You get a big pool and a choice of bars at this hotel, which is just a stone’s throw from a pretty beach.
This hillside complex overlooks the sea. On top of this, it flaunts the full round-up of bars, with everything from an English pub to a laid-back piano bar serving cocktails. For meals, there's a buffet restaurant offering live show cooking.
It’s less than a five-minute walk to the crescent-shaped, sandy beach – there’s a walkway opposite the hotel that’ll take you straight there. And it’s not much further to restaurants and bars.

Lovely hotel, wonderful location
We stayed in the Villas with our young daughter and loved Cala Galdana. The hotel pool and restaurant were lovely and the half board buffet excellent - we especially enjoyed the fruit and bread at breakfast and the fresh grill section for supper. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Oscar in the restaurant and Danny & Vanessa in the mini club. The pool was clean and very safe with good lines of site for parents of adventurous littles! We'd booked a 1 bed apartment and were very grateful to be upgraded to a 2, however given the choice I wouldn't pick 1020 again as it had no balcony and was quite noisy from the bars below. The apartment itself was spacious with air con and a good kitchenette however a little dated. The hotel, villa area and pool were immaculately clean and Cala Galdana is so beautiful, you are a 2 min walk from the beach. We will be back.More
The hotel is well suited to those with mobility problems as Cala Galdana can be quite hilly. Its very close to the beach and the shops/restaurant areas. It is a well run ,clean ,pleasant hotel with friendly staff. I particularly liked the way the pool area was managed. It did not open until 9am and any towels put out before that time were collected by the pool attendant so no dawn raids as you're wasting your time. There are no sun beds out before 8.45am as the pool area doubles as the entertainment seating area in the evening so be prepared to leave the pool area before you'd probably want as the beds are put away and seating put out.The pool snack bar was very good and reasonably priced with terrific service There are no cheap bars to be found at the hotel £ 4.50 for a large beer not a pint and the exchange is almost 1 euro to 1 pound. Gin and a mixer were £6.80 .If you go to the supermarket nearby a litre of beer is £1.40.A little tip best time to get a drink is 6pm-7pm two for one in the cocktail lounge, have your evening meal, out the hotel turn left and 50yards away is a nice little bar with a happy hour until 8.45pm. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained although the balconies are a bit small. We had a sea view room which was nice and a good view of the entertainment from the balcony. I can't speak for the back rooms but they appeared to face a cliff face.On the whole a good holiday spoiled by the exchange rate but that's the way things are going. Not the hotels fault. The entertainment stopped about 11pm and all is then quiet.More
Not a 4 star hotel
1. Again another hotel that does not know how to deal with sun beds. Its not a rocket science, allocate sun beds to guests on arrival, and that is their's for the duration of their stay. It would put a stop to the endless scramble at 9am every morning by guests to place their towels on the available beds before their breakfast or walk to the shops. The second part to this issue, is that the hotel do not place out anywhere near the number of beds required for all the guests(it should be noted that if this took place there would be no room arounf the pool which again is far too small for the number of guests), in fact the hotel must rely on a number of guests going to the nearby beach to help them out. WARNING this will result in guests having to pay dependent on their stay between 190 to 266 euros to hire beds and umbrellas on the beach. 2.Also have anything between 30 to 40 euros to pay a tourism tax because this is a four star category hotel. 3. Do not waste money on any long trousers for evening dining, this is not enforced, in fact some guests were regularly attired in vests and beach shorts, and on our last day a child going around on roller blades whilst guests were carrying plates of hot food back to their tables. 4. For evening dining you only have a choice of two lagers or wine/ or water, you cannot order spirits or any other forms of alcohol, absurb for a four star hotel. 5. The suite we had was thoroughly cleaned every day by the staff, but some of the furnishings were in a tatty condition and needed replacing. Yes we had a good holiday, and this was achieved by dining out some evenings at two local restaurants, which I have commended elsewhere in other reviews.More

First time to Menorca.
Cala Galdana is beautiful, we were given one of the villas overlooking the sea , very spacious and spotlessly clean. The food was very good always plenty of choice. There is coastal walk which takes you to three lovely little beaches,Macarelleta being our favourite. There is also a gorge which is a nice walk from the hotel which is very interesting. The bus stop across the road from hotel takes you into Cuitedella which is worth a visit. Would recommend this hotel staff food very good. We went in May 2016. More
Adrian Edward S,
Returned after a few years but dissapointed
I originally went to this hotel about 10 years ago and found it to be a nice hotel, returned the following year to find it had gone downhill and they tried to palm us off with one of the 2 bed villas, which are very nice, but not if you are travelling with another couple as you have to share the facilities. Returned this year hoping all would be better, but for the Reception to say they have upgraded us to 2 bed apartment for 4. I said 'no thank you' we want want we paid for, 2 x double rooms. Ok they said. They gave us keys to the 2 rooms to find they were interconnecting family rooms, Smaller than what we paid for. So after staying in there one night after requesting to be moved, we finally got what we paid for. I wouldn't mind if we booked this last minute, but we booked it 9 months before departure. Why can't just give you what you paid for in the first place. I also found the restaurant staff to be unaccommodating.More
