Attention to detail makes it 6 star....
We have been lucky to stay in some world class places ....and what makes the baobab suites up with the best is the attention to detail and the people who look after you.... The hotel will not be to everyone's taste but if you like Phillipe Starck and clean lines with lots of white and glass you'll love it ....if you want warm wood and rich fabrics and colour avoid. Minimalism only works if it is maintained to within an inch of its life ....let it look ragged and the place looks shabby not chic....this place is definitely chic. The next thing that stops it being cold and impersonal are the details.....just a few examples 1. We brought some lovely Moulton Brown toiletries to enjoy ..they will be going home. The ones the hotel supplies are wonderful. Great smells and very summery. 2. The kitchens are full of sparkling quality glasses and crockery....we are in a two bedroom apartment and we could throw a party for our neighbours...and am sur if you wanted to cook there is every utensil even the pickiest chef might require. 3. We choose one with a jacuzzi and were concerned it might not be big enough, sufficiently warm and with powerful jets.... Shouldn't have given it a thought it is one of the nicest we have been in. So the fabric of the hotel is about as good as it gets but all this is wasted if the people are not good.....not sure how they get such good people but everyone from the reception to waitresses to cleaners make you feel as though you are a guest in their home. They are friendly and welcoming rather than being fawning - a truly sincere genuine wish to ensure your well earned holiday is as good as you want it to be. I know it's unfair to single people out but tough.... alba on reception is a star ... She epitomises all the hotel is trying to do ....if you want to do anything, need anything or just want to chat and ask her about the island do it she will ensure you have a perfect stay. Any quibbles ......None at all . It is our second visit and we never go back to the same place .... The Baobab will help us break that rule very soon.More
Really loved this complex. Really peaceful, breakfast was amazing - something for everyone - staff were very helpful and friendly. Used the spa to have a massage which was great. If you have a room with a pool even better. Views were great. Place and rooms were very clean and tidy. We were on the sixth floor which was a bit of a faff to get to reception or breakfast to as you had to swap lifts, but was not the end of the world. Would recommend this to anyone, and have. Friends and family are booking their stays for next year.More

Chilled out luxury holiday
We stayed at the Baobab suites for a week in June and from the moment we arrived the service was fantastic. Glass of wine waiting for us in reception and a chilled bottle in the fridge of the suite! The apartments are great, really spacious with everything you need. The communal pool areas are great and never crowded - always got a lounger at any time of day. Breakfast was great - choice of 2 options, delivered to your room or down in the restaurant - both are great depending on what you fancy each day. We can't recommend the Baobab suites highly enough and will be back in the future! More
Just returned from a 4 day break with my friends at Baobab Suires. Trip was booked to celebrate my birthday & we thought we'd splash out a bit & go for some luxury, hence the reason we booked this accommodation. Well, we were not disappointed. On arrival, we were greeted at reception by the lovely Alba, who was very friendly & welcoming. We were each offered a glass of wine at reception & Alba was very efficient in checking us in. Our 2 bedroom Serenity Suite was fabulous - it was spotlessly clean, modern & well equipped and even had our own private sandy area with sunbeds off our terrace with access to a pool which was pretty much deserted during our stay. Alba the receptionist phoned our room 2 nights in a row to ensure we were enjoying our stay which was a lovely touch & great customer service. She is an asset to the Baobab Suites and is definitely the right person in the right job. Breakfast was great every morning & the choice was extensive with fresh fruit, juices, salad bar, hot breakfast items & pastries. We didn't eat in the restaurants so can't comment on that. Single beds were provided in both rooms as opposed to a double & a twin room which was perfect given that it was a girls only holiday. The Baobab Suites are in a very quiet area of El Duque but was only a short 10-15 walk downhill into the busier resort of Fanabe, where we ate out most nights. Seriously could not fault this accommodation in any way. Only small annoyances were that our room was right above the kids club which had a large open air ceiling so quite a bit of noise from screaming children & banging around which we would rather have done without, given that we were on a girls holiday and had left our own children at home! Also some rennovation/DIY noise in the hotel on the last couple of days from rooms being refurbished which again slightly spoiled the peace & quiet but the positives seriously out way the minor noise issues.
