You get a bird’s eye view of Arenal d’en Castell when you stay at the Fiesta Hotel Castell Playa. The property is set on top of a hill, so it looks out over the resort’s sandy bay and the Mediterranean Sea.
It’s easy to get out and about when you stay here. The town’s beach, bars and restaurants are just a five-minute walk away. Plus, the hotel runs a shuttle bus service to the beach, six days a week.
The hotel itself is a peaceful place, because it’s not got many neighbours. You’ll have no trouble relaxing as you laze on your sunlounger by the large L-shaped swimming pool.
Finally, the Fiesta Hotel Castell Playa is part of the Thomson Gold collection, so you can expect great things on the food and entertainment front. The main restaurant puts on big buffets every night and, after dinner, comedians, singers and dance acts perform by the poolside.

We stay here for the first time in July 2013 and it was lovely. The hotel is lovely the staff are so friendly that when you meet then in the town on there time off they would smile and say hello and ask you if you where having a good holiday. The hotel rooms are good only thing I would say to who every designs these rooms they need drawers for underwear please. the food was well cooked and lots to choice. We loved are stay so much we have booked to go back on the 19th may this year (can't wait).More

The views from this hotel are breath taking. Our room was clean and comfortable and the view from the balcony overlooked the pool but could see the bay from the side. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially lydia on reception who always greeted with a smile. The food was varied each night and I really enjoyed the themed nights, especially trying paella. The desserts was very nice with fresh fruit. The swimming pool are was lovely but as it was peak season the sun beds went so early that we had to get up very early to save a sun bed as this is what everyone else was doing. Special mention to bar and waiter staff they work so very hard. Bringing drinks as soon as you have finished the last. They worked so hard right from morning to evening, Welldone especially to Paco! The area of Arenal d'en Castell was very beautiful and tranquil but maybe a little quiet if you are fancying a little more bustle but perfect for a relaxing get a way. The weather was beautiful and the beach one of the best I have been to. Such a lovely holiday. Thank you Fiesta Castell Playa staff!More

A week is not long enough
Our first visit in September 2013 was definitely not long enough, so in October we booked our return visit - this time for a fortnight. The food was always excellent at every meal, with all tastes being catered for - generally we chose to eat early. Our room on the 6th. floor with a balcony overlooking the pool area was as we had requested, with no overhead noise from " late night removal of furniture noise " !!!! One small point, we do feel the charge for the room safe, which is needful for total security,is somewhat excessive. The facilities, entertainment, friendly and very helpful members of staff throughout the hotel without exception are those which made our stay so enjoyable. As we are not lovers of either pool or beach swimming or sunbathing, preferring to visit local towns and villages, we were delighted to find that there is an excellent local bus service - no real need to hire a car - which with planning will allow you to see all that Minorca has to offer. Shopping and sightseeing in Mahon is a must. We are both very much looking forward to our return this September .More

Not for us
Stayed here in October for one week... Hotel situated at top of a hill, not too bad to walk it, we're in our 40s and didn't have a problem. Staff friendly on reception. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the beautiful bay. Our room was very nice. The beach is lovely, probably the best thing about the holiday actually. The food was nice. The men have to wear long trousers into the restaurant, which was pretty pointless really as in the daytime you could wear your shorts that you'd been swimming in and laid on the beach in if they were dry!! A couple of times we did see people in full tracksuits in the evening? How are they long trousers?? The people were quite rude and tended to push in the queues quite alot, mainly the elderly ones! Entertainment = awful. The bar in the entertainment lounge, takes ages getting served, the staff tend to ignore you and concentrate on their waiters coming over for service.... The whole place is extremely dated and could do with a makeover. To sum up, this holiday was average, the weather was awful, rained most days, and we won't be going back...More
