Just what we wanted.
We were looking for a quiet, restful week in September to recharge our batteries and chose this hotel based on the reviews here, half board. Absolutely perfect if you want to spend a few days lying around on a sunbed, reading, walking, swimming in the sea (or in the more bracing pool!) and admiring the stunning view. This is a beautiful stretch of coast, maybe the nicest in Menorca. Really enjoyed the breakfast and evening buffets, Great selection of dishes, well-cooked and nicely presented. Even had a choice of raw milk (my favourite!).The evening entertainment was not great (bar staff were very friendly) but we preferred to walk along the beach, play pool or wander down to the sports bar. There's also a very good bar, with excellent bar food, at the entrance to the town. The fridge in the room was brilliant. We bought local pate, cheeses and tomatoes to have for lunch on the balcony every day. The local wine is cheap and perfectly drinkable. The bus service (bus stop outside the hotel) was very good. We hadn't bothered to hire a car but, if you want one, go to Owners Cars, just along the road. Room and hotel were cleaned to a very high standard (I used to work in a hotel and, trust me, I know!). Had a lovely view over the pool and beach. Balcony on the small side but big enough for the two of us. Check out what activities are on as you can join in and it's a good way to meet people. We found the air-con effective. Tip: make sure you get 2 key cards. If it's very hot, close the blinds and curtains when you go out and leave 1 key card in the slot. This way you can leave the air-con on. The ceiling fan was a nice touch. Used the gym a few times. Staff were incredibly nice and helpful. We had a latish flight back and were told that they would provide towels for free if we wanted to use the facilities and then shower at the gym. Also, we arrived about 11 at night and a light supper, with a free half bottle of wine, had been laid out for us in the dining room. The age range was from about 30 up, majority in their 50s-70s, which is not as old as it sounds these days. Would definitely go back, but a week is long enough for me. If you're buying Mahon gin to take home, it's cheaper at the airport.More

Really lovely Hotel and resort
Just spent another week at this really beautiful location. We stayed in the same hotel and resort a couple of years ago, and decided it was the best place to come back to for a truly lovely hotel and perfect resort. We even asked if we could have the same room, which has a sideways view of the sea, and they were kind enough to arrange that for us. The Hotel is spotless, the staff are unfailingly helpful and everything about the Hotel and location just could not be more wonderful. It is a quiet location, so don't come here if you want a lively holiday but if you want a relaxing holiday, with easy access to the beach and sea, a few small but well stocked shops, and a top Hotel then this is the place. The Hotel is Adults only, and generally (in October anyway) is full of mostly over 65s. We are a bit younger than that, but like the company of older people - they don't seem to go in the pool much, so we often had that to ourselves! There was entertainment every night, which was sometimes a little dated ( music from the sixties, perhaps its time to move into the seventies?) but to be honest we appreciated the ambience of the bar area so were happy with whatever. The bar staff were second to none for friendly service, and went out of their way to try and remember your name, and offered really good service. The buffet type food in the restaurant was excellent, though strangely rarely offered a potato option in the evenings? Breakfast options were incredible. A special mention must go to the young lady that cleaned our room each day - Esmeralda I think her name was - I cannot believe how clean she made everything. They had replaced the bath with a walk in shower this year and its the best shower we have ever used, so thank you. We really can't recommend this Hotel highly enough for a relaxing mature holiday. Resort wise, the only criticism I can come up with, is that there are not many options for Bus trips, they don't run very frequently at this time of year, and Thomson who we travelled with didn't have much of a selection of trips that we hadn't done the first time. A lot of people hired a car however, and as this seemed like a good value I guess that's what we would do another time.More

Ten out of ten
My husband and I spent a week at the sol menorca in September and could not fault a thing. The Sol Menorca is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, spotlessly clean, fresh smelling rooms, bed linen and towels changed regularly. Food is excellent, staff very friendly and professional. Will definitely return. More
