We have just returned from our 25th wedding anniversary holiday, and we can certainly say it was fantastic. The Valentin Star is adult only the whole 2 weeks was relaxing, fun and perfect in everyway. All the staff were polite and friendly especially David the barman and Stefan head of entertainment. The restaurant was lovely, tables are mainly for couples, the food was fresh and lots of choice,I love pastries so I was in my element!! Breakfast was great Tea and Coffee was brought to your table in pots,so you don't have to keep walking to a machine everytime you wanted to top up.Everyday fresh omelettes, pancakes and fried eggs are cooked in front of you.We had a bottle of champagne given to us for our anniversary which was a lovelt gesture. The entertainment was 1st class,Stefan organized games during the day + pilates, yoga and meditation if you so wished. The acts in the evening were very good and they were finished by 11.15pm,so not to disturb earlybirds that go to bed. Finally our room was comfortable and spacious.Sandra the maid cleaned it every day and replenished the Teas,Coffee and biscuits. We had a pool view which I highly recommend.People who upgraded to the junior suites said their rooms were large but because they were facing outwards, although they were screened they felt abit cutoff. We will definitely return to this hotel,The only point I would like to make is men need long trousers for evening dining, this isn't advertised so make sure you take a pair with you!!More

managers should be sent here to see how its done
This is the first time i have been to Minorca I decided on this hotel because of the positive feed back of other reviewers. I was not disappointed I have stayed at many hotels some bad mostly good and a few that are outstanding. The Valentin Star is such a hotel on arrival I was given a moist towel at reception while being checked in, A bottle of sparkling wine was sent to the room within ten minutes (nice touch) the room was large with a sofa easy chair and fridge plenty of storage space and a good sized bathroom with background music. There are several doors to the pool area so no long walks down corridors to reach the pool and also the restaurant. The breakfasts are varied and of good quality I was brought coffee within a few minuets of sitting by possibly the most friendliest smiling staff I have encountered anywhere. The manager Juan was there to greet all morning and evenings it has to be said he runs that restaurant in a manner that makes the whole dinning experience a pleasure. The pool is large with plenty of sun beds no loud music or noisy activities that's not to say there are not activities is just that they are not excessively loud. The evening entertainment is excellent and varied. Drinks are good but I did think that the cost was a bit steep. about 4 Euros 50 for a beer cost out side 2.20 to 3.00 Euros. Location is good right on the Marina and ten minutes walk to the nearest beach it may be worth a mention that is not the biggest of beaches and are well used so not much room. There are many restaurants and a handful of bars around the Marina, Calan Bosch is not big by any stretch of the imagination but is a family type resort so a great many children running about even though the should still have been in school. If its a child free environment you want then don't venture out. especially in the evening I would like to finish by saying a big thank you to the management and all the staff for a most pleasurable stay. 10th - 17th JulyMore

A Week of Pure Fun!
The Valentin Star proved to be a fantastic hotel, perfectly situated near the marina! The staff were polite and extremely friendly. In particular, Jose the restaurant manager and Stefano from the entertainment team. The entertainment team were particularly great and very funny, ensuring the holiday was always fun with two acts/activities each evening! The rooms can not be faulted and were always very clean. The buffet always had a large variety on offer making each meal exciting. The main advantage to the hotel is that it does not allow kids, this made for a rather relaxing and peaceful pool area and peaceful meals. If you want a cheap, happy, fun holiday with good location and nice pool area then this is a perfect hotel. If I went back to Menorca, I would look into revisiting the Valentin Star!More

Excellent Hotel, Food and Surroundings
Me and my partner (age 27 & 28) stayed here for 7 nights for a relaxing holiday, and that was exactly what it was! The first thing we loved about the hotel was that it was adult only, so no screaming children. The condition of the hotel was excellent and the staff were superb, so friendly and very efficient. We went half board and initially only planned to have breakfast at the hotel (which was amazing btw) and then eat out in the harbour for every other meal as there was so much choice. We ate at Aquarium on the first night, which I highly recommend and then on our second night ate at another restaurant but we were disappointed by the slow service so only had a starter. As it was quite late we decided to go and get some food at the buffet in the hotel, and the food was so amazing and there was so much choice we decided to eat there every evening after that! All in all we were extremely pleased with the hotel, staff, hotel entertainment and the area itself and would definitely go back there again without hesitation!!More
