Fiesta Hotel Castell Playa

There’s Thomson Gold entertainment every night at this hotel, though you’re just a short walk from the bars and restaurants.

This place is on a hill, looking out over the sandy bay. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the bars and restaurants. And it’s no further to the beach, yet the hotel runs a courtesy bus there.

There’s a good-sized pool with a roomy sun terrace. For meals, there’s a buffet restaurant, and you also get a choice of bars. As for entertainment, you can see professional acts, cabaret and live music by the pool.

Great hotel

My husband and myself had had a fab 2 week holiday at castell playa, staff at this hotel work hard and exceed expectations, food excellent lots to chose from. Thomson reps work hard to entertain customers day and night, evening shows very good. Room very clean we had a room over looking the pool, if you like early nights book a sea view room due to noise from entertainment until midnight.. The resort is Breath taking but if you have problems with walking this is not the resort for you lots of steps to the beech. Would return to this hotel.More

a very good 3star

we've just returned from a two week stay here. It is a very good 3* hotel but not quite a 4*. The hotel is a little tired but our room although basic, was very clean. The room was also cleaned every day and fresh towels supplied. I was disappointed on arrival that we did not have a sea view (didn't book one) but actually it was good to over look the pool. The sun came round about 12 noon and stayed until it went down. It was lovely to sit out on the balcony before getting showered ready for the evening. The sunbeds around the pool were a little cramped but we had no problem getting a bed on the few occasions we stayed there and the bar service was great. The food was pretty good, lots of choice. I did get busted by grump on the door when I tried to sneak a butty out for lunch on the first day we were going to the beach all day. I should've taken my beach bag and filled it, like everyone else did!! I was amazed there was no free snacks during the day. Well what can I say about the resident duo Mellow Yellow ...... typical hotel entertainers but Ludo on occasions sounded like the chef from the Muppets. He should've stuck to playing his piano and let Amy do the singing. The other live acts weren't brilliant and because the whole resort is quiet it was either stay and watch or sit in the lounge and watch the footie. The Thomson reps did their best and kept people entertained with various things to do in the day and they always kicked off the evening entertainment too, they were a great bunch of girls and well done for doing the ice bucket challenge. The age range of the guests was quite varied but they seemed to do something for everyone. It was brilliant the hotel is adults only, no screaming kids. All of the hotel staff were very friendly and they worked extremely long days but still had a smile for you, nothing was too much trouble. We spent many days on the beautiful beach which for us the walk down and back up the steps was not much of a problem, we did see some older people struggling. Some days the sea had a surf which was really good and then the next day it would be lovely and calm. We hired a moped for two days which was absolutely fantastic. The views from Mount Toro were amazing and we found some beautiful little coves. I thought the caves of Xoroi would be better than they were. Its a great idea and I bet the nightclub in there is ace but for the price we paid to get in I thought there was going to be more caves. All in all we had a lovely relaxing two weeks in the sun. If I wanted another holiday to just chill out I would go back but not for two weeks. It is a shame there isn't a few more things to do around.More

Great Holiday

We spent a week in the hotel and were delighted with the experience. Our room with sea view friendly staff and great food beside lovely horseshoe beach makes a return visit likely. We enjoyed the evening entertainment and a trip to Mahon by local bus was worthwhile. The reps were great and didn't impose if you didn't want them to. It is a Spanish hotel so don't expect what you get at home. Thank you to all at Fiesta!More

Happy holiday

From book-in to book-out a most enjoyable experience. We had a sea view room which gave use great sun rises and cooler evenings, the room was on the landing next to the lift with some noise at times from other guests. Spa bath was an added luxury only real niggle was a squeaky bed!!!!More

Lovely relaxing place

This was our first Thomson gold holiday. First the negatives but please read on it's not all bad. The 'all inclusive' is not quite, the room safes are not free, nor are the poolside towels and the food is only available at normal meal times 3 times a day not all day long. Men be aware that you must take a pair of long trousers to enter the dining room on an evening, nowhere in the Thomson information does it tell you this!! Now for the plus points (which far outweigh the negatives). The place is beautiful, the rooms are lovely, if you like to sunbathe on your balcony then a sea view room is for you as you get the morning sun. If you want a pool view then on an evening you can sit on your balcony and watch the evening entertainment. The pool area is very large and the saving of sun beds and disappearing for the day to the beach is not allowed. You could sit/lay on you bed for the day without ever leaving it if you wished as the waiting staff are always around asking if you need a drink. The restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner is packed with a huge variety of food. I defy even the most fussy person to say that there wasn't anything that they liked. The entertainment staff work very hard every day of the week. The evening entertainment is good too, with a resident duo on 6 out of 7 nights a week. And there is also an outside group/comedian as well as the resident duo each night. We have stayed in many all inclusive hotels and this is a good one in my opinion. We would definitely return here and it' s also adults only.More
