very nice place ,but couple thinks wrong
We been there family with child.Hotel its very nice food oki ,airconditioned . The pools are big enough, there is always a place for sunbeds, children's pool is fun for little ones.local staff very frendly hospitality and helpfool. Unfortunately we had health problems (small virus) When we went for help to thomson employees, we were very disappointed .modern girls without arrogant experience, behaving more than on vacation than at work.At first the local hotel manager provided us with more support than we expected the right person at the right place. Overall a nice atmosphere other than 3 days excluded from the holiday.More
Lovely place with some slight safety concerns.
This accommodation is great for young families and lots of the facilities have been designed with this in mind. The Splash Park was an absolute hit with our 4 and 2 year old. We stayed in Mestral A9 which was right next to the splash pool so really convenient and not too noisy as some reviews had suggested. We also had a Sea View which was an unexpected bonus. The apartment was lovely and spacious. The "Kids Den" was effectively 2nd bedroom with bunk beds, but there was plenty of room for the cot as well. The Las Dunas complex where the buffet is served seemed slightly disjointed from complex. The Bouncy Castles and soft play amused the kids but was quite expensive. We bought 2 books of 6 tickets on the first day but didn't use them all so maybe false economy. The "Free Pass" from the Apartments was only for Soft Play and not Bouncy castles. The food was great. Good selection well presented and plentiful. Plastic plates and cups for the kids were great but no childs' cutlery. We "borrowed" teaspoons at breakfast time as this was the only time they put little spoons out. The restaurant format is chaotic as kids/ food/ waiting staff zooming around so don't expect a quiet family dining experience! Although if you have small kids you've probably forgotten what that is!! Although the All Inclusive was sufficient, it wasn't the most free flowing availability of food. It would have been useful to have a Burger and Chips option at 5pm for the kids as they struggled with waiting until 7pm for Dinner. We had a great holiday, although there were a couple of issues that stopped me giving Excellent rating. Apartment door was not lockable from the inside. I'm guessing this is for Fire Safety but actually for trying to contain an escapologist 2 year old was a Nightmare. Especially being on 1st floor. Thankfully pool area is gated. A travel stair gate might have proved useful. There was also no lock on the bathroom doors and the Shower did not have a curtain. This meant the tiled floor got very slippery. Kids slipping on floor when you're head to toe in soap- not great. There is no mains switch to turn the cooker off and halogen hob switches are just too tempting for little fingers. But our main issue was the noise from the Fridge and the Air Conditioning unit. Maintenance came a few times but no solution. I finally discovered that the sliding door had a "kill switch" for the air con. This stopped the noise. I couldn't even reach a plug to turn the fridge off. Overall a great time though and special thanks to the Tui Reps who were great. Reps are based at the property so they are around all the time.More
The apartments were clean and tidy, cleaner's need to be more regular. Food very good lots of choice and caters for all. Must say ALL reps were outstanding helpful at all times excellent with children of all ages would highly recommend.More
Holiday spoiled by D&V
Really good place for families with young children. Santo Tomas is lovely - a perfect family resort but wouldn't appeal to the over-12's. Holiday marred by diahorrea and projectile vomiting, meaning that part of the holiday was spent unconscious or in the bathroom. Restaurant staff work hard but it's very run-down. Bird droppings on tables and chairs in some areas. Outside entertainment area is very run-down and dangerous in places. Lack of safety in apartments a nightmare - permanently wired-in electric hairdryer in bathroom plus an electric socket next to washbasin. Open electric sockets, just right for little fingers to explore, everywhere. Air-con dysfunctional at key times. No rubber safety mats in showers. Pool wasn't cleaned enough and often had floating rubbish. A week after returning home my wife is still unwell and receiving medical care. On the plus side, the weather and beach were lovely!More
Besides the bug outbreak amazing
Well what can I say....now my family are better after the 24 hr bug I can honestly say the time we were well was extremely enjoyable. The reps go above and beyond. The entertainment is great for the little ones. And the football Court fab for entertaining the older. We were self catering. Shop oposite selling essentials. Today our last evening was a Disney show.. even I couldn't stop singing. Colby the rep had an accident but as per the girls were extremely professional and the show went on! Hands up to the four youngsters running the entertainment. Colby Chloe Jake and Jess.... You did amazing with the bug fiasco.... Hats off. More
