There’s Thomson Gold entertainment every night at this hotel, though you’re just a short walk from the bars and restaurants.
This place is on a hill, looking out over the sandy bay. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the bars and restaurants. And it’s no further to the beach, yet the hotel runs a courtesy bus there.
There’s a good-sized pool with a roomy sun terrace. For meals, there’s a buffet restaurant, and you also get a choice of bars. As for entertainment, you can see professional acts, cabaret and live music by the pool.

Brilliant hotel !
This was our first visit to the Castell Playa hotel but it won't be our last ! From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and looked after by the hotel staff , but loved the fact that one of the Thomson reps greeted us as we checked in and had a refreshing drink waiting (thank you Chris !!). We cannot fault this hotel at all. All the staff are so friendly and helpful , nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing, so much choice ! There is food cooked to order as well as food ready to eat, and the desserts are wonderful (especially the chocolate cake !!) Everything is so clean , from the rooms to the restaurant to the sofas in the bar areas. Now the entertainment. Fabulous !!. The Thomson Gold hosts run the daytime activities, which you can choose to join in or not, no pressure, and in the evening the same team host (and sometimes provide some of )the entertainment . Thank you Mark, Lucy and Natalie for all your hard work. The resident musicians Mellow Yellow (Amy and Ludo) are so talented , with an extensive repertoire and requests welcomed. We were truly amazed by singer Chris Lafferty, a lovely lad from Leeds , very talented. The hotel is up on a hill, but a courtesy bus is provided, so no worries there. The resort itself is quiet with a few bars / cafés, and a couple of supermarkets, but the beach is well worth a visit with the big horseshoe shaped bay and shallow water. I wouldn't change a thing here, thank you to everyone xMore

Still a really good hotel
Been to this hotel approx. 9 times The staff are absolutely fantastic. Paco never stops running about the poolside to ensure that everyone has plenty to drink. As does all the other waiters. The restaurant staff are also wonderful. with two of them crying when we went home. The food I think is the best you can get. There is something for everyone and its always piping hot. The rooms could do with a bit updating but they are always clean and pleasant. The reception staff are so pleasant to everyone and they always recognise you as a return customer. My only gripe about the hotel is the All Inclusive. I do not like all inclusive hotels I think it attracts the wrong type of person to the hotel i.e. heavy drinkers. People were drinking pints of lager at 10 o'clock in the morning. so when the games started they were rather loud. I like people to play the games and have a good time but to have water polo twice in a week with loud shouting and cheering was a bit too much for those of us who went to the upper deck to sunbathe and read our books and have a bit of quiet. All in all its a really good hotel with good staff and good food and I must say good entertainment. Mellow Yellow are a really good duo and this was their second year here. The professional acts were excellent well done Thomsons. Pity you cant have the professional acts in the Marina Panorama where I will probably be in September. Their entertainment is dreadful. . Keep up the good work Castell Playa and we will see you next year. This year we did miss our bottle of Cava which we usually get on our anniversary but not this year .More

Love this hotel
We have just returned from our 5th or 6th visit to this lovely hotel. It may not be 5* luxury but what it does have is the most amazing staff you could ask for. Our last visit was two years ago and on arrival Belissa and Veronica on reception greeted us with a hug and a smile. We asked for a high quiet room and that is exactly what we were given. The cleaners are constantly making sure all areas are spotless and all staff work tirelessly to make our stay as good as it could possibly be. The Thomson reps are on hand a lot of the day to sort out queries or just for a chat. The entertainment team do their best to amuse with the daytime games and the evening entertainment. There are plenty of newly replaced sunbeds and umbrellas around a very clean pool with the most cheerful life guard we have ever come around. The rooms are fine with a fridge and tea making facilities and a safe at an extra cost. We choose a sea view which we willingly pay extra for because of the amazing views of the beautiful bay. The restaurant is cool and airy and you are always welcomed in by Epi and or one of the many fabulous staff who work so hard to make sure you enjoy your meals. The food is varied and something for everyone even a fussy eater like my husband and me who is Lactose intolerant. Again the bars are manned by more very hard working staff who are there to wait on you with speed. The only down side to this hotel is the position which is perched on top of the hill and those with mobility problems may find this difficult. The hotel runs a mini bus free of charge down to the beach which is worth using to walk along the clear water of the horseshoe bay. There aren't many shops in the resort itself but is that is what you want to do a trip into Mahon is a must. A really good way to see the rest of the beautiful Island of Menorca is to hire a car and drive yourself checking out the incredible places of interest. It is the staff that is the reason for us returning to this hotel time after time, caring lovely people too many to mention by name and that is why we will be returning hopefully next year for another relaxing, fun and wonderful holiday. Thank you Castell Playa.More
Most Relaxing stay
Having just returned from the Fiesta Hotel Castell Playa, I can say we had a wonderful time. The food is always hot and freshly cooked, and there is also an extensive range of Salads, there is a different theme every night (weekly basis) and I would say there is something for everyone. The hotel itself is spotless and kept clean by a very hardworking cleaning staff. There are a few tired area's but you have to look for them. The catering and bar staff are brilliant I have never seen such hardworking friendly staff, special mentions to Paco (morning wanna drink, What?) and Jose. The evening entertainment team were very good an catered for all musical tastes. The local area is fairly isolated, there are a couple of shops, restaurants and bars but there are local busses to take you where you want to go, but I would reccomend hiring a small car to get arround the island, you can visit all of it in three days. On the whole a most enjoyable holiday.More
