Last minute booking to Minorca with Thompson Gold
The Thompson Gold hotel was impressive set above a beautiful cove at Arenal. The only downs side to its location was the walk back from the beach, quite a few steps but well worth the walk to the fantastic beach and clear blue water. The reception staff were welcoming and very helpful, that could be said for all of the staff, waiters maids and restaurant waitresses. The all inclusive option we took was well worth it, although you could go to the bar the waiters were always on hand to replenish your drinks. The pool area was spotless and you could have hotel towels for a deposit of $10.00. The rooms were clean and the towels changed every day, bed linen every other. The food was excellent with a good variety to cater for all tastes. Our Thompson reps were always available and very knowledgeable about the island. The only minus regarding the holiday was the lack of shops to visit in the resort. If you want a superior holiday that provides for all your needs you must go to this hotel. By the way this was an adults only holiday. Thank you Thompson for a fantastic holiday Alistair Kelly Farnborough HantsMore

We returned to this hotel a few weeks after a very wet , but excellent stay and as per normal, all was perfect. There were a few people who ignored the signs about not reserving sunbeds but they had their belongings removed if before the 10am time and you were not on the beds. This means that my husband and I cant breakfast together as I am up at about 6.30 and he doesn't get up until 9 but it is a fair way to stop sunbed hoggers so we are all for it. We were very lucky to have perfect weather on our return trip and to get different entertainment which was lovely as back outside again. Food and service as per normal, excellent, Epi runs the restaurant so smoothly and looks after everyone as soon as they walk in. Paco still must run 100 miles a day in looking after all the guests and our holiday wouldn't be the same without them. Hotel is kept immaculate and every time we return, we cant believe that they are still at the top of their game. It is very hard to keep at the top and we have been to many places that let their standards fall but have never been let down here. Actions speak louder than words and we are returning here twice in 2015 and once with the couple who had the bad weather but still loved the holiday. This hotel has stunning views over the Bay but if you have difficulty walking, this hotel would not be for you as states in the brochure, a lot of steps if you want to go to the beach. A huge Well Done to the staff and cant wait to see you all again.More
Good but not great!!
I had a weeks holiday at this hotel in June 2014 it was nice and warm out there. The hotel was lovely just a shame that its full of oap's who battle for sun beds I burn so its not a problem for me but its funny to watch the hotel is always clean and tidy and the food was fantastic plenty of choice the only downfall was the alcohol its like drinking paint stripper so only ask for a small measure but its situated in a brilliant place being in a bay that has bars and restaurants so all in all not too bad I wouldn't return.More

Had a lovely 2 week break here in Menorca. The age groups were very mixed, and mostly couples so as siblings we felt a bit "out of it" and didn't make any friends. All the guests were from the UK and there seemed to be very few visitors from the south, so again we were in a minority, and perhaps younger than average. But we had a lovely time at this hotel: the buffet was great (albeit a bit limited in choice after 2 weeks) catering for all tastes; the entertainment was good, although not always to our taste and a little too much soul music, not that I don't love it but I would have preferred a bit more of a mixture of musical styles. Most of the staff were lovely and the on site reps did everything they could to ensure we had a good time and plenty to do. Menorca is a small island, and as there are limited things to do in this small resort the day trips are a must. We went to Cuitadella and I will certainly return there, it was absolutely beautiful and half a day wasn't long enough. Mahon is interesting, as was the night market (local goods and lovely food and drink), and the mountain convent. I loved the island, it was everything I thought it would be and I will return and probably hire a car next time. But I wouldn't go back to this particular hotel again unless I was with a partner.More

I booked this resort through Thomson as a surprise honeymoon and was overwhelmed by the hotel and facilities. The staff, food, drink, pool and guests made this an amazing honeymoon for us and I will definately be back in the future. One small issue, we made friends with another couple from Northern Ireland in their 70's and the husband was wheelchair bound, the hotel has not been built for this and needs to look at this too suit disabled people.More
