Fiesta Hotel Castell Playa

There’s Thomson Gold entertainment every night at this hotel, though you’re just a short walk from the bars and restaurants.

This place is on a hill, looking out over the sandy bay. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the bars and restaurants. And it’s no further to the beach, yet the hotel runs a courtesy bus there.

There’s a good-sized pool with a roomy sun terrace. For meals, there’s a buffet restaurant, and you also get a choice of bars. As for entertainment, you can see professional acts, cabaret and live music by the pool.

Another wonderful stay

This was our second visit, first time seven years ago, and all was as we remembered. A beautiful hotel, lovely pool, very friendly staff, great entertainment. We paid the extra for a sea view, always worth it as the views of this beautiful resort are gorgeous. Sitting on the balcony and looking at the view is always a highlight for us. We do love a balcony!! The food is good with plenty of choice every night. We also love that it is adult only, now being of an age where we enjoy peace and quiet, you could hear a pin drop around the pool first thing in the morning with everyone enjoying the sun, sleeping or reading, bliss. The resort has everything you need with good bars, a few shops and a wonderful beach. The only slight downside of this island is the wind which can be very strong, 40 kmph for a couple of days we were there. It was still sunny and very hot but can be trying to sit out inMore

NOT REALLY THE 4 STAR IT PRETENDS TO BE

Having read a large number of reviews that others had written about this hotel we decided to take the plnge and try it for ourselves. Whilst i will agree with some of the comments of others concerning the staff, the vast majority of whom were excellent, the two outstanding ones were Paco and Jesus who ran around the pool area taking orders and delivering drinks like athletes in training and how they recalled who order what is still beyond my comprehension. The management however, have really got to get to grips with the 'All-inclusive' side of things I was well aware that we had to pay for the safe, that is a standard in the vast majority of all-inclusive deals wherever you go. But bar snacks at the pool side come on, plus why does all inclusive end at mid day on the day of departure, it should end when you get on the bus to go to the airport. We did not get to the hotel till 20:00 on our day of arrival, but I bet the tab for our room was set up from mid day and we hadn't even left the UK then. Do NOT bother trying to get a wifi signal at the hotel it is virtually non existent and as for those that decided to pay for it... well sorry does not cut it as far as I am concerned. The food on the whole was good with a reasonable choice via the buffet set up. But it would have been nice to have had something simple at lunch time by the pools rather that the massive selection offered in the restauant the vast amount of which probaly ended up in the waste bins. All in all we had a good time which was mainly down to the staff and entertainment teams, some of the acts were really great but others it was easier to go to the quiet bar and sitchatting rather than endure items suchas the John Lennon and Paul McCartney tribute, who murdered some great hits from the pastMore

Lynn

We stayed here last week and the only thing that makes this hotel is the staff and the food. The Hotel says it is completely refurbished it is not, its tired, rooms are dated carpets threadbare and in our room the floor was cracked and raised. We stayed on the 4th floor pool side entertainment till 12 then the permanent moving of sunbeds and chairs from early morning, one morning a pressure washer going at 6 o'clock. Even the collection of recycled bottles at half one in the morning. The staff however are lovely always happy and work so hard, The food is really good and lots of choice. I would really recommend the sea view rooms if you like to sleep. More

3rd stay at this hotel and great again!

We stayed 8-15th July. Heatwave the first 4 days and then terrific winds the last 3 days. Sunbeds were being blown around the pool but the staff kept going! Credit to them. This was our 3rd stay in this hotel and we still love it. As with all the other reviews, the staff are all excellent. We missed seeing Ludmila there this year but hope she returns for when we stay again. We had a sea view room which again was excellent. Fantastic views and the little extras were great. Cleaning staff were amazing! Food was always hot and plenty to choose from. We never had a problem getting a sunbed everyday. The entertainment, I thought, had improved from previous years. Great comedians and Sam and Sophie kept the guests well entertained during the day and evening. The Thomson's staff are all very professional but great fun too! I am an asthmatic but I managed the walk back up from the beach. We took the courtesy bus down. The ONLY negative I have is the Wifi. Non existent really which is a shame. Overall though a fantastic hotel with amazing staff. We hope to return for many years to come!More

Amazing staff will ensure you have a great holiday

Just returned from a weeks stay here, great place. The food is the best I have experienced from an AI hotel, great choice & always hot, don't forget to grab a serviette to hold the very hot plates! You would have to be a really picky eater to not find something you like from the large choice available here, don't think I ever saw any food left on the plates by diners. The staff here are amazing, the most attentive I have ever come across, your drink will never run dry here when Paco is on duty at the poolside bar, the man is a machine! The other waiters were great too, how they remember everyone's drinks amazes me. Entertainment reps Sam & Sophie are very talented, great singing voices as well as good fun at the daily sporting activities, nothing too onerous! Place is spotless, maid service was impressive - bed turn down & chocolates in the suite each night was a nice touch, basket of fruit & red wine in the suite on arrival & the safe is free in suites. Epi & his restaurant staff were quietly efficient but very welcoming & reception staff were all so friendly, will definitely return. The only, very slight negative is that the Hotel looks a little tired in places & would benefit from a refresh, needs some new carpet in the room corridors & landings & our room needed a paint, bits of the paper/paint were peeling off in places - don't let this put you off this lovely hotel though. I would recommend a sea view room for the views & peace & quiet, the other rooms overlook the pool & entertainment area which could be noisy if you did not wish to be entertained, but quite handy if you want to sit on your balcony & get a good view. We stayed in room 245 which was a sea view suite, no sleep disturbance, just a great restful week. Guests were mainly in the 40+ age group, English, great atmosphere & really friendly.More
