Great hotel complex, but maybe not in October

Stayed in October half term of 2013, totally unaware that Menorca shuts down in October. We arrived on Fri 25th & by the Sunday the whole of the resort, bar our hotel & the local supermarket had shutdown. Not great that Thomson didn't make this clear. Those at the hotel on All Inclusive were obviously not bothered, but for those of us on self catering it wasn't great. Being told by the Thomson rep's to perhaps try the local bus to the next big resort for food shopping wasn't helpful! The hotel to be fair to them did offer an upgrade to all inclusive, but for us that was more than all the spending money we'd brought with us! We did pay for the last day as literally everything was closed. We did still have a nice holiday. The kids really enjoyed the kids club. They also made friends & really enjoyed the day time entertainment centred around the pool. The evening entertainment was also really good. The kids made use of the bouncy castles (extra cost). The hotel was nice, the rooms were nicely decorated, good sized balcony & had everything you'd want. Overall this is a nice resort, with a nice long sandy beach, but our experience would have been better if things had been open. Definitely worth a visit at another time of the year.More

Fabulous place for young families

Cant express what a fabulous place this is for families with young children, older children may get a little bored but there is still lots of activities for all children. Wouldn't recommend it for people without children. Lovely clean rooms, pool areas and restaurant. Food is lovely, lots of variety and caters well for children. You will never go hungry with the amount of snacks included in all inclusive. Kids club was fantastic, staff were great with kids and so much fun activities for the kids. Evening entertainment for children is great and there are also trampolines and bouncy castles (for a charge) for children who don't want to join in the entertainment. If you want a lovely clean resort that caters for families especially for children under 10 then this is one of the best places to go. Going this year for our third consecutive year.More

Fab for kids

We stayed in June , before school summer holidays started. I travelled with my 4 year old son and my best friend and her husband. We shared a three bed apartment which was more than big enough for all of us and one room had an en-suite which allowed my friend and her husband to have privacy and a bit of peace and quiet from my boisterous 4 year old! Apartment was clean and one of the biggest I have ever stayed in - we overlooked the splash pool which was convenient for my son and we didn't find it too noisy. The kids facilities were fab. My son loved the splash pool and made lots of friends who he happily played with for hours while I kept an eye on him from a lounger !! He can be a little shy but also really enjoyed the kids club which had sessions morning, afternoon and some evenings for 2 or 3 hours at a time - this allowed the adults to have a bit of a break when needed ! Food was ok - it was a little repetitive but there was a reasonable selection and we always found something we all liked. We didn't have much interaction with the hotel staff however I found the girls running the kids club very friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment was also good for children - magic shows, parrots etc - my son was thrilled !! We loved Santo Tomas itself - very quiet with only a couple of shops within walking distance - although I suspect it will be much busier / noiser during school holidays. We will be finding out as hoping to return in August 2015.More
