Guide to S'algar

"Some resorts seem to have been tailor-made for holidaymaking. In the case of S'Algar, that's certainly the case."

This place has managed to bag a prime spot right on the coast. You'll find it in the extreme south east corner of Menorca, right by Punta Prima. You're only a ten minute drive from the airport, but make sure you don't miss the turning. This place is well hidden to say the least.
Although this place is secluded, it's not completely cut off from the outside world. You'll find a few large hotels with swimming pools and the like. Shops selling essentials, as well as few handmade souvenirs like pots and leather goods. And there are plenty of attractive apartments and villas dotted around the place. These are mostly owned by Spanish families who regard S'Algar as the place to get away from it all.
Activity-wise, you'll find a fair few things to keep you amused. There's a small, sandy beach for those that like to do nothing more than flop under the sun. For something a bit more active, check out the range of watersports. If you take a stroll along the pretty coastline, you'll come to the larger beach of Cala Alcaufar. These shores form part of a long, narrow and shallow inlet, which is just the ticket for kids.
And, of course, the bright lights of Mahon are but a few miles away, so it's easy to pop over for an evening out or a day's sight-seeing. Just remember to take a good, recent road map with you.
