All inclusive stay at playa olid

Really clean rooms very well equipt we were all inc but out room was set up for self catering a bonus when holidaying with young children & lazy teenagers Pool area was small but still enough space for everyone and the kids loved the pool The evening entertainment is one of the best we've experienced yeah the free drinks run dry at 11 but it's not expensive if you did want to continue drinking me & the kids were ready for bed by then anyway The food is pretty basic n was nearly always cold we did eat out on occasion but we're fussier than most The children's entertainers were awesome do polite friendly n really out going There where 8 of us on this holiday ages from 60s to 6 and we all agreed we would most deffinetly returnMore

Jo B,

One week stay

The Olid apartments are a very basic family/couples holiday stay. They are very clean but in need of redecorating and updating. The restaurant served excellent food and a wide, varied choice every day. The hotel itself is on a hill which is a bit of a trek but not too bad. Staff where absolutely excellent.More

After staying at this hotel for a week with my family I can honestly say, never again.... The room/apartment was very nice, finished it mostly white gloss with a decent bed, shower etc. Most of the staff are ok, not as helpful as other reviews have said but, the reception staff...... Very rude and not helpful at all. Maybe they forgot we actually paid to be there. the hotel is very big and has lost of apartments, too many for the guests to be comfortable. There are two pools, both too small, the main pool has enough room for one row of sun beds, that's it, the second pool isn't much better. The food was 'OK' , a bit bland and repetitive but ok, the restaurant tho was again too small, and not enough staff, there was always families Waiting to sit and tables not cleared for a while. The main bar, again way too small and very hot, the other bar is in the lobby, and have not music or any kind of atmosphere. The grade of three star is in my opinion a bit high, don't expect too much from this hotel, for a fully inclusive hotel, you would expect it big enough to be able to stay to use the fully inclusive perks, but no..... We found ourselves having to go out more due to no room anywhere. Look elsewhere if you want a family hotel.More

Right, just returned from there. 2 weeks all inclusive. Upon arrival all staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our holiday, but having said that this place definitely has its flaws. I was apprehensive after reading mixed reviews on here. BAD Cockroaches on food counters. Cockroaches on dining room table(wife squashed a baby one.) Breakfast served til 10am but arrive at 9:45am you get a dirty look and a moan. Long queues for dinner and was like being back in the military scran hall. Overcrowded loud and hot! Chef refused to cook food for guests. Hotel located at top of hill and basically off a motorway junction so loud facing the road. All inclusive finishes at 11pm. Alcohol must be watered down, all weak brands. Room wasn't cleaned well at all, maid always "cleaning" but never seemed clean. One cleaner threw our ash tray all over the balcony and left it for us to clean. No proof of foul play but a pair of designer glasses of mine went "missing." No air conditioning. Pool bar/lobby bar opening times stupid. Toilets not clean and doors don't lock in the lobby/pool Pools are small and overcrowded Get up early because everyone reserves beds at the crack of dawn. GOOD 90% of staff friendly and helpful. Entertainment nights are good the best one being the hypnotist. Kids disco is good. Shop outside and staff inside shop are good and friendly and offer 10% off all goods. So to conclude after looking at my lists, I'd give it a very low 3 star rating. I know people say: "What do you expect for a 3 star" But roaches on any sort of food should be priority problem to solve ASAP. If Gordon Ramsey saw it he would shut it down. Won't be returning and I would honestly recommend looking elsewhere for a decent hotel. Obviously everyone's standards are different but if you do stay here go in with a very open mind! 🙈 More

Lovely weather, disappointed with aspects of the hotel

Hotel wasn't quite what we expected, looks lovely on the brochure and the website, the reality was not the same. Reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff and cleaners were pleasant and friendly but the food and drinks weren't of a high enough standard. I agree that you wouldn't starve and there was plenty of food but the variety was lacking and the restaurant wasn't as clean as it could have been We went down to breakfast one morning and there was food left on the floor from dinner the night before, chips, veg, bread, including cockroach infestations. When restuarant staff were alerted they ensured the areas were cleaned but the cockroaches were a daily occurrrence. Staff were friendly and Patricia always had a smile and a plesant word for all and Esmerelda, the breakfast chef was a delight. I realise that you get what you pay for and that it was advertised as a 3 star hotel but it fell short of this. The drinks were definitely second rate and as a result we went out every evening. We did watch one show, OMG, dire, the reaminder that were advertised also looked to be as bad. The atmosphere around the pool was great for children and teenagers and there plenty of them around but we preferred to be out and about and near the sea which was only a 10 minute walk down hill. Beware the mobility scooter brigade though,I don't mean eldrly people with mobility issues, i mean all and sundry bombing around on 1 seater and 2 seater mobility vehicles, they were a menace to all pedestrians.More
