Playa Azul

This hillside hotel has a pool with a view, plus it’s just a 3-minute walk to Cala’n Porter beach.

Playa Azul offers sweeping views of the coastline, whether you’re poolside or on the bar’s al fresco terrace. Plenty of the rooms have sea views and there are bungalows you can stay in, too.

The hotel has its own buffet restaurant, and Cala’n Porter beach and town centre are both just 3 minutes away on foot.

Wonderful holiday in Menorca

We stayed in Playa Azul for one week at the end of August/start of September. It was our first time in Menorca, as well as first time trying all inclusive, and it definitely won't be our last. Cala en porter resort was beautiful and very quiet...just what we wanted in a beach holiday. Menorca is not somewhere you go for a lively holiday! The hotel overlooked the beautiful bay with crystal clear blue water, but there are quite a few steep steps to access it. It is quite a task, especially coming back up! The hotel itself was clean, tidy and simple in décor. The rooms were the same, and we had a great view from ours. The bathrooms in particular all looked brand new. The food proved very good...there was something for everybody at the buffet...the only small downside was that tea and coffee were not available in the dining area. The pool area was lovely, with great views, and plenty of sun loungers for everyone. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a low key relaxing holiday in Menorca...we're actually thinking of going back for two weeks next year. Well worth the money!More

Ten wonderful days in Cala'n Porter, Minorca

Oct 2014. Just returned from a lovely relaxing 10 day holiday in Playa Azul hotel in Cala'n Porter, Minorca. This hotel is spotlessly clean with very friendly staff. Because of late in the season there was no entertainment in or around the hotel but we enjoyed the chats with other holiday makers and quiet evening strolls. We stayed on an All Inclusive basis and found the food plentiful, excellent salad bar with various dressings along with several choices of fish and meat dishes both Spanish and international, plus soup of the day and fresh fruit. We were fortunate to have lovely hot sunny weather average 26 degrees for the duration apart from one storm during a night. The grounds, pools and bar are also immaculately kept. Our room was at the front, third floor with beautiful sea view - lovely to wake up to each morning, no street noise and sun all afternoon till the beautiful sun set every night. The room was really clean with excellent storage and the bathroom had a walk in shower and vanity unit, there are no frills like fridge or tea making facilities but iced water, tea /coffee etc easily available downstairs. There is a lovely safe beach across the road and although there are 190 steps down well worth the effort. All in all we had a great ten days of sun, sea and sand and walks. The bus stop for Mahon is just across the road and once there you can get another bus transfer to other parts of the island - very easy. Although we did not use the car hire services other travellers found the cars and roads excellent. So from UK 1 hour 45 flight plus 15 minute transfers we were unpacking at 10 am. Will certainly return and probably keep this little gem to ourselves.More

Total chill out!

Returned from a 10 night sojourn at this really laid back hotel yesterday, we found it a totally relaxing and very friendly hotel have to say we enjoyed wall to wall sunshine and temps around 26 deg most days, we had requested a sea view with balcony and it was way above our expectations! The staff cannot do enough to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, from the check in to the housekeeping staff , where in the UK could you tip your loose change on the floor and be unable to find it all yet the room service ladies found it and left it on the bedside cabinet the following day! 10 out of 10 to them! The hotel was kept scrupulously clean and everything in our room was replenished regularly when required, reception staff were most helpful at all times explaining everything in very good English. There was a good choice of food at mealtimes, always well prepared and enjoyable a mix of English and local, guests were greeted by Jesus and Isabel ( when she wasn't in the bar) and they attended us at table very attentively, have to say our preference was for local. Of course there were some guests who were critical but the majority were very happy! Bar staff were very friendly both Victor and Isabel understood the guests who hadn't bothered to brush up their Spanish! Poolside drinks are served in plastic but did understand, all bar consumed were in glasses, measures were rather generous! One point I should emphasise is that the hotel is better suited to adults rather than families with children and teens, we would have preferred some evening entertainment but as our stay was late in the season really cannot be too critical! We found it very easy getting around the island the bus stops literal over the road from the hotel, however there is NO service on Sundays, which in no way inconvenienced us relaxing by the pool was good! My one gripe is with the wi fi at the hotel even after paying a realistic 15 euro's for 7 days had very little service ( I was unable to upload post's or photo's to facebook ), in fact I found the free wi fi available in Mahon excellent by comparison! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel, the standard of service and our room were far better than the 3* awarded!More

First time in Menorca and loved it.

Stayed here from 21st September until 28th September 2014 on All Inclusive. First the good points, The staff were always smiling ,friendly and helpful especially Victor, Jesus and Izabel. The room was spacious and comfortable with a large balcony. Next the food EXCELLENT, I go to Spain for Spanish food not British fry ups. A choice of chicken, pork tenderloin veal chorizo and lamb Fish selection salmon, prawns, squid, sea bream and mackerel all cooked to perfection. Delightful desserts to finish the meal. Only down side it rained 3 evenings and there is not much shelter in the bar area. We had 2 evenings of excellent entertainment, "Ton of Fun" a female singer who sang Shirley Bassey, Aretha Franklyn and Tina Turner songs ,such depth to her voice, and a trio who sang Supremes hits, again brilliant voices. Would go back again but would hire a car to get out and about as the buses are not very frequent and the road are relatively quiet. Found out the day before we returned home that the All Inclusive was valid until 1800hrs on last day and although we had to check out of our room at 1200 we could still have lunch and drinks all afternoon before using the Courtesy room to freshen up and change.More

Highly recommended

With good food and great views of the beach, we can highly recommend this hotel. Everywhere is spotless and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were all-inclusive and enjoyed the Estrella lager and cava. We never made breakfast though, a 9.30 finish was a little too early when you're on holiday! The sandy coloured cat from next door paid the hotel a visit several times a day, and being cat lovers we always made a fuss of him, although we never got round to bringing him a piece of fish from the restaurant!More
