There’s Thomson Gold entertainment every night at this hotel, though you’re just a short walk from the bars and restaurants.
This place is on a hill, looking out over the sandy bay. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the bars and restaurants. And it’s no further to the beach, yet the hotel runs a courtesy bus there.
There’s a good-sized pool with a roomy sun terrace. For meals, there’s a buffet restaurant, and you also get a choice of bars. As for entertainment, you can see professional acts, cabaret and live music by the pool.
There's a good-size swimming pool here that comes complete with a wraparound sun terrace. Sunloungers, parasols and daybeds are lined up along either side. You can borrow pool towels if you pay a deposit.
These contemporary twin rooms are designed with a stylish feel. You’ll have an additional bed. Outside there’s also a balcony overlooking the sea for that extra bit of space. Plus there’s a TV and air-conditioning is available from May to October.
These single rooms are designed with a stylish yet cosy feel. If you go through the french doors, you’ll find a balcony for that extra bit of space outside. There’s a flat screen TV. Plus air-conditioning is available from May to October.
I was meant to be going here with my family however, due to unforeseen circumstances I ended up going by myself. I was a little anxious as being a female in her mid 20sI had never been abroad by myself. I have to say I absolutely loved it. I had a sea view so waking up to the stunning view of the beach was the perfect start to each day. The room was a good size and was clean. Bathroom was good and had everything I needed.
Food was great too my only problem was deciding what to eat each day.
I have a few mobility problems so getting into the pool was a bit of a problem as I found it rather slippery on the slope that goes into the pool. There is a rail to hold onto but I found myself just sliding in on my bum instead! The pool area is busy but I never had any problems getting a sun lounger despite sometimes not going to the pool till late morning or the afternoon after coming back from the beach or an excursion.
I knew I wouldn't manage the stairs going to and from the beach so I used the free shuttle bus provided by the hotel. I took a picture of the bus time table in the reception as the buses aren't that regular.
Wi-Fi is pretty much non existent but to be honest, I never really want to use it much when I'm on holiday. Is it really that hard for people to go without Wi-fi for a week?
There were two quizzes everyday, one in the afternoon and one in the evening ranging in different topics.
The entertainment changed each night and were all the acts were very good.More
A standard thomson gold hotel
First impressions of hotel very 70s outside, dark marble inside, We were pleased with
our superior room, large, quite modern with a bay view and extras included in the price.
The selection of food in the restaurant was mainly very good .We normally had our main courses cooked to order. The restaurant could be very busy at peak times but the cards indicating whether the tables were occupied or free were a very good idea.
Most of the evening entertainment was good, the resident duo mellow Yellow and the Chinese Acrobats were excellent. The hotel staff and Thomson reps were helpful and friendly .Unfortunately the position of the hotel at the top of a hill and the 130 plus steps down to the boardwalk and beach makes it a difficult resort to walk around.
The resort doesn't have much of interest if you don't want to be on the beach.
Its worth going out on the various trips to other places around the island.More
Brilliant chilled out holiday but one member of staff ruined it!
I am a bit late reviewing this holiday as we went last year but here it is at last. I loved the hotel. We arrived around 12 noon and our room was ready. We emailed to see if they would be kind enough to place us poolside which they did but unfortunately we overlooked the roof of a building and could not see the pool. Bit disappointing but hey we got on with it, and could still hear the resident group practicing when we were getting read for dinner.
Rooms were spotless and very bright. Air con worked very well. The cleaners did a brilliant job and always changed the towels regularly.
Food was lovely and always hot but if not hot enough there is a mic ( my pet hate is cold beans at breakfast so suited me). Desserts were nothing to write home about though as it was the same at luch and dinner for the whole week. Didn't bother us as we don't really eat dessert but hubby just got ice cream.
The pool, i have never been away and found a pool to be warm as soon as you get in, this was heaven as it was a lovely temp. Although i would warn that it is extremely slippy as you are walking in, I ended up going in on my bum the first few days until i realized that the part were the fountain is, is the best part to get in. It is a little squashed with sun beds but nothing you cant just get on with. Also you can hire pool towels at 10 euro's each and you get it back at the end of your hols when you give the card back in ( the price might have increased slightly from last year) Brilliant service!
