Hotel Valentin Star

This adults-only hotel has a huge pool, along with great views over Cala’n Bosch’s famous saltwater lake.

This just-for-adults hotel overlooks Cala’n Bosch marina and is just steps from the town’s restaurants and bars. There’s also a sandy Blue Flag beach just a 5-minute walk away.

The pool here’s a major feature – it’s long and curving. Main meals are covered at the buffet. And entertainment runs from morning ‘til night, with everything from language lessons to live shows.

Brilliant hotel

Came back from this hotel in September spent a lovely week there first class hotel large room with poolside views robs and slippers supplied with optional piped music all day first class selection of food and that includes the three courses. The staff were friendly and helpfully. Also in the evening had a choice of two cabarets with stages at the back and poolside areas. Outside was the marina with bars and restaurants in plenty. Would definitely recommend this hotel and my wife and I would most certainly returnMore

Out of season?

Although a delightful island Menorca shuts down for 5 months from the end of October. Whilst the weather was fantastic and it felt we had the place to ourselves it did mean many services not being available. The Valentin Star hotel is nice enough but the location is not as good as it seems. It is a short walk to the beach and close to the small harbour, but definitely no sea views. We upgraded to a suite but whilst this gave a larger room the terrace was just big enough for two with a tiny strip of garden(?) before the view of an artificial hedge. This just screened us from the road and bars opposite. Fortunately they, and the rodeo bull, where closed for the season otherwise we could have had a noise problem. In season they close at 3 am!! The breakfast and evening buffets were the best we have ever had on this type of package. All freshly cooked and with a wide choice. Gluten free rolls were baked specially for us. Staff were delightful and very attentive. Unfortunately the standard did start to drop towards end of season closure and this was disappointing. Staff no doubt did their best but there did seem less of them as closing day got nearer. Hired a car to visit the rest of the island and can recommend Minurka in Cala n Bosch. Hose really looked after us. Small beach at Cala n Bosch with nice walks along the cliffs and coves. The beach attendants do seem to charge for loungers depending on their mood so negotiate. Will certainly visit Menorca again but Sant Tomas seems more suited to what we like. North side is rugged whilst south is sandy beaches and coves. Es Castell near Mahon has great views and restaurants.More
