Marismas Sombra

Surrounded by greenery, yet within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach, this pair of villas offer up the best of both worlds. Set among tall palms and bright bougainvillea, these traditional villas really make the most of their picturesque surroundings. Look in one direction and you’ll see tree-stacked mountains that march off into the distance. Turn around, and it’s all about wide-open fields that lead down to the sea. Location-wise, the pair are on the edge of Son Bou, which means shops, bars and the beach are about a 15-minute walk away. But you can get to the nearest restaurant and supermarket in just a few minutes.

Marismas Sol and Marismas Sombra are two villas that are mirror images of each other. With their whitewashed walls and terracotta roofs, they’re typically Mediterranean looking. Outside, each one has a lagoon-shaped pool, which takes pride of place among well-kept gardens. The pools are surrounded by spacious terraces, complete with loungers, parasols and barbecues.

Step inside and you’ll find cosy, one-level spaces that each sleep up to four. In terms of bedrooms, each villa has one double and one twin. Neutral walls and pine furniture give things a relaxed, homely vibe, while bright soft furnishings inject some colour.

It’s more of the same in the villas’ lounges, with cane furniture and funky paintings. Comfortable chairs and sofas provide enough seats for everyone, while a TV and a DVD player are great for those evenings in.

Move through to the kitchens, and you’ll find all the self-catering essentials including ovens, fridges and kettles. Plus you get nice-to-haves like microwaves, dishwashers and washing machines.
