  • Excellent rooms

  • Relaxing spa
“If you’re looking for somewhere you can relax in style, the Turquesa Mar won’t fail to impress.”
You’ll find this chic little place in the popular resort of Cala’n Bosch, which is home to a pair of sandy beaches. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as a busy harbour where you can hop on a boat and explore the rocky coves that edge the island.

As for the hotel itself, with 4Ts under its belt, there’s plenty in the way of facilities. Not only is there a fully-equipped gym, but also a spa with a menu that stars a hot chocolate massage. But not everything here is geared towards adults. There’s a special pool area for children, as well as a baby pool for toddlers. Or they can let off steam at the playground and kids’ club.

As for the main swimming pool, it looks like a water feature in an Italian courtyard. Think a long, rectangular stretch of water edged with tiles and with a bridge cutting across it. It’s framed by a sun terrace offering up plenty in the way of loungers and parasols.

On the food front, meals here are about big buffets, complete with show cooking. For after-dinner drinks, head to the lounge bar – they’ve got a great cocktail menu. And if you’re looking for something a bit more lively, there’s an entertainment programme featuring music and shows.

Your guide to Cala'n Bosch, Menorca

"Super for families and couples seeking lazy beach days and buzzing nightlife, this appealing marina resort draws holidaymakers back year after year."

Cala’n Bosch is a result if you’re longing for some fun downtime. Developed in the 1980s and still gleaming in the sun with its attractive, whitewashed buildings, it’s genius at providing carefree holidays just the way the British like them.

The first good thing is its location on Menorca’s gorgeous south west. Here, gentle countryside scattered with terracotta-topped villas and apartments gathers around a man-made lake and pristine marina, overlooked by inviting restaurants, Spanish bars and gift shops. Look a bit closer and a cute funfair and aqua park get in on the action, offering a welcome breather whilst the kids hit the rides.

Whether you’re on the lookout for souvenirs or indulging in a wicked night on the town, the marina is undoubtedly where it’s at. In fact, when the sun dips below the horizon, the place ups the ante, with traditional Menorcan restaurants, lively bars and a dance floor or two supplying everything from a quiet family supper to a blast with friends.

Just a stroll away lie two peachy beaches. Like many in Menorca, they make up for being small by being truly scrumptious. Whilst the main beach keeps things simple with decent amenities and amazingly blue waters, Son Xoriguer, just out of town, lays on loads of watersports. Both are incredibly child-friendly, with safe, shallow waters and soft, gently sloping sands.

Sightseeing and shopping junkies won’t be left out either. Take a glass-bottomed boat to marvel at Menorca’s underwater life or swim and snorkel in nearby bliss-inducing bays. Or stay on land, heading for Cuidadela’s beautiful Moorish old quarter for an unforgettable day’s souvenir searching capped by a harbourside dinner at sunset.
