Adrian Hoteles Colon Guanahani Hotel

This grand hotel gives you three pools and a setting just 5-minutes’ walk from the beach.

This place was given a makeover in 2014. It has a grand, colonial feel and is edged by tropical gardens, at the centre of which lie two huge pools. And it’s less than a 5-minute walk from a sandy bay and the smart shops and restaurants in Playa Fanabé.

Breakfast and dinner are covered in the buffet restaurant, while lunch comes courtesy of the pool bar. Both have large terraces so you can eat outside. The massage menu in the spa is well worth a look, too.

Lovely relaxing hotel

Very peaceful and quiet adults only hotel, cleaned to a very high standard throughout, there are 2 heated pools and a spa at ground floor level, and a heated pool and jacuzzi on the roof. Each person is given 2 pool towels each which can be changed on a daily basis. There were plenty of sun beds available all day with padded mattresses, and each pair of sun beds has a parosol and table. We booked a superior room on the ground floor, which was very comfortable and well furnished, and had a terrace which was right next to the pool. The bathroom was large and very modern, and although there was no bath, there was an excellent shower. The only meals we had in the hotel was breakfast which was very good with plenty of choice, but I do think they cater more for other nationalities rather than the British at breakfast time (ie hot dogs but no English sausage). There is no entertainment of any kind through the day, and only average at night, so if you are a party animal this isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for a quiet child free holiday in the sun it's the perfect place.More

Very nice stay

We stayed here only for one night but it was very pleasant. We had a suite on the bottom floor with access to the pool area. The staff was very nice and forthcoming. The hotel has a very calm and quiet atmosphere which we very much appreciated after an action packed vacation. Even though I do not mind staying at hotels that are family oriented, it was a nice change to not have any kids running around. The pools may not be as big as in other hotels, however, they are more relaxing and less overfilled. From the roof top pool, you also have a nice view and I loved the chairs that were placed at that pool - very comfy. The breakfast was very good, too. I would clearly recommend staying here.More

Lovely hotel

This hotel is small compared to others in the area, but not that small. It's friendly and quiet, no banging music round the pool, just nice and relaxed. The breakfast is to die for, everything you could possibly want is available, we never ate lunch after the breakfast as we were too full. I would highly recommend it. More

Very friendly, very classy

What a hotel! Well appointed and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast but best of all, very friendly and attentive staff, they make this hotel. Myself and my family stayed for 2 weeks summer holiday it was brilliant, quiet and refined and an excellent location within a couple of hundred yards of excellent restaurants. It is a very clean and tidy hotel with regular replenishment of towels for your room (they ask at check in how often you would like them replaced, being an eco-friendly place), it is also possible to change your lounger and pool towels regularly. If you are looking for a quiet break to totally chill, this is the place to go.More

Absolutely lovely

We are on our 3rd full day and everything has been first class. Breakfast is plentiful, can't ink of anything they don't supply. There's also an option for s cheeky Bucks Fizz if you fancy it. The waiters and waitresses are so friendly and helpful, constantly smiling and nothing is too much trouble. The idea of providing 2 towels for the sun loungers is great. We have never stayed at an adults only hotel before and to be honest I didn't pay much attention to this when I booked but I cannot stress how much of a difference it has made to the atmosphere. We both love kids but the lack of shrieks and screams has definitely added to the laid back feel and relaxation is altogether easier. Wished we had a requested a pool view but we didn't bother asking when we got here as the bellboy told us it was full and bearing in mind it was almost August it seemed like a pointless exercise. Would definitely ask for this when we come back again. We like to stay by the pool for as long as possible each day and the opportunity to finish the day off in the jacuzzi pool on the roof terrace with he lovely breeze has been great. The shower is probably the best I've ever used...anywhere! If I was pushed to think of one drawback it would be that our air conditioning isn't very powerful, not sure if this is a hotel wide thing or just our room. I could wax lyrical (already have really) about this place and can thoroughly recommend it. Well done Colon Guanahani - looking forward to the next visit and we haven't even left yet!More
