one of the very best hotels we have stayed at, outranking many 5 star hotels. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and the high ratio of staff to guests in the restaurant and bar is such that we found we were receiving almost immediate attention. We WILL be back! Another great holiday at the Colon Guanahani
Just returned from another visit to Costa Adeje and the lovely Colon Guanahani. We have stayed at this small, very popular hotel for several years now and the hotel never fails to satisfy. Having booked our favourite room overlooking the pool area, we spent a very enjoyable, restful week. Since our last visit, road works have taken place outside and greatly improved the road area surrounding the hotel. As always the staff were welcoming and efficient and nothing is too much trouble. It must say something for the management of the hotel that the same staff are here year after year, and greet us as friends! And the food - as always - was superb, either from the buffet, served at the table or show cooking, always something to tempt the taste-buds! The variety of food is one of the main reasons why we return to this hotel year after year!! We look forward to visiting again!!More

This was our second visit to this hotel and will definitely be back again. We arrived mid-evenig and were made to feel very welcome at reception and was told that we were still in time for dinner which we enjoyed. Normally there is Cava avilable o narrival but due to the lateness of our arrival there wasn't any - but there was a bottle in our room along with fruit available - most enjoyable! Our last visit there was in a superior room overlooking the pool but unfortunately this time we were put in one of the older rooms on the groung floor looking into a fence shielding us from the road. The bathroom was also obviously older. We asked at reception if a room similar to our previous one was a available - there was - at a price! However we decided to go for it and glad we did - the room had a sunny evening balcony overlooking the pool with a modern bathroom with a large walk in shower. There appears to be plans this summer to modernise the the older rooms. The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating, the food very good with plenty of choice - the sweets weren't to our own personal choice but there was plenty of cheeses, ice cream etc. The Hotel is well situated - going down to the front and going left takes you along to the restaurants, bars, beaches etc. of Las Playas de Americas and the other direction takes you to the more up-market El Duque area. We will definitely be back - but will want the same room!More

A Perfect Stay
Stayed here for a couple of days on a stop-over. When we arrived around 1.50pm check-in was welcoming and quick (as was check-out by the way) - and while we waited for our room to be ready we enjoyed a complimentary glass of Cava. We had booked a superior double which overlooked the swimming pool. It was a really comfortable room and had all the amenities we needed including a mini bar which doubled as our fridge. The pool area was immaculate and quiet with plenty of sun beds and shades - although some guests do get out early - nationality unknown!! - to reserve sunbeds with their towels. Time for the hotel management to act! We only ate breakfast at the hotel and this was very good indeed with hot dishes freshly prepared. When we return we shall eat dinner which appears to be particularly good value. There is entertainment most evenings. All the staff we met were really helpful and welcoming. The hotel is a short stroll to the sea, shops, ATMs and restaurants. No complaints - a perfect stay.More