The lady life guard was very friendly and chatted to everyone. She tried her best to clean the pool and stop it from being slippy but i think its every ones suncream and oil that does it as there is a slick of it as you are getting in ( please be careful) To be honest i don't think there is any chlorine in the pool ( i couldn't smell any at all) .
Entertainment staff were great fun and the activities in the day were great, i joined in loads and am normally shy with that sort of thing.
The staff at reception were very friendly also the bar staff apart from one. Raul was like a little Hitler when it came to the rules of AI. Now i know there are rules and they should be stuck to but it was the way he went about it. My husband drinks pints and i drink halves of lager but come time to go up to the room i like to get 2 halves to sit on the balcony to relax before bed. My husband asked for his pint and two halves to be told very abruptly NO your not allowed! Hubby accepted this and just got the pint and one half, only to be followed over to the table by Raul waving the rules in his face and stating very loudly for him to read the rules and stick to them. This could have been dealt with in a very different way.
All in all i would advise anyone to go to this hotel as it is FAB! Go and enjoy yourselves you will have a great holiday. Just dont ask for more than 2 drinks at a time lolMore
This year we were very disappointed with this holiday as the hotel had a Butlins feel to it due to the nature of the entertainment provided by the Thomson staff. Some of the female Thomson Staff also seemed to seek out guests with the sole intention of talking loudly about themselves. Whilst this seemed to please many of the guests, it was not for us.
The hotel did not, in our opinion, meet the four star standard of other, similar all inclusive, adult only hotels which we have enjoyed via Thomson.
We also felt that the hotel was mis-represented by selective photography.
I must add however, that the hotel staff were excellent.More
Simply the Best!
I stayed AI at this hotel 11th-18th September, travelling from MAN on my own as a 30yr old female.
My first time travelling with Thomson, a Gold Package and staying at this hotel, I was more than impressed. I've probably had one of the best holidays, that's thanks to the hardworking staff, the people I met and I made the most of my holiday.
It is set on a hill, with 144(ish) steps down to the beach. I actually liked this, the added exercise meant I could eat more cake and drink more wine! The loungers round the pool are too close together, that's just my personal opinion as I like my space. I never struggled to find one and didn't really spot any issues with people reserving and struggling. I spent a few days down on the beach, it's lovely - white sand and crystal clear sea.
There is a wooden walkway on the beach which is nice to stroll down. I got out and about running, the area is great for it. There are trail/walking information boards with an easy/medium/difficult routes to follow. Definitely worth checking out to see more of the local area.
The sea view from the hotel was absolutely beautiful, if you are lucky enough to get a table near the window in the restaurant you will really appreciate it.
The hotel and communal areas were always immaculately clean. The staff are extremely hard working and so nice, they always spoke to me and asked if I was ok with me being on my own. I really felt that they looked after me. Massive thanks to them all, Jesus, Paco and all the ladies in the restaurant and Lumide in the entertainment area. It was great having drinks brought to you at the pool and in the evening.
The reps are helpful, Cara and Shaney helped me with local information. Mark was great with the entertainment, something to make you smile. The duo resident act Mellow Yellow, Amy & Ludo were on most nights, they sang a range of songs and were good.
My favourite entertainment acts of the week were the boy band tribute Adrenaline and entertainer Chris Lafferty - both acts were fabulous!
I'm a fussy eater and did not struggle once, I enjoyed the food. It was hot, labelled and a good variety.
This hotel is exclusive to Thomson and Brit only, I think this is what gave it a great atmosphere. I was worried about my age as lots of reviews said younger people don't fit in - that is not true at all, such a variety. My holiday was made fabulous due to all the people I met - the couple next to me in room 132, Robbie and his wife Beth at the evening entertainment, Debbie and Danielle who were also on holiday on their own )we just all happened to sunbath in the same area). Natalie and her parents Dave & Jo, such lovely people. Finally Lorraine and Neil who were responsible for a tequila hangover :)
I would recommend this hotel, I would also return. More
