Hotel Sol Falco

With a pool for every day of the week, kids' fancy dress sessions, and acrobatic evening shows, the Hotel Sol Falco is a good call for families. On top of that, it's got an enviable location close to sandy Son Xoriguer Beach.

The Hotel Sol Falco has got the fun factor when it comes to facilities. Not only does this hotel have 7 swimming pools, it’s also got a games room that’s crammed with arcade games and pool tables, and a Yabba Dabba Doo shop that’s dedicated to The Flintstones.

The entertainment programme keeps things lively. During the day, children can get involved with fancy dress events, like pirate and superhero sessions, and creative workshops. In the evening, families can get together to watch shows, like acrobatics or flamenco dancing.

The hotel restaurant mixes the weekly menu up with theme nights and show cooking stations. The Italian corner is a big hit with kids, thanks to the freshly-baked pizzas.

Finally, the property is in a good location. It’s less than a 10-minute walk to Son Xoriguer Beach, which has a great reputation for watersports. Plus, it’s a 15-minute walk to the centre of Cala’n Bosch and its cafes, bars and restaurants.

Fantastic holiday

We always read reviews before we book, but having made our booking on last minute due to work commitments we were unsure about what to expect as some of the reviews were not good. we need not have worried had a really great time even though the hotel was packed first week the staff were lovely plenty of food choice room was fine (we were away from main pool) lots of families but we like that. Would definitely go again fantastic More

Nice place

The food was great, the rooms were clean, the staff were fantastic! A couple of mild niggles... 1. For a 'family' resort, the main room door locks are way too easy for toddlers to reach, unlock and open, we had to virtually barricade the doors to stop them getting out and running off. You need a door chain high up and out of reach, for safety and security. 2. The main pool is shallow and fine, but a lot of people complained that the next size up is too deep with no gradient, and so people couldn't enjoy being in it with their kids, as it meant constantly treading water and most just tried to hold onto the side. At least some rails round the pool side would help. Other than that, a great holiday, we really enjoyed it, thank you! More

Not as good as people say

Lets start with the negatives , got to hotel at 12-20am only to be told room wasent ready for another two hours was told we would be staying in a block called mansions so decided to go and look for it when finding it the cleaner had cleaned it and was coming out so we went for lunch after lunch we returned to reception only to be told it wasn't ready for half hour to which i looked puzzled but said nothing went away came back after half hour only to be told another 15 mins to which i questioned Receptionist got on phone and low and behold room was ready no appology . Another downsight is the animation team everything is in Spanish or Italian which seem funny because there is a lot of english guest in hotel .Also the bar there is a lot of waiting around for drinks as the main focus is on staff making coffee for the spaniards their local tipple .We stayed 7 nights and there was only 2 decent shows on the rest was the animation team and there awful they mime and cant dance .The good points of the hotel have to be the cleaners change of towels and clean bedding every day also the hotel is only 2 mins from the beach which i recommend (but watch out for the jellly fish ) food ok something for everyone paella every day to accomodate the large influx of spanish guests and they are rude dont know how to queue Can recommend a trip to marina for a meal its only a 10 min walk with loads of places to choose from I would definately come back to cala'n bocsh but not to the sol falcoMore

Nice enough hotel and resort for a short break. Best for families.

Stayed here for 5 nights, first time in Menorca. Rooms are a little tired but kept nice and clean by hardworking domestic staff. Pool areas are big with plenty of loungers (some of which were broken) really no need to reserve loungers at the crack of dawn but the Brits still do - embarrassing! No designated smoking areas outside so if you are a non smoker who likes fresh air you will likely have to move a few times to avoid people lighting up on the terrace and by the pool. Foodwise, large variety of ok food. Fresh fruits and breads were really lovely, cooked food was alright, average AI fare. Only had a vegetarian main dish on two occasions, veg paella one day and a Spanish omelette another, otherwise have to make meals from a variety of sides, but again this isn't unusual. Lots of different meat and fish choices. Salad bar had too many flies around it which was a shame as otherwise was good. Nicer to eat in the little paved courtyard than in the bustle of the dining room. Tables cleared slowly some days making it harder to find a space. All inclusive drinks weren't very nice but can pay extra for a decent brand/cocktail. Snacks available all day. You won't go hungry here! Entertainment - kids shows finished at ten then they had visiting performers in. Children will enjoy the resident Flintstones characters and the party dances. Actual resort small, built in the eighties so a little bit charmless. Nice little beaches though, cala n bosh prettier than the closer one but both within a 5-10 min walk. Gently sloping seas and clean soft sand. Nice walk to the lighthouse along the coast. Bus outside hotel takes you to Cuitadella which is a more traditional Spanish town with lots to see and explore. Overall, nice enough hotel, nice enough resort, but wouldn't have needed to stay longer to experience it all. More

Well I've got to say when we booked this hotel through Thomas Cook it was rated as a 4* upon arriving I noticed it had only 3*'s I was horrified and thought the worse. But I can honestly say it's one of the best hotels in menorca we have stayed at, the rooms were large and spacious fantastic bathroom but only a small balcony which we didn't mind as we don't go on holiday to sit in the room. The food was of an excellent standard always hot and plenty to choose from with show cooking lunch and evenings. There was plenty of pools to choose from although we always sat by the main pool, sunbeds were never an issue as there was plenty available throughout the day. The evening entertainment has got to be the best I've seen at an all inclusive hotel . The staff were all friendly and the hotel was of a very high standard throughout.we will definitely be returning. I've stopped in 4* hotels many times before and they were not as a high standard as the sol falco .More
