Fiesta Hotel Castell Playa

There’s Thomson Gold entertainment every night at this hotel, though you’re just a short walk from the bars and restaurants.

This place is on a hill, looking out over the sandy bay. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the bars and restaurants. And it’s no further to the beach, yet the hotel runs a courtesy bus there.

There’s a good-sized pool with a roomy sun terrace. For meals, there’s a buffet restaurant, and you also get a choice of bars. As for entertainment, you can see professional acts, cabaret and live music by the pool.

good hotel , location remote

First thing to say is that we had an enjoyable holiday. We had a sea view which had a great view of the bay. The room was comfortable and spacious. Unfortunately the cleaning was hit and miss regarding the time of the cleaning. As early as 9 in the morning but usually as late as 4 in the afternoon.the food was a good standard and a fair variety dishes for main course and dessert. The bar staff in the main bar were hard working. Special mention to Antonio behind the bar and Paco the waiter. The Thomson entertainment team worked hard and generally succeeded in keeping the guests entertained. The evening acts were ok. A bit hit and miss. Thought Mellow Yellow were average. The keyboard player had a 10minute slot on his own which was a bit depressing. The pool area is what you come to expect at any resort these days. WE are told not to reserve beds before 10 but some people do. One couple and their granddaughter left towels on their sunbeds and did not use them until after one. Cant blame the Germans. we Brits are just as bad. If you stay at this hotel all inclusive is the best option as the resort has only a couple of bars .More

Menorca Holiday

Hotel was first class, food excellent. If you can't find something you like you have a problem. Though only being allowed two sachets of milk per day for tea and coffee was mean. Had to supplement with restaurant milk.Fresh, much better. I felt the hotel was a little isolate and had expected it to be nearer a centre of population. A hire car is an essential unless you like coach trips. Hotel is close to the beach though there is a steep climb back up and it never got any easier. Great beach. But sunbeds and brollies at 15 Euros for how ever long you had them I thought was extortionate. One thing I found disconcerting was our first meal in the evening. We entered the restaurant and were confronted with a sea of white and grey haired people shuffling aimlessly around. I thought I had entered a scene from "The Living Dead. I'm 69 and my wife is we fit into that category but had never seen so many oldies in the one place. I can't imaging how the few "young" people must have felt. All in all a great hotel with excellent staff and great support from the Thomson reps. Expect to put weight on ! More

maybe 31/2 not 4 star though

staff very helpful and efficient and thomson reps brilliant. food excellent and plenty of choice we stayed all inclusive and would recomend this.Entertainment was brilliant service from bar staff excellent. Only down side was only having one pool the sun beds were crammed together and very hard to get one the pool bar has only a very small seating area having said that you never wait long for a drink to be brought round to you. if you are a non smoker there is little if any place outside you can be away from cigarette smoke. Not much to do outside and the walk to the beach is down 145 steps but there is a regular courtesy bus. be warned there are only 3 or 4 local shops but these sell most things you would need including a very helpful pharmacy nearby.would we return probably not but that is because we like our own space not a reflection on the service.More

Great Hotel

Just returned from a week at this lovely Hotel. Negatives first- when we booked the hotel we emailed Luis at the hotel asking for our rooms to be the higher floors and we ended up on the 1st and 3rd floors so emails seem to be ignored because the hotel was half empty. The hotel needs a bit of updating with regards to paintwork and carpets. Now for the positives- we booked two superior rooms which were large and clean. The food was always hot and you had plenty of choice even if you are a fussy eater you will always find something you like. All the staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly and I must mention Katia at the pool and Zaida who worked at the bars who were exceptional at what they did. The entertainment team were also very good at what they did with Shaney's knowledge on wines and the local area quite outstanding and the rest of the team were well managed by Sam. The resident duo were Mellow Lellow who played most nights and didn't seem to play the same song twice, very enjoyable. The cabarets each night were as good as we've seen at any hotel that we have stayed at. The local area was very quite but this is mainly due to it being the end of the summer season.More

great holiday

the hotel was very clean and tidy, the staff very helpful and always had a smile for you. the food was good with a good choice every day. the rooms are spacious and tidy. the steps down to the beech are a bit much if you are a little infirm. but the hotel will take you down and pick you up in the bus . the only other thing is that the pool area does not have a no smoking area, this is not so good if you don't smoke. but over all a good holiday.More
