Hotel Valentin Star

This adults-only hotel has a huge pool, along with great views over Cala’n Bosch’s famous saltwater lake.

This just-for-adults hotel overlooks Cala’n Bosch marina and is just steps from the town’s restaurants and bars. There’s also a sandy Blue Flag beach just a 5-minute walk away.

The pool here’s a major feature – it’s long and curving. Main meals are covered at the buffet. And entertainment runs from morning ‘til night, with everything from language lessons to live shows.

5 Star all the way!

Myself and my friend have just returned from the Valentin Star. We chose this hotel due to it being an adult only hotel- and how bliss that was! When we arrived at 10pm we were welcomed with a cold flannel and cold bottle of water and whilst we were unpacking they called our room to say they had saved us dinner should we like some- so nice touches from the start. On arrival to our room again we were greeted by a bottle of champagne, very impressive! The room was large and spacious with plenty of storage. The bathroom was a lovely size and even had classical music which you could switch on and off and listen to if you wished! Food at the hotel was amazing- plenty of choice so you couldn't complain! My favourite night was the Mexican night- amazing food! The service was excellent- very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. The pool was huge and had plenty of sunbeds- we never had any problems at all getting a sun bed as you weren't allowed to reserve them. There was daily entertainment by the pool such as water volley ball and water aeobics. Also, another nice touch is that whilst you were lying by the pool, every day the staff would come round with snacks on a tray for everyone to try- again a lovely touch. All in all a fantastic place to stay- only a 2 minute walk to the marina-shops, bars and restaurants. I would also recommend the coach transfer to the airport from the hotel as it was only 14 euros per person as opposed to 80 euros in a taxi! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it you won't be disappointed!More

Excellent food, good location

Stayed for a week in June. Good location next to the Marina. The restaurant staff and the quality and variety of food was outstanding. The wine list was also of a good standard. Beautiful pool setting and the entertainment staff were enthusiastic and fun. The quality of evening entertainment was also way above those we have encountered in other Hotels in Spain. The only slight criticism I can offer is that the rooms, whilst very clean and comfortable, are a little dated in appearance. All in all, we would return again without a second thought.More

Excellent food and friendly staff

If I would be a critic then I would say that rooms are not decorated up to taste and outdated but who spends time in the room on holidays? Also shower/bath gel does not foam and is poor quality but hey - you can buy it in local supermarket. Water is hard and smells chlorine so take hair conditioner with you and also don't make tea in the room without using bottled water. Positives of this hotel are excellent food and dedicated staff. That is actually what makes my holiday. They deserve full solid four stars. We actually didn't have to go to local restaurants as we were on half board and there was a lot of variety of food to chose from including fish, prawns and theme food(Italian etc). We hired a car and it was easy to travel around to local beaches. I would definitely recommend this hotel. More

Excellent location, very friendly staff.

This hotel is in the best location in Cala'n Bosch, it is located directly on the Marina and thus the surrounding area has lots of restaurants and bars close at hand, Cala 'n Bosch is approximately a 1 hour journey from Mahon Airport and a taxi will cost 75 euros each way, plenty available from outside the Airport. All the hotel staff are extremely friendly, in particular the bar and pool bar team. This hotel is an Adults Only hotel and this makes it perfect for relaxing days around the pool and pleasent dining experience at Dinner and Breakfast, the food choice for Breakfast is excellent, for Dinner the Buffet offers good choice and there are always "show cooking" options available each evening, however, we did find the choice of food a little repetitive over the week and this is where the hotel loses a star on our rating, if the hotel was to offer an option of "A la Carte" waiter service dining for a supplement then this would be a very popular option amongst many guests. The pool area is fantastic, lots of beds and even though we stayed in peak season from 20th-27th Aug we never had a problem finding two together, the most popular area to find a sunbed is on the opposite side of the main reception area as this side faces the sun all day. We stayed in a lovely ground floor junior suite room (number 110), this had a small terrace with table and 2 chairs which overlooked the pool area, in our opinion pool view rooms are the best, if we was to book a standard room with pool view the very best positioned rooms are room numbers 310, 312, 314 and 316 on the top floor, but the chances of getting one of these rooms is probably quite slim, I guess every regular guest will request these as they not only overlook the pool but they also face directly to the entertainment stage area and you could sit in privacy on your balcony with a drink and watch the great evening entertainment that the hotel offers each night, this finishes at approximately 11.30pm. The cost of drinks in the hotel are not the cheapest, pint of san miguel and vodka with diet coke nearly 12 euros, the restaurant offered bottles of wine from 17 euros which in local shops would cost 5 euros or less, but almost all 4 star hotels would probably charge these type of prices. The old city of Ciutadella is just 35 minutes away by local bus number 65 which operates every 15 minutes and only cost 1.95 euros each way, definitely worth a trip to see. We also did the "Amigos" boat trip from Cala n' Bosch Marina to Cala Galdana, for 15 euros it was definitely worth the money to see the beautiful area of Cala Galdana, the trip is 4 hours long and you get 2.5 hours in Cala Galdana itself, however, we would not recommend this trip for the elderly, infirm or persons with very young children, this is due to the rather precarious disembarking procedure at Cala Galdana, which needs to be seen to be believed, especially in choppy waters when health and safety would definitely be questionable!! We would definitely stay at the Valentin Star Hotel again next time we are in Cala n' Bosch, we would probably choose a pool view junior suite again or one of the standard pool view room numbers stated above, we would also probably choose Bed & Breakfast option if this was available as there are so many nice restaurants to choose from on the Marina area and its nice to have a change of dining venue each evening. We thank all the hotel team for making our stay very enjoyable, we would have no problems in recommending your hotel to family and friends at anytime.More

Relaxing hotel in a great location.

We have stayed in the hotel previously but made a return to the hotel in June of this year. It didn't disappoint! The hotel was beautiful and I can't wait to return again. The location of the hotel is perfect - right on the marina where there are plenty of restaurants and bars. We had a ground floor room on the marina and had no problems at all with noise. It's a family resort so I don't think that would ever be an issue. Check in and out were both speedy and with polite and helpful staff. All of the staff were really friendly in particular the manager in charge of breakfast and the pool bar staff. The rooms were spotless and were cleaned each day with no issues at all. Most of the other guests throughout our stay were older and entertainment seemed to be more focused towards older guests. The pool was beautiful however had the usual problem of guests reserving sunbeds and then not using them for hours. It would be nicer for all if towels etc were removed if the bed hadn't been used for a long period of time. Breakfast was delicious with a large number of options and you could eat indoors or outside. We never used the hotel for dinner as there were so many restaurants in the marina. I don't think there is one thing I could complain about in the hotel, it literally was perfect and I'm looking forward to another return visit!More
