Playa olid uncut
The playa olid all inclusive is not up to the usual standard for 4 stars you get the choice of 1 beer cold red , white and rose and some nights we couldn't even recognise what some of the food was apart from that the hotel was clean staff were brilliant but because of the former we won't go back but love the resort and will definitely go back there .More
Reading the reviews on here before I travelled I was really looking forward to staying at the Playa Olid - however it didn't live up to expectations. I wonder if we were actually staying at the same hotel! On a positive note, the apartment was great (Room 3302). It was of a good size, very clean and had a view of the childrens pool. There was a problem finding the room when we first arrived and we were handed a map by the reception staff. Throughout the holiday we saw people walking round the hotel with maps trying to find their room - a bellboy may be useful? The drinks were watered down which is generally expected isn't it but I didn't expect that to apply to soft drinks too. Even the coke was watered down so much that the main flavour was carbonated water. The ice creams and bottled water had to be paid for too. Food was poor - the same choice every night served luke warm and in a canteen area that was far too small for the number of guests. Tables were crammed in next to each other so there was no privacy and it was a problem getting to your seats. I realise that you get what you pay for but I don't think that £800 for 5 nights for 2 people in February (not school holidays) is particularly cheap. The entertainment in the evening is awful - we walked out as did other people. I would definitely not stay here again,More

We spent 4 days in the Playa Olid In February booked with Thomas Cook. The whole process start to finish was very easy. The main Hotel and rooms were always clean. We stayed in a 2nd floor room overlooking the 2nd pool at the back. You can see the old sky park which people had described as an eyesore. It is just 4 metal towers which didn't bother us. We were far enough away from the main pool and hotel that we couldn't hear any noise from the entertainment. The rooms look quite recently updated. They had a hallway, main bedroom, bathroom with shower, living room with single bed. There is free wifi available in the main hotel. The staff were always happy, polite and helpful. My son didn't end up going in the main pool as he loved the one at the back which was quieter. There is a pool bar alongside serving drinks and snacks. The main pool also has a pool bar but no food available. There is a small amount of maintenance work needed on the paths around the hotel with the odd loose tile but is minimal. All inclusive food was themed each day, with Italian, Chinese, Spanish etc. We always found something we liked to eat. I can understand how it could get boring if staying for 2 weeks but it is cheap enough to eat out locally. They have local versions of shorts on the all inclusive and staff where always happy to mix drinks. We were a little concerned on the location as some reviews mentioned the "steep hills". As soon as we arrived we went for a walk and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is on a gentle slope but my drive is steeper!! We walked it everyday and can't see it being a problem unless pushing a wheelchair. There is a nice shop outside the hotel with a lovely lady serving who from the 2nd day discounted everything my son purchased!!! Head straight down the hill 200m and there is a taxi rank, there was always a few taxi's there waiting, we used them once to get to Siam Park and it was 6 Euros. Turn right and go another 100m and there is a bus stop which the free bus to Siam Park stops approximately every 30mins. It took us 5 mins to walk the 700m straight down to the beach, there are plenty of shops, café's and restaurants on the way and all along the promenade above the beach. Shop about as prices vary dramatically. We saw the same towels at 3Euros and 15Euros!! If you plan on doing water sports shop around. We got it reduced from 180E to 90E for 2 of us on 1 jetski for 2 hours. Go down to the roundabout straight over and around the bend to the left, first right there is a small shack selling excursions. We had a fantastic few days there and can't wait to go back.More

Stayed in room 4411, overlooks both pools ,we got the sun most of day on our balcony and it is a short walk up ramp from reception, room cleaned 5 times a week, fridge ,kettle ,toaster , microwave and coffee maker were provided in the kitchenette, our room was large and spacious, and had ample room for 2 adults and 2 teens. Food was repetitive at times, but there was always lots of choice at each meal,(they are catering for lots of nationalities) if you want 4 or 5 star food pay for higher star hotel, even though we were all inclusive we always eat out some meals and there are good pubs and restaurants within a few minutes walk.More
Basic but spotlessly clean!
Had a four night break in these apartments. Nice room, all been refurbished, really spacious. Food was ok, good value. Coffee not so good though! Good location, only 10 mins from seafront. Pool area in need of some TLC, needs some refurbishing there. All in all, weather was lovely, had a nice break.More
