When it comes to location, Playa Olid gets a solid A-plus - it's close to the beach and Siam Park waterpark. Families are well catered for, too, thanks to a child-friendly pool, spacious apartments, and buffet restaurant offering takeaway options.
Playa Olid is set in a lively corner of town with a range of bars, shops, and restaurants on its doorstep. And Tenerife’s biggest waterpark, Siam Park, is only a 5-minute drive down the road.
The beach is close, too – its curved, golden sands are less than a 10-minute stroll from the hotel, and it’s popular with both families and the surfing crowd.
Back at the hotel, there’s a pool, sunloungers, and palm trees dotted around the edge, plus its own bar. A couple of floors up, an extra sunbathing terrace with a Jacuzzi® overlooks the pool. Plus, children get their own half-moon-shaped paddling zone.
The apartments are big and bright, come with a terrace or balcony, and have fully-furnished kitchens. There’s also a buffet restaurant, where the chefs grill steak to order.

We stayed for a week in this hotel in a spacious modern apartment equipped with flat screen tv, toaster, microwave, kettle etc. We went on an all inclusive basis and there was a very good variety and quality of food and drinks provided every day. All the staff were very friendly and efficient and provided excellent service. The main problem at the hotel is the shortage of space for sun loungers and that they don't stop people putting towels on them to save them. This meant that on most days all the sun beds were reserved by 8:30 am with people not turning up to use them until 12:30 in some cases. Also if you like to use the internet a lot the WiFi is very weak. I purchased the premium WiFi for myself and my daughter but I could very rarely connect so my advice would be not to bother. Overall the hotel offers very good value for money and I would recommend staying there.More

Excellent Value for Money
Just returned from a weeks holiday at Playa Olid and have to say we were very.impressed overall with the hotel. We were on all inclusive and the food was excellent quality, varied and plentiful with lots of fresh cooking and several different theme nights. We were in a lovely modern apartment that was very spacious with a big balcony. The whole property was imaculately clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely return. Just a couple of tips for the management to take onboard. Firstly please stop people reserving sunbeds with towels at the crack of dawn, its so annoying to get to the pool at 10 am nobody is there but there isnt an empty sunbed in sight. The only other thing I would suggest putting a bit of music on in the lobby bar in the evening as it totally lacks atmosphere and the entertainment starts quite late so its pretty boring in the evening. For a 3 star hotel though this was bloody brilliant.More

Just returned from staying at this hotel and I won't be returning! After reading the reviews I thought it would be a great hotel for me and my son but I was wrong, food was below 3star so were the drinks, very noisy at night considering it's supposed to be a family hotel!! No food suitable for kids my son had to have chips and a bread roll as there wasn't any choice for young ones, so eating out was the only option. You really get what you pay for with this hotel cheap and nasty!More

One of the best
We have just spent 2 weeks all inclusive at Playa Olid. We were impressed right from the start at the efficiency of 99.9% of the entire staff, just a certain barman let them down by chatting too much and causing queues to build up! Management seem to have thought of everything and we were not aware of any complaints; having done our research we had taken note of a reviewer and requested a high floor with lift access, which they were able to accommodate us with (room1409). Although this block is over a busy main road which leads to the motorway we were more than happy, since the spacious lounge/dining and balcony area were at the back away from the road, so it was just the bedroom which was affected by traffic noise. The balcony was overlooked by block 3's stairs and bedroom window (they did not have lift access!) but was very private as their balcony was on their other side - we could see the sea (just), pool area and view across the motorway to the hillside beyond; towels were changed every day and beds twice a week and the whole complex was exceptionally clean. The dining-room was very busy but very well organised, plenty of variation of food at all mealtimes with a microwave for reheating your food if needed. It did however take 5 days before the muesli was replaced. The apartments have a never-ending supply of liquid soap, and liquid shower soap and shampoo in a dispenser over the bath, free use of the fridge; kettle and coffee-making facilities, safe (a charge of 17 euros per week), no fan or air-con but this was never needed as the apartment was cool enough. There was varied exterior-sourced entertainment every evening and some daytime entertainment in the form of aerobics, water polo and poolside fashion shows; also a couple of pool tables. You can purchase a 15 euro bus travel ticket from the supermarket across the road with bus stops right outside the hotel to take you to Los Cristianos, Americas, Los Gigantes, etc A 15-min walk to the El Duque beach and lovely promenade walks to Playa/Americas and Los Cristianos. We would not hesitate to return to this hotel and thank all the staff for making this a very pleasurable holiday.More

Travelled to the Playa Olid in December with a friend for my birthday. I have been travelling to Tenerife every winter for the past 4 years and can definitely say this hotel beats all that we've stayed at so far. Remember when booking it is a 3 star. So don't expect the highest of everything you are after all paying for a 3 star. That being said it was actually better than most of the 4 star hotels i've stayed at in Tenerife by far. The hotel is nicely located in the quieter end yet it is still only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. It also has plenty of alternative restaurants and bars within crawling distance should you wish to go out the hotel. It is also a 25min walk to playa de las americas, or a 3 euro taxi journey. The room we got was amazing in block 3. We paid the little extra (£20) for the premium room and it was worth it, very spacious and quiet. The food was by far the bet of i've experienced in tenerife hotels. It had a different theme each evening for dinner from chinese to european styled dishes. The only downside was that there could be at times very little choice it was each pork, pork, pork or beef beef beef. But only found this a couple times the rest of the time we found something different, all of good taste and quality. They also cook certain dishes in front of you such as steak, pork, fish, eggs(breakfast) all to order and preference. The barman was great remembered our drinks throughout our stay for the different times of days. The others were as a whole friendly and helpful. The only negative staff we had was a lady on the pool bar during the morning/afternoon who always seemed moody and miserable, although she did seem to cheer up later in the week. The reception was good with a lot of information around if needed. Some of the younger girls on reception were a bit clueless to the local area which didnt help as we needed a pharmacy one day but another soon showed us. Like I say its a 3 star hotel and we were more than impressed. Good service, quality and daily entertainment plus good food and drink. The playa olid is definitely worth the money, don't go expecting 4 star quality or service as its not a 4 star hotel as people always seem to make that assumption when judging. I was that impressed with the hotel I am returning there this december again with more friends, which is a first for me as I tend to change hotels every year.More
