Close to restaurants, bars and the beach, the Villa Joan gives you easy access to Cala Blanca’s hotspots.
If a beachside setting is at the top of your holiday wish list, take a look at Villa Joan. This traditional holiday home is just a ten-minute walk from the fine sands of Cala Blanca. The limestone cliffs that line this section of shore act as a natural windbreaker, so you’ll be sheltered when you sunbathe. And the beach slopes gently into the sea, making it a great place to swim.

Back at the villa, the outdoor scene steals the show. A long swimming pool rolls out in the villa’s terrace like a red carpet, and the whole area is surrounded by a belt of mature gardens, so you’ll have plenty in the way of privacy.

Lookswise, the property is a rustic affair. Outside, the whitewashed walls are broken up by green window shutters, while the interior is all tiled floors and wooden furniture. Walls full of windows complete the look by flooding each room with light.

When it comes to cooking, this place has all the self catering staples, including a fridge-freezer, microwave and a toaster. And the in-house entertainment comes in the form of a satellite TV.

If you’d rather be out and about, the villa’s doorstep is peppered with places to explore. You can walk to the tavernas and bars of Cala Blanca in ten minutes. Or, you can get to the old Catalan village of Cuidadela in the same time by car – lots of the houses here are decorated with 17th-century coats of arms.

Your guide to Cala Blanca, Menorca

"A relaxed, small-resort feel and tiny, jewel-like coves … the perfect family holiday is ready and waiting in modern Cala Blanca. "

Sometimes the best things in life come in small, bite-sized parcels. And once you’ve come to Cala Blanca, you’ll know it’s true.
Perfect for a relaxed family holiday, this small modern resort enjoys an impressive position – just south of Cuidadela on Menorca’s picturesque west coast. Clustered round a centre of shops, bars and pubs, its beachside restaurants and hotels front a strand of tiny, dainty coves astonishing for their beauty. Here, dazzling waters shine like jewels in their rocky settings, while their calm, shallow waves tumble lightly onto white sands. If you’ve got small children, it’s the kind of safe seaside playground that you dream about. And if you’re into snorkelling and dabbling around with a few gentle watersports, you won’t be disappointed either. Just grab your beach stuff, jump on the mini-train trundling along the shoreline, find your perfect cove and enjoy.
Away from these little hunks of heaven, there’s a good selection of eateries, bars and shops to fill up your time and gradually empty your wallet, many boasting gorgeous vistas over Cuidadela. Instead of just enjoying this lovely town from a distance, make sure you experience its charms close-up. Hop on a bus and spend a memorable day shopping and eating out in its sun-drenched cobbled streets and harbourside. Alternatively, go discover some of Menorca’s peaceful interior - a land of rich, green landscapes, whitewashed villages and strange prehistoric stone monuments.
Come sundown, evenings are what you make of them in Cala Blanca. Whether it’s a quiet waterfront meal, sampling Cala’s sociable bars or indulging in the livelier haunts of nearby Santandria – it’s easy to finish your perfect day with a perfect night.
