When it comes to location, Playa Olid gets a solid A-plus - it's close to the beach and Siam Park waterpark. Families are well catered for, too, thanks to a child-friendly pool, spacious apartments, and buffet restaurant offering takeaway options.
Playa Olid is set in a lively corner of town with a range of bars, shops, and restaurants on its doorstep. And Tenerife’s biggest waterpark, Siam Park, is only a 5-minute drive down the road.
The beach is close, too – its curved, golden sands are less than a 10-minute stroll from the hotel, and it’s popular with both families and the surfing crowd.
Back at the hotel, there’s a pool, sunloungers, and palm trees dotted around the edge, plus its own bar. A couple of floors up, an extra sunbathing terrace with a Jacuzzi® overlooks the pool. Plus, children get their own half-moon-shaped paddling zone.
The apartments are big and bright, come with a terrace or balcony, and have fully-furnished kitchens. There’s also a buffet restaurant, where the chefs grill steak to order and pack up lunch-time picnics for guests.
We stayed in the Playa Olid from 3rd till 17th Oct this year. Fantastic holiday the hotel was very clean our room was cleaned 10 out of the 14 days we stayed. we stayed in room 3201 and was not what it says in the photo's you could not sit on the sofa as it creaked so bloody bad not comfortable what so ever.. did asked to be moved but hotel full. There are 2 pools both the same and very noisy would not recomend if you wanting a quiet holiday. food was Ok there was a lot off selection on all basis. We had all inclusive visits to Siam park the 1st time we went by the free bus was a nightmare all other times we went we walked only takes 35 mins you get there before al the free buses only proplem was having to wait to have your photo taken. other than that very good holiday. no air con, do not get from the hotel go down the road to the pub next to the 24hr super market 2 weeks rental in total was 35 and you get 10 back.More

Value for money
Bog standard All Inclusive - worth what you pay - nothing special just what you expect for the star rating - clean and nice pool, good location, up a slight incline but nothing outrageous. Nice area with lots of posher hotels round about - but still within easy walking distance of Las AmericasMore

Stayed at Playa Olid at the beginning of the month, a very clean and tidy place. The views are mostly over looking other apartments or the pool. Food was good although I'm a fussy eater I didn't starve. There was entertainment every night to suit most tastes. The bedroom is to the front of the hotel and have to say it is quite noisy mostly through traffic.
The room was cleaned 5 out of the 7 days that we stayed. Room had small kitchen, coffee maker, fridge, toaster, kettle and hob. There is no air conditioning and bedroom got quite stuffy as window kept closed because of traffic noise but it didn't spoil the holiday.
A lovely big walk in shower and no matter what time of the day or night we showered the water was piping hot.
Area around was lovely and the locals not too pushy except the area near the harbour which if you don't want a hard sell I'd avoid.
The beach was beautiful the sea lovely and warm. Plenty of evening entertainment if you didn't like the hotel entertainment.
Would definitely visit again.More

Excellent value ð
We have just returned from a super two week holiday. We stayed in a standard room which was more than ample. We rented fans from "the pub" just down the hill for 15 euros each for two weeks, I would recommend you do this. The food is fine, just dont be greedy and put everything on your plate the first night then you won't get fed up after 5th day. Staff in restaurant were really mannerable and very hard working. Pools are ok and animation team good fun. We had Siam Park with our booking so took the free bus up after lunch, the parks quieten down about 4 and saves you queuing for rides. All in all excellent value for money, my daughter (14) and son (11) really enjoyed it as did my husband and myself. We would definitely go back ðMore
Escaped to Siam Park daily
Updated rooms are ok-just like website pics. Balcony overlooked derelict Sky Park and pool 2-no complaints there. Food was more canteen than restaurant. Nothing had a name, just a basic picture of a chicken/pig/cow etc. But often it was wrong-how difficult can it be. After a couple of days we ate out at night and went to Siam Park during day (got ticket included in cost with package).
Drinks appeared watered down. Entertainment team tried their best. This property needs more than a basic lick of paint to bring it up to scratch-for us anyway.More
